Good Morning!! Coffee and scrambled eggs with sausage gravy and an order of hash browns please. Thanks. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 74. Breezy, with a south southwest wind between 14 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. I’m really enjoying the photos being posted. Thanks for the effort. It makes me “homesick” so to speak. I really feel the urge to get back into the swing of things. It seems something always comes up though. Curt- Actually, though it’s a royal pain, the plumbing is not what I’m not sure of. It’s the actual tiling and building of the shower that’s got me hesitant.

Cutting and pasting Sue’s comment on too much work to keep clean. This comes from another woman and should carry more weight than a man. I think.
Jim- No word from Ziva yet. Must have gotten sidetracked. Probably busy. Besides my Birthday isn’t until Sunday so she has time to surprise me yet.... Well, the two stores across from each other does have it’s disadvantages, but they spin into advantages. Like I didn’t have to drive back and forth across town to look. After a while, you will kinda get to know what you would get from either store. For instance, I get what construction lumber I need from Lowe’s simply because it’s inside and I get to pick and see what condition it is before I buy it. Menard’s is buy the ticket and then head out to the yard and get it then find out there is only pretty much scrap there until the restock shows. Except for smaller boards and some fancy boards. Also when I had to match trim, the size at Menard’s was not the same, but at Lowe’s it was. They often do that. But in general, for like items Menard’s is usually cheaper. Oh and the waitress thing, it’s worth it.
I too have the supermarket. I’m thinking of turning it into an auto parts store. Just a thought.
Barry- Yes I know what you mean about the multiple stores and the "let's see what so and so has" effect. They claim to beat others prices, but like the big computer stores, they never carry the exact like item. It’s nice to have the selections though so as not to have to settle for something you really need but don’t like completely.
Well, today I have to do the weekly bookwork for the Church. Had the fish fry Friday so that means I’ll have to drive to town and pay the fish bill to the meat place. While I’m there I mmay just stop off at Arby’s (no affiliation) and get a Reubin sandwich I see on TV. I will not be sucking 1000 island dressing through a straw though. Just not my bag man.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a glass of Ed's OJ, a blueberry bagel and a Rio Grande mug of coffee, please. Thank you, Ma'am!
Hope (in the U.S.) everyone's starting to adjust to the time change and was able to rest okay last night. I tried to not do my usual bit of staying up too late doing stuff (that really could wait...).
We didn't get as much yesterday as what I was expecting from our "100 percent chance" forecasted by our weather gurus (but I'm not that disappointed...). Jeff, your r**n must have just gone east from Louisiana this time.
Todd, good luck with "The Twins" and your tag team match (except, without a team member for your side)! You may want another "ace in the hole" besides the grouting one. Curt's idea sounds good (if I were the one in your position, which I'm not) Maybe you could quote Sue as someone you "read about online" who did the tile thing - and regretted it? Good to hear that Ziva still has a few more days to show up with your (cough...) birthday card, too.
Ulrich, your boat sounds like a project or so that I've tackled - pace yourself and don't think too far down that road (yeah, I remember, definitely do not get in a rush...)! Sounds like you are doing the craftsmanlike thing and taking your time. Excellent pics of your locos in the modules - they are great for showing off your locos, all right!
Garry - a good reminder for us about the earthquake and tsunami anniversary.
MoeLarryCurly4, hope you get your 'bug' gone ASAP!
Well Galaxy, I guess Rob was your lightning rod tester for you (and he didn't get bleeped!).
OzJim, on your bridge(s) support, what about a trestle in that spot? Wouldn't be too involved to make, and it may give you some options for lining up your bridges.
Hey, lookee, everybody - Bill' T.s photo shows that Snap-Track is prototypical!
Our weatherguessers are saying that by Thursday or so, the wet stuff will return. None of the drippy-drippy this morning (moved across the river to Garry's neck o' the woods), and it's supposed to reach the 70's (F) today and tomorrow and likely the day after that. Shame I'm at w**k these 3 days - prime painting weather for me! Ah, well, "tomorrow will be another day" (as somebody said...).
And w**k is... w**k. Heard talk that the upstream bunch is thinking of having our two people who cover the office in daytime, to also cover our outlying counties (where none of us are familiar with the roads or where things are...). (Good Lord, deliver us!)
I'll settle in here at the window booth and see what trains are going by this morning.
Blessings and prayers,
Jim in Cape G.
Good Afternoon!
I woke up this morning with a bad case of arrhythmia, so I had to spend all morning at the doctor´s place, hooked up to an IV bag with something I could not identify. The heart rate is better, but now I feel funny in my head. No MRRing or w*rking on the boat today...
Jim - the kit is definitively not one of the shake-the-box kind. It is not overly complicated to assemble, but you have to take your time. It is a fun project, though.
Going to retire to the sofa - I am not feeling well.
Jim this cough can't go away fast enough.

Mornin' everyone!
How about THAT! I got in here before noon today..... Zoe I'll have the #2 special, over easy on the eggs, bacon, home fries, and a double order of sourdough toast. What? Of course I want my dark roast coffee! Please use my FGLK mug. Thanks!
At the moment it is nice and sunny outside and 48°F with a high of 62° later this afternoon. I need to get out and dig more parsnips before the liquid sunshine takes over this afternoon.
Ken, I started at the photo you put in here last night for a long time. What Charger?
Jim, they even make pre-assembled switches these days. The museum had pone put in off the LA&L mainline (old Erie) which passes the museum to access our new siding for the storage of the Empire State Express.
Guess I best get moving and see if I can get anything accomplished today.......

Good morning. It's 67° and partly cloudy. The high will be 78° with a 20% chance of thunderstorms. My father has something planned this morning so any plans I might have been thinking of have been moved to this afternoon. I'll know what they are as soon as I think of them.
Morning, I think?
Flo, 2 liters of Coffee Please.
Ray, Boy I am tired, I had to think about your comment for a few seconds before I got your drift.
Still beat from yesterday, I was going to make a run to St Louis. But, the way I feel right now the only trip I will be making is to the couch for a nap.

Strong coffee in a VERDE CANYON RAILROAD mug, please. Yup, with an overcast day and rain here today, my thoughts drift back to Arizona.
Been in pain the past few days, the worst being yesterday. Could hardly walk. Either have some (male related) infection or body is trying to pass a stone. Anyway, it is ever so slightly better today, so I'll keep drinking extra fluids, use ice packs and continue to rest except for minimum required chores. OUCH!
Picked up Selu (female Great Pyrenees) from vets today after having her spayed. They had to carry her for me, no way I could lift anything right now. Only cost $315. Another OUCH for a dog I don't even want.
Todays highlite was I got to cross a bridge over the main RR tracks through Fairmount, GA. To bad there wasn't a train running under it at the time, but still nice to see some real tracks.
Have enjoyed viewing all the pics being posted here.
Cheers! Rob
I over did it yesterday so a calm day today.
Relaxing.
Dinner tonight steak and potatoes with asparagus tips.
Tomorrow I have errands, wed. i have grocery shopping and free bread day so will be busy and will need to rest today before I overdo it on those days, too.
I will go now shred the weeks private stuff for pickup tomorrow.
Rain posta settle in here sometime this evening. My thermometer said 68* for a high, but that is a tad warm on the porch without sun though.
ROB- pets are expensive these days, especially if they get sick or need medical treatment. If you don't want the dog, take her to a shelter and give her to them? Here a local Newpaper runs a column where people can call in or wirte in with stuff. One lady wrote in that she couldn't find a vet to honor the "free spay program" voucher she got from the pound when she adopted a dog and couldn't afford to pay for it. SHE got LAMBASTED in the next column by people who thought that if she couldn't afford the animal, she probably shouldn't have one! I don't know what we will do when our 18 y/o or 16 y/o cats get sick,,I hope they go quickly, peacefully and painlessly. We thnk we will not replace them, though we will miss them tremendously! COst my FIL about $600-700 for a "funeral" for his cat with cremation and urn and such to bury him in his back yard. YIKES.
Have a great day.
Good Evening....
It is raining on our'n heads right now...and 55F currently...not bad for a day in March here...
Got some stuff picked up for the house so I can get some of the dang trim work done around the kitchen and bathroom areas...the next stop on the Floor Wars, London ON division, I forgot the part number will be the entrance and front 'powder room'......oh...did I say that my mrr budget has been whacked lately?
Rob: I think Galaxy brought up a good point about the dog..we had to do summat with another pet some years ago when we were going through some hard times and it did take a lot of worry off our minds when we found out the poor fellow was adopted out to a farm family that had space for it...
Todd: My wife also sides with Sue about the difficulty in going after the bath tiles...after a couple of friends told her about their nightmare..we do live in humidland here...
Evening All,
At w**k today and tomorrow. It has been so busy today we finally ate lunch at 4:15 PM. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. Got to go.
Hope you all have a good night.

Rob, take your time and get rested up until you feel better. That IS a tad high for just spaying your dog - sure the vet didn't give Selu a trim, perm and nails polished, too?

Jeff, that sounds about right on the rain, as this morning's radar was showing some rain moving across Kentucky and mid/eastern Tennessee. From our forecast, that likely means you may be having r**n most of the rest of your week (bummer!).
Ulrich, take care of yourself, and do what your doctor suggested for the arrythmia. NOT something to fool around with. We want you around for quite a bit longer, okay?
Barry, I'm guessing that years ago, the Coca-Cola company must've had a LOT of sign painters busy with painting all those signs on the sides of buildings. We have one of those Coca-Cola signs on the side of a very old brick building downtown here.
Curt, I think your w**kday was about as 'fun' as mine. Way longer day than it seemed. Had to go see one guy at county jail mid-morning, and then about midday we had some clients that just took extra bunch of time (getting releases filled out and signed (to request records), co-w**er had what seemed to me like at least a half-hour to an hour long phone call, then not very long before leaving time, had a kid come in (co-w**ker and I flipped a coin to see who'd see the kid - he did). And with all the assorted stuff going on, no lunch break at all. Had two cans of Pibb and a couple of those Snicker's mini-bars to tide me over until I could get home. Not the most nutritious day, either. Hope tomorrow isn't as disorganized.
This evening, I've been going through my iTunes and trying to find 'missing' tracks and eliminate duplicate tracks (out of over 6 or 7 thousand tracks...). Yeah, I'm a music junkie, Ray. (Doesn't count the podcasts and a handful of various videos. Re-organizing the hard drive is SUCH fun!
Tomorrow, I need to get by the post office, as I'm pretty sure I have a smaller MRR order that likely came in today.
Think I'll collapse in the corner booth - don't wake me up just yet if I doze off....
Blessings,

Big chicken dinner tonight and it's pulling my eyelids down. See y'all tomorrow. Laundry day tomorrow.
Greetings from Sebring,
Back at the track this evening. All things considered, the testing went well. We were at Cape Canaveral with a well known pro team and testing on the space shuttle landing strip. Very cool stuff. Ended up not running over 275kph as the car wold porpise and hit the ground above that but we were testing the ECU in the cat to fix a consistant misfire so that was fine. 0 to 275kph in 3000 ft is not too shabby. either. The landing strip iself counting runoff area is 3 miles long. NASA in these diminished budgetary times is lookiing for civilian/gov't coperative projects so this is ideal.
Tomorrow we start practice for the vintage section of the 12 hour weekend.
Rob - I hear you on the vet costs On the other hand we had arthoscopy for Ruperts hind quarters last year even though I can't get my rotater cuffs done. Gotta have priorities and he asks for so little and was hurting so badly. Just gotta have priorities.
Ken - I know it's hard but doing right will keep you sane. Even if they do give you all the dificult clients.
Losinf my connection so I've gotta run. Cheers, J.R.
Evenin' folks!
Janie just a decaf please.
Got all the way up to 65°F here in the Finger Lakes today.... Way too warm for this time of year! We already have pollen alerts on the weather channel for here. Maple trees are already in blossom. I dug all the rest of the parsnips in the garden this morning. Good thing as they are already up and growing again..... Had the largest one tonight for supper. It was about 15" long and close to 3" across at the top...... Made a good mess of parsnips fried up in real butter!!! I brought in a large pail of them, so I will be having them a lot in the next few weeks.
Warm weather will continue for the next several days. May get some liquid sunshine as well. I expect the asparagus will be up soon.
Babysat for my #2 granddaughter early this afternoon.... She has just turned 3 (party isn't until a week from Saturday) and is getting to be quite a young little lady. We had a great time!
Vet costs.... Most of the vets around these parts don't charge anything for euthanasia. Cremation for my Mom's little kittie was all of $85 about 3 years ago. It may be all the fancy stuff they went for THAT cost a fortune...... I think we can still bury a pet on the property here, even in the city. A couple years ago a cat was hit and killed out in front of my house. Neighbors called the police for assistance as the poor thing didn't die right away. They called the animal control officer,. but he didn't arrive for an hour or so. By that time it was gone. Told us just to bury it.
Hope you all have a great night!
Evening Fellow Dinners!
Flo, Beer please.
How many out you folks out there think about work as much as I do? It seems like that is all I think and worry about? I see few of you talk about work a little, but that is all i post about here in the last year or so? I just don't know.
Guess one of the reasons is Larry was being a real Richard Head today. (was that OK Ulrich and Galaxy?)
I all so wonder if it is because I have nothing else to talk about? I am doing nothing as far as the layout but running the trains.
Oh well, time to watch some darn reruns of Ziva.
Cuda Ken
A fried banana please in some coconut ice cream with coconut bits.
Cudaken, I love that burnout going on there! Wow! Cannot even see the car behind all that tire smoke.
About 7-8 months ago I emailed Intermountain asking about acquiring parts for some freight cars I have that need parts to fix them up. Well, having all but forgotten about that I get a box in the mail from Intermountain with the parts inside! I immediately get out an NYC 1937 AAR boxcar model that is missing all but one step, the brake platform and platform supports and take 20-minutes to put them on. The pieces now need some matching paint, I'll experiment with that using Ceramcoat acrylics, but at least the model is complete after many years of being incomplete.

TIPTON IN WEATHER
Mornin'...
It is a wonderful sunrise here in London ON...it rained most of the night and t'underboomed but it is all clear now...oh..high today? 60F...lovin' it...
Need an extra strong dose of rawcaffeine in an IV bag this morning..people down the road from us had a large party that spilled out all over the place last night...yes, even in the rain...so all manner of things were going on there......it was finally shut down by the friendly neighbourhood police officers by 4am.....you see...these people sometimes like to party on a bit...
Today's schedule includes some putting a loom together for Audrey and a few chores around the house...later on today a few friends are going to show up so we can run some choo choo's...
Good Morning......... About 65 here now highs in the upper 70's today.
cough moving out finally, still have the lingering cough but much better, Have spent most of the past 3 days laying around.
