Good Morning,
Todd, never ever make smart comments to a woman within arm’s reach of a sink until they are bolted down to a counter top (the sink that is). I complete understand your story; been there myself.

It's crazy to have millions of people changing the time on their clocks twice each year.
Inch .... Looks like Grandson is ready to throw a touchdown pass. I like that photo.
Ulrich .... Nice pix of the ship and of your layout.
V8 ... I recall hearing a little about that story in the news. Unfortunately, there are some violent people in this world. I can't understand government paying living expenses for anybody especially illegals.
Bill T ... Is that the Wabash Cannonball?
Barry ... I like that old steam train picture.
Sue ... I sued the 1950's signs for the supermarket. It was fun painting the little building.
Terry ... I like your photo of the highway crossing the tracks.
Chad ... glad you could stop by.
Todd ... Are you having fun with all of that re-modeling stuff.
Jeff ... Sundown shops are busy.
Ray .... Sounds like you are the designated cat sitter.
John Boy ....... Glad you can work on the rip track repairs.
Have a good one as Jerry says.

Good Morning!! Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast Buffet please. Thanks. Never had Salmon for breakfast, but on toast it ain’t too bad. A 30 percent chance of showers after 4pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 62. Appears to be the coldest daytime temp of the week. Prediction is in the 70’s all week. Looks like the windows may come open on a couple days!!!!! Yeah!!!! Today, I plan on doing not much of anything. A day of rest. I’ve already started, even though I lost an hour of sleep last night, I took it back this morning.

Lee- Wasn’t the sink I shoulda been thinking about. We were walking through the plumbing isle with all those small yet handy weapons. Of course it makes no difference if Brenda has a weapon available or not. Turns out she IS a weapon.
Wish I’da known that years ago.
Garry- Actually, yes I am enjoying it to a point. Brenda likes it too. She liked picking out the stuff for Mom’s updating too. We’ve been talking about some of the things for a few years now but not real serious. She likes change. Me, I kinda like the steady. I do like what “she’s” done with the place though. That I have to admit. Well, not to her anyway.
She now has her sister (the evil twin) attacking me on this tile shower subject. Main sticking point for me is I’ve never done one and I’m not sure how to go about it. Cement board is a given though and then there is the issue of the plumbing do to the differences in the distance. It will require a small shortening of everything and that is just a PITA. But who knows how that will w**k out. I kinda like the idea, but yet I don’t. I still haven’t brought out the cleaning the grout ace in the hole yet.
Floor Wars Williamsville: Phase….I lost track - Well, we are at a standstill for the kitchen until the countertops get in. They have to measure then build and that could take oh, I think mom’s was a couple weeks. Anyway, I might just have to start another room in the meantime. I may skip the Master Bath and do my office because it’s just a new floor and when the counter tops come in I can stop on that and return to the kitchen for that short time. I know, I know. I said one project done before completing another. But this is different. Don’t wanna start the bathroom and get stopped because we will have to share the same bath. THAT ain’t so good an idea if I get in there first and she ….. Let's just say:
Love is enduring and never ending..., until the bathroom’s occupied.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Morning All,
Raining here this morning. High supposed to be 79 F. I work at 4 PM today so nothing much is planned other than about doing about 30 minutes of ground cover around the future dirt road. I taped off the road last night
Todd- Maybe a option for you is doing the tile in the shower yourself then get a plumber for the piping.
Everyone take care.

Good morning, Chloe. Are you adjusting to the time change? I will have my coffee in a NP mug, please.
Galaxy, I intention is to get right on the taxes every year, but here it is March. I called my tax preparer and made an appointment for the 22nd. If I take it in well organized, it doesn't cost us as much. I suspect that we will have to pay this year, so I am in no hurry.
Rob, The key in the shoe thing reminds me. I was meeting a friend for dinner in town one afternoon. I see her on the corner and stop to pick her up. I through all the stuff in the front seat into the back. When I later look for my cell phone I can't find it. Two trips to town, a call to the restaurant, a call to the theater, backtracking everywhere that we walked did not uncover the phone. I go to the phone store and replace the phone. A week later when I am getting ready for work, I find my phone in my work shoe that I had thrown in the back seat.
Terry, I like your roads.
Ulrich, The last photo is my fav.
Curt, You are so right on that kit. It is not a beginner kit. Thankfully, I have the magnification loops that I use at work.
Chad, Nice to see you stopping by.
Todd, When I did tile, I had a video and a book. Use your computer for a search and find a video. We are thinking of taking the tile out and replacing it with something smooth. It is too much work to keep it clean.
Just a few touch up things and the painting is done. I managed to get all the board siding on my car shop. Now on to placing the 1 x 4 battens. I am finding scale 1 x 4's are hard to manipulate.
Later, Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Good morning. It's 63° and cloudy with patches of rain. The high will be 72° with showers and thunderstorms. Chance of rain is 70% this morning increasing to 80% this afternoon. It was very noisy here early this morning as a band of thunderstorms came through sometime before sunrise. I didn't bother to look at the clock so I don't know what time that was. The storms are moving to the northeast at 25 mph.No layout work planned for today.

One of my brothers thinks making the carnival would be a worthy addition to the (HO layout. We'll see if I can put together some of those kits this summer or if it's to much trouble. My eyes just aren't that great anymore. A carnival would look neat once in place and operational.
Have a good day all.

Ah.... Once again I missed breakfast, so I'll go with a Reuben Sandwich with one of those huge dill pickles and a glass of unsweetened Ice Tea for lunch.
Howdy Folks!
I'm still busy cleaning up odds and ends around the house THAT didn't get done last week. Have a meeting to go to this afternoon about a historical project concerning the Canandaigua Academy Band. The 3 of us who will be meeting all graduated together and played in the band in high school (2 trumpet players and a clarinetist [me]). On is now county historian and he put together a powerpoint presentation of the early history of the band and a town band from Canandaigua for a Rotary meeting. He wants to expand on what he has done and is looking for input from us. I get a nice steak dinner tonight out the bargain, and besides the 3 of us have kept in touch since high school and have remained friends for close to 50 years. We graduated back in 1964. All three of us became teachers. Two of us in public school (Music and History) and the other as a Math teacher at Brockport State College.
Todd and Sue, thanks for the entertainment....... LOL!
Rob, Carnivals are nice (except for some of the Carnies....). have fun!
Catch you all later this evening.

Guten Abend!
The sun is slowly setting on this side of the Big Pond - supper time is ahead of us. It´ll be just sandwiches tonight, we have to go easy on our food spending this month.
I painted the hull ( bottom part) in a glossy red color - those new water-based colors are darn good! They cure in about an hour, so the hull now has 3 layers of red paint on it. It´ll be more sanding tomorrow to smooth it out a little. Once the whole boat is painted, I will give it a spray coat of glossy clear lacquer. Still a long way to go - when I look what I will have to do to install the rigging ...
I also toyed around with my camera, just because Sue likes some of my pictures. Here is today´s harvest:
My friend later came over earlier this afternoon - he brought 3 battery operated LED lights with him, which I fastened to the upper board on the shelf as layout lighting. There are not that bright, so I will need more of them. You have to place one about every foot. At less than 1 $ a piece that´s quite OK.
It´ll be ham and cheese on toast for me now, so CUL!

***Ulrich, superb pics there.
Healing thoughts to those in need.
Afternoon,
Getting ready to leave for w**k. MOH has been quilting all day. I couldn't help myself and completely finished the dirt road section. I will take some photos Thursday after I am on my weekend and everything dries. I think it goes well with the coaling tower.
MCL4- Hope you feel better real soon.
Ulrich- Those photos look real.
Everybody take care and have a good day.
It was such a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh, being in the low 60's and quite sunny. Much too nice a day to sit indoors. So we grabbed the camera and went to one our railfanning sites. We were there for about an hour and a half and caught 6 Norfolk Southern freights. Two intermodals and four mixed freights. I feel really fortunate to live so close to the NS main coming in and out of Conway Yard. It's not always that busy, but early Sunday afternoons seems to be a good time. I read others who post from areas who only see one or two freights a week, and they usually run at night. I guess I'm spoiled with all the railroad activity around Western PA.
Getting ready for a nice dinner of Delmonico Roast, baked potatoes, whole kernel corn, and a nice bottle of Reisling from Seneca Lake. Then butterscotch pudding for desert. That's all going to kick the blood sugar up a bit, but it will be worth it.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. If your not retired and have to go to work on Monday morning, please don't slam the door on the way out of the house as some of us are planning to sleep in.

See y´all tomorrow!
OK, who's idea was it to not only add an extra work day into the schedule last month and now subtracts an hour out of my weekend!!! Just back inside from Spring Cleanup work with a 3-day forecast of 70+ days coming. Hope all my MR friends have had a great (even though shorten) weekend!

Hi all
did the laundry, dishes and some spring cleaning.
Opened up the window and door for fresh air to come rolling in on a day in the 60*s and getting warmenr the next few days gotta love it!
Now, Nuts, I have to also get the A/C ready to run! Not because the days are that hot, but because the trailer heats up that much on warmer days. ANd now with my oxygen generator creating extra heat in the BR, we wil have to soon get the window A/C back in there as soon MOH will start complaining about the heat at night too.
The Pussywillow is in full bloom..hopefully the censor won't block that word out. Other trees are starting to bud early. This could be damaging to other crops this summer though wihtout the hard freeze of winter to help.
Well, dinner will be salmon over rice and asparagus tips that we were supposed to have last night.
The extra daylight hour will be great, have t o adjust the timer on the hall lights so they don;t come on so early now.

Good Afternoon,
A beautiful day here, about 50F and with the sun the snow is melting fast.
Barry, I will be in London Tuesday and Wednesday. Perhaps we could get together for a coffee on Tueday evening or Wednesday evening. Send me a PM.

Anyone need some rain? Come and get it! I got plenty! It's pouring down here. My satellite dish has blacked out four times in the last ten minutes. Good thing I didn't have anything important to do outside.
Good Evening, Flo. I'll have a bowl of the beef stew and a RBF, please. Thank you!
Inch, nice pic of that IC Alco there, too. On your viaduct, if that was a NYC one, I'm not very surprised that it's still standing now. Sharp-looking grandson there that you have.
Todd, how's the cleaning up for Ziva coming along? And have you told Brenda yet? Hope your return trip on the sink went well... (You're right though, that would be quite nice of Ziva to drop by your place) I'm trying to figure out from your account of the 'Brenda' trip whether it really IS an advantage to have both Menard's and Lowe's across from each other - well, I guess since you got (you did get it, right?) the stainless sink after all that, it w**ked out okay. (Except for the Chinese waitress deal...)
Well (getting a little fill-in this afternoon from the sky), I may not qualify for Lee's RSA group - when I went and checked my inventory, I was a fair bit under 200 total (even if I did order some MRR stuff lately that had 3 or 4 covered hoppers in the order). So maybe at some time this year I may be able to join up.
Lee, you do have a good variety of RR roads in your collection there. I'm still deciding whether I can justify how few of the big Eastern RR's that I have (3 or fewer each of New Haven, NYC, C&O, Rock Island, MoPac). I do have a CP boxcar, though... But then again, I could rationalize it by my CAW being a small bridge line between two Western RR's, so we don't get much coming out way from 'back East' (as my grandmother used to call it).
Garry, please keep those photos of your downtown area coming - I am loving them! Nice job (and thanks for the tip) on that little 'supermarket', too)!
Galaxy, I'm sure that you and your OH are about grinnin' ear-to-ear, with getting THAT furnace paid off without any interest! Every 'little' bit helps, eh?
Rob, glad to hear the family get-together was a fun time for everybody (maybe, except for your sister missing her first plane back). Verde Grande RR? Alrightee! I bet that's an Arizona (or at least Southwestern) RR, right?
Ulrich, that (Bluenose?) ship of yours is looking great (and way to go with scoring the bargain on the paint, too)! Bet it will look even better when you have it painted and done.
Jeff, is that the same baggage car you had posted (with less rust) quite a while back in here? Man, that is REALLY weathered!
Ken, glad you were able to catch a breather from w**k for even one day. But hope you made some commisssion from your extra day in.
Barry, good that you have a wife who knows what to look for (for you) at the neighborhood sales. Hey, now you went and posted that 'rustic' Echo Lake building, and I have a hankering to built that... Of course, the stone for the chimney and all will be a bit interesting (unless I try to carve it out from POP, and even that will be new territory for me...)
Johnboy - on those chains for your flatcar load, are the ones A-Line makes too big? I have bought some of those (but haven't got them out to try with some of my flatcar loads yet).
OzJim, will your pier between those two Atlas bridges be thinner than the wood you have in there right now? If you can figure how to trim it a little thinner, that might help you place the bridges the way you want. (Just my of an idea...)
VegaV8, I'm not sure that I would ever say that our government (lately) makes sense. 'Nuff said...
Well, I'd best be heading for home now. Will try to catch up on the rest of the (currently) 2 or 3 pages of posts tomorrow, hopefully. Prayers for those still adjusting their sleep to the 'new' time (but as was said by Ken, it'll be good to have a bit more daylight after I get off w**k tomorrow), and for the rest of us in need (for various parts of our lives).
Blessings,
Jim in Cape G.
Good Evening
It has been something of a productive day...I got home in the early afternoon and did discover that Audrey had a small HD list for me..mostly outdoor backyard cleanup..I did not mind as I was out in the sun and enjoyed every minute of it.......the scenery looked very good....
Oh..and I got to run my trains again tonight...and no accidents, derailments, head on collisions, gone to ground thingees occurred .....
CN. PM sent....
Todd: Audrey knows of only the Home Desperate down this way...she does not know about Copps Buildall, Lowes, Woollatt, or Cashway Lumber stores...otherwise I would be hiking on a weird and bizarre quest for one lousy sink.....
Evenin' folks!
Just a decaf for me Janie. I'll go sit by the stove and warm up a bit.
Was a nice pre-spring day here in the Finger Lakes Region. Temp got all the way up to 64°F today. Sunny and mild. Going back down to 38°F tonight. Too lazy to go light the wood stove.
Didn't even visit the layout rooms today..... Had a good time at the 3 stooges get together.... Talked about some history of the Canandaigua band program. Learned a couple things I didn't know from the other two and also provided a couple of things they didn't know as my dad was on the School board in the early 60's. The original band uniforms (WWI style) were purchased by the local Rotary Club as a gift to the school in 1936. Rotary had started the band actually around 1930 and it was taken over by the schools in 1936. The Rotary club actually paid the salary of the first Band teacher in the district (half time teacher) for the first few years of the program. Those same uniforms were still in use (I wore one) for marching in 1964, the year we graduated from Canandaigua Academy. They were finally replaced in 1965..... They were used for a long time! We hated them as all the other schools had new ones and we thought ours were just plain dorky!
We enjoyed a great steak dinner (first cookout of the year) from out host, and continued to chat for a couple more hours.
Barry, glad your operations went well! If nothing bad happened, you must have been running solo......
Hope all of you have a great night, and prayers for in need!
Evening Dinners!
"Groaning Sound as I sit down" Flo, Beer please.
Good Thing We Closed At 6:00 PM! Did not get out till 8:24! Slow in the morning but got busy after 3:00 PM and stayed that way! Again I got the Nut jobs that wanted 4 tires for $400.00, but the cheapest tires in there sizes was $125.00 plus installation and taxes. Or the Lady that had tires installed by Auto Tire 2 years ago and wants to sue them because they did not make her get a alignment, she never rotated the tires, has a bad tie rod end and wants 4 tires that are $185.00 each for $265.00 for all 4 installed? I all so took care of 2 of Keith's customer and gave him the sale. Mean while Dave and Larry where taking in tickets they got paid for. Well, the prices of being a Good Guy I guess?
By the way, that is my Charger when it was used in a TV ad for Gateway Raceway Complex a few years ago. The 01 was a static decal.
Dang I am beat.
It's a late sign-off for me. One of the storms passing through earlier knocked out the cable service to this area so everyone out here who has cable internet was off line until about a half hour ago. That was around 5:45 pm. Anybody needing rain water for anything, get your tank car down here. Rain is forecast for the next couple of days and after a short break it looks like we're in for a week of rain from the 17th to the 23rd. The lake is already overfull and water is roaring over the spillway. I can hear it from here and the spillway is almost half a mile away.See y'all tomorrow.
Afternoon folks. Monday night here.
JIMCG: I agree The pier there is more or less temporary. I plan on getting a smaller strip of timber or taking about a third of the current one off.
I ended up starting with the hydrocal last night, but ran short, so I'm going to try pick some more up this week. I got 95% of the river banks covered but there is a few patches I need to re do.
I'll check back again later.
Cheers.
