Good morning.
Finally got my books yesterday, and found out I need one more!! By the time I get what I need I will own a library, and that's just for one semester.
I know the mega millions is worth $330 million so I might buy a couple of tickets, will I win...I hope!! Are the chances good?.........HA!!!!
Not much planned today. I've worked on the layout some but not much. I think having to go back to school has me not wanting to do anything. Maybe I can still work on it ever now and then. A small railroad is below the school, and I got a chance to get some pictures yesterday. I was getting some hopper shots, when the train came by. Its a small name RR, but at least I got a chance to get it.
Ken....... I hope you get to feeling better.
Vincent....Sawyer........The NFL posted next years schedule. You might wanna see what the Packers have going. They have the Steelers going all over the place. To Texas, San Fran, Kansas City. They haven't had to go that far in awhile. Of course they did have the Patriots coming thou!!!
The engine shot. And yes the walking track is that close!!!!!! Nothing like walking and having a hopper sway back and forth!!
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Robby: What school is that near? We have a few tracks fairly close to student housing up here but nothing that close...

We got a dull morning with a about an inch of snow on the ground now--getting another 2" by tonight though...which will replenish the 10" on our backyard...
I'm doing the visit friend in hospital thing today, guy ended up breaking his hip..then they find bone cancer...now he has fought off a superbug...sheeesh...
Flo, i'll have a coffee and a breakfast bagel please...I'll be at te RC for a bit...

This section of the Great Allegheny Passage is open and free to the public.
A lot of people bike the path, and some points ride a horse. I've always wanted to ride a bike on the trail. Start in Connellsville (big CSXT yard), and stop at where I got the shot from. Talk about a work out!! Then you still have 100 miles to go if you want!!! No way, not me .
Guys- Thanks for all the condolences and prayers. I've given them many times and often wondered just how much just a few words said by someone you've never met and only know through typed words in a forum could really mean to them. I can now say without a doubt, a lot. And I do mean a lot. You are indeed some of the best buch of folks out there and I feel honored to be accepted into the Diner.
Thank you very very much from the bottom of my heart.
Getting a bit misty eyed and have to get to the funeral home for arrangements.
Thanks again for you support through this difficult time.

Aaaahhhhh...OK...then. that sounds like a fun little trail...almost like the Hamilton to Brantford Railtrail that runs along the former Toronto, Buffalo and Hamilton Railroad ROW between Hamilton and Brantford....mmmm....now I'm thinking about something along a bike ride as well.... That one is 'only' 20 miles long...although it does go up the escarpment..
Good Afternoon Folks,
well, it´s been a dull day so far. Temperatures around freezing, which makes driving the car a gamble. No sign of improvement, yet.
Janie - a mug of hot chocolate, please, spiced up with a little something you know what - the sun has already set at this side of the Big Pond.
I cannot get my mind of trying to figure out, how I can restart my MRRing activities, with no space and literally no money. Checked for model railroad clubs in the neighborhood, but the nearest one is 35 miles away and has annual club dues of about $ 150 - too much for me. If I had that amount of free cash I could do a lot on my own layout.
Todd - we lit up a candle for your mom and for you in our church.
The church was erected in 1878, succeeding a wooden church dating from the late 800´s. Its altar dates back to 1480 - long before the Mayflower sailed to Plymouth Rock.
It is not a spectacular church, but it gives a feeling of eternity.
Odd Ulrich, cannot copy and paste your JPG files. Say that there IP has been blocked due to abuse from our server?

Good Morning All!Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this sunny Tuesday other then I made my monthly stop at the local donut shop for 2 jelly fills and I told the lady behind the counter I was playing "PO-lease" today and needed some coffee and donuts and I heard a chuckle behind me and when I turned there stood a Ohio State Trooper that look like a professional weight lifter. Glad that trooper had a sense of humor. No big plans for today other then rethinking Slate Creek benchwork-conventional or something new?I shall have a cup and look over da forum.Have a good'un!

At the high for the day here, 34°F and gray skies. may have some little white thingies falling on occasion later. Partly Cloudy tonight with an accumulation of 1" to 2" of "Partly Cloudy".
Brakie, I used to "harass" a young law enforcement officer here in Geneva who is the Youth Officer and does the DARE program at the elementary schools. Every time he would walk by I would sniff the air and say, "Donuts, I smell donuts..." He got back at me a few times... One was when I was on my way to do a sound gig over in Seneca Falls. Got stopped in a sting operation. He sees who it is and waves the other officer off and comes over. I got the 3rd degree on everything. Checked my license, registration, insurance card, and then wanted to know where I was going and for what purpose. Wanted to know what was in the trailer, and why I was pulling it. Then wanted to know the relationship between me and the high School kid in the truck who was working for me was....... He knew both of us.... Did all this with a huge grin on his face, and finally said, "Get outta here!" (Grin grin)
Ulrich, beautiful Church!
There were a lot of others I was going to comment to, but I can't remember what it was..... Started this post and got interrupted twice... So, I best get doing some things that were supposed to be done last week!

Robby P.- College BOOKS always were/are big, often heavy, expensive and required for college courses. Then you throw them away at hte end of the semester unless you get in quick enough to sell them back to the bookstore, or are keeping them for future reference.
Todd_ great you found it of comfort.
Well surgery for the other tumor in the left side of my back is scheduled for the 17th, WIll need thoughts and prayers for myself then!

Pretty much a dull who cares day here at the Cuda Ken house hold. Did finally get my one and only check from Ashely today, only 5 days late.
Got Microsoft Train Simulator loaded on the new computer. My original second disc got scratched to heck and could not get it to loaded. I bet I spent 2 hours trying to get the scuffs off. Then I had the bright idea to use my thumb drive and take it off my laptop. Worked like a charm. All so found the site for free upgrades and will try loading them Wednesday.
Wish me luck, I bought a ILL Lotto ticket and payoff is $355,000,000.00.
Think I will load Test Drive 6 now.

Todd: Sorry to hear about your mother. Sorry I didn't post it earlier. I've been wrapped up in my own problems here.
Evening all.
Another looooonnnnngggggg day at school. I don't think I actually fell asleep in double english, but I don't remember a thing she said...
Robby, I know of a road that is exactly like that shot you posted:
This road was build alongside the tracks, partially ON the ROW, WITHOUT permission from the railroad. Then, when the railroad got federal stimulus dollars to rehab the branch, the township was unhappy because it would mean increased train service that would be a danger to kids in the park! But they were the ones that built the road illegally!
Ken, still nothing on the job? Hope you get a yes tomorrow.
Well, I had planned on doing some of my Spanish project tonight. Then I realized I left the book in school. D'OH! So I guess I have a free night!
But I don't know how much longer I'm gonna last. I need to get to bed early tonight... Still not caught up from break.Night!

Gotta love politicians. I, for the life of me can't figure out why someone with government power would break laws and do something like that.

That's my English 3 class for me. Almost did that a few times during Edgar Allan Poe, but didn't. Thought of having my contacts wreck my eyes kept me awake. Barely but still
Galaxy, best of luck, hope everything works out for you.

Evening folks!
Flo just a cup of decaf for me at the moment.
I have spent almost all day doing stuff at the computer. Printing up stuff for the Deacons Meeting tomorrow, printing up stuff for the mailing THAT should have gone out to my NMRA Members a week ago, printing up stuff for the MLK Committee, doing banking for the MLK Committee, Printing envelopes, moving the cats off the keyboard and correcting the strange typing stuff they do, and dealing with about 100 emails (no spam either...) just stuff!
I guess it's THAT time of year.........
I'm going to head back to the stove in the back and keep warm and enjoy the new coating of white stuff THAT is now covering everything outside my door. Just enough to work the magic.
teen steam fan That's my English 3 class for me. Almost did that a few times during Edgar Allan Poe, but didn't. Thought of having my contacts wreck my eyes kept me awake. Barely but still
I love my English 3H class. Our teacher is a nun (just saying). She goes off on tangents every three seconds (and we don't even need to help!), and we never learn. We've been on Lord of the Flies for two and a half months now, and it's not even a long book at all.
That class is so easy. You don't need to pay attention, and you still get a 95, as long as you do all the homework.

I love classes like that. they always seem to be the best until you get that sub that crams the information you were supposed to learn last week down your throat.
(Sigh) Long day but things went smoothly. Visitation with viewing is Thursday night and the funeral is Friday about noon. BUT some good news. Camp Butler had everything they needed to take mom. I was sure they would need something I could not find. Apparently they took care of all that when Dad was placed there. One load gone. THEN, when I went to her bank to get the funds for her funeral (WOW!) They said my name was listed as co-owner of both savings AND checking. I knew about savings for just that reason, but I didn’t know I was co owner of her checking. Only I’m not on the signature card. I’ve been signing her name with her okey dokey stamp, but now that she’s gone I leeeegally can’t get her approval. No issue now, just need a death certificate and the account is mine and I can do another signature card. What a relief. She had no insurance but kept enough in savings for the funeral and then some. She didn’t have much but the final bills, power bills for the house, rent for the apartment etc. If That wasn’t so I would have to foot the bill had she not done what she did. Two loads gone. PLUS, by using that account for the executor stuff like the income for the house when it sells and the division of cash outputs, it will be real easy to just continue and keep the stuff separate when the good ole IRS steps in.
Ulrich- That is one beautiful church. Maybe not as “spectacular” as some, but man it’s pretty spectacular to me! Hang in there, you made very well on your own before, figuring out how to get a MRR should be not beyond your abilities.
Ken- Sorry, already bought the winning ticket.
Jeff- I hope the problems aren’t serious.
Tired and worn. The shock and guilt is wearing off a bit so I should sleep a bit better tonight.
Prayers For Those In Need.
Todd ... Our prayers continue for you and your family. I'm glad your diner friends provide some comfort to you.
Fergie.... Just saw you stopped in. Please come back and tell us the latest.
Ryan ... Thanks for the remark. It was good to have a little publicity.
Ken ... Years ago I had a decent winner in the Michigan lottery. It was a long way from a multi-million dollar winner, but it was enough to fund a two-week trip to Hawaii. That was what we did. Easy come. Easy go.
Jim CG ... I liked the picture of your new grandson. Is #1 accepting #2 OK?
I'm still not caught up on all sorts of stuff after the traveling. This is a busy week.

Got a call yesterday about the school canceling my math class, and I honestly don't know why. So......I had to go get a new math class. This one is much better, well time wise. Oh, and I had to get another book for english. Looks like my library is coming along nicely . I just remembered.......Yesterday I also lost my class schedule . Now I had to get a new one printed out right before class Monday. Talk about getting a good head start.
Didn't win anything from the lottery, and I guess certain things are still on hold . Not much planned for me today. I do need to start to get my school stuff together.
Todd...........I'm also glad us "diners: can help you out. Seems like we have a good bunch in here .

Good morning. It's 60° and cloudy. The high will be 65° and there's a 40% chance that it will be wet. Expecting a low tonight of 38°.I have no plans for anything today so anything that does get done will be on the spur of the moment. I feel good this morning even though my blood sugar level is only 65. Got to get that up quick.
