Update:I think the interview went over really well. She has a couple more interviews today, and will call back with her decision in the next few days. Let's hope it works out.

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe I'll have a short stack of blueberry pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup and a couple sausage liks this morning to go along with with the Seneca Lake Dark Roast coffee, please.
Currently 43°F outside with a high later on in the mid 50's. Cloudy out there at the moment and showers should be common this afternoon. Then tonight it will turn to rain, about a half inch worth.... "Oh Joy"! More water to fill my basement......
Jimmy glad the interview went well. Hope you get the job!
I expect to get a lot of details done for the scene on the layout today. I am pulling out all the stumps and replacing them with ones that look right, then will be painting some old wagon wheels, and finding this and that to have sitting around the building. Need to make a pile of coal for outside one of the small doors. I remember my Fathers Cousin Don who owned a huge farm machinery dealership way back when used to have a pile of coal next to every door in the shop where there was a pot bellied stove for heat, so I will add that to the shop as a likely thing. Will need to use some silflor to cover the small gaps between the rise in the base on 4 sides and the walls of the shop. Again that would be protoypical as the grass right next to the building would not get cut by the old lawn mowers and I doubt Mr. Fisher would havew worried about it. The last detail will be a few people sitting at and around the picnic table and a couple cars and maybe a horse and buggy at the shop.
Later!

Well
I went all the way to the pulmonologist and we cancelled the appt. anyway. Why? there is a snag in my new insurance coverage and I would have incurred a $80 bill for the appt. Not good. It was a general follow-up anyway.
I don't know which is worse? The potholes or the washboard they leave behind trying to patch them {now that they think the can weatherwise.} It will be a mess araound that hospital whne they try to repave.
There is weather moving our way and my back pain is telling me all about it.
Thank you, SOMEBODY! I have a sore throat now... MOH has a full blown cold for 1 week and a half.
I ma still planning on talking to Jeffrey Wednesday or thursday for those who want to send along well wishes.
Well, I thin I go lie down.

Galaxy, please give my best wishes to everyone you talk to! But, particularly to those who are recovering from something.
And, my condolences about your highways. Ours up here in New England are a mess this year, with all the freeze-thaw cycles and bitter cold. On the way home from skiing yesterday I had to dodge a few serious wheel-eaters in Maine. On the way to work this morning, I saw a "Grooved Pavement Ahead" sign, a prelude to repaving. Of course, the section of road that is about to make my life miserable is in very good shape and does not need to be repaved.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Extra strong coffee in a SOGGY & SOUTHERN mug, please.
***Eric, sounds like we're in the same boat with all the rain/mud issues and starting a garden. Have had up to 5" here overnight through today. What a mess. Mother Nature has had serious bladder issues this year.
Off to do farm chores. Have a good day y'all.
Cheers! Rob
Hey Rob, I think that's the storm system that's coming my way. At least it's not snow!
Eric
Hello everybody
Oz Jim .... Great to see you! ... Keep on posting here.
Ulrich .... Did you read my last message under the title of "testing"? ... I brought up another topic. ... I bet you are a very good translator. I hope the pay is good.
Galaxy ... I may be calling Jeffry myself too, but don't let that stop you. I am very glad you are looking out for Runniong Bear.
Our trip to the Model Train store yesterday was a good one. We went to Chuck's Depot in Marion IL which is over 100 miles north of here. Chuck has a giant sized layout in his basement with a very large amount of locomotives and cars .His store has a huge inventory. We each bought miscellaneous items we needed for current projects.
Happy Model Railroading!

Evenin' folks!
Yaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnn.... Ahhh, Janie, can I get a refil for my decaf? Thank You Ma'am!
I have been just wiped out today. No energy at all. Guess the last few days have caught up to me..... It has been raining most of the day here in the Finger Lakes. Cold and rainy. Current temperasture is 41°F, actually warmer than it was a couple hours ago. We have gotten half an ionch of rain so far today and should get another quarter inch tonight. I have started the siphon down cellar 3 times today. I'm sure it will be wet down there by the time I get down cellar tomorrow....
Got new stumps planted replcing the ones that just didn't turn out right. These look a lot better I think. Also added more bushes and silflor in several places. Started making junk for around the building, put a family sitting at and around the picnic table as well. Hope to be about done with the scene by tomorrow evening. We shall see.
Just about time I turned in for the night. See you all in the morning!
Good Morning!
another gray and dull day. There is quite a storm heading towards us today, so it is better to stay put.
Heartland Division CB&QUlrich .... Did you read my last message under the title of "testing"? ... I brought up another topic. ... I bet you are a very good translator. I hope the pay is good.
Garry - I sent you a PM with some suggestions. Translating does not earn good money these days. It would be difficult to make a living on it. You can get "simple" translations as low as $ 18 per A4 page. Difficult translations may fetch up to $35 per page, but require a lot more time. If I calculate my hourly rate on the translation I did - well, I don´t want to know. But as I do have the time, I don´t really mind the enourmous amount of hours I put into it. It´s extra money, which we certainly need, not only for my MRRing (that´ll be the least part of what we will spend).
I have to get going, some banking to be done to pay my order of switch stands...

Oh WOW! I hate 24 hour flu bugs. Anyway, now comes the waiting part to see if I got the job or not.
Good Morning All
49F and rainy this morning. Just a quick hello and back to the shop for me Zoe. Did get to spend some time last night cleaning and starting to finalize where the turntable and oundhouse are going to sit but I might move it all away from the yard to make more room for the passenger cars I want to have.
Jimmy - hope you have a speedy recovery. Most of the people around here have been ill for a lot longer than 24hrs.
Our thoughts and prayers for Johnboy, Jeffery, Flip and the rest of you ailing and recovering.
Missed Oz Jims' visit yesterdy. Good to see him back and I wonder is he still working for the express company at the airport?
Ulrich - not good to work through lunch and not take breaks. We wouldn't want to see you back in horse pittal again. Gotta run. Cheers, J.R.
Me again!
I think Jimmy must have put the bug he caught into an envelope and mailed it to me. My sinuses are blocked, my throat is sore, my eyes are watery and my head is aching. I am just glad I finished that translation, I could not do it the way I feel now.
Did my bank run this morning to pay the bill for the switch stands. On the way back, I stopped at our home improvement center to grab 4 heavy duty supports - another 50 bucks off the budget, which is pretty much depleted right now. That translation money ill come in handy for more needed supplies.
CU later!
Sir Madog Me again! I think Jimmy must have put the bug he caught into an envelope and mailed it to me. My sinuses are blocked, my throat is sore, my eyes are watery and my head is aching. I am just glad I finished that translation, I could not do it the way I feel now.
You forgot "achy bones and body"! That is about how I have felt the last 2 days. MOH has had it for a week, now my turn.
We made it all hte way through this past winter without a single sniffle or cough, now spring is here and can't quite tell the emerging allergies from the colds we suffer!
DUnno,
I have a back up of laundry to do and some piled up dishes to do, and a few errands to run, so I will be busy, achy body and bones or not.
Before putting it curbside, MOH wnated to chek the dehumidifier that was "broken" and "quit working". It worked as soon as plugged in! Now to see if it draws water out of the air..the humidistat says about 72% so it SHOULD draw water out, but wasnt' doing THAT last time it quit either.
Dunno,
I have a cupbord to clear out maybe throw out some stuff befer the garbage truck comes. best get at it it isn't getting done this way!
later!
galaxyYou forgot "achy bones and body"!
Thanks for reminding me!
Yup, I came through this "winter" without any cold or flu, but now I´ve got it. It is always a bad sign for me, when Petra´s food does not taste good...
Sir Madog: My sinuses are blocked, my throat is sore, my eyes are watery and my head is aching.

If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're built upside down. I think there's a bit in CV 29 to fix that.
The stuff falling from the sky right now is wet, not white. In preparation for this momentous event, I hauled out a ladder and cleaned the gutters over my garage. A huge lump of leaves, pine needles and glop always accumulates a the top of the downspout over the winter. The entire gutter fills up and overflows, completely defeating its purpose.
I ordered Game of Thrones, the third season, from Amazon last night. We don't watch a lot of TV, but that one's got us hooked. It's cheaper to buy the DVDs than to pay for HBO on cable. We just have to be patient, and, of course, we're always way behind the curve on knowing what happens.
Jimmy_Braum . . .Anyway, now comes the waiting part to see if I got the job or not.

Did they give you a timeframe for the decision?
Richard
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal with brown sugar and lots of Seneca Lake Blend dark roast coffee please. Oh put it in my FGLK Mug this morning. Thanks!
Dark, damp, and gloomy here in the Finger Lakes today...Currently at the high for the day, 50°F with a 17mph breeze out of the WSW. Been watching the robins and the starlings having breakfast in the flowering quince tree. A week ago it was completely loaded with berries from last year. They are slowly being devoured by hungry birds of many kinds.
Will spend most of today doing MR stuff. Hopefully photos will be forthcoming....
I see several of our patrons are suffering from Spring colds. Hope you all get to feeling better quickly. I feel a lot more rested this morning than I did yesterday. I need to start my walking around the neighborhood one of these days (if the weather would ever co-operate). I have been way to sedentary this Winter and need to get back into shape.... or at least a better shape!
Catch you all later!
There were a few more interviews they had to go through, and then the hiring person would call back for the results.
Been a little busy around here the past couple of days, but lots of fun too. Naturally we spent some time railfanning on Saturday & Sunday. Saturday we were at our usual spot for Norfolk Southern & caught 6 trains in 2 hours. On Sunday morning, we went over to catch CSX on Pittsburgh South Side. There we saw 4 trains in about 1½ hours. Then went and got lunch before heading back to our spot for Norfolk Southern. There we got 7 trains in 1½ hours. The scanner got busy at one point between the dispatcher & a couple of trains concerning railfans(?) east of our location. I don't know if it was the same or 2 different situations. At first it was reported that someone was sitting on track 2 (a 3 track line) with a camera. Soon it was reported that police were on & near the tracks hunting someone. During these conversations, a train reported to the dispatcher that he had a heritage unit leading and that they had attracted quite a few photographers along the way. Now that was good news because I wasn't expecting any heritage units. Soon after that, a mixed freight with the Lehigh Valley Heritage unit arrived. I hadn't seen this one before, so it was sort of a bonus. Now besides the activity on the radio about people being on the tracks, some others showed up near us. I couldn't believe these guys. They wanted to stand on the ballast to get their photos. It's not unusual to see speeds of 40/45 mph on trains going east. No wonder train crews & railroads get upset with some people. A little common sense seems to be lacking. I've seen guys get out of their cars with little ones and go right up to the tracks. I don't understand why people think they have to be in someone else's backpocket. When I was on the fire department, many a time people would try to bring their kids right up to the trucks at a working fire, then get upset when chased away. But guess who would have been hiring an attorney within minutes if a hose broke, or some other equipment failure caused an injury or death.
Yesterday was shopping and errands as usual. But we had to do some extra shopping as we are going to a wedding in Charleston, SC this comingh June.So the wife needed some new luggage, as well as a shower & wedding gift. So we got all that done. Shopping for gifts is not my favorite activity, but it's done now.
Very early this morning there was a landside in Pittsburgh over by Station Square. It sounds like a serious one, and has effected Norfolk Southern's main line, the Duquesne Incline, a restaurant at the top of Mt. Washingston, and who knows what else. It's been reported that 1 track of NS is covered in trees, rocks & mud. It's 2 track there, so they might be be too badly jammed up. If both tracks are covered, I would think it would be a problem as that's the line double stacks must use.
Well, time for some lunch, so everybody have a good one...
Tom

by node is tuffed, by throat id door, I hab a cuff, and Iz feel mizerable....I dirt everywhere doo....
That aobut sums up my feelings now.
Again, THANKS to whoever gave this to MOH, and then to me. I'd rather have had it vicariously, thank you!
Ever try to cancel a cancelled order? I ordered something through Amazon, thought I liked it, then decided to order more. Then I wasn't sure whether I liked it or not, so I cancelled the extra. But "Your order has been processed beyond the point where we can cancel it, so here is a FEDEX label for the return at no cost". SO, I decided I did INDEED like the product, so I called to cancel the cancel! Now if that don't beat all. Now watch, i won't get charged on my card, and then have to call and explain they need to charge me! Thats because i issued the cancellation through Amazon, and it is the manufacturer who issued the cancellation cancelled order that I cancelled. It could be a mess.
ah well, hat what happens when your brain is in a fog.
Oh, time to go get teh mail.
later
Dinenr will be {trying it out} cheesy skillet chicken adn broccoli cheezy skillet. One dish wonder.Nto so exciting bUt I am not up to cooking a whole spread.
Hi Guys,
Nice here today, about 9c and will be up around 17c on Thursday. I am so happy to see cold and snow gone ( who knows though it could come back ) There is still some snow in the shady areas but for the most part has melted. I wish I could do some yardwork but the ground is still frozen and what has melted is soft and muddy at the moment. Saw some trains this morning down at the station. Plan on ordering some pizza for dinner.

Ulrich .... I sent a reply PM.
PA Tom .... Interesting the heritage units attract railfans. I would think they would have more common sense than to sit on a track. Some of the nuts spoil things for the rest of us.
Lion .... Still have snow? ... That is a nice setting. You could build a great live steam layout there.
Galaxy ... Sorry you cought a cold. People should stay home if they are sick so they do not infect others.
Happy Model Railroading.
Garry - Your right. You would think adults would have more common sense. I have seen some really dumb actions while we have been railfanning. If you need a close up, they make telephoto lenses. The wife & I have never been hassled while railfanning. In fact, the local police must be use to us now because they always give a little wave when driving past. I just hope those who are irresponsible don't ruin it for us.
Broadway Lion - I haven't seen that flat a horizon since I was in the Mekong Delta of Viet Nam. Great photo.
Mint tea, please.
***MisterBeasley, my brothers are both hooked on that show also. I have not watched a single episode, because I fear I would become hooked on it as well and my To Do List is too large already.
Found out today Little Red (McCormick tractor) needs a $2,000 part. OUCH! It is not that old and has few hours, but of course is past the warranty period. Thinking of selling it before something else goes wrong with it.
Healing thoughts to those in need.
Galaxy - did you get that cold at the doctor's office, by any chance? I came home with a really bad one once, and all I did was go have some blood taken for a routine physical. I really try to avoid those places unless I've got a really good reason to go.
We still have just a few piles of snow where the plows have built mountains. Other than that, the ground is clear.
MR B. I already had it when I stopped by the Drs. office the other day for a script. I got it from MOH, I am sure. BUT that has happened to me before! I go for another reason and catch cold in the Drs office. I never could be a DR. as my immune system is not strong and I'd be constantly sick! We tend to infect each other nad get it back form the other again and again. I siad "No kissing, please' and we can each keep our own germs and we will get over it faster.Otherwise one of starts to get over it when the other starts it and passes it back and forth for 8 weeks instead of being over it in 2 each.
MOH went to bed at 6:00 I laid down too, but couldn't sleep so I got up again. I have a med that has the side effect of impending sleep to take at bedtime. Like Poppies, {"Poppies...Poppies will put them to sleep"..wizard of Oz} I will be asleep quickly then!
Well got most of the laundry done and half the dishes, so they are still behind for tomorrow. Have zero energy.
Dinner tasted like cardboard, tasteless like normal with a cold, and didn't excite me.
Rest will be nice sleep even better.
The "old new dehumidifier" was to go out to the curb {if they would have taken it}. BUT MOH decided to check it to see if it still worked as the power strip we had it plugged into had a circuit breaker. YEP! It worked and drew an 1" of water in 2 hours! The strip is also cracked apparently been stepped on by one of us on the floor. SO now we have two dehumidifiers, which we may actually need one for front and one for back of the trailer. Then there is the OLD OLD dehumifier I keep forgetting to take to my fathers to see if he can fix it. He is good at "tinkering" on such things. There is a dial type "therostat" on it off at one end, cycling on and off in between, and "all on" at the other end of the dial. I THINK the dial is bad. I could be wrong I've been wrong before and will be wrong again. Maybe it can finally get rid of the "musty smell" in here.
Gloom and doom on the financial front emails according to "experts' we will all lose our money! of well, I haven't any much to lose! No flame war here please. just sayin'
I will call Jeffrey on Thursday to see how he is doing. Hope all will find him healing well!
Janie, I could sure use a hot cup of decaf right now.
I am soon to bring in some firewood and light the wood stove. Not really cold in here, but damp... The high was 52°F at 9AM this mornihng and the temp has been slowely falling all day. I got the siphon going down cellar amid quite a bit of water running accross the floor to a drain in the new train room. About 6 hours later I went down to do a bit more work on the scene and the water was coming in even worse than this morning, so I started the siphon back up. I will restart it again before I go to bed tonight.
Galaxy, you were wrong??? Personally, I have never been wrong! I thought I was wrong once a long time ago, but it turns out I was mistaken....
OK folks. Lets play, "What's Wrong with this Photo"! I am getting close to calling the area done and am now starting to seriously photograph the project and give a critical eye to making the "Perfect" photo for something. Lets see what you can find in this one. I can see at least 4 things that still need to be done or changed in this photo:
Galaxy ... I sent you a PM.
Ray ... The scene looks fantastic as it is. Question, is the rock in your area pure white?
I called Jeffrey Running Bear. He's doing very well. He is walking with a cane and lifting weights. While walking, he passes the nurse station to talk with them. His wound is improving, but it is very slow. We talked a lot about trains and computers. He is thankful to those who have sent cards to him.
Galaxy says he will be calling soon, and you should contact Galaxy if you want to relay messages to Jeff.
Happy Model Railroading
