Sir Madog

Good news on my end! I just received a call that my new glasses are ready to be picked up! Won´t be able to go there today or tomorrow, but Wednesday seems to be the day they will bring me back into a normal life again!

I am so happy - feel like huggin´ the whole world (Petra will have to suffice Mischief)

Ulrich ... Glad to hear the news. After you get them, ask Petra to take a selfie including you with your new glasses.

Now Ulrich can make a spectacle of himself.  Geeked

Rob ...  I'm sorry to learn about Melody. How old was she?

Rob: a horse is a horse of course, of course...sorry to hear her life is now over. BUT I suspected that last night when you mentioned it. Didn't say anything as I didn't want to jinx it.

Ulrich: glad We {I, too} could be of help! Lets see the peepers you got! and include Petra as mentioned as we wnat to see the love of your life! If she is camera shy, at least get her to take one of you with the new peepers on your face!

Mr. Dispatcher:usually its only the L knee that bothers me, but on sometimes the R one does too,and it gets really creanky when it acts up.Arthritis is no fun!

RAY: hope your insurance check covefrs your damage...

YGW:I don't knwo the R i want healed completely and I think on April 17th I will be allwoed to drive again, but too much longer and I will put it off for the summer and deal with the pain I already got from the impingement {look it up if you don't know it!}and do it in the fall.

Yes, Garry, we hope Ulrich will make a spectacle of himself, especially if he sends us a pic!

We did Cardiology today, adn PT.

Then went to FIL's who was suppose to do something, but didn't {naturally with him} and we were supposed to do something ,but as usual, FIL is STUBBORN and didn't do what he was supposed to! SO we could not do what we were supposed to do! MOH has to be involved and now back to work won't have much time to do things now.GRRR!

I received some instructions in the mail. TO the sender, I got it and will see where best suited! Will let you know if i can. Thanks!

well, I think time for a nap...been a long eventful day.

 Afternoon Dinners

 Flo, Beer for everyone! Yes

Just got back fron the VA Podiatrist and got way better news than I was hoping for. My last Dr Visit with my GP MD, he could not find a pulse in my right foot! Sigh I knew what that meant, I was heading down the road Jefferey went.

Today the Podiatrist found the pulse with not a problem and said it was good and strong! My feet are in good shape for a diabetic. It had been weighting on me heavly for the last few weeks.

YGW You are right, 68 and a 69 Charger. Mine is the Viper Red 69 Charger when it had a 426 in it. I replaced it with the Blown 440 in my icon. The Blue Charger is a friends car I did when I ran the body shop.

This is what I started with.

Person in the phots is Allen, my friend.

And When done at my house.

 Later, Ken

Sorry about your horse, Rob.

Nice to hear you again Ulrich.

Nothing much happening today maybe something will happen tomorrow.

Way too hot today in the mid 80s with no air conditioning, we need to fix leaks again and sometime down the line to buy new pads. I got two headaches because of the temperature. One of the reasons I hate summer.

Lunchtime!

Flo, I´ll go for a Barry-sized burger with a wheel barrow-load of fries and add an RBF to wash all of that down!

Petra and I are just back from picking up the glasses! How wonderful the world is when you can see it again! I need a couple of day for my eyes to get adjusted, but from wgat I can tell now, the new spectacles do what I expected them to do.

I am so happy!

Without your help, this would not have been possible! Thank you o much!

The past weeks have been the worst of my life - even those day when I was in hospital with heart issue have not been that bad. I am so glad it´s over now!

Oh, here is the selfie - Petra is a little camera-shy, but I´ll see to it I can take a picture of her (with me at her side).

Have a good one and blessings to all!

Edit: I forgot to mention, that I got a special Easter discount on the frame, so the piggy bank is well fed for the next time!

Good Morning Diners,

Flo, I'll have my usual gigantic cup of coffee with lots of cream, please.

Rob:  Very sad to hear about the loss of your horse.  Was she the only horse you have?

Getting ready to go to work.  Its a good feeling.

Snow on the ground from yesterday and expecting thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.  Go figure!

Tonight I'm going to an event with the organization who issued the statement opposing the submitted interior design legislation.  I don't expect any confrontation, but I will defend our position if anyone inquires or says something uninformed.  I understand this doesn't mean anything to you all, but I'm just sharing.

Well, got to get going.  Everyone have a terrific day.

i hope everyone is OK, safe, and warm.

Less is more,...more or less!

Ulrich!

YOU MEAN I

DON'T HAVE

TO TYPE

IN BIG

LETTERS

ANYMORE? LOL

Glad to see you got your new peepers, and do sneak one of Petra in if you can! we know who your benfactors are for glasses, now we want to see your personal cook, since you brag all the time! MOH is making  a rather LARGE REAL Black Forrest Cake Complete with vodka-soaked cherries, and some Kirschwasser for a friend couple's "birthday party bash" to celebrate hitting 65 &60 this summer. My we are all getting old!

Glad to know you are also 'well fed' for the next pair next time! That will become a belssing in disguise when you need them down the road!

Obviously the timing was right from when you ordered them to the time the funds got to you, as I Was worried about the funds being late to you, wiationg for the doanations and the checks to clear..

In other news: there isn't any right now!

That could be good news or bad news.

Oh. MOH went officially back to work today, but will still have family Medical leave days on the days I have appts. So, Like Thursday I have the pulmonologist and PT, and some banking to do so MOH can run me around. Maybe grocery shopping too.?

IT is BORING when you cannot yet drive anywhere by yourself!

oh well,

later.

Good morining. ... I'll have a carmel pecan roll and coffee please.

Ulrich .... You look great!.. You look like a million dollars (not Euros) ... If Petra is camera shy, we won't push the idea of a photo. However, if can talk her into baking good food for the diner, we'll be happy. What is the German equivalent of hot cross buns if there is one? If Petra does that, make sure you deliver when Barry is not in the diner because he will eat all of them.

UP831 ...  You are correct that we don't know what you are talking about regarding tonoght's event. I hope it goes okay for you.

Barry ... Feel free to tell more about the kits you are assembling.

We're having nice spring weather yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  So it is time for outdoor work. After that, we get rain and cold weather for a few days.

I had some model railroad time last night, and I worked on my ore car project.

I think you were the one who asked about my Bar Mills Kit I got for Xmas.

What with MOhs surgery in January, my pre-surgery twice and surgery, {and the what-not going on} this has NOT been a winter to do such a thing!  I have even totally forgotten where I put it!

Garry - that´ll be "Karfreitagsbrötchen" in German - Good Friday Rolls. Never heard of them before, but I am sure Petra can make them (incl. a sper big one for Barry, the man with an iron-clad stomach!)

I just heard it in the news - a Germanwings Airbus 320 crashed in the French Alps, leaving 150 people dead. No survivors! How terrible! The cause is not yet known, but a terrorit attack ha been excluded.

A silent prayer for the victims and those left behind!

***Garry, Melody was 21. I expected her to be around for many years to come. Completely unexpected.

***Ulrich, so glad you have the new glasses and that they are going to work for you.GeekedThumbs Up

Afternoon folks!

Chloe, I'll have a reuben sandwich, french fries, and a tall glass of lemonade for lunch please.

Who was that digified gentleman that was ion here earlier with the new spectacles???  Oh, that is Ulrich!  Didn't recognize him at first...  Glad the glasses are doing their job well.  Hope and pray you will be able to see well with them for many years!

Went over to Lowes this morning to buy a new bathroom faucet.  Then headed over to Country Max to buy an Aquarium Stand for my 20H tank.  That will be the next big job before the contractor starts to gut the living room.  The only thing they had set me back a little over $100.  That is about what I spent on a steel stand for the 100 gal one my son got for me for free (about 20 years ago...).  Once the room is rebuilt, the walls painted, and a new carpet put in, I plan to get the 100gal back up and running.  For now everything will be sitting in my (very crowded) dining room/office space.

Have to drive to the Rochester Airport this evening to pick up my sister...  I know Claude the cat will be very happy when she arrives!

Later!

Good evening.

I just heard from JohnBoy ... Sorry to say he had very serious complications during the operation on March 11, and he was in the hospital 12 days instead of just 1 day. He is home now, but he has lost much weight and is very weak. Keep him in your prayers.

Hi Everyone,

Already indulging a bit.

The work week is over. I'm gradually getting accustomed to the day shift and the new facility. I've been asked by a number of people there what I thought of the job, I say...same crap, different warehouse. Oh well...c'est le vie. But some things interesting did happen today...3 of the Kiva robots crashed this afternoon, all within 20 minutes. Network problems...so they say. Anyway. Those Kiva's are definitely entertaining. Guided by barcodes on the floor and RF signals. I made a comment to one of the bot techs about the Kiva's. If they ever become self aware...they will go on strike, hum around with signs, and demand wages for all the senseless running around they do for the idiot humans they've been enslaved to.

Okay. Enough of my warped humor. Looking forward to a weekend of tinkering with the layout. And yes...and I need to finish a home repair too. Maybe. just maybe...I might be able to talk myself in a 150 mile round trip to Cabella's, west of Reno this week...maybe stop at Hobby Lobby on the way home. If...a BIG if...I can talk myself into the drive. We'll see.

Ah...tired...time for bed.

Good night.

Hello Railfans! Flo - a usual please.

RR Front - Still temporarily closed. Stay tuned.

In General - I havent been around much with all thats going on here. So I havent been keeping up with everyone. Heck, i have no clue who this weeks grand poo-bah is, or even what todays Diner Blue Plate Special is! I hope you folks are all doing ok though.

Wont be long (another week or so) before im going to have to pack up this here puter. Which means i wont be online for a while. Ya see, where im going they still pay for sunshine to be pumped in. Sidewalks get rolled up at night. And you still walk to school, uphill,  in the snow (both ways).

Just wanted to stop in and say howdy to everyone. Read a couple posts as i can. Maybe reply to a few. I will stop in again soon.

Cheers!

Good Morning!

I am very sad to hear about Johnboy´s ongoing health issues. I was hoping he´d be relieved from much of his swallowing problem by this surgery he had. I´ll light up a candle for him.

Garry - thank you for letting us now.

It´ll be a sunny day here, not really warm though. I am pondering to go for a walk with Petra - to enjoy the regained freedom of moving around!

I managed to take a pic of Petra and me.

Petra will kill me if she says that pic in here, so please don´t tell her!

Ulrich,

Really glad You have Your glasses.....and I do know, what it is like to have trouble seeing. I have glaucoma and without light and my glasses, a lot of things are just too blury. Too much light and I can't see at all. This just happened over the past five year's. I needed glasses to drive at night, to see far....now I can see far, but can't see close. Will be 73 this year, so I just keep plugging. I'm not one to talk about my health issue's, but I've had my share of operations....six in fact on my right shoulder alone, which has now developed arthritis around the five pins I have holding it together. Gift from Vietnam in 67'. Had bladder cancer surgery in 99', but that's another story, along with other's. In my talks with Jeffery Wimberly, which We had a few, I admired him for His determination, compasion and fortitude and did not want sympathy.

Enjoy Your renewed gift of seeing.

Take Care! Big Smile

Regarding JohnBoy .... I did reply to the email he sent to me, but did not hear back yet. I did not post the details he explained in the email I received yesterday because this is a public forum. I will say the complications during surgery were extremely serious.

I'm glad to see the lighted candles and prayers for our fellow model railroader, JohnBoy.

Ulrich ... I can tell you have much to be proud of, but we won't tell Petra what you did. You might not fit in the doghouse.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal with brown sugar, a couple breakfast sausage links, and a pot of Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast Coffee for my R&GV RR Mug.  Thank you Ma'am.

Ulrich, your secret is safe with us.  We certainly don't want to get you in trouble with the better half! WhistlingLaugh  I'd say you are a well blessed gentleman!

Currently 37°F outside this morning with a high around 48°F with some wind and rain this afternoon.  My son is coming over shortly to see if we can dig out the small trailer I have.  It still sits in a foot of sn*w in my main driveway....  The sn*w is more likely a solid block of ice at the moment.  His wife needs to borrow it to pick up a load of Girl Scout cookies today....  Huh?  No not just for them, she is one of the leaders of the Troop and she is picking all the boxes up for all the girls in the troop....  I will see if I can find a good small tarp and a bunch of bungie cords for her to use as well.  I finally got the block of ice in front of the door to my back shed dug out yesterday so I can actually get it there.

Garry, thanks for the update on Johnboy!  I remember him saying the surgery posed some serious risks.  Do hope he recovers well!!!  I am keeping him in my prayers....

I better get moving as this will be a busy day around here!  Later...
