Q, we haven't fertilized the yard very much in the last 20 years we've been here; and I

The Shrubs did get trimmed ealier this year, if they need it again, it's going to have to

Joe, if we, (or the people that cut the grass) have to put pontoons on the lawn mower,

It ain't gonna get cut!!

The steak w/mushrooms & onion are out of the Crock Pot, and on the warmer bar, along with the beef stew and cornbread; other hot veggies today:  baked potatoes w/your choice of butter and or sour cream, succotash (lima beans & corn mixed together), or peas & carrots.

Desserts today:  banana pudding w/meringue on top, strawberry and cherry cheesecakes, and chocolate cake w/white icing.

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice, quiet, peaceful afternoon.  We're ocassionally hearing the planes from yesterday's air show, flying over the house, leaving Louisville.  You can definitely distinguish them from the 'regular' planes flying overhead!!

Not sure about snizzle, but we can replace the sn, with dr here; doesn't look like

Any yard work will get done today.

At least the weather cooperated enough for the Thunder Air Show and Fireworks yesterday.

(at least good enough to watch on TV and not be in that crowd!)

Q, we had the grass cut last Sat. and it looks like it's on the "borderline" of needing to

be cut again. (already)

Clear but cool here on the Maryland Shore this morning.  Certainly nothing to complain about.  Evie just went back upstairs to see Mom about brunch.

Time to get up and around and work on that glider!

....37 degrees and heavy overcast.  Hope they haven't changed the former nice forecast for tomorrow.  One of the priorities this coming week for me is to have the winter tires removed from my S10....and  do a second mowing.  Now we don't want the weather to reverse that.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  Very chilly morning here in the Metro Louisville area:  41 degrees w/sprinkles and drizzle.  The "people in the know" say we could even see some snow fluries/light snow showers today.  Yuck!!  This is Spring, for Pete's sake!!  Although, it is Derby Time in Louisville, and we have seen snow on the first Saturday in May before.

Coffee is ready to pour, and there's fresh orange juice, apple juice, orange/tangerine juice and pineapple juice this morning.

On the breakfast/warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage patties & links, and pancakes.

In the Crock Pot for Sunday Dinner:  top round sirloin steak w/mushrooms & onion in cream of chicken soup (didn't have any cream of mushroom soup handy this time).  And in another pot on the stove, I've also got beef stew cooking for  Sunday Dinner.

Hope everyone has a good morning, and enjoy your breakfast!

Good evening everyone. Thanks for the calzone! Dinner [dinner]

It's been a very warm day today--it reached 90 degrees F. earlier this afternoon according to the Weather Underground web page for the weather station nearest to my house. Shock [:O]

Still working at chopping up tree remains here- enlisted a local tree service to come and grind up the stumps sometime next week.  Had to endure spitting snow showers while working on them this afternoon.

Had showers off and on all day, and am watching lighting from up around Baltimore out the window right now.

Still - it's nice and mild out.  Even if I didn't get the lawn glider put back together.  There's always tomorrow...

Went out and frolicated in the 39 degree cloudiness and 29 mph wind.  It was so nice not to have to do it in knee deep snow!

As soon as this all blows east, we will start warming up and enjoying spring.  Tulips are up and crocus and daffodils are blooming.  Driver's favorite 4 syth e a - is starting to bloom  (he has a lisp and can't say it very well.)

Pizza will be good.  Nap better!

Joe, thanks to you and Matt for making the pizzas for tonight!  I took a longer nap than I thought I would.   You and Matt did a great job on the pizzas.  Think I'll take a couple of slices of supreme, please, along with a tall glass of Sierra Mist.

Yeah hello, bring it on.... For the record, we hams don't talk like that in any shape or form, but it is a fun way to start my missive. I just got online, because some goomer took out an electric pole or two, and knocked out about half of Florence, and as far south as my humble abode. We sat in the dark for over five hours (I know, the sun did come up, but without power, everything is dark). I don't have any details on this astounding event, but am probing all my friends until one of them fesses up. Currently, 75 degrees at 11 AM. Be safe

Thinkin' about sprinklin' outside.  Quiet in the house - everyone (even Evie) is sleeping in.  Daddy's schedule doesn't include much time for sleep, so he's enjoying this even more.

Looks like the rain will quit for a while, which is good - I have a lawn glider to reassemble - outside.

....Good Morning to all:  44 degrees here in central Indiana and the sun trying to break thru in the east.  Not sure just what kind of day weather wise it is to be.  Colder for sure.  Lots of clouds around.  But boy those pic's I saw from up in I believe it was Wi. last evening....Wow....and in the 2nd week of April....burrr.  We want none of that stuff here if it can be helped.  Blossoms and leaves are shooting out now and the pretty time of the year is developing fast.

Thanks CW for getting things started early...it is raining here in Aurora and I grabbed some coffee and muffins and a big banana before I dress and head back out to downtown Chicago for another day at the trade show I am attending.

Yesterday I took Metra from Aurora to CUS...my train left at 6:07 a.m. on the dot and arrived exactly on time at CUS at 7:02.  I caught the 5:47 p.m. express home last night but as we pulled up to CUS in the car to drop me off there were lots of fire trucks and ambulances in front and lots of smoke was pouring out of what seemed like an HVAC access panel on the second floor.  This did not impact my trains departure one little bit.  I sat in the last car of my train so I could stand at the rear door and watch the track disappear behind us...lots of fun but hard on the back.

Have a wonderful day, everybody.

Well, good morning everyone.  Got the warmer bar cleaned up from last night.  Everything that was on it, is now out in the trash, since apparently, no one was in last night.  All the lights were on, the train layouts were all running.

Fresh coffee is brewing, and I've made fresh oj and oj/tangerine.  On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, maple syrup, blueberry syrup, your choice of hash browns, tater tots, or fried taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

The sun is shining right now; current temp is in the mid 40s, going for a high in the mid 50s, and turning cloudy as we go on through the day.  Gonna have a lot of cold people down on the Waterfront this afternoon for the aircraft show, and later on for the fireworks tonight.  Glad we just stay home and watch it on TV.

Have a good day, everyone, and be back in here tonight for the pizza fest.

Hey, Gramps:  bet you're really 'dreading" the holding duty while Mom gets supper, right? Wink [;)]  Good to hear that you've got such beautiful weather and temps in the Bay area.

The warmer bar has been replenished totally, with:

Cod, Bass, Flounder, Haddock, Halibut, Perch, corn on the cob, fries, baked beans, hushpuppies, and there's even some scallops for tonight.

Rain has moved out of the area, and now the winds are really blowing.  You'd think this is March, the way the winds are ripping around!  Too bad we don't have a kite.  Although, if we did have one, we'd probably blow away with it!!

Greetings from the beautiful shore of Chesapeake Bay.  80 here today, nice and sunny.

Found that granddaughter likes music - even gently played harmonica!  Shenedoah and Red River Valley worked wonders last night, and I even managed a rendition of Brahm's Lullaby when she woke up again..  She should be about done eating, so I'll probably get holding duty while mom works on supper.  Such a terrible chore to have to perform.  Cool [8D]

Cannonball, the City bought this property to construct a new fire station and the last I heard was the lightweight dining/lounge car was at the city's property on Sundog Road. The through truss bridge is still there as a 'landmark' and I don't think it is in danger of blowing away with the railcar removed.

If you should be coming this way, as an option to the slightly larger city to the south, perhaps we can meet and share a meal or a true story (the only type I share). Email me if that sounds good for you.

got caught in traffic.....work traffic!  Geez!  Doesn't anyone realize it is Friday around here?

Weather report - over an inch of nice rain - cold and snow spit.  That was all we got since Wed. nite.  All the snow blasted north and west of us.  Yea!  I do feel for those people - honest.  It is calving season and you can't have calving season w/o snow and blizzard conditions.

Just about the time I think I should leave Lincoln and high taxes, the weather does something nice like this.  Will stay a little longer.  Don't need Houston Ed's 80 and humidity, but it will be 70 first part of next week.  Cool [8D]

Going to go pick through the fish and see if any of it wiggles......

We've had some thunder is the last little bit, just raining right now.  Got our Friday Fish Fry on the warmer bar.  All the regular kinds of fish, along with all the regular side dishes and desserts.  Feel like going back to sleep, but guess I'll try to stay up for awhile longer.  Those of you in the line of this rain/storms, hope you can manage to stay warm and dry this afternoon.   Mudchicken, has it quit snowing out your way yet?

....So far we're seeing a very nice day here....The main line of the weather system passed during the night and it's partly sunny and a warm wind blowing. A bit over 66 now.

This evening we might see the upper "comma shaped" wrap around of that system pass by here and bring a bit more rain.  But now, it's a nice windy spring day.  Blossoms and leaves are poping out very nicely.
