Not a bad morning here - a little cool.  One of the possible chores for today was to mow the lawn, though, and with the rain looming on the radar, I don't think that'll happen.

I have plenty of other things to do...

Time to get to them.

Jim - give up chasing - try moseying - it works at our house!

Fan on overnite in bedroom - and heat will go on tonite.  You gotta love spring.

Rain all day - but I like rain.  Had two young college men in our garden here at work at 5:15 am.  They were in swim trunks - think they were going to take a dip in one of our two reflecting pools....they got a surprise - they filled in the pools last fall.  They looked pretty silly out there when I switched on the lights!  Kisses [:X]

Going to grab one of CW's donuts - they sound good - and go swing for awhile.  Weather always nice on our patio here!

.....Little different weather here this morning....A threat of on and off rain today and those terrible tornado threats seem to be going just south of us now, but more weather lines will be forming later today and they bring a threat too.  Glad no one has been reported killed overnight from the terrible winds, etc....

68 degrees now and on and off sunshine this morning.  We've had a bit of rain...{which we do need....}.

Good morning to you all.  It is a balmy 71F here in Aurora this morning with thunder boomers threatening all day today as a cold front approaches from the southwest (they had bad, damaging storms in KC last night according to the Chicago Tribune).  I am a bit slower than normal recently as I somehow managed to damage my Achilles tendon and am limping quite a bit.  The podiatrist says its Achilles Tendinitis and to ice it and wear a compression sock and use off the shelf orthotics in my shoes.  This happened last Sunday and it is now getting quite a bit better but not 100%...guess I can't chase my wife around the house the way I used to any more?

Thanks to all for the great coffee and muffins this morning.  Have a great day.

Good morning-

We had thunderstorms and tornados come through my region last night. There were up to six tornados sighted in northwestern Iowa. The civil defense/tornado sirens in my neighborhood went off twice last night, and I picked up some marble-sized hail stones off my front deck. I have not heard any news reports of anyone having been hurt in all this, so I reckon that is good news. There is a very good possibility that it will be raining here when I head for work at 11:00 this morning, and as I have said in an earlier post, the Black Hills region could get as much as two feet of snow out of this system that has been brewing out west of here. We will see a maximum of 48 degrees here in Sioux Falls today.

Good Friday morning, everyone!  It is very warm here this morning:  71 degrees.  That is normally the high for this date, not the low.  Aparently, we had a thunderstorm roll through during the night; but I never heard it, if it was in our area.  Chance of off and on showers, storms throughout the day, then the chance increases tonight, for slightly severe winds and storms coming through.

Got the coffee and juice ready for this morning, and on the warmer bar, along with the regular Friday Doughnuts & Danish, there's also turkey bacon, sausage, and buttermilk pancakes.

You guys will be interested in this:  on the local morning news program, the anchors are out at the track this week.  The male anchor had the dubious "chore" of interviewing a couple of Playboy Bunnies this morning.  And there are 10 other Playboy Bunnies that are here for the Derby.

Taking my coffee and a couple of cream filled, chocolate covered doughnuts out to the patio, if anyone needs me.

Larry, the Dumplings actually do warm up well, bowl saved for you.

Derby for the Fillies is tomorrow, (Ky. Oaks) I understand this year, instead of "Lillies for the Fillies", the Garland will be Catnip...I didn't know we had a contender!Mischief [:-,]

Darn - I was so busy getting ready for the fire meeting that I missed chicken and dumplings.  Somehow I doubt the dumplings will warm well...

Lots of projects for tomorrow (my day off work), so better start heading for bed.

CW, thanks for the chicken and dumplings. They are favorites of mine and really hit the spot. Ray, the idea of 2 feet of snow this late is scary.  Like you say, though, any moisture helps when it's dry.Still nothing to report from this area, so everyone stay safe

I've never cared much for tomatoes, but I will eat them in a sandwich or a burger if it includes a slice of tomato. My Mom's younger sister Nancy who lives in Apple Valley, California makes homemade ketchup from tomatoes, and it is actually better than Heinz or Del Monte. And what I wouldn't give for a jar of my aunt's homemade ketchup!

What CW has planned for dinner tonight sounds pretty good to me.

I just got home from work and we have a temp of 68 degrees here in Sioux Falls. We have a 30% chance of rain tonight and a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms for tomorrow. Meanwhile, it looks like the Black Hills of South Dakota will be pretty well socked-in with a snow storm over the next two days. The Deadwood & Lead area could get as much as 20 to 24 inches in total accumulation of snow!! The Black Hills can be tinder dry, so the added moisture will not hurt them. I have an old friend, Reed Richards who practices law in Deadwood, and he and his brother Carlyle played a huge role in fostering my interest in trains when I was just a little kid.

Thanks to you all for the congrats on my lower cholesterol rating!!

Bob, what kind of tomato plants did you get?  When we get them, we usually try to get Big Boys, Better Boys and Big Girls, and possibly Ponderosa tomato plants.  Those are the ones that usually have the best taste!!

As for WHAT'S FOR SUPPER tonight, let's get lunch out of the way first, shall we?  And for lunch, we're having burgers, and cheeseburgers w/sauteed onions, fries, onion rings, and your choice of garden salad, Caesar salad or cole slaw.

As for supper, I'm boiling chicken right now, to make chicken & dumplin's for tonight.  And for anyone who doesn't want that, we'll also have leftover roast, taters & carrots, and some fresh sliced red tomatoes.  (Yes, I made an early trip to the grocery this morning, before everything was really picked over!)

Believe we are to get some rain coming in late tonight or sometime tomorrow morning, possibly some thunderstorms going into Saturday morning.  Might make for interesting KY. Derby racing Saturday when the races start, as well as for an interesting Fillies racing tomorrow afternoon.  Oh well, hopefully, I won't be anywhere near that mess out around Churchill Downs.

I picked up tomato plants today, then learned BIG hail may be coming our way tonight. I'll bury them tomorrow. Congrats CW on the chlorestorol cholesterol   count. Not only is it tough to control, it's tough to spell. What's for supper?

Good May Day morning all!!

After working the mail and BILLS after a long trip I am back to normal(?). Cool in AZ mountains for the next few days and dry. Send some of your midwest rain please.

Great news CW and to help you celebrate I shall have one of the BLT's on toast.

Railroad - NORAC for us.  New edition out this year.  Haven't read the new version through - it'll be interesting to see what specifically applies to us.  Rules regarding signals, for instance, while very important, are of little significance to us since we have none.

We're starting to see some color here in the north country.  My tulips are up and starting to bloom, and some of the trees are starting to show some color.  It'll be later this month before we get really green, though.

Still cool, but I'm not complaining.

....Redbuds and Magnolias are showing their beauty for a week or so now....Very beautiful.  Wind and rain has taken it's toll on some of the Mag's but with the tulips, etc.....it is the very best beauty time of the year....

Now if I can just find my Humming birds...

54 degrees now and the sun is shaded by some clouds in the east.

Did get in another mowing yesterday.

ohmigosh - I just yawned and my whole face disappeared....

Think I hurt something....

Very nice day - rain on the way - maybe.  We are in the maybe time of the year - maybe rain maybe not.

Bradford pears have turned the whole city white and the forsythia, yellow.  Magnolias have bloomed and suffered their usual fate - the wind has blown them all over the neighborhoods.  They suffer the same fate each year - gets really warm, they bloom and then it frosts or wind blows 90 mph and usually both and they are gone before they can e enjoyed.  We are just too far north for them to be really pretty for more than a few minutes.

But it has been a pretty spring so far.

Hear Joe coming up the walk....I think.....wonder if he wants hot chocolate or chocolate milk...maybe I will taste the chocolate milk.......................sorry Joe - recommend the hot chocolate.........

And the May baskets I made, well......the baskets are left.....the candy seems to have disappeared and the flowers...well, they were accidently - well, don't they have some kind of chlorophyll in them which is good for you?  Blush [:I]

Good Thursday morning, to all!  Mookie, it has been a long week, hasn't it?!?!

HAPPY MAY DAY to everyone!  Anyone have a May Pole we can put up?!?!Tongue [:P]

Coffee is ready, and fresh juice is made and in the cooler.  On the breakfast bar this morning:  blueberry  and strawberry muffins, bear claws, bagels, and, as a special treat this morning, BLTs on toasted bread.

Think I'll take my coffee and head out to the garden.  Feels nice outside this morning, and I'll watch the sun come up!

Joe and everyone, did get some good news from the doctor today:  my cholesterol is down to 160!  Had to have more blood work done.  Went to the doctor today, because I've had a big bruise on the inside of my left foot.  Haven't hit it on anything (and the inside of the foot would be a mighty hard place to hit on something), so he ordered the blood work, to see if possibly the Plavix needs to be decreased.  Will go back again on June 2nd.

Looks like there's going to be plenty of roast, taters and carrots w/gravy for supper tonight.  Side dishes to go with it:  your choice of the following veggies:  green beans, brussel sprouts, broccoli, corn, stewed tomatoes (mixed w/biscuits & sugar), cole slaw and your choice of dinner rolls or baked cornbread.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Another nice, pleasant day on tap around here.  Current temp hovering around 42 degrees.

Coffee is on, fresh juice is made, and water is hot for tea.  And if Mudchicken and Chris need it, I'll fix them some hot chocolate this morning.

On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, hash browns, pancakes w/syrup, cinnamon rolls, and homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

I've got some roast, taters & carrots cooking in the Crock Pots for today.  Have to go to the doctor this morning (primary doctor), and not sure if I'll be back in time to do lunch.   Put that on, so you all will have something, just in case I'm not back.

Have a good morning, everyone.
