Took the Hibiscus over to the MIL.
I told her "it's the prettiest flower I could find for the prettiest lady I know"...she blushed and said "you, you are such a charmer".....that was the intended results {well not the comment she gave me, but twas not lost on her} {hey it costs nothing and MOH agrees!}
Went to the mall to get a new battery for MOH;s watch, Said ti wasn't the battery? Must be the watch? It cost me over $125 last time a battery change didn't 'satisfy' a watch! maybe MOH needs new watch now? we will see how long it lasts now? That mall..burns us up! They remodeled years ago and took out the terracotta tiles with give to them, to install marble floor with NO give to it and hard on my back about 15 steps inside, I said "it's already affecting my back!" MOH doesn't like it either. we don't do anything there if we can help it! SO they lose our business {big whoop to them I am sure}. The watch place happens to be there though.
Well that s about all for the day today..
Aloha ahiahi ia oukou {good evening to you all}

I mounted one of the Athearn diesel horns on one of the FP7's just to see what it would look like. I like the way it looks. Now I'm thinking about getting more so I can mount them on my other FP7's.

Good evening y'all. Just tired. Also stressed out. Have to pass a D.O.T. physical next month. Ain't gonna happen. Having little "bips" in my chest. Had pre-stress test with cardiologist. Not bad but not good.
Heck, I'll be 77 the end of June and the stent is 12 1/2 years old. Not a bad run.
Garry- Altho I have sent J.R. a few "E"s , have not had a reply.
I have been remiss in adding my condolences to those that have had a loss. Mea Culpa!

PackerI've been working on my SP F7. It has a tsunami and now it has a working mars light. IIRC, the top light in the F7s with dual headlights was the mars.
Afternoon folks!
Chloe, how about one of those butter rum muffins and a glass of lemonade to tide me over until supper? Thanks.
The Air Conditioner is installed and has been tested (I think). I was in Canandaigua whenthey finished. He will come back over tomorrow to show me all the little things that should be done and how to operate it (not rocket science....). Took the PiP in for its 5000 mile service which is rotating the tires, checking/topping off fluids, and hooking up to the computer to make sure everything is all OK. I had them install the decal while I was there expecting to pay a few $ to have them do it. The service part is covered under warranty. Got to the cashier and she said, "Just need you to sign this certifying the work was done." I looked and the total owed was $.00! They didn't charge me a ¢ to put on the decal! I knew there was a good reason for doing business there. I have always gotten good service (with the Yaris), but did expect there would be a charge even though it was about a 5 minute job. Here is a photo for your entertainment:
Catch you all later!

Well me and my brother are supposed the be pressure washing. Niether of us woke up till late, but I told him to do it since I did most of the work on his miata. Sounds fair, right?
I've been working on my SP F7. It has a tsunami and now it has a working mars light. IIRC, the top light in the F7s with dual headlights was the mars. Eventually I'll take the shell off and probably sell it, once I get some BN units finished. I left 1 function output left so I can have a working beacon for later.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Howdy ..... Lunch time. ...... I'll have a Chicago style hot dog, please. ......

I wear my Hawaiian shirts all spring/summer long as does MOH. People love then and we get compliments on them.....even the old ones.
I can see why you'd like the Hula Bean logo!!
Near as I can tell the Hula Bean shop is CLOSED.
We order our Hawaiian Kona coffee form Hawaiian Isles Coffee:
http://www.hawaiianisles.com/?
The have PURE Kona coffee as well as KONA blends.
We haven't ordered any lately as we simply couldn't afford it, but now we will go back to ordering some ocassionally. We also use it for gifts, adn anyone who has gotten it, appreciates it very much!
The Kona coffee has something special to it, can't say what, but it's like the Hawaiian Pineapples from DOle...they taste far sweeter and different than the ones from Costa Rica we get in the stores here on the mainland. THe SECRET is to know how to get Hawaiian Pineapples delivered to the mainland! {and not as cheap as COsta Rica's!!}
Well, MOH is off to work. Now I get to housework and laundry. Was gonna do something "important" today too, but don't remember what. SO much for "important".
Well off i go...
mbinsewiJeff, those coupler cut levers look great, with the brackets and all, what brand are they? I have a bunch of BB's that need them, and plows, and hoses. I was going to try and bend my own, but it's hard to be consistant, unless you buy that fancy tool that Micro Mark sells. I did order a truck tool from Micro Mark, which are on back order. I bought a Reboxx, but not happy with it. It seems so short! You really have to squeeze and actually distort the truck frames to make it work.
Good morning. It's 67° with 100% humidity. Cloudy with a high of 80°.The grass is high and it looks like rain for the next couple of days. So it looks like mowing the grass is on the schedule today. Gotta get it done or it'll only be harder to do later. Oh well, could be worse.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have the #2 special this morning, over easy on the eggs, bacon, home fries, and a double order of sour dough toast to go along with my dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug please.
How about we use Gary for Gary and Garry for Garry? Just wondering...
The HVAC people are here to (hopefully) finish up the air conditioner install this morning. I have to take the PiP in to the dealer (in Canandaigua) this afternoon. Then I have a Properties committee (for Scout Camp) tonight to go to. Good thing I am retired and have all this free time on my hands...
Today is partly cloudy (have seen the cloudy part so far) with thunderboomers scheduled for the afternoon and evening. Thanks Barry!
Best get off the computer as they will be changing some stuff around in the main electrical box very soon.
Later!
Gary/Garry - On our dorm floor in college, we ended up with two Gary's out of 45 guys. As engineers and mathematicians, we distinguished them by calling the first "Gary" and the second "Gary Prime." To this day, 45 years later, he's still called "Prime."

Occasional showers and thunderstorms. High near 73.
Thanks for the condolences for my Aunt, I appreciate them. She did go peacefully and luckily, no pain.
Welp, once AGAIN, no train front news. I did however get the yard mowed down to normal height. Spent most of the day digging the matted down grass from the tall stuff I have left laying on those Bonzai mowing runs. I’m getting in this dethatching mode and hopefully I’ll be able to over seed this winter and the spots will fill in. First I must do several roller runs this year. I’ll try to roll the yard after every healthy rain.
Not much to do now othern maybe some laundry and get the saw horses out of the garage so her car can get back in. Then maybe….juuuust maybe a wee bit of train time. (crosses fingers)
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

The problem is that many do not pay attention to the tool bars a the top or bottom of posts. The tool bar at the top of the posting window is very thorough as far as editing goes, and a sllide of the mouse over the item icon without clicking will tell one what the icon is for in editing posts.
The pencil at the bottom is a bit vague in what it does...and it is there Only AFTER you post of course.
Any one who has used a word processor of some sort will find the toolbar reasonable to understand...
The tool bars at the top of the forums and in the positngs are there to HELP users, so have at it and USE them!

Flo, why is there a ME 109 sitting in my parking places? Pleases.
I Hate My Job, pretty much cover the Work Front! Well, they decided to stay open to 9:00 PM again, boy the extra hour meant a lot to the people that have to close!
Dennis, don't sale the Brass Track short! I have a few sections that came in lots I bought. Was told it was junk, I just never got around to throwing it away. One night I was working on a section of new rail and found I was short of N/S to get it done. Remembered the Brass Track, and used it. It stayed clean as well as my N/S track? While at a train show, I saw a box of 20 brass turnouts for $10.00? Bought the box! Have installed 4 of them, same thing they stay as clean as my N/S track! Only thing I don't like is the color, but if you paint the rails what the heck!
Ulrich, good to see you still have sometime to post! When is the Election?
Todd Sorry to hear about your loss.
Well I am beat, see you all after I get off from the Job I Hate Thursday.

Gary ,,,, I suggest we call ourselves BN Gary and CBQ Garry to avoid future confusion. What do you think of that?
BN Gary ..... Nice start on the new layout.
Ken ..... You were talking about mixing F-units with Geeps. How about an E7 with a GP40? I noticed a picture of that in one of my CB&Q books. The E7 was no longer needed for passenger service and was hauling freight until being traded in to EMD for an SD45 in 1970 about the time of the BN merger, and the E7 was the most dirty Burlington E7 I have ever seen.
Jeff ...... I looked up "Unalihelitseti" with Google. I can't pronounce it, but it was interesting of you to post it. Feel free to post more Cherokee words from time to time.
Flip .... Good to see you. Any chance have you heard from JR who is about to be declared MIA?
Todd ....... Very sorry to hear about your Aunt.
On the layout, my branchline is running as intended now with both the doodlebug and the GE 44T engine in service after converting to DCC and re-powering the doodlebug. The branchline connect with the mainline at Valley Heights and runs to Hinterland where aboot factory is located. With its working backup light, the doodlebug needs not be turned at the end of the line prior to its return trip.
Evenin' folks!
Janie, a cup of decaf would hit the spot. Thank you Ma'am!
Barry, thanks for sending the showers my way today. We actually do need rain as the ground is very dry. I managed to w*rk around the showers today and get a bit more done on the raised beds for my garden. First one is basically done except for a trim I will add around the top edge and the second is over half done as well.
The HVAC people had no sooner left around 11 AM this morning (they got the thermostat wires in and the base laid for the air conditioner), when the doorbell rang. It was my son and grandaughter #2 . He was in Geneva with a couple errands to run so I got to watch the little one while he got them done. As soon as he left she says, "Papa, can I see your trains?" Well she doesn't have to ask twice to do that! I told her the trains couldn't be run right now but I had some projects I have been doing. See was completely engrossed in how I had been painting some things and picked up a couple of the brushes and pretended to paint some things. Then I showed her the plaster castings for the Blacksmith Shop and the mold I made. She took one of the walls and put it back in the mold and then took it back out about a dozen times. Her dad showed up at about that time so she had to leave even though she wasn't happy about it. I think I may have a helper for the layout in a few years....
I then had to run several errands myself. First stop the Drug Store to pick up an Rx, then to Lowes for some more needed supplies for the raised beds, then over to grocery store to pick up some things I was out of. Got home and the rain had stopped so I did a bit more work outside. This evening I spent sorting and getting a couple hundred photos from the MLK Service last January ready to be used in a powerpoint slide show for the MLK Scholarship Dunner in two weeks. You know if you take enough pictures one or two are bound to be good. Most of what I did tonight was try to find those few that are really good. I also changed the resolution, adjusted exposure, tone, and color on them.
Terry, glad to hear your son is on his way back home. Praying the trip will be relaxing and safe!
Todd, sorry to hear about your Aunt. Sounds like at least she wasn't in pain and went peacefully. Will keep you and your family in my prayers during this time!
About time for me to start the chain saw for the night...
Have a great night and mt prayers for all in need!
Evening folks, yea, I guess, just a quick one in a frosted mug please. Thanks dear! keep the change!
Finally got caught up on my yard work, well....close anyway, as I still have a lot of branches and misc. stuff to run through the chipper. Got the "Grub-X" down too, as it helps control the massive invasion of Japanese beetles, or what those hard shelled, florescent green things are called. They ruin the grapes and the raspberries if not kept in check. Had to do some maintenance work on the electrical system of the Craftsman tractor. Hoping soon I get the time to rebuild / restore the mower deck for my Simplicity 700.
I guess that's enough of yard talk ! Feels good to get out and get stuff done. Sad to say, the train room lights haven't been on all week yet. I do have a trip planned to my favorite some-what LHS (about 25 miles) to pick up a couple of DH123D on sale for $15.00, and a bunch of coupler boxes, shims, and a height gauge, all of which is on sale yet this month.
Jeff, those coupler cut levers look great, with the brackets and all, what brand are they? I have a bunch of BB's that need them, and plows, and hoses. I was going to try and bend my own, but it's hard to be consistant, unless you buy that fancy tool that Micro Mark sells. I did order a truck tool from Micro Mark, which are on back order. Oh yea, a question for you seasoned "posters", how do you edit your post ? As an example, Dennis, above, seen he was going to be at the top of the page, and his edit, buying a round for everyone, shows up in the original post. Did I explain that clear? Like if it was me, I'd click on post, than see that I ended up on top, or wanted to change something, I would end up replying again, in a seperate post. Anyway! how do you do that? (wow, now I'm even confused )
OK, I better drink up and get going ! Have a great night everyone!
