Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Well, there. Got the conference out of the way.
Bumping and a-rumbling out side right now, to the tune of a quarter inch of rain, but the scanner is relatively quiet, so there wasn't any damage from the severe t-storm we got a warning on...
Still trying to decide if I want to go help PBS out for a while tonight.
Got a call from a friend who was out with the author today - exploring the area I wanted to explore. I'm going tomorrow, and if we get done early enough, I'll take a walk up there myself.

Well, since no one's been in since this morning, I don't know how much good it'll do me, to post the pizza menu for tonight; but, here is our SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA MENU:
1. anchovie2. cheese3. goetta4. Hawaiian5. pepperoni/mushroom6. supreme7. calzones
Been out in the sunshine this afternoon: Sarah and I went to Wal-Mart, and she got some plants, vegetable seeds and top soil. Sure was nice to get out for a couple, three hours, even though we didn't see any trains anywhere. (And we were by tracks in a few locations. Oh well, better luck next time I guess.
....A cool morning as compared to this past week....Mid 50's now and a bit of wind. Rain gauge has .2" in it this morning. Didn't hear any disturbance from storms during the night but did see on the radar {late last night}, it was coming at us to pass thru here sometime during the night. We actually do need some rain.
Cloudy now, but the sun is to come out later.

Good Saturday morning. Joe, thanks for fixing breakfast. Been awake since 2:14, but didn't get on the puter, because we were having thunder, lightning, winds, and plenty of rain. They said we picked up 1/4 inch this morning. The balloon race for this morning has been postponed until sometime later this afternoon, weather permitting. But the marathon & mini marathon races will go on as scheduled, about ten minutes or so.
Going to be a slightly cooler day today here. The high is only supposed to be 70. Think we'll have a very nice day.
good morning
mookie here is some coffee.juice is also available too. we have pancakes bacon and eggs.looks like matt will be able to play ball today.

Hmm - sounds like Tree is trying to become a "soccer mom". My long week finally came to an end and I am ready for a nice weekend rest.
I am going to snag a banana and go sit on the porch and watch the sun rise. Always perfect weather here in the cafe....

They tried to nominate me, but I declined.
I'm tuckered out, too, and I've still got two long days ahead of me...
evening
calling for rain early am.matt is tuckered out.so am I.good night.
....From our McD's parking lot {next to the Frankfort NS line}, we checked it out again this evening. Bingo....Did get to observe a grain train in from the west.
Had him on my scanner for some time and wondered why it was taking so long to arrive. Then the New Castle DP radioed: As soon as we get CSX thru, then we can get you across....{NS has to go across the diamonds}, to head south. So I got out of the truck and walked to the tracks about 50' away and looked west....and sure enough, I glimmering headlight stopped about 3 miles west of our location.
In a few min. as CSX cleared, in comes the grain train trundling past sounding very smooth....69 grain cars. 3 six axle engines. And lots of traffic backed up on a busy street there in Muncie being Friday evening.
Mookie, I think that your Mom wanting a computer is great.
Larry, I tend to agree with Mookie: there will always be people who will forever consider you "Chief". And maybe one day, you'll actually be chief again!!
If anyone wants anything, just check out the warmer bar, and the cooler. You'll find plenty to fill your tum-tums.
Tree - We know why they call you - you are still the "chief".....
You mentioned your mother - mine just called and at 87, wants a puter. I wish she would have done this when I was younger and had more patience. Fortunately, she will get my old one to tinker with just as soon as I get my new one in May.
From the land of all seasons - we had snow in the northeast, (So Dak really got the snow) and a tornado in the southeast corner of the state. Ah spring....
Just got a call from a sheriff's deputy - seems a member of the family of one of our firefighters was burning some plastic silage bags back in the back 40, and the smoke was visible, well, everywhere. We've gotten called on that before, but the place he burns is so far off the road that I wouldn't dare take a truck out there.
He'll get a warning - they aren't giving tickets just yet. He plead ignorance of the ban.
As for why I got the call - they couldn't reach our current chief, and let's just say that dispatch has my number...
afternoon
had chores and errands this morning then took a nap.larry we have had a few people burn here with the high winds too.some people just dont want their barns I guess.Cw thanks for supper.its time to get matt off the bus.hopefully he can play ball tommorow.
Ray, you definitely make good cookies! Chocolate chip, huh? Hmmm, I'm gonna have to not eat more than two of them, so everyone else gets some. But, everyone, Ray's cookies are delicious! His oatmeal cookies are "to die for" good. We'll serve them after lunch, which is on the warmer bar: our regular Friday Fish Fry is ready, and taking up the fries, hushpuppies, and corn on the cob now. Have cole slaw and potato salad in the cooler.
I am baking chocolate chip cookies this morning, the intent is to share them with my co-workers at Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers. I've got plenty of cookie dough on hand and will leave three dozen chocolate chip cookies at the Flat Wheel Cafe for everyone to enjoy. CW and Mutt know that I make a good cookie!

Waterwings and umbrellas are in the closet...
We're in for some weather of the next week - t'storms, rain. It'll be nice - might cut down on the vegetation fires, which are occuring in spite of a burn ban.
Bearclaw and tea.
PBS auction again tonight. Haven't seen much I wanted to buy, but it's going pretty well.
...Weather channel's forecast late last night showed all kinds of spoty rain moving thru our area, but not much happened overnight....Still rather dry here. Must check our rain gauge I just put back out yesterday after the winter rest....
Later today a potential for some more weather as the front will pass us {projected to}, later this afternoon early evening.
A warm start this morning and forecast to be in the 80's today.
Sunshine right now.
Checked out our viewing location again early evening {McD's parking lot} with some snacks.....and it sure seems to me the NS traffic {now}, is less than a year ago. That's on the Frankfort line out of Muncie. Maybe just a lull now....We'll keep an eye on it. Maybe the times have changed. We sure hear train movements from home here...{about a mile away from the line}, especially at night...That might be some of the difference.
Well, the pyrotechnics have begun again this morning.
Yesterday morning we received 1.4 inches of rain, and this morning promises to be even worse if the radar is any indication.

The breakfast menu here sounds pretty good to me, CW, I'm hungry!
It rained all day here in Sioux Falls yesterday, and I have no idea how much rain we had gotten. It is still raining here this morning and there is the threat that it will turn into snow later this afternoon. We have 34 degrees and the radio station that I am listening too just said that we are getting some sleet.
I've picked up a head cold and my sinuses are a mess, but I reckon I will weather it and just let it run it's course..........I could be in a lot worse shape.
I hope the rest of you out there have a good day.

Good Friday morning everyone! We have a temp in the low 70s this morning, and I think it'll be a fairly nice day today.
Coffee, fresh juices, and hot water for tea are ready. On the warmer bar this morning, pancakes & syrup, sausage, turkey bacon and scrambled eggs, along with our regular assortment of danishes, doughnuts, muffins, bagels and bear claws.
You all have a good morning, and hopefully, I'll see everyone in here throughout the day.
Nice and dry here, but cooling down a bit over the end of the week. Sunday's forecast no longer includes rain, a good thing as I still plan on exploring with that author. Just not sure exactly where he'll be and when - could be a challenge.
Time for a bedtime snack and ... bed.
.....No precip here yet, but possible yet tonight....9 pm. 81 today. It is getting dry.
Joe, hope you really like leftovers. I've warmed up the leftovers from the grill-out last night and they're on the warmer bar. There are containers made up for you for work, and they are in the fridge.
Haven't seen any precip yet, but for the last hour, it's looked like it could start raining any time. (And it's not supposed to start until about midnight, give or take a little bit on either side.) Guess we'll see what happens later on tonight.
well matt and I went and paid bill today. He will probably send us more letters next week.Csx was busy today.the y101 had 33 cars for the maw today. The maw gets crowded for sure.mookie sorry I couldn't stop back at the roadside stand.Matt wanted to talk to #1 today.CW thanks for supper and hey its friday tonight!!!!(even it does rain)
