Speaking of what passes for layout progress in my parts o' the world, before I swung by this evening, I trimmed some of the caspia stems back so they would fit in a box lid I had. Less mess than the huge cardboard sheet they were on when I spray-painted them (and since then, until tonight). Hope to see about adding more branches to the pine tree I posted pics of in here. Maybe I'll even get another pine tree going tomorrow after church. Y'never know for sure... Oh, and on the conifer foliage I said I was gonna look for some finer version of? After some looking in past and this year's W-S product catalog, I have found that they don't make anything size-wise, other than coarse. So I may try to crumble/trim some of the foliage to a smaller size before I start adding the foliage to the caspia 'branches'.

Work Front Today was the best day I have had so far! While I am far from knowing everything I am no longer a complete idiot. Dave (Mgr) and Shawn are starting lighten up around me and are starting to kid me. So I am kidding back with them.
Starting to be more relaxed around the customers, and me personally is showing through and sales are getting better now that I am more confident.
Had a older lady come in today, guess she was around 45 to 55 age range. She told me her tires where not that old and she thinks her car is out of alignment. I asked her why she thought that? She said that over 80 MPH the car starts to shake, why do I think the car is shaking? I told her THE CAR IS SCARED! Everyone at the counter busted up! She even thought it was funny!
Well, I am in good sprites, but the 10 hour day did take it toll and I am starting to fad. See you all Sunday.

I got a letter in today's mail from my doctor. 'twas the results of last Monday's blood work..... Said: "Your electrolites were within normal limits. Your kidney function - normal, blood sugar - normal, liver function - normal, blood count - normal, PSA - normal (0.47), Total cholesterol 145, HDL was 45, LDL was 75, triglyceride - 122, A1C was 5.6......
Wonder whose blood they used? Probably will get run over by someone on my way to the doctor's appt. Monday! I also got my new Medicare card (switching to my own SS this month) in today's mail. I will have to find out about my other insurance cards that had my wife's SS # listed as the card link Monday before I hand them all in to the Medical people.......???

Hey all. Just stopping in before I go extract my girls from the tub. I have been a lazy Eddie....I haven't done a thing with ANY of my MRR stuff in the past week or more. Think that I'm going to rectify that tomorrow as I have to w**k all day (10+ hours), so there will obviously be some spare time for me to put the axles in my Dash 8 and whatever else i can come up with.
I've been working on a "wish list" of stuff from MB Klein. Think I might even make one for Walthers and like too, that way I can get most of what I want. Going to print them out and distribute to all those that wish to procure things for me for Christmas. Hopefully I'll come away with a sizable MRR haul for the holidays.
Well, its been an hour since I started this post, the girls are bathed and in bed, guess I might want to get on the ball myself with my wish lists and see what all i can come up with.
I think I'll have a large hot fudge and caramel sundae please, and I'll hang out here in the window booth and watch the night sights.

Well, today was something else. Took a friend riding, only to stop about noon because I looked at his quad's front wheel while he tilted it to the side, may be me, but if I can move a wheel out and back an eighth of an inch, that worries me. Ken, whatta think?
Of course the kid bought this quad for $650, makes me wonder what's wrong with it. Well..
All the bearings are bad,
chain kept hopping off the sprocket today, turns out the back bearings are shot and make the back axle track off true
plastics are shot,
no back grab bar or taillight (previous owner broke it off)
and of course, my favorite, the frame's starting to rot out. It's not bad YET, but Ken, Jeff, and all you car guys can attest to the fact that once rust sets in, you got problems.
Need to redeck my trailer. while loading quads today, punched a hole through a patch on the deck and almost punched another on when unloading. talk about scary.

Here we are guys and dolls, In the handy state of Texas, and I can only find that many, at least steam, tourist railroads are nto running this week or weekend! They are running NEXT weekend, but maybe we will have moved on. Texas is big so maybe not. Lots to see. WE Might even drop in on Jeffrey Wimberly, If he'll have us in the next week, so he can show us Ezra's house/gas station himself! only three in the trailer at a time!!
Of course, I am trying hard to find some STEAM excursions, but Polar Express Runs start everywhere NEXT weeekned OR AFTER Thanks Giving!

Another clear but cold day here in northern Germany. Today´s temperatures will just scratch on the freezing mark, signs of a long and cold winter being ahead of us.
Galaxy - so it´s Texas now. Texas is just about the size of Germany, if not even a little bigger. Can you figure 82 million people living there? It is way too crowded in my country.

Went through my December MR copy yesterday and could not get my eyes of Mike Dannemann´s N scale Rio Grande layout. I have never seen a snow scene looking so realistic before. I wish I had his space and funds to do something like it.

Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a south southwest wind between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. When it’s nice out it’s always windier than all git out.
Well it’s 0400 as I start this. Went to bed at 2230ish and have been up since 0104. Starting to get a bit tired again, maybe a nap is in order.
I’m getting real itchy to get in the old train room, aka “Toddland” (where I’m king) for you newer guys not familiar. Still have some outside stuff needs done before winter sets in.
Though I love it, looks like I won’t be frying a turkey this year for Thanksgiving (can’t believe THAT’s only a week and a half away) which I’m glad. Kinda sorta. This'll be the first time in what, fifteen years without frying a turkey? Only a ham. Frying would mean I’d have to get Brenda’s car running so’s I can pull it out to fry (turkey, not the car). Otherwise it’d have to be done outside and me and outside don’t get along well if it’s cold out. Who knows. She was running around all over the reception last night inviting people we didn’t know but claimed were family to get in the reception, to dinner so it may change. My wife? Change plans? Naaaaaah. Never! I think she’s gonna post it on Facebook .
Been told we have til December 3rd or something to clean up the house. (nodding head) yup. That oughta be interesting considering the big no place else for Mom leftovers and such. Why? Well, seems as though she has booked a Pampered Chef party. You know the door to…...wait. I remember making my standard description, as I do about just about everything sold at these party things, about some jewelry and touching home base with Inch’s wife (Mother to you new folks). Stuck my foot in my mouth there, so I’ll just say it’s kitchen stuff that though not cheap, like the jewelry is nice stuff. In case anyone is affiliated with the sale of Pampered Chef. I personally just don’t see the “worth the price” side. But then again I'm a, "one cast iron skillet, if it's big enough, from the farm store is all you need" kinda guy. But many do and for that….we havin a shindig... without the.... shins.. I suppose. Or is it the digs. Oh well, they cook as a demonstration. Better than the candle parties, they just smell up the house.
Today is moving day. Must move out of the old truck and into the new. Gonna hate to see the old gal go. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to see it cause a guy at the elevator wants it. We’ll see how it goes when it’s time to pony up the cash. Anybody who’s heard “How much you want? When you wanna sell that thing let me know. I’ll take it!” Prior to it being for sale knows what I mean. Sadly the trans is howlin goin backerds and is startin to shift a bit strange so I’m afeard some tranny work is in order. Course it’s been doin that for two years with no ill effects on driving or anything, so…...maybe it’ll be fine. He knows all about it.
Welp, can’t say best get a movin at 0430ish, so I’ll just say….can’t think of much else to say right now. Maybe I’ll try to get in a nap before I have to get up. ( sounds like Uncle Joe on Pettycoat Junction )

I have met gals much younger that that, maybe not looking like a grandmother, but certainly acting that way. I find it interesting how many younger folks act and behave "old". My son always complains that I may look old, but I am still as crazy as he is (well, sometimes).

WE also rarely listen to the raido if we are together so we CAN HEAR what the OTHER IS SAYING WITHOUT SHOUTING. But if Alone, often we may have it on low volume. If you told me when i was 22 I would not listen to it without it "cranked up", I would have picked a fist fight with you!!!

Ken- You ain't seen Brenda drive (can't tell you how old she is because, well you know, but she is within that range). Acts like evry drive is a race. On the highway, the speed limit is for those who can't drive well and for those who can, there seems to be this built in, unremovable idea that the Troopers won't pull you over if it's under a certain amount over and something about so much over that is more than likely a warning. In town you feel like you're in a NASCAR race. Can't stand to be behind anyone it seems. And when she is in a hurry....white knuckle time. Then there's her twin sister.....looks like a blonde Barney Oldfield all hunched up over the steering wheel with that right foot to the floor. Makes Brenda look tame. Me....let's say I usually allow plenty of time to get to my destination. No need to hurry and the speed limit is just that. A limit. Not as some feel, a requirement. They call me "Pokey Joe".

Good morning. It's 65° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 78° and it will be partly cloudy later today. The wind is from the SSE at 8 mph.Nothing much planned for today. I may get a start on ballasting the new turnout and adjoining straight track sometime during the day. I have to dig the jar of ballast out of the closet first and that can sometimes be like an archaeological expedition. The deeper I dig the more 'lost' things I find. One day I even found my army discharge papers and my high school diploma.Two Atlas 70's era GP40's with Bachmann GP40 shells.

The fastest I drove was 91 mph between Richardton and Bismarck (75 miles). If there were any cops on our route (there were not--State Patrol is NOT a 24/7 operation) they would have just pulled over to the side and let us by, just like the law requires.
