Good Tuesday morning, everyone!  Temps this morning, are in the mid 50s, and will be slowly going down today, as a cold front comes through.  Is this what is called by the old timers as Easter Squall or one of those springtime 'winters' like Blackberry Winter'?  I get all of them confused.

Coffee has finished brewing, and fresh oj and oj/tangerine are ready, along with hot chocolate and hot tea.  On the warmer bar this morning:  toast, oatmeal, turkey bacon, sausage patties, hash browns and a special 'treat' this morning:  BLTs.

Need to make a call out Arizona way later on, sometime this afternoon, to wish Happy Anniversay to Nance and Bob!   If I remember correctly, it's either 19 or 20 years today for them.

NANCE AND BOB, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

Joe, got your lunch for tonight all ready for you.

Supper is on the warmer bar:  what's left of the meatloaf, beans, peas, etc.; and I've got some grilled pork chops w/baked taters (plenty of butter and or sour cream to go on the taters), and the other veggies left from lunch.

Mookie, glad to see you've gotten a puter at home now!  We can converse more often, now, can't we?!?!  (Meaning all of us here in the Cafe, and the rest of the forum.

Duff, glad to see you made it in here, with little Sadie Cutie Pie with you!  That's a great picture of her!!

Jack, if that's the case, maybe I need to buy a couple of cases of WD-40, and send to Wisconsin, so they can keep the doors and door frames well oiled!!Wink [;)]  Even with all the humidity and rain we've been having, our doors aren't sticking, and that's very rare, around here:  especially in the spring time!!

I've got lunch on the warmer bar:  leftover meat loaf, and sides are on now, and ready for you all to partake of some lunch.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Mookie, we're getting rain, also.  Supposed to be off and on all morning, then more rain coming in later tonight.  Guess we're starting our April Showers a day early!

Joe, thanks for making breakfast!  For some strange reason, every Monday, I cannot get in the front door here:  keep getting one of two messages:  (1) site is down or no longer exists or (2) after just waiting two or three seconds, get a message that site taking too long, and time has expired.  Think I will try to catch the Reds game this afternoon.  We get FSN Cincinnati on our satellite, so should be able to watch it, unless something else happens, like satellite going out, or a power failure, or something.

Mookie, glad you had such a great weekend, and got your very own weather report!  And Larry, I'll pass along your and Mookie's messages to Sarah.

Slop from the sky.  That's what I drove to work in this morning.  I think it was simultaneously snowing, sleeting, and raining.  It's just rain now.

At least the weekend was beautiful.

Sarah - got your FF1 yet?

Bearclaw and tea.  I'll be over in the corner....

It's Raining!  It is really, really raining.  I got wet this morning and I didn't even care!  Real Rain!

Said it might snow west of us, but for here just rain and then sun.  Perfect!

Hi Sarah - long time no hear.  You really must stop in once in awhile.

CW - I am going to have a big breakfast this morning.  Got to train watch both Sat and Sun and Willy and family came down on Sat for a visit.  I got my very own weather report, too!

Saw lots of train movement and one poor motor - an oldie - a GP28 that was dead in tow behind two other engines - headed east.  It was missing all the body except the cab - you could see the motors and a crumpled rear frame.  Someone chalked the number on the side.  It was a 15 something - the note is in Millie, and memory is somewhere else.  Maybe 1516?  We had a moment of silence for it.

Anyway - lots of freight moved this weekend.  We saw some of those heavy haulers that Houston Ed has every so often.  They were hauling some kind of a generator from Lincoln Boiler.  Hey Ed - wouldn't want to drop that on my toe.....

Must eat and find coffee.

Mook

CW, tonight's dinner menu sounds mighty good to me, unfortunately it's gonna be a while until I make another appearance here in the Flat Wheel Cafe. I was supposed to have gone to work this morning but I've been hit with some kind of an intestinal bug. I will not go to extreme lengths to describe what I have been dealing with, but I've got everything from an upset stomach, lack of appetite and chils that do not want to seem to go away. I am drinking SPRITE in an attempt to restore some of the electrolytes in my system.

If what I have got can easily passed from person to person, it's probably a good idea that I chose to stay home. I've got to think about the others that I work with.

Okay, the meat loaf is just about ready to come out of the oven (needs about 15 minutes more cooking time).  The side dishes will be:  green beans w/almonds, buttered peas & corn, and your choice of garden salad or cole slaw.   And the mashed taters always has a pool of butter in the center!

It's turned out not to be such a beautiful day around here:  sun is not shining, and it's a tad bit on the very cool side out.  Very gloomy outside.  Hope others are enjoying a nicer day than we are.

Can we have buttered peas or corn with the meatloaf and mashed taters for a classic Blue Plate special dish? Smile [:)]

Green beans with thin sliced almonds and a little butter pooled in the mashies. How 'bout a little bacon over the meatloaf.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  Joe, thanks for getting the coffee and juice ready, and for fixing breakfast this morning!  How's everyone else doing this morning?

As far as college basketball goes this year, guess my feeling was a very bad one.  I figured we'd see WKU vs. U of L, but guess that wasn't meant to be.  Oh well, better luck next year, guys.  Now, I'll just have to see how Cincinnati will do on Opening Day tomorrow!  GO REDS!!

Looks like we're going to have a pretty good day, weatherwise, until about 5 p.m. this afternoon, when rain and possibly thunder showers are due to roll into the area.  Believe our high today is to get up to about 65, so that's not going to be too bad.

You all make sure to be back in about 1 p.m. EDT for SUNDAY DINNER.  Today's menu is going to include meat loaf w/mashed taters, and I'm trying to decide on the other vegetables that we'll have with the meat loaf.  Maybe broccoli and cauliflower, maybe something else.   Any suggestions?

Good evening everyone. Thanks for the calzone! Dinner [dinner]

Alas, if you're a University of Louisville fan, it's not a good night--both the men's and women's college basketball teams lost to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Sad [:(]
