That's what I figured. Never judge a place by what's in Springfield, ILL. The worst of any chains is here. Foods pretty good most times though, I must say. But I think if the part the public sees is kept in that condition and they don't care. How's the part we don't see? The kitchen.

Speaking of kitchen, looks like the bills on me. Now tipping is on your own and these girls put up with a lot so don't forget 'em.

Tom, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the locomotive to crush the truck or tip over and kill everyone.  I would need some serious pay incentive to drive that locomotive up a 6% or so grade like that.  I wonder how much sand was used to move the locomotive, LOL.

Todd, my Great uncle was the tower master at Swan Creek in Toledo.  In 1972 they had the pea soup green with light grey paint on the inside walls.  It was way old then, I understand the last time the inside of the tower was painted was when the semaphores were replaced by the red/green/yellow block signals and motors were installed on the turnouts.

Jim, the auction continues and someone just posted a new bid last night.  I think it ends Wednesday night.  That will be fine by me since this thing is taking up space, lol.  I’m not looking forward to the trip to the Post Office, the old roundhouse is the size of a small tire; 24” x 36” and it won’t fit in the mailman’s shoulder bag!

Hm. Weird. No virus, no adware. Still didn't work. Suddenly now it does. Did nothing except backspace for about a minute in the outlook express password box and then the curser acted normal and it took letters no "donks" everytime something is clicked on and that annoying machine gun beeping is gone like something was stuck. Everything seems to be back to normal in all programs. For now. Guess I'm a corn-puter genius.Approve

Todd, maybe not all 4 this week, but in the next two weeks. A fifth may come around in the following months.

Lee, I'll have to agree with you as to not wanting to go to the PO. The shipping has gotten crazy. I shipped a set of 4 tires about a year or so ago. cost over $200 to ship them to Lousiana from florida. At this rate, it may become cheaper to hand-deliver them

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Mornin'...... er.... Afternoon folks!

Zoe you still serving breakfast?  All day long.  Great!  I'll have a short stack of buckwheat pancakes with NYS Maple Syrup and a side order of bacon to go along with the dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug.  Please and thank you!  I'll go sit at the Rivet Counter for a bit.

Well, the only thing I have accomplished so far today is to find out THAT the couple (Scout Leaders) who have been helping me teach the RR Merit Badge can't be here on Thursday.....  So on to plan "C".  Have some massive cleaning to do before they come over here and I have to now see if I can find someone else to do the Amtrack part of the MB.  They need to know how to plan a trip of 500 miles or more via Amtrack.  Just had an idea of a couple of people who might be able to help me.

I heard something about a "Fifth"?  Zoe, you serving some of the stuff under the counter again?  I could use a wee bit........  Oh not THAT kind of "Fifth".  Well are we taking Perfect, Augmented, or Diminished here?

"Due to a Cetcil wind, Dystor's vectored us into a 360-tarson of slow air traffic. Now we'll maintain this Borden hold until we get the Forta Magnus clearance from Melnics."

Later!

Vincent, glad hear that you are back in the dating game sir.  And yes, I was in agreement with you on the fire extinguisher issue.

Inch, glad to see that you made it in here, as with everyone else, I was starting to get worried about ya.

Hmm, Ryans sounds pretty good but the one down here in Troy closed, just couldn't maintain business.  Troy's already inundated with restaurants, so its hard for somewhere like Ryans to survive, but I do still miss going there on Sundays after church.

Well, for today my day of nothing has evolved slightly into a day of doing laundry and nothing!  Battery for the camera is charged up so I'll probably be adding the few pictures that I have for everyone to see the cars that I have that don't fit my era within reason.  I'll also be interested to hear if any of you might want them for various projects, I am willing to part with 'em.

I'll pop back in here shortly, I've gotta go switch the laundry over and throw the darks into the washer, after that I'll be back in for my lunch order.

Cup of coffee please.

Sitting here at the elevator. Should be home but I'm notSigh. Brenda said the computer here did the same thing. Was the keyboard. Key stuck internally. Why didn't she say that last night? My fault, I was talking to her as she was trying to go to sleep. Funny, doesn't apply when the situation is switched. Oops Did I say that outloud. OK, she's the perfect wife, but she's still a woman.

Diminished fifth? Isn't that a less than a full bottle? Augmented fifth? A watered down one? Maybe a mixed drink? Now a perfect fifth I understand. But I'll pass, I don't really care for the taste of alcohol. Except for beer of course. Within limits naturally.

Bama- Apparently, you do this silly sorting thing. Except for new blue jeans and of course reds. All laundry gets dumped in at once. More efficient, IMHO.

Gotta get home and in the destruction mode!!!Mischief

Good afternoon, time for a doublecheeseburger basket with Coke at the RC... oh yeah.

LEE: I concur, and in this I am unanimous...the two-tone scheme (lt. gray and pea soup green) sounds like a winner...and more visually interesting than white-wash. How well (or not) is the Walther's roundhouse going together for you? The time-honored Atlas has had far more "fit and finish" issues than I'd anticipated. They've also gone to some strange plastic...softer, more flexible, than I would've expected. Good luck on the auction...and congrats on having a supportive lady! Thumbs Up

On the fire prevention/suppression front... I've got an ABC dry-chem handy so THAT if "the Beast" appears, he can be quickly snuffed. I like JR's idea of a CO2...might have to start putting some bucks away for one of those. If the place really gets rocking, I've got a full set of bunker gear and a complete SCBA right downstairs. I'd love to get this place fitted with a residential sprinkler system... I guess put THAT on the list with the windows, siding, doors, furnace, central airconditioning, re-do the floors...etc., etc., etc.

Welp...I'd best get some w**k done...so I can generate at least a little more income. I did a business feature interview at a local H&R Block shop...they want to look-over the article before it runs. With anything financial, we allow THAT as it is possible to get their butts in a sling with a wrong word, or an implied something. Sheesh. Shooting basketball tonight. Irregularly irregular hours at their finest!

INCH: Hey, almost forgot to say, GOOD TO SEE YA AGAIN!

A good, SAFE rest of the day to all...

Not my rule on sorting clothes, as far as I care they can all go in the same load, but my better half has me sorting them all, lights, darks, and reds, oh yeah, and towels.  Well, I got the pictures uploaded from the camera, now I just have to get them onto either facebook or photobucket so I can get them posted in here.  I'm also going to try to get some pictures of my current motive power.  Maybe youse guys can help me ID the old Tyco locomotive I have, going by the body style its a GP7/9 however the trucks appear to be 6-axle, so I'm not sure....

Oh well, for lunch I'll do a steak quesadilla with chips and salsa and a RBF please, I'll be a the RC figuring out where to shoot the pictures off to.

Just a quick stop. I worked on making me a building, and some "boxes".  Here's some pictures of the boxes.  I need to make something to make sure they come out neater.  These were done by just "eyeing" the box.  I just wanted to see if I could do it or not.  Maybe later this week I can get some more boxes made.   I did add one shot of what they might look like near some freight. Plus you can crush these, beat them up, rip them, etc......Believe me I see enough of these each night Whistling.  Each one is different.

As far as the building.  Its going to be on the corner of the middle table.  I just poured some "smooth it" for the road.  I will let that dry over night and work on it tomorrow.  Maybe get some pictures up of that area later as well.

 The boxes!!!

Robby: Good job on the boxes.

Went to the docs office this morning and got both of my wounds examined. Both are healing very nicely. As for the wound vacuum, I have to wear that sucker for another week. I am really tired of lugging that thing around. Got most of the shopping done today. The remainder can be done tomorrow. Picked up 'Star Trek' while I was at Wal-Mart and  I'll probably watch it tonight.

ROBBY P: Bow HOW did you make those boxes??? Especially, HOW did you make the one look half-opened, dropped, kicked, and rolled through a puddle???

JEFF: Glad to hear the healing progress continues...and the end is in sight for "that sucker."

TODD: Ain't THAT just the way THAT it goes??? Wife mumbles something incoherrent in a state of sleep. Mine does THAT and also likes to flap her jaws at me while walking away, into another room, continuing both her side of the conversation AND her journey. She'll wind up on the other end of the house, then be surprised I didn't hear a word she said! Confused Or, I'll think the conversation has ended, depart the scene of the conversation, get a room or two away and hear her start up again. I usually just continue on my way (typically back upstairs to MAN LAND).

Sometimes, I wonder just how long it takes her to realize THAT even Rerun has departed the scene of the conversation...leaving her conversing with herself...and the ghost THAT visits us a time or two/year...

Been "productive" today: wrote a business feature for THAT, got it sent-off to the subject for accuracy checking (financial services/tax prep...kinda gotta), took down some of the Christmas decoration stuff, tucked Rerun in for his afternoon nap several times (everytime he hears something/anything, he explodes out from under his blanket...then looks at me: "Daddy...be a good chap and return the blanket to its proper place over me..."); even did a little laundry duty.

And hey, I'm also of the belief...it all goes in one pile...unless, as TODD pointed out, there is a danger of something re-coloring the rest of the load. My dear, dear Mother tried to teach me the whole seperation thing... BUT, at a stack of quarters per load, THAT went out the window fast back in me bachelor days...

Welp, gotta keep moving...

 Jeff.........Thanks

Chris........Well first off...How did I get that "beat up look", well dirty fingers.  Second...... just some construction paper, and I cut it to a certain size (that certain size is what I thought would look good Whistling).  Maybe tonight I can get a real measurement down!!!   I cut out a rectangle for the box out of the paper.  Then at one end I cut off the corners, kinda make that end look like a "push button".  Then I folded the two sides in to get that fold, just like when you fold a box.  Next I slit the paper on the sides (three times, and you should have four folds).  Just a small slit on the sides.  Then take the end that looks like a "push button", and fold that in with some glue on it.  Kinda wrap the box in, and the glued piece should touch the inner side of the box.  By then you should have a box, but no sides folded in.  Then just fold the sides, and glue of course.

I'm not to happy with them.  I will work on them some more.  Try to "tweak" them.  I guess since I see boxes all night,  I thought I would try to do some.

Readin the different websites etc. getting my facts I realized that stuff is REALLY far out there, lol.

Ahhh, Young Grasshopper...you haven't been well and truly tortured/tormented until you've tried to read the Bagavad Gita, or something like THAT... I don't remember which mode of "eastern thought" it's from...but "REALLY far out there" only begins to track a location on it...ConfusedSigh

Bill Murray's quote from "Caddyshack" about meeting the Dali Lama makes more sense... "Gungalun gunga gun gunga....gungala gungala." (something like THAT...)

lol, lord help me when I get to that.

Cold, wet, dreary day today. I HATE rain and cold mixed together! my sinuses are all stuffed up now because of it too.

Evening ya'll

Well murphy struck again. Just as I think I got my car figured out, someting else happens. It starts stalling when accelerating and gives me the "check engine" light. I got tired of messing around with the vacuum stuff, so I found a diagram, ripped out all the old lines, and re-did it all. The good news is the fans for the A/C and heat are where they should be. The bad news is it still runs funky, and when idling it throws "chunks" (looks like water with pieces of carbon build-up stuck in it) out of the exhaust.

So I decided to try the spark plug wires. I noticed that the piece that actually connects to the spark plug is broke and stuck on the plug for cylinder 1. I wnet ahead and set the orientation on the distributor to where my manual shows (ahyes repair manual), and it wouldn't start. Rotate wires 90 counter-clockwise from that, still no go. 180 from that, and it starts. Haven't tried 180 from the factory, and I don't think that the whole distributor cap is supposed to be 90 degrees clockwise. So I'm stuck wondering "what else did this guy do," and "why am I bothering with an N/A 2.3L?"

Maybe I should change that TPS or re-locate the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator. The vacuum line from the regulator goes to the upper air intake manifold. Maybe it's supposed to go to the tree, or to be capped along with the plug on the intake.

Robby, like the boxes, good job

AmanaMedic
Especially, HOW did you make the one look half-opened, dropped, kicked, and rolled through a puddle???

That's prototypical for the USPS, can't coun't how many times I've gotten stuff with fragile all over and it looked like it went through what you described. So the beat-up ones needs to be positioned near a mail box or office.

Evenin' folks!

Zoe how about the petite rib eye, med. rare, Baked potato, with butter and sour cream, a nice house salad with creamy blue cheese dressing, and cup of decafe.  I'll go sit in the back booth and stay warm.

I have been exchanging emails with one of the schools THAT is missing a bunch of Art and Poetry.  I took back everything I had, the lady who had all the Honorable Mentions dropped off everything she had..... so!  THAT leaves the only other person who has any of the entries.....  She is only supposed to have the Middle School and High School ones.  I would bet the bank THAT she has a large bag of entries from the 3 -5 school.   At least the committee chair is getting a taste of what I have been complaining about for several years.  It took her 2 weeks to type up and attach the little Honorable Mention award to each of the ones (Over 200 of them) that got them....... EvilWhistling

What are all these little tiny boxes doing on each table???  "Little boxes on the tables, Little boxes made of Tickey Tacky (paper)......."  Good grief, THAT will be running through my head all night!  Nice job, BTW, I like!

Got my mail this afternoon.  Got a Juror Summons.........  I have to call them and let them know what I might need for a hearing assist system.  I have no clue what is out there THAT might work for me.  This is called "Standby Jury duty".  I have to report if there is a trial THAT week.

Spent a large part of the day figuring out how I was going to get the things done I need to do to be on schedule for the Railroading Merit Badge with the Handicapped Troop.  Called another Scouter who I know has helped out with the Troop on some projects.  Guy from my church who is also a friend.  he was thrilled to fill in for the Scouter who will out of town that was going to teach the Amtrack requirement.  I also got an approval from the Scout Office on the modifcation I want to do with THAT requirement.  The executive (who has taught the MB himself) thought it would be very appropriate to modify for the Troop.

OK, I'll be back later for dessert.  I'm right in the middle of cleaning my workbench in the Layout room.........  usually looks like this:

Later!

Good afternoon, Zoe - I'll have a bowl of the potato soup, whole grain baguette, and a RBF, please. Thanks!

TMarsh
By the way, I hope you get the MRR soon, this one is just packed with stuff good for building. It's definitely a keeper

I got it yesterday at the P.O., Todd - along with my MRP2010 (or is that 2009?) issue. Don't recall much on the MR issue (briefly skimmed through, and haven't sat down for a longer period of time so far), but I'm not wild about the MRP issue. Oh, there are some nice enough ideas, but none useful for my needs. Ah, well... Hey, your mother has a good idea on avoiding the family squabbles following the funeral. I've seen a few families where they should have used your Mom's plan. Whistling

BUT, speaking of more productive things, yesterday I was going through a bunch of back issues of MR and RMC that I have, finding a couple of projects (past and future...) in them. (Those binders are suuuuccch FUN to pull and re-fit issues into. And especially when I neglected to notice the two single-rod-sized holes at either end of the top or bottom bindings. I was thinking "Why did they only give me *five* slots to fit *12* rods into? Were the mags that much smaller when the designers first made them?" D'oh! THEN I noticed the single-rod size holes, to the right and the left of the other five slots. "Uh, let's see - two single rods, plus five double-rod size slots, equals, uh... Oh, TWELVE issues!" Banged Head At times, I can be a bit slow on the uptake..) Anyhoo, yesterday my order came in, with a great ruler like this one, which happened to match pretty closely my other one - that turned up recently (Murphy's Law of duplication at its finest), some W-S accessory items (Backyard Basics, and Street Accessories) and this fine beauty:

which I plan to use as the starting point for re-painting and decaling my 'red' PS2 2893's (with the too-late-for-my-RR's-era 'Billboard lettering style) to match, in 'alkali-resistant grey'...

Robby - nice start on your swamp there. Yeah!! I'm thinking that MR had an article about making cattails (might try a search in their magazine database index online, use 'swamp' or 'marsh' in the title search box and you might find it. Ah, I see that Todd beat me to it - thanks, Todd, now I don't have to look it up, either! And Robby - how waterlogged and moss-covered do you plan to make those boards/timbers in the pond?

Uh, Chris? How ya been doin'? I notice your head seems a bit lopsided, and the padding's kinda lumpy, like somebody's been pounding something hard on it...Oops Except for the delay while I looked for my architect rules and then shipped them to you, I'd offer to send you mine (those triangular ones, right, with the different proportions on each edge?). Haven't used them much/at all since my freshman year of college (when I took mechanical drawing class. Hey, on your scale, you didn't by mistake leave it in the transmogrifier, didya? Like your roundhouse progress. Thumbs UpThumbs Up Looks nice and well-worn, there, yessiree!

Hey, Sawyer  - ya know, if Chris pointed the cows' heads kinda northwesterly, and then lit a lighter or match behind them, we could probably guarantee the snow would head your way. However, it might be melted before it gets there to you...Whistling That Geography assignment almost sounds more like Theology class to me - or are they having you place on a world map where each developed? (Well except for the Legalism one, which I think developed about everywhere at around the time that twosome got the heave-ho from the Garden..."It's YOUR fault, if you hadn't grabbed that fruit.." "MY fault? Nobody made you eat it, you as good as encouraged me with that marketing sales pitch of yours..."...Wink) And as for some of the Eastern stuff, grasshopper - I don't think even a GPS would help you locate some of it...

Chris, as for THAT steel-edged ruler from the Wayback Machine, I've noticed they don't seem to carry them in the stores anymore with all the other back-to-school stuff in August. Wonder if that's related to how schools mostly are nowadays? Shock After reading your comments on the toxicity of model layouts AND surroundings, I think I'll be very cautious and careful about my layout wiring, yes indeedy! Wow!! Wonder if I could get some flame-retardant spray for the underside of the layout?...

Lee, good to hear you're improving your loco there. Thumbs Up I think that Fergie has had internet while at sea, but it depends on what else they have him doing, so far as whether he has the time to get online. Now if he's off the ship and running from the polar bears, that's another matter...Smile,Wink, & Grin As for drywall mud alternatives, have you ever used "Fast N Final"? Our MRR club guy who does most of our roads swears by that as being much less likely to shrink/crack/go crazy on ya.

Jeff, good to hear things were going better (a bit) today for you. Thanks for posting that bobber caboose photo, too.

Ah, Ulrich - the end (for the Gulag) is in sight! [YAY!!] I do hope you don't have to do this every 6 months or something foolish like that. You have endured your torture time there amazingly well. Bow

Mike (mreagant) - thanks for the info on that guy's photos. If he did the buildings and scenicking and details, I'd even give him props on that alone.Thumbs Up

Bama, good to see you checking in, and that you are getting some 'kick-back' chilling time. What're your next home projects? I forgot if you got done with the bathroom "stuff" yet or not.

Sam - stop by again when you can stay a little longer. Smile

Guess what? I'm back in the dating game after a 2-year haitus. Wonder if having a job now helped that lol. ...The car seems to be running better

Jokingly I told her the reason I was divorced was because my ex-wife came to me and said:” the trains go or I go”.   I really thought she knew I was joking, or I hope she knew I was joking but every two to three months she buys me a random something or other for the layout or train related item to show her support of my hobby.  I was going to reaffirm that I was kidding, but who am I to interfere with other’s beliefs?

Laugh ROTFLMAO!! And, I like your idea about the specifications to the realtor, too, Lee. (chuckle, snicker, teehee..)

Hmm, Mike - the bread crumbs were gone, but you still had the scrap trackplan papers and ground-up catapult pieces, eh? Hope all are doing well around your bunch!

JR, on the layout extinguisher deal, I don't recall the price, but I have a Halon extinguisher that's safe around computers or other electronics (for those with DCC stuff under/by the layout).

Ray, I thought a 'diminished fifth' was the person who had finished off said fifth (oh, that was diminished by a fifth)...and the augmented fifth was the guy who had smoked one of those 'funny' cigarettes...Whistling

Hey, Todd - on your computer going beserk, maybe Rerun was sitting on the keyboard when you weren't looking and the keyboard buffer filled up? That is pretty weird (unless, of course it was your native computer-fixing skills, that is...) Well, we've ruled that out for now, so guess your computer is just possessed (or would that be augmented?)Whistling

Careful Chris, your HD list is likely to get way too long (along with all those windows, doors, etc.)... Hey, Robby just has one of those (1:87th size) shipping company gorillas...Smile,Wink, & Grin

Great job on those, Robby! Bow Directions? What materials did you use - butcher paper?

Okay, here's my plan for the laundry sorting: whites/sheets/cotton jammies = 1 load, pants = load 2, and load 3 = shirts, and socks (can't put the socks in with the whites, in case I decide to use bleach on load 1. Got that, guys? (And I don't buy anything red - not my color...)Smile,Wink, & Grin

Well, I have to get out of her for a little while. Hope to be back later and catch up the rest of the way.

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Ray ... You just made me hungry when I read your dinner order. A good steak and potatoes. Congrats on your will power, too. You did not "Barry size" your order!  If you don't mind, I'll sit with you and order the same thing. I know a great way to improve a steak. Sprinkle some of Ryan's rub on it first.

Speaking of Ryan. Where is he?

Robby ... I, too, like those boxes. Perhaps, you can ship some to Ray so he can tidy up his work bench. Whistling

Speaking of such stuff. My project today was to clean up the layout room. I washed the floor, and the best way to do that is on hands and knees to scrub it. The floor has commecial quality tile. However, all of the legs to the layout are in the way of the sponge mop. So, I was on the floor today.

Jeff, good to hear things were going better (a bit) today for you. Thanks for posting that bobber caboose photo, too.

Not a problem. While I didn't build the model I did make a couple of minor changes to it. #1 I sprayed it down with Clear Flat to kill the gloss that was still on it, #2 I removed the framing from the windows so it no longer appears that those on board thrust their arms through the panes.

It seems that my dyslexia has settled down to it's normal level, for now. That allows me periods of steady reading for no more than 15 minutes with a brief break afterward. Any longer and wild and crazy things start happening with the text.

It's geography class. however, the project is I think supposed to get us familiar with the different peoples and their mindsets in India etc. b/c that's our next area of study (in fact we took the test on Mesopotamia today).

After today, he can keep the snow after today. I'm actually now looking forward to the melt your skin off summer; at least that doesn't screw my nose and sinuses up

Evening all. Chloe, I'll take a RBF, thanks.

I just happened to notice that this will be my 1,000th post on the forums, and what better place for it then here in the Diner! Just for the occasion, I'll be buying RBFs for everyone for the rest of the night!!! Enjoy!

Well, we lost yesterday, 4-2, but we still played a great game.

I don't really have much else to talk about, I guess, so I'll be in the back corner.

Chloe, a refill, please?

Hi Chloe, I'm back again - how about a Rio Grande mug of coffee, please. Oh, wait - in honor of Joe's 1000th post, I'll have a RBF instead. Thank you, ma'am!

Robby, those look good - as for making them look better, go here and steal an idea or two (they have some ideas in their instruction sheets THAT you can download - PDF files). I have their kit for the Nella general store (yet to be put together). Hope that helps some.

Cederstrand
Bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes & green beans, please.

Rob, do you have one of those on your farm? Dinner I'm guessing that no news is good news so far on your tests, would that be correct?

Now that Garry mentioned it, I'm wondering if Ryan's THAT busy with his webpage development and selling his Ragin' Cajun Chef stuff that he hasn't had time to stop by the Diner... Where are ye, Ryan? About time to send out the hounds to find him...

Garry, I hope you didn't let Shelley catch you scrubbing the floor Shock - NEVER let the good woman know you can do such things! Whistling

Oh, for those of you in HO scale, that link I gave above (for Robby) to the website? On the website, their instruction sheet PDF (I think for the Nella general store, actually), has on one of its pages, a bunch of tiny newspapers that you can print out, cut apart, crumple up and/or stain with a little black ink and alcohol wash, and have wadded up newspapers for your layout! Hey, ain't that cool! Thumbs Up Just thought I'd share that with you. I'll leave it up to DerJohn-the-N-scale-Master to calculate the reduction needed on printing for N scale newspapers. John? I know you can figure it out for all our N-scaler folks... Whistling

Think I'll finish up my float and then head for home. Good to hear some of our Diners' health has been improving, and will keep those with other needs in AngelAngel. Have a good evening!

Blessings,

Night all, just about to get the clothes washed today folded and put away.  Just a RBF for me.

On the issue of home repairs/upgrades, we've still got the master bathroom and one more bedroom to finish for the girls to have.  Once they are done, we'll be redoing Heather's room since she's already staying in it and it didn't need any work done to it when we moved in.

Once those things are done, I'm going to start working on the shop and my layout space.

Since Joe is buying, I better get one of those RBFs for my dessert Flo!  I'll be staying warm in the booth by the stove.

Sure it does Barry...  Lets see, yep right here on the inside of the cover...  ****Quadruplex Burger----  Oh, I'm sorry it doesn't say "Barry Sized", but it does say, "Barry's Favorite!"  Yep says THAT right above where it mentions the instant artery clogging........WhistlingEvilBig Smile

I have actually, more or less, or should we say "good enough" cleaned off my workbench.  Found an amazing array of little tiny missing pieces THAT I have lost over the last few years.  Probably should clean it off more often.  Now I have to clean up and put away stuff sitting in various places and tidy up the layout proper so we can actually run trains........  Then I think it might behoove me to actually clean the upstairs of the house as well.  Mop floors run the cleaner, get the cat hair off the furniture....  Things like THAT!  Might actually make it in the 2 days I have before they come over.......  Tomorrow I have to print a bunch of Stuff for deacons......  Gonna be close.ShockSigh

Garry, I brought along my bottle of the Finger Lickin' Rub.  Want some?

I'll catch you all later!

That's prototypical for the USPS, can't coun't how many times I've gotten stuff with fragile all over and it looked like it went through what you described. So the beat-up ones needs to be positioned near a mail box or office.

Ain't THAT the truth?! SoapBox I sold a rather large glass powerline insulator last year and burried it in styrofoam, industrial grade bubble wrap, double-boxed; really went all-out to protect the thing. It arrived at its destination busted...big-time!DisapproveSoapBox Fortunately, the buyer said it looked like someone had really made an effort to bust it, said I had it packed extremely well. I sent him a full refund (theBay deal). He sent it back! I sometimes think the more you write "fragile" on a package...the more some USPS types see THAT as a challenge.

Good evening... I'll take some of Barry's quadruplex burgers...with fries cooked-up in beef fat (the way God intended) please 'n thank-you...with a bucket of Coca-Cola. Yep, at the RC.

JIM: I figure, they can't sell those wooden rulers with the razor-sharp steel anymore...too many "little darlings" would figure out a way to weaponize 'em. Thanks fer askin' 'bout my head...it's more or less fine, except whenever I look at certain track plans, I tend to get a bit woozy, start muttering incoherrent thoughts...contemplate getting a little circle of track and a Tyco choo-choo and calling it "good enough!" Oh, and negatory, on the disgronificator altering the scale of the trackplan... I yanked the page straight out of the magazine (entire article, in fact). I think it was one of their infrequent goof-ups. As for the triangular shaped, multi-scaled architect scale...I figure it will present itself shortly after its replacement arrives. Sigh I used to have a bunch of drafting stuff, until it was stolen one night at Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. I had a large tackle box with all the "art crap" in it. Left it behind in a studio one day when I dashed out the door to chase fire engines...came back, and GONE. The theory was a night-class reprobate must've taken it. The "normal" art students were few enough in number, and a close-knit enough group, if any of them had had my stuff...woulda been spotted instantaneously.

Fortunately, since Loving Wife also went through the same program (and managed to NOT have her stuff stolen...) we're pretty well equiped graphic design/drafting-wise. Her having been a sign painter and running her own sign shop for a few years helps too. BUT, I'm still gonna have to go buy another SoapBox architect scale. I STILL say the mouse has it...the one Rerun seems to have an agreement with.

Oh, and JIM? I doubt very much THAT Rerun was sitting on TODD's computer...unless he snuck out the door, took my truck, and drove to Illinoissssssssssss to go see MISSY!!!! Smile,Wink, & Grin

SAWYER: Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Zen... all pretty funky stuff. Throw-in Christianity, Judiasm, islam, Agnosticism, Athiesm, Druidism, Pagens, Wiccans, and probably one or two others I'm forgetting...and you can really get your head spinning trying to keep it all straight! Heck, just dividing Christianity into its various components, especially the many faces of Protestantism when you break THAT down into the many facets of Presbyterians, Lutherans, Methodists, etc.; AND then look at things like the "Four-Square Church," Amish, and non-denomenationals... Whooooooo Boy. What a circus!!!

Just marking the various origination places of the various faiths is a cake-walk compared to all THAT!!!!!

Packer
Well murphy struck again. Just as I think I got my car figured out, someting else happens.

No Sir...THAT's because you said out loud how well it was running!!!

I'll yield the floor, I see the plate of quadruplex grease burgers has arrived... uh, somebody wanna put the cardiac care unit on standby for me? Might need a stent or two and some arterial Roto-Rootering after this...Whistling

Good morning all,

The roundhouse is coming right along, the most time consuming part of this kit is painting the details. I painted the inside walls Southern Sullivan green and it looks really good!  I might just leave it alone and spray some oily black around the inside peaks.  My girlfriend commented it was the same inside color of the old railroad station in town; however she had to remind me she was a very very little girl at the time.  I painted the lintels and foundations of the walls last night with a micro brush. I need to second coat the lintels and touch up some bricks before the windows can be assembled and the two halves of the walls can be assembled.  Progress with the machine shop is progressing right along with the roundhouse; however the machine shop has blank, smooth inside walls so I’m not bothering with detailing the inside.  Doesn’t really matter it will be in the back.

Chris; the tried and true Atlas roundhouse is a good straight forward kit, but Walther’s went the extra step with a few things;  brick interior walls, finished floors with inspection pits, extensions for the stalls, roof scuppers, and down spouts.  The Heljan was a good kit, but not much detail and the roof doesn’t open and there is no floor.

Robby,
if you want boxes I have a few scans of HO-Scale boxes you could print, cut, and glue.  They were freebies from Aztec.  The boxes are printed with general information and this end up details.  Some of them are marked alluding to the contents.  I think one set is green lettering and the other is black lettering.  Like I said they were free from the company (some boxes say Aztec Hobbies on them) so I’m sure they are free domain items for advertizing.  If you email me direct at LSWRR@AMERITECH.NET I’ll email you the JPG files.  I can’t send attachments through the MRR private message system.  If you’re doing N-Scale boxes I would just reduce the printing scale on the printer and go for it.  The ones you made look excellent!
