Hey there everyone.
Back at PCT today. Shouldn't be that bad of a week as far as length goes. Also have Labor day off, so I also have an extra day to do some work.
This past Saturday, I was up at Johnson City at a antique store. It has a display of old Lionel items that are mainly from the postwar era, and picked up a 6465 tank car. Cleaned it up with some WD-40, and it started to look a lot better than it was when I got it.

Got some serious arm exercise today. Went to a barbeque next door at my nieces place. The roughest part was negotiating the steps between her place and my fathers place. I managed it. Those steps are much lower than the steps up to my trailer. No way am I ready for those yet! I'd rather climb El Capitan. Again! It was good to get out even though it was just over to the west side of the house. As for my upcoming doc appointment in Oakdale (Tuesday), my father is gonna see if he can get somebody to take his shift at work that day so he can take me there and back. He isn't happy with Community Transport. It's slow and the wait times for a van to show up can be two hours or more. Add to that I'm still having a hard time getting around. Hopefully I'll be getting the stitches and staples out this time. That's all for today. See y'all tomorrow.

A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link:
Meaning:
The proverb has a literal meaning, although the 'weakest link' referred to is figurative and usually applies to a person or technical feature rather than the link of an actual chain
Known Origin:
It is clearly a literal fact that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The conversion of that notion into a figurative phrase was established in the language by the 18th century. Thomas Reid's Essays on the Intellectual Powers of Man, 1786, included this line:
"In every chain of reasoning, the evidence of the last conclusion can be no greater than that of the weakest link of the chain, whatever may be the strength of the rest."
Good morning. It's 73° with 100% humidity. The high will be 92° but will feel like 99°. with a Still feeling the muscle aches from yesterdays little jaunt next door for the barbeque. Today I'll be taking it easy as usual. Other than that no plans. We'll just see what comes up.
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and fried chicken, coleslaw and biscuits please, thanks.
Sunny, with a high near 91.
Welp, got the shed doors re-done. Still have to put the outside latch on but supper time came and it was HOT out there so I just stopped. I’d been movin slow all day, well, slower than normal, Walk slow and drink plenty of water, so it took most the day to do and when she called for supper, I just stopped. Went back out after and picked up the tools. All that’s left is to pick up the scrap and of course the latch. I can do that today. ……Or in five years.
Othern’at, bookwo*k for the Church and to wash my truck is about the only thing I have scheduled for today so…..either start on the garage, or the trainroo….nope. Gotta paint the outside trim on the house and the shed door. Also need to put a gutter on the front of the shed. (Another 10 year old get around to) Doesn’t look like that is too much of an issue right now or in the near future though. Oh and gotta really knock back the Rose of Sharon. I’ll get there.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Good MorningYet another sunny and humid day here...85 feeling like 100 here...oh...and we do have a chance of those ol' t'underin'boomers as well....As well, SWMBO has given me a new list of things to do, see, buy...so....off I be doing this...maybe later on I might get a chance to get into the train room...
Howdy .....
Arrived home from Alabama last night. My Mom in Alabama is now officially 94 years old, and we had a good birthday celebration for here.
Looks like I missed a birthday here. Oz Jim, Late Happy Birthday!
Ulrich Glad you had time to stop in. I know the kind of politicians you are talking about. I'd like to speak my mind, but I'll just tell people to contact me if they are interested in my thoughts about those kinds of politicians.
Ken .... Glad you stopped in. Stop in for Diner coffee when you can.
Jim CG .... Glad you were here. You've been busy.
JohnBoy .... Thanks for commenting about my travels. It was a good trip.
Jeff ..... We'll always caring about you. Did you say an appointment was postponed?
Canadian Dennis .... I can understand why you like Canada. If you don't like your PM, we have a president we can trade you! If you turn me down, I'll make a similar offer to Ulrich.
Todd ..... Your priorities are backwards. First work on your layout. Then you can do home projects afterwards.
Saturday I visited a LHS south of Birmingham, AL. Remarkably, he had some Atlas track available. He said he stocked up as soon as he heard there could be a problem with availability. I bought some of the Atlas track I need for my layout expansion.
Happy Model Railroading!

Good morning! We are stil having pleasant, fall-like weather here in New England. It's a bit cloudy today, but it's Monday, so who cares. The weekend was just perfect.
My wife is planning to come home in 3 weeks. She hoped to have her parents settled in some sort of assisted-living facility, and she thought she had buy-in from her Dad at least, but that's all gone now. They think they can get by with just having a part-time caregiver. At this point, neither of them can get up and down the stairs, they are on the second floor and there's no elevator. So, they're completely dependent. I'm afraid they are not going to accept their situation until one of them takes another turn for the worse.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Morning All,
Currently it is 59 with an expected high of 88 with still smokey skies. Nice breeze in the evening, but too smokey to open the windows, so I have to run the AC.
Left eye seems to be doing very well and I sure do notice an improvement.
Any w**k on models or the layout will have to wait until I get the right eye done and it heals, so I know what strength reading glasses I need.
Todd - Thanks for the run down on what you thought of Scheels. Scheels is a family and employee owned company, so as an owner I was curious.
Back to w**k today for me.
Prayers to all in need.

Morning guys,
Was over at the train station this morning to see if any freight's might come through, got there and one came about 5 minutes later, stayed there for another half and hour to see if anything else might arrive but nothing. It's warm and muggy out today so have the A/C on.
Might work on the layout later this afternoon as there calling for some thunderstorms no warnings yet but that might change as the afternoon rolls on.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Organic Pumpkin Seed Flax Granola with fresh blueberries on top and a pot of Marrakesh Express Dark Roast coffee this morning...
I didn't even stir this morning until 9:45AM. I'm supposed to give Blackie his medicine at 9:30, so I got right up and got his pill pockets ready. Then i couldn't find the little bugger. He was hiding under the bed to be safe from the Thunderboomers that had passed over (and woke me up) and wouldn't come put. I finally got down on the floor and reached my hand with the pill pockets over to where he was. After a bit of coaxing he did eat his "treats".
Cool and damp here in the Finger Lakes this morning. Currently 70°F with a high this afternoon of 78° with liquid sunshine all around. Inside it is cool but sticky with the humidity being high.
Happy birthday to Garry's Mom!
I will busy myself cleaning up and putting away stuff around here today. I also will download all the photos from my cameras from the reunion activities. May even do a bit of model w*rk as well.
Later!

Morning gang!
Had to take SWMBO to work this morning, then get home and wait for the insurance adjuster (sometime today) to look at the car. Did stop for a little railfanning though,
No, they are not my Midland Units! Thats the real thing!! They had about 25 cement loads to take to the CSX interchange . Later they will bring a whole string of empties back.
Also stopped at the local privately owned garden center to get a "mole guillotine", both the "big box "places in town carry them (Lowes & HD) BUT they are order only. Shelves are full of have a heart traps. I really don't want to be the one that has to explain that moles live underground, and have a heart traps don't work when they are full of dirt! So far, repellants and poison has not works, and my patience it at its end! I'm starting to feel like this guy! Mwuhahahahahaa!
Catch y'all later!
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go!.....................
EDIT 3:30 pm, still no call from an adjuster called the home office, "Oh, they won't be calling til tomorrow" is what I got. Guess who is going back to his old Ins. Co. after this blows over. 30 years in the car biz, NEVER had to wait this long. Incident happened Friday, now no adjuster til Tuesday??? For those of you who are playing the home game, SWMBO hit a pothole Friday, broke a spring, ruined a tire, blah blah blah!
Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.
Nice pics of both real and model trains being posted.
Discovered a neat museum in a nearby town. Here is a pic of the almost toyish looking little loco beside the parking lot.
Here is a link to the rest of the pics I took and info about it: http://s1200.photobucket.com/user/Robert_Cederstrand/library/OutsideMuseumCartersvilleGA?sort=6&page=1
Cheers! Rob
Ray - Glad to see you up and about. Thought you might have plumb tuckered yourself out at the reunion. I don't have a doubt in te world that you had a really great time. I wonder if you noticed the same thing I did at my 50th reunion, and that is how some changed over the years so much that I didn't know them, but others, not much at all. In my case, the guys hadn't changed, but the girls, wow, what a difference. Hope you enjoy your 75th as much.
Went railfanning on Saturday again. I think we might be going on Saturdays from now on as it seems to be a little busier than the same time frame on Sundays. Nothing really special was seen, except for a string of all empty gondolas. It was just something I've never seen before.
Sunday we spent the afternoon and evening, including a delicious dinner, with my nephew and his family. It's always a good time with kids. It is disturbing at how fast they are growing up though. The other nephews oldest daughter became a teenager recently. Now how is that possible? It seems like we went down to North Carolina for the baby's Christening just a couple of years ago.
Today was grocery shopping and errands, so we just got home about 45 minutes ago. Got one load of wash started, then kind of ran out of steam, so not much more is planned for this afternoon. It's in the high 80's, so I'm not interested in any outdoor chores.
KBKCHOOCH - Really like the paint scheme on those Maryland Midland units.
Everybody have a good one...

Good afternoon.
Karl .... Nice looking train.
Rob .... I like the critter loco.
Here's what I see in town. That's all the railfanning, I can do unless I drive 40 or more miles.
Of course, I can watch barge traffic from the house. These two barge tows are passing each other in opposite directions. Galaxy and Ray .... Thanks for acknowledging my mother's b'day! Happy Model Railroading.

***Garry, did you weather than full scale locomotive or is that all natural? That's a heck of a nice view. If I lived there, I would be flying float planes off that water, that is the RC model variety. Include me in on wishing your mother a Happy Birthday, as well.
Debating if I am up to anymore outside work today. Kind of feeling beat up now. Have pushed it and made some good progress again the past few days out on the ol' farm.
Evening guys
Well I'm steamed right now. I get off work and head straight for the tax collector's office/mansion (is an office, but is furnished really fancy) to renew my registration and my driver's license. Turns out they only do licenses before 3:30pm. So I just went and decided to get my registration out of the way. Last year registration was $38. this year it's $58.... I asked how much the license renewal would be, and it's another $58 bucks. So there goes ALL the money from selling that GP7. And I still have yet to have time to get my new tires mounted, and my water pump pulley is now cracked... I'm going with a set of steel pulleys instead of the aluminum ones this time.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Packermy water pump pulley is now cracked... I'm going with a set of steel pulleys instead of the aluminum ones this time.
jeffrey-wimberlyWise choice! I used steel pulleys on my 94 Century. They outlasted the car. It was sixteen years old when I sold it for scrap. The pulleys had been on it for ten of those years.
I still have some of the stock steel pulleys on it, and got rid of all the plastic ones. Car is going on 20 years with over 234K miles (odometer was stuck at 212K when I bought it a few years ago); and it can still outrun newer cars...
But now I kinda feel like a dolt. I measured the underdrive water pump pulley I have, and the steel stock pulley from my brother's Cobra. Same size (like half a millimeter), and I had one of those. I looked through the garage for it, but it looks like I chucked it a while ago (at my dad's direction).... However I may give it a shot at getting my aluminum one welded, until either a water pump pulley from a 1994-1995 mustang Cobra shows up, or I can afford a new one.
Nothing exciting to report tonight. Just another day. Tomorrow my father and I will be going to see my doc in Oakdale and hopefully I'll be getting these stitches and staples removed from what remains of the lower half of my right leg. That's all for tonight. See y'all tomorrow.

Charlie Brown's. Think people here will like it since it not only has postwar items, but also several HO items and one or two N scale items.
Been a typical day at college today. Not much to talk about. Been making appointments with instructors for later dates. Other than that, not much.
Evenin' folks!
Janie just a cup of decaf please.
Didn't do a whole lot today... Still in veg out mode I guess. I did get a bunch of things put away and start to sort and clean out several piles of accumulated papers. Just some odds and ends. Brought in some produce from the garden and drove over to the stand right around the corner and got myself a couple ears of fresh picked genetically modified sweet corn for supper. (I figure it is all genetically modified these days... Probably what is making my blood sugar a bit high at the moment.)
Tomorrow I need to get some laundry done ans head out to Canandaigua for a Troop/Pack committee meeting. They will meet at an ice cream place and have the meeting. This is the handicapped unit(s) I work with.
See you all tomorrow!

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING!!!

The end is near, the end is near!

Could make "copy" from any old thing.
But the copy he wrote

Was so good, he is now in Sing Sing!
A Palindromic poem {letter by letter palindromic- letters are same forwards and backwards!}:
Ida by the Window by Howard Bergerson:
Ma, I so resign.
It's all a poet air.
Ben is, I see, so Greek.
In sly dissent I wore no gay ruff.
O see by a brae his nag roll or yaw?
Awol laws (as are every god's) are a dire rod.
"Aye, fade with gin--O,
too wispily,
Sordid rosy lips I wooe.
(Tonight I wed a fey adorer, Ida.)
Eras do gyre--
veer as a swallow away.
Roll, organs I hear!
Bay, bees of fury ago!
Nero, witness idyls Nike ergo sees!
Is inebriate Opal lasting?
Is Eros?
I am!"
{never said a palindromic poem would make sense!?}
Did you all know that we, as a society, amongst our young people, are losing 'Chirography'? - The art of handwriting
When reading myh missives, how many of you claim 'Floccinaucinihilipilification'?? - To establish or state that something has no value
I know, some of you thing this is all 'Hogo' {stinky}
I personally NEVER Floccinaucinihilipilificate!!
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!
Good morning. It's 72° with 100% humidity. The high will be 92° and will feel like 103°.Nothing much happening today except a trip to Oakdale to see about getting these stitches and staples removed. Other than that I have no other plans.
