The F unit quad has been weighed. I was surprised as it's heavier than I thought. The four units together weigh in at a whopping six pounds (96oz divided by 4 units = 24oz (1.5lb) per unit). No wonder it creates such a rumble when it goes by.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Vanilla Walnut Granola Cereal with fresh Blueberries, and several cups of dark roastr coffee in my R&GV RR mug, please and thank you!
Hmmm. The sun was trying to peak through when I got up a couple hours ago, but has finally given up for the day I think. Currently a dull 63°F outside with lots of clouds and some showers predicted. I am waiting for the tree guy to come by and give an estimate on removing the Hemlock Hedge that has gotten way out of hand and is now blocking my path to get around the shed... Hemlock was popular to use as a hedge for a few years back in the 1950s, about the time the house was built, so I figure it came with the house right from the beginning. I plan to put up a 4' high fence in its place. The neighbors agree it the best thing to do. She will get more room to plant posies and I will likely put in some hostas and other shade loving stuff that won't take much care.
Flip, you are in my prayers for an easy time with the test and a good outcome!
I guess Galaxy got up on the Right side of the bed this morning as did Bill!
Barry, glad to hear you are on the mend!

I will be heading out to Boy Scout camp this afternoon to do a sound check on a few mics with the new equipment.

Good morning. It's 67° with 100% humidity. The high will be 88°.We got plenty more rain last night and two more power outages between midnight and 3am. Today I'll work on the layout a little more. There's still plenty to clean up and put away.
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and some fried mush with Karo syrup please. Thanks. Haven’t had that since I was a kid thank goodness.
Isolated showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 72.
Again, busy all day yesterday….got nothing done. I did get the power washer out and cleaned up the sn*wblower from the winter and put away proper. That was about an hour. Soooooo. Where did the rest of the day before w**k go?
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Nope, she needs the cord. Kinda like that Olympic sport where they had that iron ball at the end of a chain and swung it around their head then let'er fly. Pretty effective.
(This is in reference to the iron posts from yesterday. Seems when I quoted the last, it displayed them (the letters) vertically, instead of the traditional horizontal way we are used to reading therefore making it one of the longest by physical length posts I've seen. So, I just edited the stuff out, until it would post. I guess you can only quote so much before it whacks out on you.)
Our first tropical storm of the season is on its way to New England. It's going to rain, but that's about all we'll see. The lawn should like it. But, good morning and happy Friday anyway.
Tomorrow is our first lobster dinner of the year. Daughter Annie is coming home. She has a summer job at college after graduating, and has her first apartment by herself. She wants to pick up some things for it.
I picked up a pair of Tichy boxcar kits yesterday. My plan is to use them for "Hides Only" service between the slaughterhouse and the tannery. It was common practice to use an end-of-the-line boxcar for this sort of thing, as nobody else wanted to use a boxcar once fresh hides had been shipped in it. Phew!

RODEO:
In 1882 in Pecos, Texas, a rancher offered $100 prizes each for bronco riding, bulldogging and roping. These were simply called 'cowboy competitions' or 'cowboy tournaments'. A promoter in 1916 then decided to use the Spanish term for 'roundup'-'rodeo' { Rodeo is a form of the verb 'rodear'}- to sell tickets to the competitions. As the popularity grew, so have the prize monies, the gambling and the crowds

Well the storm blew through and dumped a lot of rain and made a bunch of lightning strikes before it was finished. I went to my fathers place for pizza just after I shut down earlier. It was while I was there that the brunt of the storm hit. I waited it out then returned home. There's a dirt road between here and there and it was a mess! Even with a bunch of gravel and Arkansas blue stone pushed into it. There are plans to blacktop it but the needed grant hasn't come through. Fortunately I only have to drive over a short stretch of it. Got back here about 8:30. Power went out about 9:15. Came back on around an hour later. I tell you what, it's like a blackout in a coal mine in here when the power goes out at night. I have several electric lanterns here and I keep a good supply of batteries on hand for them for just such occasions. I also have a couple of LED headlights I can wear if I need or want to work on something. Well now that I've used up some of your time it's time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow. For those who may sometimes wonder, my paint supply. It's latex and satin house paint mis-tinted samples that I get for 50¢ to $1 each. I filter it to remove the chunks and grains. That reduces the volume by 1/4 but I can thin it for use in my single action airbrush if I should desire to do so. Not as good as model paints but they work for me.
Evenin' folks!
Janie can I get a very hot cup of decaf? Still clod around these parts!
High today was 58°F... Whooppie!!! Not even a glimpse of the sun either. As Barry would say dark and dull. Very, very, dark and exceptionally dull out there. Want to know how bad it was here today? Let me explain. Two days ago the PV panels on my roof cranked out 30.06 kWh of power. Today all she wrote was 2.32 kWh. That doesn't even cover charging the PiP once, and and some days I charge it twice or more... Dark, very dark! We did get about 1.18" of rain though today. Still coming down at the moment and will continue for most of tomorrow.
I actually did some hobby stuff for a bit tonight. Created a sign for the power plant on Bare Mountain. I would like to have it be a "painted" sign right on the side of the building, but it may have to be a wooden sign hung from the side of the building. Not done yet, so I shall see.
See you all tomorrow "God willing and the creek don't rise". Prayers for all in need!

You are welcome! I didn't think anyone had noticed.
Bill .... You even awakened Duke! Amazing accomplishment! .... Remarkable..... and you also got Flp's attention! ... Keep on posting!
Ulrich ....... I saw your scratch building thread. I did more of that in younger years while modeling the 1900 era. I still have some of the buildings from then. Now, many of my buildings are kitbashed..... One more thing...... I ran my fingernails up the side of a building. .. It was a "scratch building" .... .... Oh never mind!
Rob .... Don't work too hard. Find a little MRR time for sanity breaks.
Jerry ... I've not seen you in a few days, and hope hope you are okay. We care about you.
Cheers, everybody.

Just want to stop by and let you folks know I am still alive. While I am working some decent hours at the St Charlies Mo store, the 1 hour drive each way is kicking my caboose!
Still daydreaming about getting my Road Runner running again. So I have been on the Mopar site a lot of late. I am off Saturday so I hope to stop by for a proper post. I still skim the dinner but I am sure I have missed some and prayers for people in need.

MrB: My throat feels like I've ingested a couple of beakers full of metal scraps and glass bits...it might actually improve the sound quality!!
Well we had some pretty nasty storms come through and it wasn't even the really nasty looking stuff that was on the radar. There was some wind, quite a bit of rain and there were at least three lightning strikes close by including one that rattled my windows real good. If one of them ever breaks I'll be impressed considering they're Lexan polycarbonate. Looking at the radar I see more nastiness approaching so I'm going to shut down and let it pass. I may be back on later but in the event I'm not y'all have a good one.
Thanks Bill That is one day we don't need to forget

Well, erm
As RAY said, tis raining. posta rain all night and into tomorrow. Then rain except Sun for the next 7 days.Days like this are just for napping all day, dunno why i am so tired on rainy days, but i sure feel it in my bones!
LIKE RAY said, we go into the NYSEG {"New York State Electric and Gas" for those who don't know}office there are only 3 people working there...to deal with the bills..usually to pay when we owe nothing! We confuse the 'puter and with MOH out of work so much lately, i let it go to take advantage of the freebie months as they owed us nearly $600 of services at The end of the year balanced billing cycle.
GOt the left half of the planter planted with the Merry golds. The right half is cleared of weeds, but not yet planted. The pond is gross...so gross gonna have to drain it and refill it with new water. Can't find the syphon hose, have to get a new one.
awaiting the next wave of bills to hit. Keeps someone in a j-o-b to answer my bill payments via mail. Also keeps the PO in working order.
GOt my TRAINS mag renewal today..just over $40. Have to think about it now. MOH only had 3 hours this week. Here's to a better week next week, though I doubt it? The college kids are home and they get priority if there longer than MOH, which MOH doesn't get.
