Well, gee, young sakel,

When you move the diner, you are also to: polish the rivet counter, sweep/mop the floors, clean the windows, empty the trash, do the dishes, fill the ice bin, polish the side walls and clean the restrooms!!!!

I see you have DONE none of that! get to work!

ALso request from a moderator to LOCK THE old thread!!!! Darren {storubridge lion} is a user-mod..ask him to lok the old thread becasue otherwise some of us knuckleheads will still be posting there!

Now that we are here, yu have to provide links all month long as to WHAT exactly is here!!! so where is our first stop??? and what is there to do there?

Just catching you up on your duties as diner mover!

Good Morning from KindaHotVille...

It seems to be already sticky out, even if it is only 70F....Going to a high near 85F feeling like 97F...and no rain forecast.

Today, later on in the afternoon I will find out if'n more ding dang fricking fracking treatments are needed...I hope not...

Then, maybe afterwards, going to go by the mall and pick up some things to make the evening go by with a good taste..Whistling

Good Morning All,

Ken, good luck, my break lines cost me $1,053.00 but I had to have both front rotors repaired.  Well actually they had a sale on the rotors so replacing both front cost the same as the replacement parts.  The break line from the firewall to the rear axle had to be replaced.  I had to have it done at the dealership so I’m sure I paid top dollar on labor.

I got the bill for my surgery in the mail; insurance covered everything except $25 of the $5,000.00 bill so I won’t mind writing that check.  I was expecting a $67,000 bill or something.

I see we hit 71 pages last month….

Once I get the bill for the second mortgage (that I have almost paid off) I need to call them and see if they would consider loaning me the money for a new driveway.  Not something I really want to do, but it is something that needs to be done.

Gidday All, Meridian , Mississippi Hmm, had to have a "google" , a town with a strong railroad history and a Naval Air Station, trains and planes, got  to be a good place for a diner.

Just a quick hot chocolate before bed please. 1142 hours and currently 51 F with an expected high of 55 F tomorrow with more rain.

Thoughts and best wishes to all that need them,

Cheers, the Bear.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and a bologna sandwich with lettuce and tomato please. Thanks.

Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.

Garry- Prayers going out for todays surgery.

Barry- Hope you get some good news as well.

Paul- Hope your wife gets better soon.

I see DerJohn blew in just in time before they closed the door. Good to see him.

Ray- I think a cell phone is a good idea.  I too hate the phone for what sounds like the same reasons you do. The intrusive calls that interrupt things and those that well, just annoy you. Me. Us. I just love those that ask you 'what took you so long to get to the phone?" or when they see you ask you "why you didn't answer the phone when they calle" like all I have to do is wait for their call. Or I have to drop what I'm doing because they are just that important. Oh the phone can be so rude. Rining in the middle of a show, interrupting dinner or a conversation with no regard for politeness. Super Angry Big SmileBUT I think a cell phone is a good idea as you are never far from assistance AND if the right plan is shopped for, cheaper than a home phone long distance included and you don’t have to be home to use it. Never more than a foot from the Grand daughters.

OK, today I get a good fling at the bathroom. SadNo, the vinyl isn’t all up. I know, I know. No excuse, but after all my other shtuff was done yesterday I just didn’t feel like finishing the removal, which I easily could have, before w**k. Well that and the History channel had some thing about the real wolfman which turned out to be a Hyena. Interesting about the silver bullet though. But ToDAY! Today I have nothing to do but the floor…….. So far.

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Good morning.  Yeah, opening up a business is a lot of work, isn't it?

New England is under cloudy skies right now.  It's not beach weather, but I'm much happier with moderate weather.  The AC has been off for a week, and a couple of nights not even the fans have been running.  And I'm waking up much more refreshed from a solid night's sleep.

 Morning Folks

 Flo, Coffee Pleases

Called last night and they did not get my car brake lines fixed. All well, I still have Sues car to drive. Break lines go bad was not a surprises, our first Town Car lines rusted out right at 120,000 miles. Seems a little odd. My Road Runners lines are the original ones.

Far as trusting the shop to fix the lines. 2 of the Mechanic I trust, the other one (Bob) is good with what he knows how to do. Throw his a curve, he may very well drop the ball.

Work today from 10:00 to 7:00, then I am off Thursday so I can have the Surgeon's look at my foot and see how the graft is doing.

Gary, good luck and hope all goes well.

Got some calls to make then off to work.

Good Morning Modelers!

Another month is gone and a new one at hand.  Already 70F here heading for yet another 90+ day by the looks of things; missing those Alaska 60's I has enjoying last week.

All the digital photos have been download and backups are in progress.  Got 25.8G of video downloaded and processes which is about 25% and will still need to get a backup of that still.  No travel blog entries yet for the trip posted but will let folks know when each are there.

My thoughts out to all in need... Angel

Ken: You haven't forgotten me have you?

Good morning. It's 77° with 98% humidity. The high will be 95° but will probably feel like 110°.
http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l608/scott-running-bear/cond026.gif

With the high humidity the air is almost liquid and it's already rather sticky out there. Today is bill paying day and they aren't going to pay themselves. Most I can pay online but a couple have to be paid in person. Some companies haven't yet figured out that we progressed beyond the stone age some time ago. I also have some grocery shopping to do. I'm a little short on funds this month as a company I get some of my coins from took the full amount for the last one in one payment and over drafted my account. The order form mentioned installment payments but I never heard from the company on it. The bank paid the overage and slapped me with the overdraft fee. After I receive a coin I got on a credit voucher I won't be doing business with that company again. Other companies I do business with always charge in installments. As to the rest of the day I may get some layout work in later. If I feel up to it I may mow my parents yard. It needs it. The down side of that is that I'll have to use my father's little MTD Yardman as the Peerless is still down.

Well well

Went grocery shopping and spent $39 more than I wanted to.

I could NTO believe how prices HAVE JUMPED IN 1 WEEk!!!!

Mayo went up a whole $1 a jar!! Sweet corn on the cob was 5/$1.89 last week, this week 6/$2.98!! $2 cereals went up to $3!! 5 for $10.00 entrees went to 4 for $10.00!!! The $2.99 salad mixes went to $3.99!!! A package of frozen chicken yused to come with 2 thighs, 2 breasts and 2 legs for $6.99. NOW it is 2 breasts, two thighs and ONE leg for $7.49!!!
Gonna get costly to get food boy and girls.

SO if the wifey, GF or sig. other asks for MORE money for the food budget, BETTER give it to them!!!! Unless you want to starve!!!

WEll, my internet phone is nto working so I suppose I'd better call TIme WARner cable and complain!!!

Have the pulmonologist and a breathing test today to see how little I can breathe later.

So Id best get to things and stuff and dtuff and things!

Back home, Folks!

It was only a two day stay, thanks to a ruptured vessel and half a quart of blood in my body. The vessel is "out of business" and the blood has been "pumped out". Petra just took me home - I can´t really say that I am feeling well. At least no surgery - yet.

Sam - thanks for moving the Diner to its August location. Oh my gosh, it´s August already! Time surely flies by when you got nothing serious to do Sad

This month will put a heavy drain on our finances - the car tax is due and the car needs to see its bi-annual technical inspection. I hope it passes, but the chances are not too good. After all, it a twelve year old French car, having to pass a German inspection. Thoughts of Verdun come to my mind ...

Angel candles for Garry and Jeff´s mother are lit up!

Have a good one!

Mornin' everyone!

So...........  Where are we?  Mrs. Ippy, huh.....  OK.  So why isn't the dinner scrubbed and fit to eat in after the move.  Oh, I guess the kid is still learnin' the ropes....  THAT's OK, I'm used to messes.  Zoe, I'll have a cup of dark roast coffee, just as soon as you wash out my R&GV RR mug and a couple sour cream glazed donuts to dunk in it.  Thank you, Ma'am.

Todd, If I get cell phone it will be in addition to the home phone.  I can get a "green" plan for $29 a month, but it doesn't have a lot of so called.... ah, "free" minutes.  I don't need a lot of the "free" minutes as I don't plan to ever use the darn thing except in an emergency anyway.  I usually let messages sit on my home phone for a few days before calling the party back (if and when I feel like it...).  Got one there right now from a person here in town who wants me to transfer a tape to a CD for her..... I'll get back to her tonight.  Maybe.

Ulrich, glad you are back home and hope you are feeling better soon.  My prayers for you.......

Currently 74°F and humid outside in the Finger Lakes.  The high will be in the low 80's this afternoon with a chance of thunderstorms and such.

Guess i will get to doing some of the many things I have been putting off!

Later!

 Morning All,

Going to hit 101 today, but low humidity. (it's not the heat it's the humidity) don't believe it. IT IS HOT.

Wednesday is my usual day off, but not going to get much done today. Have to take the wife to the surgeon later for her two week visit after surgery, hope things look  good on that front. She has an appointment with the oncologist on Fri, I really hope we get a good report from him.

Still playing with decoder pro and my Tsunami for the GP 9. At some point I will have to upgrade the Digitrax Big Boy system to take advantage of all the functions.

Prayers to Jeff's mom, Ulrich, Gary, and anyone else I missed.

Dennis: That's good news on getting the car radio wiring straightened out. I've had some that were real Chefboyardee jobs by the time they got to me, my current vehicle included.

Got the bill paying, gas buying, errands and the first half of the grocery getting done. Got home and got the groceries put away then went back out to investigate a hydrogen sulfide type smell I'd smelled in the van. It doesn't have a catalytic converter so it couldn't be that. That left one thing. The battery. Sure enough it was fizzing and bubbling and producing that hydrogen sulfide odor. I worked on cars for too long not to know what that meant. The battery had a short in it. So I had to go back to town to get a new battery. It only cost $88.68 from Advance Auto Parts. I used to get batteries at Wal-Mart and Auto-zone but usually ended up taking them back several times. Only had that happen once in fifteen years with Advance. One of the counter clerks put the battery in for me. I bet if he'd known what was in store for him he wouldn't have done it. But in the end and with the loan of one of my SAE wrenches he got it done. The + clamp didn't want to spread open to fit on the post but a rubber mallet convinced it that it wanted to be there. Well that puts the wiper motor off for another month or so. I had hoped to get it this month.

Evening All,

Went to the MD today to go over my work physical lab results so now I am on meds for Cholesterol and I need to do a A1c blood test. Other than that not much else was done. It was nice to just relax for awhile. Tomorrow I'm driving up to see Jon at the LHS. I always enjoy our conversations.

Has anyone heard anything about Garry yet?

Jeff- It's a good thing you smelled the battery before it made a real mess.

Barry- Hope you got good news todayYes

This is a Pennsy  I1sa I just weathered

Wonder what the bill would have been under Odama care???

Blessings to all.

Office visit with the surgeon for my wife was OK. Took out the staples, I do not know why they did not use regular stitches and I forgot to ask the doc. Visit with the oncologist this Friday morn, and back to hospital for an out patient surgery a week from Fri. Then went and did a little grocery shopping. Not much time to work on trains today. Will see if she is OK enough for me to go to work tomorrow.

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Ice water pleases.

Boy I am beat again. Slow day to boot, it sure dragged on today. I have got my car back, but not sure what the bill will be. My employee number is working again, but not in all areas of the computer system. Dave wrote the ticket but computer would not apply a discount? Go Figure.

Jeffery I have not forgotten. I will try and look Thursday, but I have 2 doctors appointments so I will have a lot of running. Funny you brought up the Sulfur Smell tonight. Today when I drove Sues car I smelled the same thing. I just replaced it this spring with one of our battery's. Could one of are battery's be bad? Nah, not ours! Whistling

Well I am done and beat. I will talk more Thursday if they don't keep me at the Hospital.

Sorry for taking so long checking in, internet has been down the last 24 hours, funny thing as the phone still worked.

Did not know the proper procedure for moving the diner, forgive that.

Good Morning All,

Curt, nice weathering job.

Got a letter from the County auditor does office want to reduce the value of my house to 1971 values?  I paid $105,000 for the house in 2000 today they are telling me it’s only worth $51,500 without any explanation but if I want to challenge their decision I have to provide enough proof to change their mind.

I had a different mechanic look at my truck; in his opinion all I need is a new starter cable and a new serpentine belt.

Rob, I hope everything works out for your brother.

Jeffery, is there any news on your mother’s condition?

Ulrich, I’m not a doctor but it sounds like something serious is going on.

Pascaff, they glued me back together after my last surgery.  Good luck with your surgery.

Flip, yea I was shocked that the surgery with 2 days in IC was less than $5,000.  When I had my kidney stone surgery I think the bill was around $62,000 for out patent surgery.
