Been awhile since I've visited the diner. A cappucino with a proof rating would do me nicely. Well summer is here in northern Nevada...at 12:30 PM it's 86 degrees and 9% humidity under a cloudless cobalt blue sky. Forecast for 93 today.
It's been a bear of a week. Issues with the employer again. Same company (a subsidiary from before) different facility...but same garbage. Being threatened by them because of a need for basic restrictions. One write up already. Why do employers insist on torture till you can prove a health problem? If I wanted that...I could move to the Middle East. Anyway...I hope I can get my restrictions before I get written up again. Too bad Nevada doesn't enforce their labor laws...oh right...they have no labor laws of their own. So...I'm back on meds again to help manage anxiety and stress so I don't drop over with a stroke or heart attack. Okay...enough of that.
I think I'll go talk to my dog...she's smarter than any ten managers at work...combined.

Foot Front. When the Foot Ulicer Nures first saw the wound she said it was a Infected Ulicer. After she cleaned off the callous and it took her a while the wound it self is not infected!
She gave me tips on how to keep the callous in check and what it should look like after I am done. That helped a lot, really have not wanted to mess with it with not being sure what I was doing.
There is still a chances there is tunneling ulicer. Area around the wound is some what soft. So she set me up with the Leg Ulices Clinic when I had a real infected ulicer. That one took 21 skin grafts to heal.
Galaxy I as well hope he is OK. But remember this not the first time he had vanish from the dinner. One time I think he was MIA for 2 months. Then I saw he was on the site by looking at users on line and repoted it here in the dinner. Shortly there after he was back.

Good evening diners, Time for a grilled hotdog wrapped in bacon, yum.
Been very anxious since Monday evening when our 10 yr. old Airedale had a major seizure. A trip to the emergency vet and the regular vet haven't helped much. She has been a wonderful dog for a rescue, very friendly and well trained. One problem with the breed is thy don't tend to live much past 10 or 11.
Cleaned up the drier vent mess today and then found out the regional land fill closes promptly at 4 PM. Back tomorrow morning to get rid of the demo wastes.
On the train front, six soup cans are resting on an other section of road bed. Plan to kerf more Homosote road bed for the second curve for the double main this evening.

i didn't get to see a train yesterday. Someone had mentioned in a different thread some time ago about every time they approached a grade crossing that they were hoping the gates would go down so they could watch the train. Boy, is that ever true. Every crossing I get to I'm hoping there's a train "in the block" and the gates will go down just as I get there and I'll "be forced" to sit and watch a train go by....in the front row!
Usually when it does happen, I get stuck right behind a semi and my whole view is blocked. Bummer!
Once I was on a little dirt road at a crossing with nothing more than cross bucks to note the crossing. I saw a train approaching and just stopped, put the car in neutral, set the brake, and waited. I was rewarded with a close up view of a U-50C. That was a treat! The poor engineer probably thought I was going to commit suicide or something crazy like that.
Lion: Those are nice pics. You should post them on WPF that JaBear starts every week. I especially like the white with (dodger) blue train against the orange foliage. OK, it's not really Dodger blue, but hey, got a plug in for the team and it's close enough.

Happy Friday! My daughter and one of her college roommates will be dropping by over the weekend, so it's a lobster dinner tonight! Yummy!
My bicycle wheel will be in the shop for a while, as they are out of that particular size spoke and have to order more. I've still got the mountain bike, and we'll be going up to Bar Harbor, Maine, early next week anyway. So, I'll ride that over the weekend and when we get back the road bike wheel should be ready.
Still nothing on the train front. I just haven't felt like it. The first step will be to clean up the mess of tools, materials and parts all over the train room floor. It won't take long, but it won't be any fun, either.

By the time I got on the computer last night to check out what was going on and read through a hundred or so emails, it was midnight, so I decided to get to bed...
Yesterday was a long but fun day. Went to a friends house to do an operating session. I found my new cab 6 NCE throttle worked great. Had it for close to a year and this is the first time I have actually used it. I then headed over to Subway to buy something for supper and stopped in at RIT to "steal" a couple kWh of electric for the PiP (they offer free charging to the public in one of their parking lots), and they are right on the way from where I was to the museum. That gave me enough EV range to drive out the museum and still have 5.5 miles left to climb the hill near the museum on the way home saving a couple miles for the last leg back to my house here in Geneva...
Playing with the 12" to the foot scale trains was fun also. Tomorrow is opening day out there, so I will be there both Saturday and Sunday on Train Crew.

First let me say thank you to all that wished me good luck with the foot! VA is starting to get on the ball at this point. I am getting custom arch supports for my shoes. My feet are now totaly flat, hum could it be because my unit made me run 5 miles all most everyday? The Foot ulicer thinks that is part of the reason I get such bad callous, my feet roll inwards. Should get the new shoes this Thursday.
Work, if you could call it that today! I would not be shocked at all if Marv did not call Saturday and said close down the store! I only had 1 customer the whole day and it was a Warranty claim! It might have to do with all the rain we are getting, lot of areas are flooding that normaly do not flood.

1 The guy they wanted to hire to replaces Dave did not take the job.
2 Dave has requested 2 weeks off because of the condtion he is in.Well, that is the smartest thing he has done so far. Said he will be in the Hospital for tests. A few people think it is for Rehab, could be but I still lean toward mental health problems.
Bright side for me? I will get to work a few more 6 days weeks and I need the overtime to get the ends just to wave at each other. Down Side? Paul the GM will be running my store! I am sure he will come up with a Ken Do List!
Train Front. I think I all most have the bugs out of my damaged E-6 B unit. (It was dropped years ago) Any tips on how to Solder with out get Glops on the wire?
Next project will be to try to get the sound going again on my BLI Blue Line RSD. Sound works on DC, but not DCC and I have reset the sound decoder more times than I count!

Well, I'm back,,,,, Did anyone miss me ?? No, I didn't think so.
My Wife and I were down to my Son's place west of Billings for a week. He had bought tickets for us, (him and me) to go to a Gordon Lightfoot Concert as a Father's Day present for me. It was a great preformance and a beautiful venue. Full house as well. That was on Thursday evening and we left for home yesterday shortly before noon and got home about 9:00pm.
I got to visit with John at Jim's Junction in Billings again and picked up a few items, mainly Intermountain couples and a couple pkds of 70 ton trucks. I did get and Oxford
model of a 49 Mercury, this is a very nice model and I had one just like it in real life. I was more impressed with it compared to the way CMW vehicles have really gone down hill lately. What don't I get here.>>> CMW ( Classis Metal Works) and their vehicles are now a cheap plastic, iffy paint and wheels that will barely turn. The older ones I have were great but if this is now their standard, I"M DONE WITH THEM.
Also got a few items at Harbour Frieght as we don't have one of those up here, always a great place to visit and you never come away empty handed.
Helped my Son with a few of his home projects and he is planning on building a retro slot car track layout. That should be fun.

It seems a lot of you are wondering where I have been.
To those who guessed I was in the hospital, you were right.
after the huge cost insurances wanted for meds that actually work, no longer being affordable to me, since Jan we ahve been playing russian roulette with meds to see hwat will work, and what will work paycheck wise. SOOOOO..
They changed my plan.
Anyway, It took 5.5 months, but I finally had a mental health breakdown!
I wound up in the ER and asked for psych eval, and though I appeared "fine". The ER Doc THOUGHT I was a herion addicfa as it showed on 2 testings that i had methodone in my system!!!
Anyway, thouhgt I was VOLUNTARILY asking to go to CPEP {Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program}, THEY INVOLUNTARILY admitted me, meaning I was kept solely in a n ER room wiht security guard at all imes untilhte "found a bed" at a psych facility. They first wnated to send me Buffalo {4.5 hours away} and then I, and my OH SCReAMED, and got Cooperstown, NY {1.5 hours} away}.
They kept me a few days,and the Dr talked to manufacturer of meds THAT WORK on me, but are EXPENSIVE to me {$200/month} to get them free to low cost for me. PROBLEM IS it won't work with MY insurance!!!!!!
SO, after a total mental health breakdown, a 2 day stay in the ER with no food, lucky to have a porta potty, and NO MEDS for 3 days, I gto transferred to Cooperstown, a small quiter facility that I am used to at General Hospital.
Then today they kick me out, but I declared I wasn't going anywhere Until MOH got there/
They also treated me like a 2 or 2.5 years old as they WOULD NOT allow me to set up my oown CPAP machine {DUH! I CAN do it!}, refused to let me keep the CPAP-made bag fro it, either. Respiratoy had to do it the first nihgt, then hte nurses had to come set it up, after TEN years with JUST this unit{15 years total}, I THINK i can set it up!!! THEN they were concerned i COULDN'T do hte O2 THTA too, for nigh on what, 12 years.
Basically htey threw me out to the old system, which was FAILING me! same old, same old. They DID getg me the refills on the old WORKING MED {expensive on insurancce {$875/month for insurance, $200 for me to pay}.
Well, i Do NOT feel in the spirirt out a new word, so i will bow out here.
I look like a pin cushion from IV, blood work, etc. Adn I have had BP taken so many times lately it sin't funny.
I am glad to be out of there, but if they think htey solved my problems, they didn't!!!
Maybe I will talk later, rihgt now, gooing back to bed....

Good morning everyone, and welcome back Galaxy! Sorry to hear of your troubles with medical system, but I'm glad you're out of the hospital and back with us.
Well, we had had a fine lobster dinner, with steamers and corn, and then we drove the couple of miles to the ice cream place. Since I had that tooth pulled, I've avoided my favorite ice creams because of the chips, but it's healed up enough now for Black Raspberry Chip. Yummy.
It looks like we'll be getting some more rain tonight and for the next couple of days. Hopefully, there will be some dry interludes for biking.

Today was my first bike ride today in over two weeks. Between spending 3-4 days a week for the last three weeks on the road, usually in a time zone three hours removed from my home base; having the grandkids in the house; and daytime temperatures in excess of 110 degrees, there has been no time for bike rides or train work. I am still on east coast time, so I was awake at 4:00am this morning so I set out for an early morning ride. Because it is so dry, we get large fluctuations in the temperature. Even though it is supposed to hit 111 today, it was only 75 at 5:30am. (That's right, a 35 degree spread for the day.) It does heat up quickly though. It is now 8:00 and is already 90.

First Dry Day We Have Had This Week! About time, all this rain and having a septic tank is not that fun.
Wife and Daughter Dropped By Work Today. That was kind of fun, reason was Sharon does not like the Memory Foam Mattress I got her when she got married. Said it was to hard? This mattress to me is the softest mattress we carry? First time she got married I got her a Kingsdown Mattress and they are the best. Hers would have cost $3000.00 and worth every penny! She let Chuck, her X keep it.

You're back! Sorry to hear about your troubles, but we are all glad you are once again able to post! Hope they get the Rx problem worked out for you soon. I even checked out all the obituaries down in the southern Tier of NY looking to make sure you weren't listed.... You should be getting a card from me early next week. We had a great opening day out at the museum today. Over 200 visitors and most opf them were new ones. A lot of great comments and happy patrons! The schedule and tours worked out well, and there will be tweeking of lots of things as we move through the season. I have to be back out there by 9AM for crew call tomorrow...... We didn't make the last run of the day today... No more visitors at that time and it was starting to lightly rain. The people out there today were much more focused on trains thgan the folks we usually get. A lot of good questions about how trains run, how things work, and how to stay safe around them. My kind of crowd as those are the type of questions I love to answer.

I'm recovering from yesterday's trip to watch trains in Syracuse. Due to family obligations, I get little time to go railfanning, except in the Sayre, PA area on doctor's visits. I arrived later than planned, and stayed till dark, so I wasn't home till 11:30. At least I got some weeding done today. Maybe Ill look at some of the pics tomorrow, but it's Father's Day, which will be busy, and some of the pics were shot using my trusty old Minolta film camera instead of a digital. Hopefully I'll get back there later this summer.
Had I been changed to "voluntary admission status", I COULD have been sent to Uncle Bob's SAyre, PA psych unit, but as it is out of state, I cannot go INVOLUNTARILY. They REFUSED to change my status. I can underwstnad someone taking aginst thier will to Psych ward, but I showed up VOLUNTARILY and ASKED to be admited, so WHY "involuntarily commit me"??

To Whomever asked about generic: The med IS expensive {$850-$1k depending on pharmacy}. I would have a co-pay of $200/month. NOW, it HAS finally gone generic, BUT the generic version is a $142 co-pay TO ME out of pocket ALMOST THE SAME. WHY? BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!!
Remember, MY COPAYS went from $150/YEAR to $575/MONTH!!!!!! I CANNOT affford THAT.
My mental health meltdown is only the beginning the problems IF I cannnot get the meds THAT WORK for me!!!!!!!
It has been since 2008 That I was ast hospitalized in the CPEP psych unit at General Hospital. But NO beds were available THIS time.
At the ER in the hospital {without a Psych ward} I was at, They washed their hands of me and refused me meds, refused to feed me {i wasn't techincally a patient-just a hold-over}. I was treated like the red-headed leprosotic stepchild. Had MOH NOT gone down to the Patient Advocate, who made a few things happen, i WOULD have strarted throwing things {the ONLY hting that kept me form it was I didn't want to get straped down, OR taken t o jail to be strapped down}. Remember I WENT VOLUNTARILY, but was placce on involuntary status {which meant ALL my rigjts were taken away form me..you are person non-grata. ESPECIALLY at the "holding ER". I COULD OT sleep on the gurney. After one night,MOH got the patient advocate to get me a bed, NOT a gurney {they are 2" foam mat on whch to sleep}. They HAD to leave gthe potty chair as I was NOT allowed ot leave the ER room. I was held as a Prisoner.
Grrrr.
Once at the psych ward, you are naturally locked in to avoid elopment.
You have 72 hours guaranteed to see a psychiatrist from time of involuntary admittance, which DID happen for me. BUT he is NOT happy with my pain meds I am prescribed as he considers them "end of life" meds?????? He was nice enough, but....
well, enough, problem IS if we don't solve the problem, I will be right back here into mental meltdown oin a few months.
I see hte mentl health counselor and psychiatrist this week to my county's mental health clininc. {I DO hat already} Apparnelty the DOCTOR has to ask for the discounted deal from the manufacturer.
I don't know.
