TMarsh ...Where’s my cane?... Welp, got the phone bill. The one I cancelled and they OWE me almost $47. YES!!!! Finally. I wonder how long it will take them to send it to me. I also wonder if I can charge them a late fee.
Todd: You can borrow one cane of mine! I have my "around the house" bamboo cane, my "going out metal cane" {always in the van}, My "old timey" wooden sculpted cane {also in the van} and an extra "going out" metal cane, along with 2 "canes w/seats", and na extra carved wooden one {for MOH}.
todd: isn't it NICE when the "utes" {utilities} owe you money? NYSEG {NY State Electric {and} Gas} FINALLY figured out that after two years of "giving us" {back} 5 FREE months {really pre-paid} and ONE month NEARLY FREE {like a $2.53 bill} FOr TWO YEARS in a row at "cleanup budget billing time", they decide MAYBE they should REDUCE our Monthly BUdget Payment!
SO they cut it by 1/3!!! but watch them get nervous again, so I expect it to go back up! One bill higher than your budgeted amount, and They are on alert, 2 months higher and they jack it up by 25% at least. ANd get this: they only read the meter ONCE every OTHER month! They get really nervous when the "estimated monthly bill" is higher than your budget, regardelss of what the ACTUAL read {next} month says!
~The new cell phones won't come with a "to pay" bill for about 4 months as they OWED us LOTS of money on the "prepaid" plans we were on. Like 4 months worth "free" , plus I was about to re-up for another $108 so the next month is nearly "free" too! If not for that, I wouldn't have switched! We DO have to pay the tablet fee of $10 + fees/taxes but who's counting?
I see we have some "work" being done onthe forums, so I MAY get my mronign greeting In before they cut it off, so I MAY see yous in the early A of M!
Dinner was fried catfish {surf} and top round beef{turf}, mixed veggies and "tomato/basil/mozzarella" salad! Followed up by Orange Creme 3 layer cake!
wow a ways down the page!
Went to a phone class, but it was full and so Friday at 5pm, maybe we BOTH can go then.

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Vanilla Almond Crunch cereal with skim milk, and a cup (pot) of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR Mug please...
Sun is out right at the moment, but won't last long.... Very cloudy today here in the Finger lakes with a prediction of "Scattered Thundershowerrs late this afternoon and evening". What that means is as soon as I get the sound system all set up down at church outside in the parking lot, the thunderstorms will begin and there will be a mad scramble to un plug and get the equipment under shelter and everyone moved inside so the sun can come up and dry up all the rain, "and the eensy weensy spider can...."
Felt good yesterday to spend a day "playing" with trains. Need to do that more often, I think. I have yet to hear back from one of theMLK members who is supposedly making plans for us to havfe our Summer Picnic at the Yacht Club on Seneca Lake next Tuesday.... I'll have yo call him and see if the very big TWC is messing up again... getting late to get it alol togethe. Also need to catch up on a pile of other items that I havce not gotten to until now (that should have gotten done a copuple weeks ago). Also need to finish mowing the lawn and get the PiP packed with all the sound equipment that we may not use tonight....
Catch up to you later!

Good morning. It's 78° with 92% humidity. The high will be 92° with a small chance of rain. with Not much going on today. Just waiting on the Home Health nurse to call so I'm not doing anything that can't be interrupted. I really get irked when I'm in the middle of a critical project and somebody demands that I be elsewhere or do something for them that they should have had done yesterday. So today I'll be watching another movie or two. I'm sure something else will turn up.
Good morning! Played hockey last night. As expected, it was just delightful in the rink. Yeah, my glasses steamed up as soon as I walked outside after the game. 80s and humid yesterday and today, with the AC on at home for the first time this year.
As you might expect, any group that would have me as their goalie isn't playing at too high a level. Last night I had a shutout, and we won 17-14. Huh? Yeah, we define a "Tuesday Night Shutout" as anything less than 10 goals, but when I turned 65 I became eligible for the "Senior Shutout" as anything less than 12 1/2 goals, with a one-goal-per-birthday increase after that.

Good evening. It's still 80+ here and very humid. We got a little rain, just two tenths of an inch.I spent some time this afternoon making up and printing index cards for my floppy disk storage cases. Seven cases, seven index cards. Normally I'd have to make up a template card from scratch but I got lucky. One of the cases had an unmarked factory index card in it so I scanned it and that became my template. It was an easy matter from there to use MS Paint to type the diskette titles onto it and then print it on card stock then blank the titles and start again for the next case. Each index card has two columns of lines for titles. The title on side A goes on a line in the left column and the title for side B (if any) goes in the column on the right.I knocked an FP7 off the layout while working on the labels. Only minimal damage. The horn was broken off. So when I can afford it I'll have to get some horns unless I luck out and find some here.Other than the above I've been watching some movies. Got 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol' going right now.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Evenin'folks!
Janie I could use a refil for the decaf please...
Spent the day in Rochester at an operating session. The guy who hosted it is new to operations so it is a work in progress. He is off to a great start! There were 4 of us there today. Two have had a lot of experience with operations and two of us have had some, but are certainly not experts. His layout is well layed out, makes sense right from the start, and is big enough to provide constant fun. His layout will be oin the tour when the Division hosts the Region Convention next year.
While I was there some severe Thunderstorms hit about 5 or so miles away. No damage where we were and the lights didn't even go out or flicker... However about 1,400 homes were without power for a while and several large trees were down. As a matter of fact there is a storm rolling in here in Geneva right now... I'll catch you all tomorrow!
Hi Guys
Has been hot and stormy today. I was on the bike from 5am until close to 7:30. Later in the day the wife and I went to a bike store where I picked up some needed tools to work on my bike ( and hers ) I am always happy to add any new tool to my shop. I have some coming tomorrow and Friday also.
The fella thatr is the manager wants me to come in sometime on Friday to talk about a possible job. I have to tell you guys Im excidted as Its something I have done before ( but with a different place ) so am happy to maybe have a new job.
Well I may go lie down now and debate if I want to get up for a ride, lol
Evening Dinners! Flo, Pleases. For a day off today blew! Main thing today was to get my Town Car back with the new radiator installed! While I had the car there I asked Bob to check the codes and see why the ABS light and Air Ride Waring's where on. Called today and Bob told me the radiator was in and he had no problems and the bill was $15.00 less than he told me it would be! Asked him about the ABS and Air Ride? Well he forgot to have the ABS scanned but that is easy. Computer would not read Air Ride codes but it did a self Diagnostics and the Air Compressor would not turn on. No big shock there! Other tad of good news, the Coil Springs that replaces the air bags in the back prices has dropped big time. Was around $300.00 10 years ago, now $80.00. Plus it only calls for .60 of a hour to install the pair! Car was still sitting level so I had sometime before I had to spend the $140.00 to get them installed, well so I thought. Got to Bobs shop and the cars butt was sitting on the real axle . There was no air left in the rear air bags! Now I am not bad at Bob, he did not break the air ride! But sure was not what I was hoping for! Seems part of the self Diagnostics is the car opens the air valves, so there goes the air! Bob went home sick from the heat and I cannot blame him! Part that really sucks is my wife has friends coming from Indy this weekend and she has to have her car! I really don't understand why, her A/C uses the old style Freon and the A/C is very weak at the best. Which ever of her friends ride in the back is going to be hating life! Guess I will have to get into the savings to get it fixed. But that is why it there I guess and not a New Grill. Ulrich Front Boy either is sick or Petra has him my the sack and won't even let him on the computer! Personally while I try to keep my wife happy, she will never run my life! Well see you all later, trying to get one of the last BBQ's out of the grill. Ken

My right shoulder is killing me, may just have to see the dr about it. I spend half my "down time' lying on the couch on that side, some time at might on that side, and of course "mouse shoulder" can happen on here.
Dunno, but the usual aspirin dose { 2- 325mg} that helps it isn't working anymore.
I've had a long day, I htink time for nap..oops MOH is now home, guess not!
Afternoon all. Work tonight, well at least it is inside compared to being in the 90 degrees. Not much else going on here. Been working on a roster for my railroads. I am figuring about 6-8 wheelings, and three Austinville locos. I;ve also been planning about 8 different train symbols, sinceI cannot build the railroad yet.

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
MisterBeasleyI miss Ulrich. He was a happier man here when he had a layout to work on.

Good morning. It's 77° with 96% humidity. The high will be 92°, cloudy with a small chance of rain.Morning: Afternoon: with Nothing planned for today other than cleaning one of the //e's Lobo drives. That'll take less than five minutes. Other than that I'll probably watch some movies and maybe work on another loco.
Yeah, me too. Gonna be a hot one, the first of the season. Fortunately, I've got hockey tonight so I get to enjoy a couple of hours of winter.
I started the Great Pearl Drops Experiment on my Athearn Baldwin Switcher last night. It's a growler, so I'm going to use this abrasive tooth polish on the gears. (How abrasive? Not sure, but I ordered the stuff from Amazon and it was shipped from England. Maybe not made in the US anymore?) The first step is to remove the trucks and clean the gear train thoroughly. That job is half done.
I miss Ulrich. He was a happier man here when he had a layout to work on.

cudaken Today? Thumbs Down Got a deal where I went 25% off tag for around a $1,000.00. Boy Did I Get A Load Of Poop over it! He said "You Sales People Are Alwise Stabbing Me In The Back !" He all so said I was trying to play him? I just don't get it, plus he has away of making a person feel like a total Dunce
Good evening. Not a whole lot happened today. As said earlier I had a disk drive cable come apart. It was easily repaired. Being reluctant to depend on the crimp connector to hold together by friction (it apparently hadn't before) I super-glued it together. It shouldn't fall apart now.I took another look at the DVD backup I made of the SD cards yesterday. Just as I suspected. The entries had been saved as shortcuts. Not what I wanted. I deleted all that, set up new folders then dragged and dropped all the information I needed to their respective folders. Now it's all saved as files as I'd intended, not shortcuts. I had enough space left so I dragged over the directory with all my Car Talk podcasts. That took up a little over four gigs of space. No, I don't have an iPod. The podcasts play just as well on my PC's Mediaplayer.Nothing much else other than watching a couple of movies. At the moment I'm watching called 'Knight and Day'. A woman unwittingly becomes ensnared in a deadly global adventure when she becomes the reluctant partner of a fugitive spy. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan but it's been pretty good so far.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Evening Folks
Flo, do you sale by the case? I will take one!
Work Front Boy I am starting to hate it when I work St Charles! Our St Charles store used to be a Ice Scaking Rink / Roller Skating Rink. Problem is they only installed A/C in the roller rink, with the other half having a ice rink there was no need for A/C! There is now! It was only around 89 today, but it was every bit of that in the store!
Besides the heat, Paul was a total Caboose today! Guess I should getting use to that by now! When I started he told me no lower than 20% off the tag prices. OK, got that! Few months later he said "Onces you get a feel for the discounts I will approve you don't have to call every time!" OK, I understand that has well. I had a few deals aprroved on bedroom sets for 25% and 30% off. So I stopped calling every time and was never called on the carpet so that must be OK!

Havent been in for a bit now. I may be starting a new job soon so am excited about that. Not much else going on here though, I picked up a couple channel lock pliers today so Im happy with a new tool. Bought a set of wrenches last week too ( Snap on ), I wasnt out on the bike at all last week as it was raining and cool in the morning. We are back into the heat so might rtry to get out in the morning, I hope to anyways.
We got a big rain storm here. Looking out the door I can barely see the neighbors trailer and it's only forty some feet away. The nurse showed up at 1:10. She did a good job of replacing the wound vac dressing. I almost didn't make it there as the van wouldn't start. Ended up taking the cables loose from the positive clamp and cleaning all that up then put it back together. After that it started fine. This morning I was working on a disk drive. This required that the ribbon cable be disconnected from it. I pulled on the crimp connector on the end of the cable and it came apart with the end result of the plug and cable parting company. I crimped them back together and reattached it to the drive and tested it. It worked, so I carefully detached it from the drive and super glued the connector and cable together like they should have been originally.
Afternoon Folks!
Chloe, just a refill for my decaf right at the moment...
Had an early lunch today with an old high School friend of mine who is the treasurer of a Boy Scout Troop over the other side of the Council I am in. His son (an Eagle Scout) is the Advancement Chair for the troop so it was the three of us meeting. We put together plans for the troop to do the Railroading Merit Badge next Fall. They will most likely camp over at the Museum where we can complete everything in a day.
It is a hot, muggy day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 81°F with a high in the mid 80's and some thunderboomers hanging around for the afternoon. So far the sun has been out every now and again, but that will soon turn to dark clouds...
I have to get the car set up to carry my small sound system over to use at the church's Strawberry Festival on Wednesday. Tomorrow I am atteneding an operating session in Rochester. One of my members is just getting started in operations, so it should be a fun day as there will be a mix of well seasoned experts and those of us who have done operations but still have a lot to learn. If I ever get caught up with the gardening around here I will get back to w*rk on my layout so I too can start doing operating sessions.
I need to go get some actual stuff done.... later!
Afternoon all, A pepperoni roll for lunch would be great.
Didn't do too much today, started with a train symbol list for my future layout, started listing out potential industries, and decided on locomotive rosters. I am thinking about designing it so 4-6 people can comfortably run it (Two coal trains, a Steam excursion train,a local, an Austinville and Dynamite city train or two, and a possible through coke train), and one person to dispatch. I also programmed the locomotive for the chip today, and it runs like a beauty-I had it going a scale 5mph steady.
Good morning. It's 80° with 81% humidity. The high will be 92° with some clouds and a small chance of rain. with Just waiting on the Home Health nurse to call. I have no plans today so I'll probably just be watching some movies and taking it easy.
