Good morning.

We have 38 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and it is shaping up to be a pretty nice day. It's supposed to warm up to about 67 this afternoon. Yesterday it was cold and windy here.......terribly windy and it had been threatening to rain here as well.

My day this morning has been somewhat dampened by the passing of a dear lady who was a member of my own church, Ethel McClain. She was an elementary school teacher, and while I never had her as a teacher, I always regarded her as something of a saint, and now she has made that final journey Home!

I've noted that Joe likes to drink from a BNSF mug. I don't have a BNSF coffee cup or mug, but I am drinking Snickerdoodle (chocolate flavored) coffee from a CB&Q mug which features a CB&Q F unit, #163A on the front of it. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Burlington Route.

Good Tuesday morning, to one and all!  Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day today!  May have to spend some time this afternoon outside.  Supposed to reach a high in the upper 70s, might even hit 80 degrees today.

Mookie, hope you have a better day today at work!  Here's your coffee mug, and I've got plenty of coffee to go in it this morning!

On the breakfast bar this morning:  sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels, muffins, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, turkey bacon, pancakes & syrup, fresh pineapple slices, and the water is heating for anyone who wants hot tea.

Wonder how many will show up today for Produce Tuesday.  Last week, we had 69 people; with it being warmer this morning, wonder if I have close to 80 people.  Warmer weather in the springtime, seems to bring out more  people, than other times.  (And I hope they bring something other than potatoes and cabbage.  I'm sick of seeing cabbage every week, as are several other people!)

Everyone have a great morning, and I'll see you after I get back.

I came home tired and cranky with a small dent in my head....

Took a nap for about 45 min - dreamed the whole time that I needed to go home and take a nap.  I think some time in the old hammock is required!

The grill-out food is on the warmer bar:  burgers, brats, hot dogs, baked beans, and baked taters.  Cole slaw is in the cooler.

If Mookie hit herself in the head w/said hammer, bet her head is pounding as much as mine is, and I haven't hit my head with anyone, nor has anyone hit me in the head!  I'm just guessing that it is allergy related, as eyes have been itching and burning all afternoon, and sneezing "to hoolay the rail", as that old saying goes.    BTW, does anyone actually know what that old saying means?!?!?  I've heard it all my life, and don't really know what is means.Confused [%-)]

Workin' my little finners to the bone - I am just buried here at work - and they pulled the plug on the system.  I can only do the web.  Can't e, can't work, can't feel too bad.....

Not a good time for this to happen.  I will never get caught up at this rate.  Tree - want to come help out?  Our IT is busy trying to find out who tripped over the plug!  Going home in 45 min - I am going to try to de-stress before I do.

Another cold front went through here - 80 yesterday 48 today.  I have 3 different bed scenerios - winter gown, winter sheets, 2 blankets.  Winter gown, winter sheets, 1 blanket.  Summer gown, winter sheets - no covers.  Guess a 4th could be - stay up and sleep fully clothed in chair with tv on.....

Going to go hit myself in the head with a hammer - at least I will be doing something constructive!

Bob, we'll have the cook-out tonight.  Sounds like a good menu.  Getting the beans ready now, and making fresh slaw, and will be washing baking taters in a little bit.

For now, though, how about this for lunch:  meat loaf sandwiches from dinner yesterday, along with mashed taters & gravy, and corn in butter sauce, and brussel sprouts in a creamy cheese sauce?

I'll fire up the grill about 6:15, and start grilling about 6:45.

I missed breakfast today. I would really like a cook-out for tonight. I'm thinkin' brats, hot dogs, burgers, chips & roasted 'taters w/baked beans & slaw. I love this weather & the fact that the old WeedEater fired right up.

Mookie, you are not the only one who had trouble sleeping this lat night. It seems like I was up half the night with heartburn, I ate a little too much of something I like, I had buttermilk bisquits topped with creamed chicken for dinner last night, and I was out of ant-acid tablets. And what was left of a quart of milk in my refrigerator was a little sour. Ice water does the trick for me if I drink plenty of it though.

During the winter months I sleep under several layers; a flannel sheet, two knitted blankets, a wool indian banket, a star quilt which my sister made for me, and a sleeping bag which I have unzipped all the way to form sort of a comforter. I could probably remove the wool blanket and maybe a couple other layers. It will not be too much longer berore I will need to switch on the central air conditioning here.

I have the day off today, we have 47 or 48 degrees here in Sioux Falls and it is shaping up to be a very nice day here. I might grab my Nikon FE and see if I can find some trains to shoot this afternoon. I hope the rest of you out there are having a good day!

Ms Mook - I'll see your passed out and raise you exhausted.

Ran on the wine trains Friday night (what a rowdy crowd!) and Saturday, plus some switching of the train on Saturday, then had to make the four hour round trip again on Sunday when I discovered I'd left some stuff I needed for today on the train.  On returning from that trip, I had to head for our local PBS station to run camera until midnight.  Then to work this morning.  No break until Wednesday - I'm running camera tonight and Tuesday, too.

Back to the grind.   Have to stay busy so I don't doze offfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

.....52.9 right now and foggy.  To be bright and sunny and 75 today.

Can see it's brighter in the east so the sun is punching thru some of the fog and we'll be seeing it soon.....

Good....need to open some doors and windows today as the carpet cleaner will be here to do some work....Need to have fresh air to support drying quickly.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  A very pleasant morning, with the temp in the upper 50s, and patchy fog in the outlying areas.  I don't notice much, if any, fog in our area.   Looking for a high today in the upper 60s, low 70s.

This morning, I'll be doing two jobs here:  cooking and waitressing.  On today's breakfast menu:  your choice of turkey bacon, pork sausage links or patties, and buttermilk pancakes w/plenty of maple syrup, and scrambled eggs.

Tom, here's your plate, along with a Crystal Light for you.  Tom, I can empathize with your wife this morning:  my allergies are going off also.  But so far, they aren't making me sick.

Okay, they say we had another earthquake around 1:30, 1:40 this morning.  If so, I really slept through it this time, cause I didn't feel a thing.  Said it registered 4.something on the Riechter  (sp?) Scale.

Mookie, here's your coffee mug, filled with coffee for you.

The wife is sick herself with allergies, so it is problematical. I will have some buttermilk pancakes and scrambled eggs please and some cold Crystal Light. Thanks

Good afternoon, all. Sorry to be late, but it hasn't been a good day here at Pettibone manor. Paula, thanks for the Sunday dinner, as usual, it hit the spot. At present, it officially 75 degrees and clear at the jetport. That usually means nothing, because they are always different from everybody else. Take care
