Evening diners,

Let's try to get back to some normalcy,

I worked on my 150 ton KSC coal Gon the other day, I removed the underframe buttress to allow the trucks to swing more, I'm going to replace it with the underframes from old Walthers TOFC flat kits, they'll need shortening and putty along the edges but they'll work.

I've gotta add a message to my voice mail, right now it's just my number.

I was thinking "Howdy you've reached Steven [last name removed by moderator], if you're hearing this message it means I either can't answer the phone or I'm dodging you, or both! You know what the beep means: name, number, and reason for calling, if you can, shoot me a text too!"

I think it'd be a good mix of humor and seriousness.

I'll probably do it tomorrow.

In Jackson at a mechanic shop there's a brick nose F-Series parked out front, it's been sitting awhile and I think it might have a 351w in it, that or a BB 460, I come to this conclusion because it's got "EFI" badging and it's a dually rear axle. I'm going to poke around the local shops to see if I can get a better price on a 351w than at pull a part. There's a lot of abandoned cars at the local mechanic shops so I might get lucky.

Well I'm tired and church is in the morning (yay!) So goodnight everyone, and here's to tomorrow, whatever it brings!

PS Timmy, Imma victim of circumstances! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!Laugh

Mornin!

It appears Ulrich is in the "Users Online" section, perhaps he'll stop in, if he does put his drinks on my tab.

Well I just got out of church and now I'm heading to Sunday school, I'll be back later.

Stephen only on a very rare occasions does Alrich drink. Maybe a glass of wine or two every other Blue Moon. Me and the Canadians do though. Maybe be generous and buy him five. Me and the Canadians will split those up and share amongst ourselves. At that point don't worry about it. We will all pitch in and make sure Alrich has a tea or somethingLaughLaughLaugh

PS  We will see you here for lunch when you get back from church. I hope you remember to bring your fork!  The Canadians are grilling out with the Vikings game on (Jean Jacket WeatherBig Smile) on this beautiful fall dayDinnerBeerBeerBeer

Howdy doody folks,

Whacha grilling TF?

Are you "Grilling" as in with propane, or BBQing with charcoal? Or Smoking?

If the latter I'll take a rack of ribs, on a baking pan, no utensils, I've got an apron and towel.

Church was nice as always, do any of youse remember that fad from the 70s, I think they call them "Bell Bottom" pants, well they're apparently back in style, a girl at church was wearing a pair, they looked kinda funky.Whistling

2" Chuck Eyes over Kingsford Briquettes of course, gas adds no flavor. The Canadians know what they're doing here. TO BAD THE VIKINGS DON'T WITH THIER 82 MILLION DOLLAR QUARTER-BACKZip it!Zip it!Zip it!

Alrich is here. He came across the pond with his Quad group of Yamaha 5.6 liter V8 XF 425 XTO's on an 18-foot boat. He had that boat painted the week before and all the paint blew off in the wind.

Good thing hurricane season is over. He made it here in an hour and 47 minutes..... Those Yamahas are fast. He brought his wife's (Petra is it forgive me if I'm wrong) famous German Potato Salad. We are all very happy with that.

The Canadiens put some walleye on the grill too. Frozen from last year's ice fishing. Guess what they never put it in the freezer it was still frozen.

Well grab your fork and Dig In the Chuck Eyes are doneDinnerSmile, Wink & Grin

Personally I use Royal Oak Lump Charcoal, but Briquettes will do.

I'll take two of those chuck eyes, some sweet hickory BBQ sauce please!

I had to take the tailgate trim panel off my truck AGAIN, I'm using Gorilla Glue to hold the reflector on.

I might have to break it off and replace it with some JB Welded Black plexiglass.

Eventually I hope to change it out with one that has a Blue oval on it.

Maybe I can just glue a blue oval onto the black plexiglass.

Well I'll be around.

Dots - Sign

What does that mean?  Is it the same as SoapBox?  I looked at the emojis and all it says is dots on a sign.

Dots on a sign means I should have pitched my phone in the backyard before it got too late when I was doing good.

Okay, thanks.  Now I get it.  Sort of like "don't say that which if everyone did would destroy society."

Ummm, what?  Maybe I didn't get it.  I thought that you were saying that you thought twice about what you were going to say and decided against.

Was that incorrect?

You're assuming the drinks are alcoholic? I didn't get that impression.

My grandkids were here a little while ago and I served drinks to all of them.

Lemonade and iced tea.

If I'm not mistaken, the drinks served in the Diner are all virtual "pretend drinks" anyway. Where's the harm? Like Barbie and Ken drinks.

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend Smile

How was the Old Fashioned? Devil

I watched Tiger Woods win the Championship.  They let the winner of the match cool his heels while they gave Tiger a silver? putter.  The winner Rose won a nicer cup.

I used to watch a lot of golf, back in the day of Palmer, Nicholas, Trevino.  Never heard of any of these guys today except Woods and well...you know his story.  Tiger was looking old.   I guessed he was 52 instead of 42.  Rode hard and put away wet.

Put together a Blair Line team track ramp.  A laser kit, little tricky to use wood glue and hold everything in position and square.  Pictures later, but I am pleased with it.  I could have scratch built it from wood or styrene, but I don't have steady hands, so this turned out better than anything iI could do.

Fruit punch, iced tea, lemonade.

Come on Ed I have grandchildren too. That doesn't mean I feed them Whiskey...... Are you kidding me. Would you really think that?

I will say no more about this as I hope you won't!

I'm curious about your coupler conversion though on the front of your HO.  Do you think that would work in N scale.

Paul told me it was a dummy coupler and I saw what he was saying but I liked that 2-6-6-2 and bought it for a song.

Do you think I can do what you did in N-Scale

 Eveing Diners

Flo, the gang and I will have a Beer please and give Rick and Steven what they like.

Wife front some how between talking on the phone, having my daughter dropping by and wanting to shave her legs she only did one workout today. Hum, should be doing it 3 to 4 times a day. Yep, she is really trying. Whistling

My lungs hurt a little, I hope it is from all the cleaning I did. I should have worn a dust mask. But the kitchen is looking better.

Time for a new Kitchen Sink and Faust. I have been watching U-Tube videos on how to do it and for some reason I am a little worried about doing it? Well, I never did it before so that is why. I have to remind my self at one point in my life I never took a car engine a part, never cut a car in half and weld in a new section nor torn open a new BLI Steam engine and fixed it my self instead of sending back to BLI! No reason in the world I cannot do it.

 Later, Ken

Aah, yes, I remember my N scale days. It took me weeks to convert four Kato F3s. The whole shell had to come off IIRC. I ran mostly Microtrains as they had factory body-mounted couplers.

Just about every brass, and MANY plastic/hybrid HO steam locomotives need some kind of modification to get a front coupler on the pilot. I like to double-head. Manufacturers choose appearance over functionality. Many BLI locos come with dummy front couplers.

Every locomotive has to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I seem to recall some N scale steam being supplied with two different pilots? Maybe someone at Shapeways has a re-engineered pilot with a coupler pocket?

The whole conversation about beverages was taken out of context. 'Nuff said.

Mr. Otte will have his hands full come Monday morning.

Good Luck, Ed

Good evening once again.....

I spent the day working crew for the R&GV RR Museum Fall Foloage excursion on the Finger Lakes Railway today.  There were 3 passenger cars in use, one of them being the "Bar Car" and two regular passenger cars.  Two of the cars had working ventilation and since today only got up into the high 60's they were quite comfortable.  I, of course got to be car host in the one that didn't have functioning ventilation and got to be about 95°F inside.  I did tell many passengers that the "Boss" found out which car was going to be very hot and assigned the old guy with the heavy conductors suit to be the car host in that car......  I did have fun but I will tell you, walking 4 miles over at the Fieldhouse?  No problem, piece of cake!  Standing on my feet for 7 hours?  Excruciatingly painfull!!!  This old man is beat!

So Ken, your going to put in a new kitchen sink while listening to Faust????  I love that opera, but Der Ring Das Nibelungen might be more appropriate.............

No word on my sister yet.  Did get two emails early this morning letting me know that two of my NMRA Division Members, one of which was a close friend, died.......

Just to comment on the previous conversations of yesterday one more time......

Hope you all have a good night!
