Jeff- Great video. I really like the room acoustics. It seems to give a realistic wheel clanking.

Afternoon guys
My 2 Atlas GP38s (technically they are GP38Xs) showed up today. Nice looking locos, and they really nice next to my P2K GP38-2. Proto and atlas's color on these units are pretty much a match, but athearn's is a bit lighter. Still a GP38-2, GP38X, GP38X, GP15-1 consist would be pretty cool and fairly prototypical. I just wish I knew how to get the shells off so I can change the bulbs for LEDs. I think one needs oil on the bearings because it whines a bit, but it could be that atlas dual-mode decoder.
Jeff, I love the sound of the metal wheels on the metal rails. I guess your trailer has really good acoustics for that sound. Although I have to ask what that humming sound is?
Ken, I think florida takes the cake on the "woman talking on cell phone and driving heaven." Add in all the tourists, easy liscense tests, alcohol, and people who probably shouldn't be driving in these parts and it's a literal demolition derby.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Packer Jeff, I love the sound of the metal wheels on the metal rails. I guess your trailer has really good acoustics for that sound. Although I have to ask what that humming sound is?

Good Evening
Well, we got lotsa sun..enough to get more tanned..more lobsterized by the looks of things... and because of that am spending the rest of the day indoors running trains...
Got the vampire visit done for the CBC and the other stuff...and have appointment to start treatments next Friday.... oh frabjious joy...
Jeff: Like how the video looks and sounds...as to nincompoop..meh..there are a lot of email sites anymore that the person can use and ditch in no time..had a couple of them things show up here...

Well I managed to get the Atlas GP38 shells of before I went off to class (where I'm at now). They were pretty tight, and based on that and the wheel treads so I'm assuming these two units haven't been used much. I'll probably wolder up some LEDs for these units tomorrow. I may add beacons and firecrackers to these two as well. I would attempt to use SMDs for the beacons, but I'm very apprehensive about using them.
Barry, I get a chuckle out of you reffering to blood draws as a "vampire visit". I used to get those things every other week.
Time for me to call it a night. The Frankenstein F unit trio, the GP38/SD27J and the Trainmaster/U30EM645 teams all got run today. Tomorrow I'll give the GP7's a run and I may bring out the old Atlas GP40's. See y'all tomorrow.
Yeah...I'm off to go to as well....g'night!!
Howdy ......
Curt ... Your scenery looks nice.
Jeff ... I like the video, and the F-units look good.
Ray ... The roof looks solid. What was the reason for taking down the tree?
JimCG .... The building looks like it is going together nicely.
Vincent .... Sound like you are busy with locomotives.
Ulrich .... Take care of yourself. Hope you soon have plenty of great news.
Happy Model Railroading everybody.

Thank you Flo.
Need to check to see if I still have feet! Sure feels like they fell off right now! Went in a little late today(I did call first and let Eric know) about 45 minutes. Originally I was not to come in till 3:00 PM, I got there at 12:40.
When I got there I asked Eric wheres Craig? (new hire) Answer was "Don't know, was he scheduled"? Yep he was!
So either he is in Jail, that would not surprises me or he saw he had to work at this job! That is more than likely, he was the one that kept saying "I got to go"! To be honest I glad he is gone. He seemed like he was there more to play than to buckle down and work.
Embezzler at work. No it's not I Am The Larry. When I first started working here I was sent to the Bridgeton store where I met Steve. Steve was just given the store and was the youngest manager our company ever had. He was full on energy and was a go getter! In fact he Got $32,000.00 in only 11 days! I am impressed! To bad the idiot used his own Credit Card to do the deed?
Been daydreaming about the lottery. Been working on ideas for the back yard if I hit it BIG TIME. This what I came up with!
Let me know what you think of the idea! Come on Power Ball!
See you all Thursday and I am not answering the phone! I am off.

There aren't enough locomotives and cars in that picture to satisfy your needs! You will need a much bigger yard!!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Good morning all. Hi Flo!. Toasted bagel, smear of cream cheese, slab of lox.and slice of onion. Pot o coffee, please. Its 71F and goin' up to 92f. Man do we need rain. Fires are all over the state. Newest one is 1300 acres.
Deb is doing great. The glue is still holding her together. The back brace is doing its job too.
Looking forward to meeting Curt at lhs.About six hours from now. Coffee is ready.
Prayers and Blessings for all .

Good Morning!!!
Just coffee please. Thanks. I ate enough of those little chocolate covered donuts for all of us. Oh wouldn’t you know Flips buying too.
Sunny, with a high near 91. Breezy, with a south wind 14 to 17 mph increasing to between 26 and 29 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
Ray- You are most welcome sir. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better for it as well. The lightening of the load I mean. Not the tree. Though, if it fell in a spring storm.....mybe you're feeling better about that as well.
Jeff- Surely you jest about the stolen F3B. Seriously? What’ this guy expect? You to just say….”duuuuuh OK. I’ll send it to you” I mean to say something like that to someone else is one thing but to tell the builder he didn’t do it is just…well….I don’t know. Stupid? Oh I see, I guess he didn’t want it back if he removed the chances of contacting him.
Ken- Now it’s your turn to lose me. Wouldn’t this guy have to buy $32,000 worth of services and pay? I mean unless you have an outstanding commission program that pays more than the service itself….
Gotta pay a few bills today then into the office where I must clean out and get ready for to put down a new floor. Been getting off track for that so it’s time to get back on it.
Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Getting sunshine and warmer temps today...posta get to 82F later on...
Had a chance to run some trains last night and had no derails, incidents or accidents...which is a good thing here...
Today is going to be get some more groceries loaded into the house and buy some more of that pink stuff later...need to rebuild a section of yard ...again...
Flip: Good to hear Deb is on the mend...
Have a good day!!
Morning All,
Got to go by the bank machine, chiropractor, then drive up to see Phil at the LHS. After that I have a couple of errands to run then start filing out car cards. I still haven't decided how I am going to do train orders. The ones the club uses is confusing to me so I don't do club ops very often.
Ken- That would be a awesome back yard.
Everyone take care and talk to you later.
Good Afternoon Folks,
a bright and sunny day over here, temperatures are at 28°C and a little wind makes it feel comfortable.
I was able to go outside, all the way to the parking lot, to help Petra carry the grocery inside. That´s progress! I also will be able to keep my little Japanese layout, as we have other things we can sell to pay some bills coming up. Makes me feel a little better.
On the flip side, I just lost another job opportunity. There is a new LHS opening up in Bremen, and they were looking for a store manager. The verdict was "overqualified" ... How I hate this word!
I still dream of moving to Canada, far away from civilization, as I am developing a strong dislike for people, especially Germans.
Have a good one!
Columbian roast coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.
OK, if YOU were going to take a excursion train and you wanted to "look out the windows" but also appreciate being comfortable, which of the following cars would you choose to ride in?
1) Coach, 2) Premium Americus Car, or 3) Lounge-Hawkins Car? http://samshortline.com/news
Contemplating taking one of these train rides because I haven't been on one since leaving WA state umpteen years ago and could use a train fix. Your opinions will be appreciated. Thanks!
Trying to shift from being a vampire/night owl to that of a human being. It's going to be a slow process. Think I'll accomplish more and hopefully feel better if I can make the change.
Have a great day y'all.
Cheers! Rob
Ulrich- I too know what you mean about being " Overqualified" . My son applied at a McDonalds for a job and was told the same thing, COME ON NOW overqualified to work at a McDonalds. OK Scottie beam me up there is no intelligent life here. Otto

Good Morning Modelers!
Well, it rained and rained some more last night and woke up to a misty morning as I headed off to work. Right now it's 46F with fog but it will burn off soon and get into the low 70's by afternoon. Looks like it might be mostly a nice weekend coming up but I have already been warned the "Task List" for this weekend is a bit long.

Good morning. It's 76° and partly cloudy. The high will be 92°.I may mow my parents yard today or I could put it off until next week. Nothing planned for today except to clean up the layout a bit.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a big bowl of the Pumpkin Seed Flax Organic Granola this morning and several cups of dark roast coffee as well.
Currently 74°F outside the door here in the Finger Lakes with a high around 80°F this afternoon. We also need rain very badly at the moment. Possibility of a few thunderstorms rolling through later, but I'm not holding my breath....
I put the air conditioner in the window in the dining room/office yesterday. Will probably have it running within the next hour.
Garry, the tree was diseased (Some kind of beetle damage) and was dieing out in places. It was also starting to crown up on one side at the base. If I end up putting solar panels on the new roof, it also shades the roof for a few hours in the early morning, thereby reducing the output of the panels. I am surprised that several neighbors have told me it was a good decision. One of them just noticed the very large dead limbs in her Maple tree..... She thinks it needs to get trimmed at least.
Many of the neighbors have stopped and chatted when I have been outside and told me the really like the new roof as well.
Flip and Curt, hope you guys have a fun meeting at the LHS!
I best get out and do some w*rk in the garden (Still removing "sport" garlic before I rototill it) and get a few other outdoor things done before the heat of the day!
Later!

Greetings,
We had a nice time yesterday. Got up a little early, had breakfast at our local diner, then drove up to Conneaut, Ohio to railfan the CSX line. It's about a 2 hour drive. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze coming off the lake. Rai traffic was a little light with only 5 trains in about two and a half hours. CSX has new rail laid in beside both tracks. A guy we were talking to from the museum said they were replacing about 10 miles of track. Fortunately, nobody was working where we were at. I've seen NS doing track work a couple of times, and it's pretty dusty.
It's in the low 70's here right now, but they are calling for temperatures in the low 90's for the next couple of days. But who knows. They have also been calling for thunderstorms the last couple of days and we haven't seen a drop of rain. I'm still putting the sprinklers on the new sod in the front yard, and I wouldn't mind a few days of rain. I dread receiving the next water bill, as well as the next sewage bill. That's based on water consumption.
Today has been busy. Started off watering the flower beds, trimming the hedges in the front, folded some laundry for the wife, and ironed about 6 pairs of pants. After lunch, I hope to get the living and dining rooms cleaned. I'll be the first to admit, I don't know how my wife did all this for so many years. Man, I sometimes feel like I'm just barely holding my head above water.
Ray - I like the new roof you had installed. I've replaced my roof twice in the last 40 years with shingles. I can't recall ever seeing a steel roof on a residential building in this area. But with a life of 80 years, it seems like such a good idea.
Hope everyone has a good one. Tom

Morning guys
I did it again. I woke up at 5-ish, ate, then went back to sleep for a few more hours...
I tried converting my GP38Xs to LEDs, but they have really bad light leaks. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in the back light pipe and putting the LED in the hole. I did something similar to that on a Bachmann FT I had. I have them dissasembled, but I'm going with my father to pensacola in a few so it'll wait till tomorrow. I could just leave them sandwinched my the GP38-2 and the GP15.
Ulrich, Overqualified is why I don't work at an auto-parts store or the LHS. It seems they don't want people who know what they are talking about. The latter was really they are more geared to radio control cars and not trains.

Vincent, how right you are! I don´t want to get into politics or social studies, but I have a feeling that employers hate people who know what they are doing. They expect them to earn good money for a job well done. Knowledgeable folks are also not easily "talked" into doing stupid things ...
Doesn´t do me any good , though.
Morning
Flo, Diet Dew Please.
Why the sigh on my day off? Well, I looked at this Friday paycheck on line. It seems like I am a wise at work here lately. Yet it say's last period I worked 80 hours regular hours and only 4.58 overtime? That just does not sound right. Time to start taking notes of when I clock in and out.
Have a job interview Friday. I am not hold my breath on this one. You know there is something up when they won't give you any details over the phone and want to know if you can start Tuesday. In other words "That is when there next training class starts". Hiring people in masses because 85% of them quite during training or the same week. But at this point I feel like I have nothing to lose but the gas money it will take to get there!
OK Jefferey How where you sure-post to have gotten the stolen engine? Did you go to there house and steal it, they left it at your house and you won't give it back? Or did Scotty Beam It To You By Mistake?
Todd What Steve did was he started giving him self refunds from National Accounts to his credit card. Personally I just don't understand that kind of greed. He should have been making in the $60,000's. Hum, maybe he was into Trains!
Flip We need some of that GLUE! Bet that would keep the horn on my SD40-2! Glad Deb is doing better!
Had more to say, but I am just to tired. Time to eat anyway.
Dave To few Engines? This would be the side yard!
See you all latter!
Good Afternoon...
Well, kinda windy outside right now...25-35mph coming from the SE...so far....
We ended up getting the pink foam and the groceries in one fell swoop..now pleasantly ensconced at home in the A/C....
Anyhoooo...going to go run some trains today for a bit....
cudaken OK Jefferey How where you sure-post to have gotten the stolen engine? Did you go to there house and steal it, they left it at your house and you won't give it back? Or did Scotty Beam It To You By Mistake?
Got the parents yard mowed and I got the harnesses I needed for the two Digitrax decoders I got recently. The GP35 they're propped against will be one of the recipients.
Evening All,
The trip to the LHS was good and bad. The store was closed (normally open) with a sign on the door that it would be closed today. So I need to run back up there tomorrow but I will call to make sure Jon is there (45 min drive). The good thing is I finally met Phil. He was standing in the parking lot when I arrived. We talked for about 15 minutes before going our separate ways. I was going to ask him if he wanted to get a drink (non alcohol) so we could talk more but he had been there awhile and I figured he needed to get back to Deb. The meeting confirmed my feeling that he is a very nice gentleman.
I got home and with my son we trimmed the front tree and hedge (at least it was in the shade). I then proceeded to spend 4 hours of mindless tedium filling out car cards and color coding the tops of them to find cars quicker. I also laminated a color index to go with them.
Everyone take care and prayers for those in need.
