Tom!  I'm up!

I get up at 5:15 to push Driver out door, but then spend until about 9 downstairs getting the news, breakfast and ahem a bit of a nap....

Let's see we have - Adrian's Used Truck Lot, Tree in semi-sick bay, Randy traveling like a hurricane, Sir Chicken doing a chop and saw gig part-time (geez, doesn't your job keep you waaaay busy enough?) and the rest of us wondering why it is so wet down south but nothing for the rest of us.

There is a front headed through here and going to get the rest of you in a day or so.  So far it has brought 70 degree temps, a little spit and a little breeze.  Haven't checked on the humidity.

Chemistry over.  Figured out where the body stores that 90%+ water we are made of - behind the nose.  (I am now storing it in Kleenex.)

And the grand finale - Huskers won big time on Sat.  Go Big Red.  These times they are a changing!  Makes me want to cheer.

Off to find Tree's tea - need to dunk my bagel.....

Mook, are you sure you're up?!

Adrian's rent-a-truck would work, he could make some extra bucks while in the military.

(everyone knows they don't pay well!)

Somebody please send some rain this way, while we don't like cutting grass;

we'd rather do that than listen to the "crunch" as we walk over the very dry yard!

The Chicken "Saw" it all? Hummmmm.

Tree, "On your feet and out into the Heat"!

Randy, slow down, you're giving the speed limit signs a headache!

Joe, Go back to bed!

Oh, and Mookie, please make sure all you dunk in Tree's tea is your beagle,

I'm sure he doesn't need anything else.

(maybe the Cats and Huskers should get together....GO CATS!)

Well, since I didn't get in to do lunch today, decided I'd start the supper menu early.  On the menu for this afternoon/evening:  Tuesday Mexican Fiesta:

Tacos, burritos (beef, beef & bean, beef enchilada style), chimichangas, Smoked chedder bacon burgers, Spanish rice, enchiladas, beef and chicken quesadillas, and appetizers of torilla chips w/picante sauce, salsa, or con queso.

And, there's plenty of iced tea (sweetened and unsweetened), soft drinks, vitamin waters, Gatorade, lemonade, whatever you'd like to drink, that is not alcoholic.

You all have a good evening, and take care.

Just don't do what I did (quite by accident, and amazing because it still fit) - send him to school on picture day in the same shirt he wore last year...

Of course, it did have one positive effect - his mother (who had left us by then) got her copy and promptly sent money for a new shirt.....

Sounds a bit like my Mom; for some strange reason, she knew what day that was every

year; I never wore the same shirt twice.(for things like that)

Good Wednesday morning, to one and all.  It's mighty warm here in Louisville this morning:  79 degrees, and very muggy.  Going for a high today in the mid to upper 90s.  Not really much of a chance of rain, until maybe tomorrow, with a 20% chance.  Then Friday and Saturday, a 30% chance.  Hope everyone had a good evening, and are ready for another day.

Coffee, juices, teas (cold and hot) are ready.  On the breakfast bar this morning:  sausage & biscuit sandwiches, cold cereal, toast, bagels, bear claws, and muffins.  There's also some fresh sliced cantaloupe and watermelon chunks.

You all have a great morning, and stay as cool as possile today.

......It's 70 degrees up here in Indiana {again}, this morning.  Bright sky in th east and again, it looks a bit hazy.  So it will get warm here too {again}, today.  Rain...?  Small percentage for next few days starting tonight.  30 to 40% range of it happening.  Still very dry.

Evening train {NS}, at McD's had 4 engines last evening even one of Jen's BNSF in consist....and lots of Jen's city's "Lincon Grain Inc." grain cars heading east.  They continue to go thru here quite often. Especially at this time of year.  The trailing cars in the consist {quite a few of them were tank cars hauling corn syrup.  See lots of them pulled thru here.

It's 73 and sunny in Carolina. We are still watching TS Hanna continue to move slowly to the northeast. The NOAA track shows it coming ashore at Georgetown and coming right over us, but I disagree. We'll see... Regards to everybody

Coffee is brewing, water is on for Tea.

Yawn.

Gonna need that tea this morning.

Rain is already forecast for Saturday here.  Hanna may simply complicate that.  It'll be a wet day on the railroad at any rate.

On the other hand, it's a very nice morning here today.

This is a gray area, so chevy big block/small block terms are borrowed.  A 351 Windsor or Cleavland are about the same size as a 302 so they get called "small block".  The 351M is a twin brother of a different mother to the 400 and 429.  Only used in trucks mid '70s to '82 and is quite larger, so to make it easy, "big block"...

Guess that means I probably shouldn't bang the garbage cans lids together.

Why don't you take the hammock for awhile; there shouldn't be anybody in there,

and it's in a quieter place.Wink [;)]

he may be hiding there.)

....Would you believe we received 15 min. of rain early last evening....Can't remember when it {weather system}, gave us any rain, at least 3 or 4 weeks ago.  The 15 min. equaled .045" of rain...Not much, but right now, we need any coming this way.  That little bit helped the yard, flowers and my many shrubs.

Construction of a city sports location now under way has been producing clouds of dust to the point I wonder how the machines continue to operate....{Clogged air cleaners, etc...}, and humans....Sure hope they are wearing masks.

And yesterday was the warmest day here this summer season....My instrument indicated 94.5 {the highest I saw it}, may have been a bit more....But it was hot and with humidity. {For this area}.

Good afternoon, folks.  I decided to take the morning off.  Mutt, thanks for starting things in here this morning; I appreciate it very much.  Joe, that's usually when you see things really interesting:  when you don't have the camera with you.  Know how that goes.

I've fixed sandwiches and fries for lunch:  grilled cheese, turkey & cheddar cheese, roast beef w/lettuce and tomato, and BLTs.

Will start on supper in about two hours:  corned beef brisket and cabbage (and cole slaw for anyone who doesn't care for boiled cabbage); and if there's anything any of you would like to have for supper, let me know, and I'll fix that also.

Now, I'm off to do at least one load of laundry, and maybe work a nap in somewhere.

Dan, hope you're feeling better this afternoon!!

Had to dope up "sniffles" after he came home from work today.  Talked to several other people that are having the same problem.  Going to be a long fall!

Tom!  Are your hatches battened?

Joe!  That's all, just Joe!

We had a cool front - in the 70's today for the I don't know, 2nd, 3rd (?) day and another one on the way tomorrow.  With rain?  I am pushing this east as fast as I can - so someone out there should be getting something besides heat and dry!

Hammock/couch look busy.  Guess I will check out the Sears catalogue and see about ordering that new recliner.  Will charge it to diner.....CW r u listening?  Mischief [:-,]

Keep tissues/nose drier pills/and cof meds close at hand.  Sleep sitting up and wear a gas mask when you go outside!

If I send the bill to Bergie, he will come to the diner and nail me to the recliner....must think of something else to do with the bill.  Maybe build my own.  I hear Sir Chicken has some extra lumber and da Boyz would help!  Model Car has a motor I could borrow (let the grass grow....) and a blanket from Tree's spare bedroom (Mom went home).  As soon as Dan gets all his wedding gifts, I can get a recliner from them!  Approve [^]

Got a text message from son tonight.  He has to work Friday (he's a federal firefighter), and they're expecting Hanna(?) on Saturday, which will likely keep him busy from the volunteer FF side of the house.

Mooks - You're more than welcome to a blanket from the spare bedroom.  Hope a southwestern scheme matches your decor....
