I find two problems we face here in the states that could have kept the mass killing at Virginia Tech from happening. (1.)  We let too many foreigners into this country and (2.) The government is too tough on gun control laws. If everyone would have been armed, this guy wouldn't have made it past firing the first few bullets before everyone else in the room would have unloaded their clips into that idiot....chuck

Afternoon Gang:

Philanrunt: Welcome back. It sounds like you had a great time. My uncle was at Hickem Field on 7 Dec. One of these days I'd like to go to the islands.

Fergie: How about some more info on the Hudson? Are the Alcos 244s or 251s?

Dick: It sounds like it's a good thig you are on a hill. We are getting some rain here and are expecting some more sever stormes later.

I made my last haul to the county barn this morning. That makes 4 Saturday, 3 Monday and 1 today. I'm starting to see the end of cleaning up. I think that the fall clean-up day maybe the last one that I'll have multiple loads. 91 years of farming and ranching does great a mess. Of course I didn't help by hauling all that free lumber in. I'm a pack rat.

Well Mary Ann and I are going in to Ft.Worth for here check up and we'll stop by Verison. I hope that that works out. So Long for now.

What a difference a year can make. This is my original trackplan for the layout I'm working on now. It was filed may 17th, 2006.

And this is how it turned out. This was filed April 4th, 2007.

Good afternoon everyone...37F and misty showers here.....winds have died down to 7 mph and streams, rivers and brooks have started to recede. We have not heard from Der John who lives right on the ocean, so I hope he is OK

FERGIE: So you will not be on the FOX anymore? That experiment that you mentioned sounds like they are monitoring the North Atlantic Conveyor. I know that Climatologists are very concerned that with all the glaciers melting at the North Polar region, enormous amounts of fresh water is flooding the polar region and may shut down the Conveyor.....and that is NOT a good thing at all for earth's weather patterns. Salt water is heavier and sinks, fresh water stays at the surface, so enough fresh water can, nad has in the far past, shut down the Conveyor with drastic results. I guess you won't have any great pics of bergs and landscape from the high Arctic anymore huh?  And you have a short memory laddie....at last New Year's party in the olde Coffee Shop, it was "you" and "Flip" and "Ed" dancing on top of the tables that really got us all in trouble!!!! Right Ryan, Mike, Paul, PC, RT, Jeff, Duke, Jim, Bill, Sue, Chuck, Kathy, Garry,JP, J.R., Luc and Der John? No Colby, you were not there...you were too young remember?

Later,

Good stormy afternoon Diners!  We’ve got a fair breeze of wind, as they say on the Rock.  Not very much rain though, we’ve had worse!  And NO SNOW!

<>There is a storm surge, so high tides are more than usual.  Here’s what high tide was like 8:30 this morning. And low tide this afternoon was this

So, thanks for the concern, Dick, but as I said in my email, I’ve been tied up with scratch building the Interlock Tower from that photo

I had no idea it was going to be so complex a thing to do.  Right now I’m building the stairs.  I’m wrapping them around the building, having moved the upper door one wall to the right.  I don’t want my staff being blown off that long straight one!

BTW, what goes inside an interlock tower?  I mean what sort of thing could I model in there.  The windows of the model show an empty expanse of floor!

Hey, DerJohn, this might give you a starting point:

Although the Faller original (Walthers Part # 272-12011) is in Horribly Oversized and currently not in stock, you probably could fake it fairly well in iNvisible scale... Wink [;)]

Good to hear that you & Kris weren't washed away up there.Smile [:)]

Hope that helps you figure out something!

Yeah thats what we need everyone carring guns to school that would really solve the problem to me the laws we have are about right in fact maybe a little tighter and this nut wouldn't have had a gun but the toss is he'd found a way anyway the bottom line is it wasn't the guns or the gun manurfacture it goes back to the goverment and us not being tougher on our kids and teaching them right and not slapping there hands or telling them to take a time out as punishment if your going to punish and teach them do something that they learn from and I'm not even trying to hint to beat the Censored [censored] out of them but back to where they learn by example and proper punishment if it means warming at behind so be it if it means no tv for a week or 2 so be it if it means what ever . I see kids too rude today and no disapline at all.

Paul says he's a pack rat.  What's that about????  A model railroader .... is also a pack rat?  .......  Has that happended to anybody else? .............nah!

...then Fergie talks about memory.  I've got a funny story about that topic.  I can't recall it now, however.

Jerry....... bet you like those DPM models.

Der ....................wow ..... what a view!  ......... that NS coast is just terrific!

Anybody have a trackside diner on their layouts???   I suppose I could put a sign on my restaurant naming it Elliots.  Where did that name originate?

That's alright Jim, didn't think you'd forgotten. I figured you had delays with it.

Well, still no work done on the mrr, yet. Hopefully I'll get started on the design this year.

And, I may have another job. I had a interview at my local Brookshire Brothers grocery store. It might not be a great paying job, but it would provide me with more money. Oh, I'll be a stocker/sacker/bagger if I do get the job. I ask for your prayers with this. As I can use the extra money.

Until next time, Robert

Afternoon Gang:

Robert: I haven,t said Welcome Back Sign - Welcome [#welcome]. I've been having problems with my ISP dropping the connection so I try to make my replys quick. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I will say a prayer for her. So you're after a new job. I'll have a good thought for you on that also.

Well I got the Verison Wireless now I have to up date my XP to sp2. I called my buddy Gary and he has the up date on disc and will bring it over tomorrow. I talked to the Verison tec and he said that on dial up it would take all night to down load the update. I may try it anyway.

No MRRing today so no progress to report.

It's raining now, coming down pretty hard as a mater of fact. I won't complain, we need it. At least the house isn't going up,down and side to side like Fergies doing.

Well I'll head out and see what I can get done else where. Maybe even get to the basement.

Howdy do all.

I spent 4hrs @ the shop on my day off to finish sanding and getting the party room ready for paint. Our first party for the room is may 5. I've found a new Doc but need to get a copy of my file before I can make a visit possible.

BTW- Didn't Colby's enging look a little PINK? Could've been the quality of the forum, but ya know..Evil [}:)]Laugh [(-D] Watch out Fergie! Someone might be trying to show ya up! LOL.

Jeffery- love those pics! You've come a long way & its looking really good.

Colby- All kidding aside I think those shots you took are cool. Keep up the good work.

My 8yr old told us that she wants to be baptised!! That is ssooo great and her grandfather who is a minister wants to do it. We're so proud.

RT-GREAT NEWS!!

SUE- Love the Lab. My 1st dog was a golden lab and she was a GREAT pal! She passed away a couple months after I moved to TX. Left her w/ my daughter in Kansas but I was the one she couldn't live without. Still miss her but when I get a bigger yard I'll get another one.

I rejoice in all your triumphs and am saddened at your trials. My prayers are with you all.

Check out this cool building in the next town over from us!  I'm thinking I might have to model it as a fire station for the layout sometime.  I model the late 1920's, so it would be perfect.  What do you think?
