Baa -

I am a bit in a sour mood and don´t even know exactly why. Is it because the module is not (yet) what I expected it to be? Naw, I don´t think so! It only needs a few changes and they will happen soon.

Flo, I´ll go for a RBF and something sweet, maybe that´ll make me happy again.

I guess I am showing sign of mental wear and tear. The last months have not really been a walk in the park  - I may need a break, but there is no one in sight!

Todd - I may have missed that, but I hope your MIL is improving. Healing Angel are being sent her way.

Well, heading back to my cave, curling up and waiting for something to happen!

Mornin' Bill!  Mornin' peoples!

Zoe, I'll have a couple eggs scrambled, side of bacon, and a couple of slices of the sour dough toast this morning to go along with the worlds best dark roast coffee served in a R&GV RR mug.  Thank You!

Seamonster

On a similar subject, I've tried to quote a post in my reply and delete parts of that quote which don't pertain to my reply but I can't do that.  I highlight the part I want to delete but when I hit the "delete" button, my entire reply deletes and vanishes.  What am I doing wrong?

Bob, I have had that happen a couple of times only to find out I tried to delete parts of the actual post I was quoting rather than the copy of it in the reply I was typing.....  THAT may or may not be what is happening to you.  Notice I was able to remove your first paragraph with no problem here.

Cool, dark, and gray morning here in the Finger Lakes today.  The weather prognosticators promised some liquid sunshine this morning as of last night, but I see Barry got it all.  Looking at the map this morning, I see that geneva will be right where the clouds part and stop raining all day.  There is a 30% chance of a thunderboomer later this afternoon.  We usually get 3.12 inches of rain in July.  To date we have had .39"  Crops are starting to look a bit stressed.  Over night the chances of some rain go up to 80% so hopefully we may get some of it.

I will be doing more cleaning, sorting, and throwing out of stuff left over from the business.  Got to make a list of some items I might be able to sell, but much of it will soon be residing in the Ontario County Landfill.  (All electronics and other recyclables will get recycled....Wink)  Should be able to make some time to w*rk on the roof of the Engine House as well.

Later!

JIM!!!! You out there?????

Ken-Yes, In Illinoyz there is a law buried in the books about the BBQ. Of course it also is illegal to ride a cow down Main street naked in Williamsville. Why just Main, I have no idea. Probably cause of the restaurant. It’s because you are a habitual drinker. Certain activities trigger your desire for whatever you are used to doing at that time. Like knodding off whenever the wife wants "to talk".

Bob- I always, unless I’m quoting someone, click the “quick reply” link at the bottom of the previous post. Why? Well I just think it’s funny for me to be clicking “quick” reply… Laugh

Sometimes when I do a post, especially when quoting in the middle, I have trouble with the thing reformatting the post and putting the top part at the bottom. When I go back to edit and put it back at the top it copies again and puts it at the bottom sometimes twice, sometimes the part I never touched. It often takes me several tries to get it to take and that usually involves me just giving up and quoting at the top.

I often wonder if it’s because of my past occupation that causes me to be up when awakened. As part of my job I also drove a tow truck. Or recovery vehicle as it is referred toConfused. Get a call in the middle of the night, you’re up and moving. Same as when I got a call on the Army side. THAT usually kept me away longer though.Whistling

Jeff- Just curious. In the computer repair section where I used to w**k for old Uncle Sammy, if a hard drive crashed mechanically, they removed the disk and installed it in another working drive. Is that an option? Of course I realize the shop had access to compatable drives that the average Joe (or in this case Jeff) probably doesn’t have. But hey, who knows what’s still lurking in that closet of yours.

MIL is doing better today. The fever is gone and the fluids have decreased to a slightly high but acceptable level. They still want them down lower, but the Ducks are much happier.

NEWS FLASH!!!!! Just got word the Casey’s has been boken into over night. The cops are there now taking pictures. Only in Williamsville can someone break in the back door of a business such as Casey’s overnight and no one notice til 1:30 in the afternoonLaugh. Guess they’re just not used to looking.

Gotta go and get the scoop, then to Moms to empty the dehumidifier and then…..well I need to get ready for this evenings event. Then Brenda wants to go to the horse piddle and sit some more so it will be a late night for me and Missy. She (Missy) doesn’t know it yet but I’ll have to break it to her soon so she can schedule her bathroom breaks. Odd how a dog can do that. Somewhere in there I might crack a top in Ken’s honor and pick up a bit in Toddland (of which I’m king)

I don't have a repair shop so I don't keep stuff like that around. I have a couple of cases, some old power supplies and a couple of old CD drives and an ancient LexMark Z33 inkjet printer with an LPT interface. There's also a couple of old main boards that still work. One is fairly modern, the other one has a 100 mhz processor and was made when Fred Flintstone was working for the Slate Gravel Company. I think the last thing it ran was Windows 95 Ver B.

Plenty of storms and rain so far. We've gotten four inches so far today.

Oh man. I'm hurting bad today. My legs hurt, my back hurts, my neck hurts, my arms hurt, my eyes hurt. I have trouble reading even large print without my eyes aching. If I keep looking at it I start getting dizzy.

Beer, Glories Beer, I was given some money so I could buy some!

Beer , Glories Beer, now I can drink some!

Beer, Glories Beer, now I can BBQ some!

Good Afternoon Fellow Beer drinkers! Big Smile

Sure have made good use with my min windfall, besides the beer. Up till getting that check, I had maybe $20.00 for food this week. While Sue and I could not buy a lot, did spend $60.00 and got a few good deals at our LGS. Got 10 pounds of chicken thighs with drum sticks for $6.00 so that is what I will be BBQ tonight.

Spent $50.00 for gas today, if I can keep Sue out of the car that will last 2 weeks. I swear that woman cannot drive right. I drive the car I get 22-25 MPG, she drives the car, 14-16 MPG. Bang Head I know other than me is suffering from Gas Pain, but I spent $50.00 on gas and it still did not fill the car up and it was not empty.

Electrical Term Question. What is the devices called that has a adjustable control for controlling current flow?

Bank Of Stupid Question. I have wonder this before but there is something that looks odd on there statement concerning my escrow account. It shows the following.

Escrow Items           Amount needed         Frequency in months  Monthly amount needed

 Insurances               $1380.00                      12                                   $115.00

 County Taxes           $1454.18                      12                                   $121.18

 County Taxes           $1454.18                      12                                   $121.18

Total monthly base payment amount                                                                             $357.36

Could the Idiots be billing me 2 times for County Taxes?

When I bought the house, it was in Collinsville IL then I guess 2 to 4 years later Maryville IL built a new post offices and my address was changed to Maryville IL. Now this was a good 16 to 18 years ago. Neither my first mortgage or Countywide could get this straight. In fact, when Bank Of Stupid got the mortgage they where all so sending there paper work to the wrong zip code and some of it was returned! Could they be that Stupid, OK they can be!

Guess I better make a few calls Friday.

Well grill is lite. See you all a little later!

Sorry to Butt in, but I've always enjoyed reading Elliots Trackside diner and thought maybe I could clear up your real estate tax question.

Several homes listed on the market in Maryville, Illinois pay the following in real estate taxes.

$160,000             $3,437/year

$115,000             $2,010/year

I think "Bank of Stupid" mislabeled your real estate tax form, but the amount is correct. Normally you are billed real estate taxes twice per year, so the $1,454.18 you see twice is actually every 6 months. So they should have listed the frequency every 6 months, not 12 and then listed it only once.

Hector Welcome to the dinner! I will buy you a Beer as well.

Crying I did pull out the tax papers and you are right, it is $2,900.00 a year so Bank Of Stupid is right. While I really don't think the house is worth any where near $150,000 plus range it did not help they built $300,000 + house across the street in what was a cornfield when I bought the house.

Might be time to list the house for $100,000. If I can get that I am out of here!

Ahem, Ken.

I say this as a friend-

While it seems to me you are enjoying your beer a little too much tonight, but since you have burdened my eyes with your tales of woe over lack of money this month long, I shall burden your eyes and I should like to point out:

a} you can use the windfall check to clear up your electric bill to avoid being shut off.

b} you can use your windfall check to pay your water bill to avoid being shut off

c} you can use your windfall check money to fix your car more so you can get to work to earn your "meager" paycheck

d} you can use your windfall check to pay some of your increased payment to "Bank of Stupid" as you so fondly like to call it

E} you can use your windfall check to buy actual needed food for nourishment.

F} you can use your windfall check to boost your savings account back up to a higher level so you can quit complaining to us about its dwindling balance daily {some of us don't even have savings accounts}

g} you can use your windfall check FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN BEER Beer SO YOU CAN QUIT COMPLAINING TO US AS IF WE LISTEN.

BEER is NOT a necessity.

A ROOF over your head, LIGHTS to see by, WATER to wash with, a CAR to get to work, and FOOD to NOURISH you ARE NECESSITIES.

SO, I say this gently and kindly as a friend, shut up about your money problems-and quit crying IN your beer-and use your money to pay for anything BUT beer and your financial situation may improve.

We ALL have our money issues, Ken, but we rarely complain EVERYDAY here like you do. Others have told you also to quit whining.

Just because he is gainfully employed and most on this forum are not is no reason to bash him.

I for one enjoy reading Ken's posts on this forum. As a matter of fact I find the rest of you quite bland and boring. I skip your posts regularly just to read Ken's.

Ken, please keep posting. (complaints and all) I for one enjoy them!

Hey.

Ken-beer isn't the answer to every problem. (but can be traced as a source to many)

Coffee- I am actually an oddity for a teenager. I like black coffee, fresh ground, fresh out of the maker, Not on ice but not hot enough where when I drink it all you hear in my house is WOOOO HOT HOT HOT.

Now, I've heard about the Government shut down, but there is a way everyone could solve it, shut off the A/C to the capitol building and lock the lawmakers inside. In this heat it be easy for them to agree on something.

What Flo? no I'm not being political, honest I'm not. FLO! FLO! FLO!!! Flo, Flo, I really don't want to do this again, but if I have too...

*Shhhhh*

There, that's much better now isn't it? No one gets hurt, mainly me.

*Shhh-click*

Wow! A bit harsh don't you think?

Just because he is gainfully employed and most on this forum are not is no reason to bash him.

I for one enjoy reading Ken's posts on this forum. As a matter of fact I find the rest of you quite bland and boring. I skip your posts regularly just to read Ken's.

Ken, please keep posting. (complaints and all) I for one enjoy them!

Hector.....

Let me get this straight. You lecture galaxy for bashing Ken and then you declare that everyone but Ken is "bland and boring" and that you skip all posts but those by Ken. Don't you see some hypocrisy here?

Evening All,

MOH is watching some Harry Potter movie as I sit here typing. Finally got a full nights sleep and I actually felt pretty darn good when I woke up today. Today on the layout I put up the back drop but I'm not sure I am going to keep it, I may go with mountains. I will give it some time and then make a decision. I also put down Blair Line Wood Grade Crossings and darkened them and put up a hairpin fence between the 2 mains in front of the passenger station.

After that I staged rolling stock and locomotives in the appropriate areas of the layout and ran a coal drag with a I1sa loco for about a hour. I still have to make and install signals and ballast. It's hard to believe the initial construction is almost complete.

One thing I have always appreciated about the Diner is that everyone is civil to everyone else. I'm sure Ken did not go out and blow his windfall and that he was just being exuberant like I would be if I got money I was not expecting.

Jeff- Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Hector- Welcome. What RR do you model?

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Looking good Curt. What kind of signals are you installing? My layout's going to have to wait for details like that until I have a place of my own. That Pennsy locomotive does look good.

I'd better follow the smart souls clearing out of here.

When in doubt. grab a hammer.

If it moves and isn't supposed to, get a hammer

If it doesn't move and is supposed to, get a hammer

If it's broken, get a hammer

If it can't be fixed with a hammer... DUCK TAPE!

You lecture me for stating an honest open opinion?

I think the moderators should have banned you for posting those filthy racy pictures.
