The limerick is good but the rest has become long and is quite a bit of a read, especially for someone with dyslexia. Sorry but that's the way it is.

The limerick is good but the rest has become long and is quite a bit of a read, especially for someone with dyslexia. Sorry but that's the way it is.

Just think aobut getting it all typed in trying for zero errors with dyslexia problems!!!

Perhaps I will see about keeping them shorter now. I am sure others fear it is too long to read all of it, unless the titled prhase interests them.

I am trying to get away to other 'fun things' besides just regurgitationg facts aobut a phrase.

I've got some limericks htat may be  tongue twisters coming up I think for the next few days.Some i find, others I make up {badly,perhaps}

Laundry again today. then it will be done for a few days. Must get cat to stay off the bed so i can do the bed clothes! A few dishes and then done for the day i guess.

Dinner will be boneless pork dredged in egg and seasoned flour mixtures, then baked to perfection to seal in the juices, sides will be determiend, though sure to include tom-bas-mozz salald {tomato, basil, mozzarella salad, seasoned with EVOO {Extra Virgin Olive Oil} and slat/pepper.  A splash of balsamic vinegar adn all set}.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and the Brakeman’s special please. Over easy and whole wheat thank you.

Sunny, with a high near 87.

Johnboy- Thoughts and prayers on the neck results.

Hey Ken! Runner sounds good!

Galaxy- Yep I read the limericks and yep I read the word etymologies. Well most. Some, like todays I figured obvious so I didn’t.  I think you hit the nail on the head when you said “unless the title phrase interests them”, cause most times I do just skim.

Happy birthday late there OZJim!!

Today, I do believe I will get to the shed doors. Brenda has to take Missy to the doggy doctor for her Rabies vaccine and her county registration. Probably will want to check for worms too. Never had them since little puppy and I check, but the meds she’s on require an exam for the guarantee. She mentioned that we are going out to eat Monday because that’s when the big move for “my” buffet happens and I am NOT to go there without her. Nothing to do with the waitresses, she just does not like it if I go to a restaurant that she has not been to without her. She can, but I can’t. Figure THAT one out. Hmm On second thought, don’t bother. It’d be a waste of time and brain powerHuh?.

Best get a move on cause who knows what will be in store for me once Brenda gets back from the vets so I better get started on something or she’ll find something for me.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Afternoon All,

Currently it is 68 with an expected high of 88 under smokey skies. The Yosemite fire, and two others in Ca. are sending lots of smoke our way.

Cardiologist appointment on Wed. went well, as expected. I am still his healthiest patient. Cataract surgery on Thursday went well also. The follow up yesterday showed that my left eye is now 20/15 Can't wait to get the right one done in two weeks. Have to put drops in 4 times a day, and wear a plastic eye shield at night for a week. The shield is so I do not rub my eye while sleeping. Have to take things easy for a few weeks, no heavy lifting, or straining, and wear real dark glasses when outside.

   Happy B-Day Jim.

   Prayers to all in need.

Afternoon guys

Well that I sold that Southern GP7. I wanted 50 with a DH123 installed, but the guy was adamant about sound. So I plopped the QSI sound/dcc chassis I had under it and sold it that way for $110. I made some money, as I got the GP7 with a Tsunami for 60, and the QSI-equipped GP9 for 99. So I just swapped the shells and, I get to keep the Tsunami equipped chassis.

For the most part I fixed my BLI C30-7 that stalled. I just bent the pick-up tabs so it picks up power better.

At the club I wound up doing some work, removing a window A/C unit and the "box" for it. I wound up using my tire iron to force the box out.

Ken, Roadrunner sounds pretty good. Old Mopars seem to be far and few between here (but older Camaros are like roaches, all over the place).

Paul, good luck with the appointment

James, Happy Birthday

Afternoon folks!

Chloe, a glass of lemonade if you please...

Just catching up on the place while waiting for my "employee" to arrive so we can go set up for tonight's bash!  Last night was great fun! Close to a hundred people total which should be same for tonight.  It was great to see old friends again.  And I do mean old!  Classmates walking with canes, others wobbly on their feet.  Seems like yesterday we graduated from high school!  Time has gone fast.

See you all tomorrow, "God willing and the creek don't rise..."!

Evenin', Flo - I'll have a hot fudge sundae with a Santa Fe mug of coffee, please. Thank you!

Jeff, it sounds like you're managing better than they likely thought you would! Thumbs Up  You and your father keep at them until they get a w**kable appointment schedule set up for you (which I'm sure is something within your collective power...). Doom II and Wolf3D? Man, there's a blast from the past! Wow (And nice job on the Disk ][ modification - I'd only seen one or two of those ever, though I've heard about them).

And some Happy B-Days to OzJim and (Karl?/Paul?)'s wife. Cake (Sorry - I scanned through a heap of pages of posts...).

Johnboy, if you think the humidity was bad in Springfield, MO, you wouldn't have loved it any better if you were as far south as Jeff and some others live. But I can relate to your liking the lower humidty, all right! Does your son have a job in Montana, or is he going to grad school there? There isn't a whole lot in Montana, I hear... Smile, Wink & Grin

Todd, best wishes on adapting to the new restaurant (once Brenda gets back...)! Dinner Sorry for your loss, though. Oops

And Galaxy and Ray, a political figure showed up in your area and the traffic was messed up, eh? Can hardly imagine that! Whistling

Ulrich, do you get to turn on the siren and flash the lights when you go from one city to the next? Wink Your ride looks sweet! Thumbs Up

Speaking of rides, it's good to see you back in the Diner, Ken. YeahBow

Chris, hope things for you with Sliced Bread are going well. Layout looks good (especially like the new elevator complex!). Bow

And CB&Q Garry - happy fifth (plus...) anniversary of your chopper ride, and may you not have another one in your future!

Welcome to the Diner, Liba! I see Galaxy went over the major rules for you. As he said, the chef can pretty much fix whatever you have a hankerin' to eat. Dinner

And a big thanks to whichever Diner posted the 'DownUnder' version of the RDC - looks a bit like a cross between the Budd RDC's and the CB&Q's Zephyr (which is cool)!

Forgot who posted the link about "winning the lottery," but I loved it! (Sent it on to a friend, as well).Laugh

W**k is still... in flux (and we're not talking soldering stuff there...) (Keeping my eyes open...)

About time for me to head out. Will keep those in process of healing, and in need of same, as well as those in need of good night's rest, on the Angel list.

Blessings and prayers,

Good Morning Guys,

it is way to early for a decent man to be up and awake, but i could not find any sleep last night.

Yesterday marks a sad day in recent German political history. Professor Lucke, one of the founding members of our party, was attacked by a group of armed leftist criminals. He escaped the attack unhurt, but more than a dozen bystanders suffered cuts and chemical burns caused by gas attacks. It is a miracle that no one got killed.

I am still in a state of shock. Yesterday´s incident strongly reminds me of the dark time in Germany some 80 years ago, when democracy was buried under the jackboots of Hitler´s storm troops.

We won´t give in! Our rallies and meetings will see a lot of police presence from now on, and we will have professional security personnel protect us party leaders. I am still pondering whether it is worth to put my life at stake. Makes me think I should have left Germany some years ago and moved to Canada! I still have that dream of a log cabin by a lake, a red pick up parked in the driveway.

Not a happy camper today!

Good Evening all!

Nothing for me Flo,,,,I;m stuffed!! Just got back from a run session in York PA. Awesome layout that took up several rooms in the basement, plus a room under the garage! Lots of trains that ran VERY well.   One thing I didn't expect....its all brass track! No hesitation or dirty spots, without seeing it, I wouldn't
have believed it!
Stopped at a diner on the way up for lunch,,,had to have the pork schnitzel. OMG it was gooooood!! Afterward we stopped at another diner for dinner....1/3 lb sirloin burger w fries...I'm still stuffed, hours later!

OzJim Happy B-Day sorry about the timing!

Ulrich WOW!Surprise What is the world coming too? Surprise Thank goodness no one was hurt!

Cya all tomorrow!! Gotta get some sleep!

Mornin'.......

What am I doing in here at this time of day?  Just got home from the reunion!  I can hardly move!  They made me get up and do the "Twist"!  All these old people in my class danced for 4 and a half hours!  We had a great time, and I was amazed at how long most of the attendees hung around.

Ulrich, I am shocked to hear people over there acting that way....  Hope all the bystanders are OK!  The only "good" thing as that kind of behavior will make your party look more attractive to a lot of people!

See you all sometime tomorrow...  Gotta catch a few hours of sleep and back to Canandaigua for the finale of the weekend!

Later!

Why Canada, my friend? The USA technically allows those with diverse political views a haven. Actually, I sometimes think that leaving the USA for Germany is the appropriate solution. Canada is more to the left than the US, in spite of Harper vs.'Bamma.

I guess the real point is that we are all subject to our environment, and if we don't like it we are obligated to exercise our right to vote the bums out. If we fail, then we must exercise persistence and pat6ience until we vote the bums out.

The fact is that no political movement reflects the complete view of the average citizen, irrespective as to whether they are Republican, Democrat  or other............ This is why, at my advancing age, hold all politicians and political movements with contempt.

Joe,

a quick answer before I am off to another rally, where I have to give a speech.

Canada (the south-eastern part of it) will be close to where my son will eventually be located. He is right now going for his PhD in Computer Engineering science and has already received interesting offers from some universities up there, including MIT in the US.

Compared to Germany, Canada is a far right country. No wonder, we a run by a lady chancellor who learned her trade in Moscow.

No Vinnie - I am stepping off the soap box, I promise to behave...

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING!!!

Today is Sunday, August 25th, 2013!!!

MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!!!

Today's fun limerick:

There once was  a dog named Snerd,

Who nary uttered a word

while out on a lark,

he would "arf" and bark

Whenever he saw a bird.

Useless old words which may still have uses:

We all may wish we had 'Alexiteric' - Adjective meaning to ward off a contagion or having the properties of an antidote. From a Greek word meaning "protection."

I certainly experience this around my mid section: 'Alogotrophy' - Means excessive nutrition to any one part of the body resulting in deformity. From Greek word meaning "unreasonable nourishment."

I do hope you married guys practice 'Baithe' - To agree or consent When dealing with your OH.

Did you know you had a Oxter ?

Let's see who can guess what and where you keep your OXTER ....{keep it clean} No cheating! Just Guessing! {hint: it makes childhood noises, to children's delight, but you should have more than one of them!}

Make it a great day!!!

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and the Sunday breakfast buffet please. Thanks.

Sunny, with a high near 89.

(phvvvvverp!!) Sorry, just excerising the ol’ oxter!Laugh

Well yesterday started out goodYes. Actually it ended good and everything in between was good too I suppose. But I started out by taking one door off the shed and putting it on the sawhorse. Said to myself “hm, I should have laid it other side up because actually for what I need to do first, it’s upside down.” Then…phone rings. A friend of mine called asking if I could come by and charge his pregnant daughters AC he has the Freon (major point in me saying yes by the way) so she would stop whining about having to drive her car sweating like a pregnant woman.Indifferent Think about it for a bitZip it!..... I said sure… That took almost three hours all said and done and then I get home and…phone rings againSigh. Friend who owns the restaurant. The exhaust fan in the kitchen is stuck on. Run up there and find the pull chain broke. 30 seconds later I’m back out the door and heading back homeCool. Walk back in the door Brenda says “where’r we gonna eat? She dillies around another 30-45 minutes then we are leaving for…who knows where. I think Red Robin (yummmm) Indifferent (looks over shoulder)...Where’d that come from?Huh?   Anyway we got a new one here in the last couple weeks and I never been there so…., I still haven’t because the place was so packed, we went across the road to the Texas Roadhouse and had a mediocre steak and rib combo for me and ribeye for her. Then, we went to Scheels. Again, never been there and I figured we were out and she wanted to go and I may need something from there sometime in the area of reloading 'cause I was told they had that stuff there, and like a restaurant or any other place for that matter,  if she hasn’t been there and I go without herConfused….well that’s not an issue now. But I digress. Got home, sat in my chair started watchin Ziva before heading back out to at least flip the door over, maybe get it apart and fell asleep for almost an hour and woke to the sound of, you guessed it…the phone. The restaurant calling wanting to know if I was coming up I said sure about 7- 7:30. Hung up and said “hm…that’s in like a half hour.”

So, today I will go out into my backyard and turn the door over to it’s “right side up for what I want to do” postion and start again on the shed doors. This time my phone stays in the house.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

And likely very few of those leftist criminals are avid students of history. What comes around goes around or put another way, those who don't learn from the past are destined to repeat it.

Currently it is 56 with an expected high of 87 under smokey skies.

First round of eye drops in this morning. Still need to take it easy so, maybe just run a few trains or watch some movies. Do need to do some cooking though.

Todd - I would like to know what you thought of Scheels. Reason I ask is I work at the one in Reno/Sparks. I run the reloading dept, or as we say shop. The Springfield store opened a few years ago. Ours opened in 2008, and is the biggest of all 24.

Paul, Just remember, you asked for it so grab a drink, a pillow and get comfortable.Laugh You're forgetting who you asked!!Laugh

I'm not a sports minded guy, nor do I hunt anymore so it really is just a big ol store full of stuff I'm not really interested in and if I did...chances are what I need I could get at Walmart much, much closer. Scheels is as far south in Springfield as you can get and still be Springfield, and there's a Walmart on the very north end and since I live in Williamsville just north of Springfield...., well.

THAT being said, my only interest is in the gun/ammo area. I'm not a real big gun enthusiast, but I do reload my own cartridges as I have a few, very few, guns. Their gun department, naturally was geared toward hunting long guns/ shotguns and self defense type handguns and they did have a nice selection of those. Long guns I noticed was lacking in Winchester though. None of that is an issue for me to keep me from buying a gun because, quite frankly I am not in the market. I haven't shot mine for probably five years and probably ten before that but am looking for to get a little more done here in the future cause I do enjoy it.

Ok, kinda got away from my thoughts on the area I am interested in and that is coincidentally the reloading section. I was very pleased to see the selection of powders and primers and cases. More than I've seen in one spot short of a gun show around here....ever I think. They also had a good selection of blackpowder supplies and powders because I also have a pair of stainless Ruger Old Army pistols that I must say are my very favorite of all the guns I have or have had.

All in all I'm very pleased that Sheel's is here even though my interest is very narrow. Actually it made me want to clean off the reloading bench in the end of the trainroom by the way, but alas, like the trains that wil have to wait for a bit especially since Brenda mentioned to today... "I thought you were going to clean the garage."Laugh Whistling Their prices seemed reasonable as well. The other store we have that is close is Gander Mountain, and I've been there twice. Scheels is huge compared but....well, let's say more economical. Yes, that's a nice way to put it. At least in the ammo area.

Like I said...you asked for it.LaughLaugh

Good Afternoon/Evening, Janie - I'll just have a RBF, please. Thanks!

Ulrich - that is sad, and scary about those attacks.Sad As you said, take care of yourself and your people. Can the police track down and charge those nuts who participated in the attacks? (I would hope so!) Stay safe, indeed.

Karl, that is pretty amazing about that layout running so well - maybe they bribed Mr. Murphy to stay away?

Ray, so long as you're feeling okay in the morning, and nothing got seriously 'twisted'...Whistling

Galaxy - I won't guess (looked it up), but I did get a chuckle out of 'Oxter' - who'd a'thunk it? Smile, Wink & Grin

Well (dry but humid today, think the frogs are on vacation someplace else at the moment...), not much MRR'ing going on at my place today - unless you count my firing up my train layout design program (RailModeller, developed in Ulrich's country) Thumbs Up Mostly, I was tweaking a 'rebuild' of an earlier design...

Liba, if you have questions about the forums (and how to use 'em), just ask Jeff (one of our moderators, as is Ulrich), or one of the Diners in here. There are a lot of helpful people who likely have had the same or a similar problem as yours (at some point in the past, for the longer-timers)...Thumbs Up

Gonna be another hot 'n' humid day tomorrow (oh, goody!),   and tomorrow morning I need to go have the doctor's lab do bloodw**k (so he can have the results on Wednesday, when I see him). Oops Hmm, I just realized that I already have another appointment Wed. morning with my eye doctor (about 50 minutes after my GP...), so I'll need to call them tomorrow morning (or just tell them when I show up for the bloodsucking bloodw**k. Maybe I can get it changed to Thursday for my GP?

And the St. Louis Cardinals lost to Atlanta today... 5-2 Sigh Well, they've won most of their games lately, at least.

I'll be at the RC for a while (Rivet Counter, for our newer Diners - it's that nice counter where the pastry case, the sugar dispenser - or sugar substitute, salt & pepper shakers, etc. are, and the seats/barstools in front for sitting).

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G.

Zzz......  Huh?  What?  Oh!  Yep!  Zzz

Went to the Brunch today.  All the folks were saying great things about the whole thing!  Near the end of the Brunch I could just feel all the adrenaline leaving my body...  Like the whole world was just slowing down.  Haven't had that feeling since back when I was teaching music and had way too many concerts and special services (Church) to deal with right in a row.

No sooner got home when the doorbell rang and it was son wanting to use my computer for his Fantasy Football thing draft....  Seems his SWMBO had commandeered the iMac at his house and told him he could use her old (and slow) laptop.  He decided to come over here....  I took a nap.

Later!
