You're welcome Joe.  Did you and Lance pick up your containers for work tonight?

And yes, we are supposed to be under a flood watch about this time tomorrow night, into Wednesday.  We don't need anymore wetness.  Our ground is pretty well saturated as it is, now!

I've set our more corned beef and cabbage, along with the rest of the beef roast, and side dishes.   Also, tonight, we've got cupcakes, decorated for St. Patrick's Day.  Hope you all enjoy them!

Well, I've gotten everything cleaned up from last night, since it looks like no one was in here, after I put supper out on the warmer bar, along with bagels and bear claws.

Coffee, juice and other morning beverages are freshly made, and there's a light breakfast of muffins, turkey bacon, sausage , oatmeal & toast on the warmer bar.

You all are on your own for lunch time today.  I have to be somewhere else, and won't be around until late afternoon.

You all have a good day, stay dry, if you're getting rain like we are, and take care!!

Thanks for breakfast CW.  Sorry I was so gloomy yesterday.  I couldn't shake off the "personal rain clouds" that kept following me all day.

it's foggy here in Lincoln town.....  Whistling [:-^]

Wow - I am glad we are past the green and the smell of St Pat's day and on to a quieter holiday - Happy Easter.

Feel better Dan! It is going to warm up.  We didn't get any of Big Muddy's snow, we got a smatter of rain and a little spritz this morning.  Then the next few days promise to be very nice.

I have all the December grads fluffed/folded/ and put away.  Now waiting for our May grads - which is supposed to be of record size.  Job security I hope.

CW - I will have a coffee and an English ear muff for breakfast.  Grape jelly....yum.

I see Joe comin'......I'm running for the rocker.....

Sunday morning the wind hereabouts was out of the northeast - not the usual.  It was kind of cold, too.  As the result of those two things, the delectable smell of our chicken cooking blew from where we were barbequing it right over the hamlet - you could smell it everywhere.  Great marketing gimic, but I doubt I can arrange the same thing for our next barbeque.

Had one of our local  residents come by our Hall and ask where we were doing the cooking - he apparently hadn't noticed the wind direction and was one of the first houses downwind...  He came back later and stocked up.

Well, we've made it back home, finally!  Since it's so late, I've set out some cold cuts  for sandwiches, and guess we'll make tonight pizza night.  Give me about a half hour, 45 minutes, to relax, and I'll start making the pizzas for tonight.  Should have them ready by 7 p.m., no later than 7:30 p.m. EDT.

Jack, I know how those medical tests are.  Hope everything will turn out okay.

Rainy and gloomy around Metro Louisville today.   They say by tomorrow, we could see a total to 2 to 4 inches of rain.  That we don't need!!

Running a little bit late late tonight, but the pizzas are ready:

1.  Anchovie; 2.  cheese; 3. pepperoni/mushroom; 4.  Italian; 5.  supreme; 6.  Hawaiian

And if anyone is interested, there's some corned beef andcabbage from yesterday, that can be warmed up quickly.

Joe, believe Mutt said he's heard of a couple of the underpasses that are flooded.  Haven't heard about the two close here to the house, which have the tracks overhead.

Has anyone heard from Grandpaw Pettibone (Tom) lately?  Haven't seen him in here for awhile.

"Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day"!!!!Headphones [{(-_-)}]  Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Another song for today would be "Singing in the Rain".  Our school system is open today, but there are plenty of school systems in the immediate area, such as the ones across the river in Southern Indiana, that are closed, and one or two that are opening two hours or so late.  Need for the rain to slack up a bit, so we can go out, check the rain gauge, and empty it.

Coffee, juices are freshly made, and hot chocolate, hot water for tea, and hot cider are coming up.  On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, bagles, bear claws and muffins, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy are all ready and on the warmer bar.

MOOKIE:  I'll meet you over at the rockers, with coffee for both us, and a couple of beagles w/cream cheese for ya!!

You all have a good morning, and stay warm and dry, if you can!!

....Still raining here.  41 degrees as we type.  Southern Indiana has received several inches of the stuff....Don't have my rain gauge out yet, so really don't know how much has fallen here in last few days.

Believe south of Indy there will be some major flooding.  Rivers here...weren't overly high yesterday, so far I believe the major problem will be south of us.

We {specifically}, are not in a flood plane but those that are, will see some water even in this area if it keeps it up a while longer.

Joe - I told the Driver you had two greenies coming my way - keep them until the weekend if you can.  I can almost tell you what track they will come in on, too!

CW - Need good coffee, since I had to make it this morning.  Ugh...and I know it isn't the water since we have the world's best tasting rock water and the coffee is a good brand....altho it isn't too bad this morning.  My talents lie elsewhere - I am almost sure......

We're just under a quarter inch of rain as I write this (since it started yesterday).  BUT, that rain is fallen on frozen ground covered with upwards of a foot of dense snow in most areas.   And it's nearing 40 degrees.

I don't foresee any flooding as such, but I suspect there will be some basements with water in them...

Robins just flew in a couple of days ago. What do they eat this time of year? And now for the bonus question. How come they hang out on lawns and not nearby fields?

Well, Mutt went out to bring the garbage can after garbage had run, and emptied the rain gauge:  had right at 3 inches in it.  When the rain starts again after a bit, we'll see how much more we get in the gauge.  Talked with my sister this morning, and she and her husband were vaccuming water out of their basement.  They have an alarm on their sump pump, and she heard it go off this morning, around 4, 4:30.

Lunch menu today:  pizzas from last night, along with tuna salad sandwiches, fries, garden salads, and fresh pears from Produce yesterday.

Anyone have any requests for supper tonight?  Need to get started on preparing supper for tonight in about two hours, and I would like some suggestions from you all.

CW, by tonight my medical testing will 'all be behind me' so something with mashed potatoes and green vegies, and a good desert to get me back up to strength.

Another nice sunshiney day in AZ.

Saw a Robin today...but no Batman!

I helped a soldier learn to swim about a month ago so he could pass his ROTC water test, which was last night.  When I started working with him he had trouble putting his head in the water.  To complete the test he had to swim 75 yards with BDUs on, disrobe (wearing a suit underneath tho... Whistling [:-^]) & then swim 25 yards.  After that he had to climb out, rerobe, and jump/get pushed off of a 3m board into deep water (18' in this case).  Kinda amazing to see him do all these things without struggle considering where he was a month ago.  It almost brought tears to my eye to watch him get choked up because he could finally do it.  It was his 3rd try (first since my help) and if he didn't pass he was out of ROTC.  It was neat to watch his whole battalion (officers and all!) cheering him on as the last 30 seconds of the final event ticked away.

Time to go workout again!  Back later/tomorrow morning possibly.

Well, since no one gave any suggestions for supper, here's what I eventually came up with:

Meat:  hamburgers, cheeseburgers; veggies:  fries or mashed taters & milk gravy, sweet peas and carrots

Desserts:  chocolate cupcakes, cherry and strawberry cheesecakes, key lime pie

Mutt went back outside a little bit ago, and we had another half inch of rain in the rain gauge.

Joe, let me know some of Stacey's favorite foods, and I'll fix them tomorrow.  What's her favorite flavor of cake, or other dessert?

Happy B-Day [bday] Happy Birthday to Stacey!  Many happy returns!

I'll grab a bagel and lurk for a bit.

Hey CW-today is 6 months from my wedding, what say we have beef tips in gravy and/or as entrees tonite?  We can also have mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli/cauliflower, and stuffing as sides?  The best part?  Strawberry cheesecake for dessert!
