The Brunswick CSX / MARC yards are great for CSX railfanning! Check my post "Brunswick Railfanning" for pictures.

Hey CSXers! Saw some CSX today!

A CSX Coal train and a CP mixed freight awaiting their crews in Wyoming yard.

CSX SD70MAC #4738. Note the flared radiators.

CSX AC4400CW #286 leads in a train of empty coal porters from West Olive into Wyoming yard.

The arriving train of empties passes the waiting loaded coal train and mixed freight. Not everyday you see 3 trains lined up in Wyoming yard.

And although it's not CSX, I can't help but like this shot.

CP 9511 makes good time with it's train as it screames along at track speed heading for Chicago.

Hello all,
I'm obviously new to the forum, but not model railroading. My favorite railroad has been Chessie ever since my uncle, a Chessie/B&O engineer, first showed me the big Cat. Sadly, CSX gobbled them up, but I have been a fan of CSX ever since.

I'm military and have been away from model railroading for almost 7 years, but I have recently come back and am amazed at the wealth of CSX stuff out there for us modelers. Strange, I remember being incredibly frustrated with the lack of CSX models when I first got into serious model railroading. It was almost as if CSX was the red-headed stepchild. Good times for sure.

I am now living in the Chicago area due to work and I saw my first Union Pacific train not long ago. Having spent most of my life living in VA and railfanning in Brunswick/Point of Rocks/Harpers Ferry, UP was something that always appeared in magazines and in product lines, never in person. Although neat to see something different, I really miss CSX, though. I digress...

Great to see a bunch of like-minded people to converse with. Hopefully we can spread the good that is CSX and its strong heritage, I'm tired of the UP/SP/ATSF/DRGW masses!

Since I now live around that area, I'll have to take some pictures and post them here for you to keep up with the activity around your old home.

Yeah, digital cameras are the best, they make everything so much simpler.

Guys, all my previous CSX pics at Woodstock have been 6-axel units. Well yesterday I hit 'pay dirt' and photographed a waiting westbound [empty] grain train headed by a pair of geeps, and also snapped a shot of the passing eastbound led by another geep! Here they are:

First, the meet - GP38-2 #2522 leads an eastbound mixed freight:

Westbound train of empty grain hoppers, led by GP40-2 #6012:

Side view of #6012 (note the offset number on the side of the cab):

Trailing unit - GP38-2 #2520:

Sayonara, enjoy!

Very nice Ken! I don't think I've ever seen a CSX Geep on a mainline train.

That's right Jonathon, a very infrequent sight indeed - exactly why I rushed back to my house to get the camera when I saw 6012 and 2520 parked there. (The eastbound train was an unexpected bonus[:P])

I was down by the shop in East Hgnt the othe day and what I saw was sooooo Cooooolllllllll............Chessie Paint......Think it was a geep as well but it was too far away and angled but the paint was definitally Chessie

Whoa! Ken, we NEVER see those around here, in the midst of all the AC4400's. GP38-2's and GP40-2's haven't showed up around here for quite some time. And not a one in the new scheme![:D][:)]

I saw this while driving to the art museum in Boston for a car show[:D]

It's a Gp40-2 that was pulling several UP reefers and some privately owned ones. As you can see, it was running long hood forward.

Nice shot Dave. Ahh yes I love the fading grey on a CSX GP40-2. Can't beat a local run in my opinion.

That is very rare to see a Chessie engine! I think there are only three active geeps with this paint scheme 9120,9121, 9122! The last one I seen was a few years ago in Baltimore when the train derailed in the tunnel spilling acid , and catching on fire! However I see rolling stock all the time!

That sounds like a pretty nice camera Jordan. Too bad you didn't get the CX7530. Oh well, I guess you won't have the same camera as me.[:p]

I am working in Glen Rock, PA and there is a CSX line right along the road I am working on! Today I saw a GP30RDMT, two GP40-2's, and a GP40RDMT in the yellow nose stealth paint leading a local . It sure beat looking at the same old NS Crap! Tommorrow I will have a camera. Great to see GP30's leading a consist.

Wow.

Two RDMT/Mother sets on one train? Or are those both different trains?

I'm glad this topic was brought back up, as it doesn't get much traffic anymore. Nice shots.

Bump...back to the top [:D]

Today I saw a CN locomotive on a CSX intermodal. Now, this far south and east, we never see CN locomotives. Strange. I will post pics later. That's all for now.
