My favorite cousin , two month younger than I, past away, alone in her apt. I'm having flashbacks of some of the many times we were together.

Thanks for all your kind words. Gone but not forgotten is very true. Just stay in touch with those you love and those you like. Yeah, at 73 , I guess with age comes heartaches.

Thanks for all the pictures of your endeavors. Wish I had some of your talents.

Peace, Love , Health and Blessings to all.

Its my bedtime so Goodnight.

 Evenin' folks!

Chloe I'll just have a cup of decafe and sit and rest a bit in the back booth.

Flip, so very sorry about your cousin.  You never know.........  You are in my prayers!

Jeffrey, watch that foot and take care of it!!!  Don't want to hear of you having to go the emergency room because you weren't behaving yourself. Shock

I finally got time to put together the piece of cloth skirting for the layout tonight.  I think it is going to be a good added touch to the whole thing.  Before:

And after  installing the first piece:

Should have some time to get more of it done tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great evening!

 Good morning.

It's 72 and partly cloudy. The high will be around 87 and there's a chance of rain.

Got the foot operation overwith yesterday and spent the rest of the day higher than a box kite in a hurricane. This morning is the first time I've seen the docs work. I don't know what they used as an anesthetic but it worked. I hadn't slept that good in a while. The doc had made an incision between 3 and 4 inches in length in the right side of my right foot so he could remove part of the Cuboid bone and part of the Fifth metatarsal bone. After the offending pieces were removed he stitched it up. I examined the area today as I changed the dressing and didn't see any torn out stitches. He said it would bleed for a while but that would stop in a couple of days. I go back to see him on the 11th for a follow-up. I woke up around midnight with a low grade fever but it broke several hours later and my temp is now normal. I just took my morning dose of medicine and antibiotics so I should be good for the rest of the day. Now what should I do today? Decisions, decisions.

Good morning.  Just got off of work, and I'm kinda tired.

Not much planned today.  Maybe work on the layout some.

Flip.......I'm sorry as well.  We really didn't know what we had until its gone Angel.

Lee.........Thanks for the update.  I might need to start Mischief.  Kinda beat the traffic Big Smile.

Jeff......Make sure it doesn't get worse.  I had one that high a few years ago, and it wasn't fun at all.

Well I gotta go get some new work gloves.  Better go now, and come back home.  Then its bed time.

Morning everyone, Goooooooooo Rangers!! Coffee please. Almost couldn't find the place it's so foggy out. Supposed to get to 80F with partly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of showers.

Today is a day off so, I'll mow the yard and maybe do a bit of stuff to the layout. Unless of course I get the ole "honey whatcha got planned" day buster.

Christmas, so close. There are stores that already have their Christmas stuff up. Not all, thank goodness, but some. For crying out loud before long they won't even take it down.

Jeff- Might I suggest a movie. That is if you have one.Laugh

Well since not much happened since last time I was here I will rest your ears and eyes.

Whoops! Sorry guys, thought of something else. After staring at my growing country elevator I was thinking of some things a modern elevator has. And that of course would require some scratch building. Things like, a bin vac, a sample probe, an auger or two, stuff like that. And John, thanks to you I shall give them a whirl.

That's all folks.

Have a Great Day!!!

Morning folks!

Poppy Seed and Garlic Bagel with cream cheese please! Thanks Chloe!

Ben's baseball practice went well last night, but seems his fall ball coaches forgot that he can pitch! Confused He asked the coach if he would be pitching in the games this Friday and Saturday and he said he had not seen him pitch, figures.... he is the head coach but missed the first practice three weeks ago when the assistant coaches were all excited about his pitching abilities. They even showed us a new technique for him to practice and improve his speed by 10 mph.... yep... got that one down! We shall see what comes out of the games this weekend. Will have to remind the coaches that Ben can pitch. Me thinks some coaches wear the dunce cap too much... Dunce

Hey Ray, I know what you mean. The Scout Law is a great tool for all to employ in the decision making process. Hey, you don't need 77+ yards of material? Whistling Thought you might be making a sail of some sort. Captain Oh OK, that skirt looks great! Did you sew it yourself? Love the pleats!

Sawyer, Ben just did the same thing, broke up with his girlfriend and is "single" again.

Robby, thanks for the tips on the doors and such for weathering rolling stock. You asked about my website, I have a few of them but the Piedmont Division (PD) site also has two sections. The main site is a set of  HTML pages and then there is the blog section. Both are hosted by Network Solutions, which, by the way, I may change to another provider that is less expensive. I create my HTML pages in a program called Dreamweaver, but you can also build HTML pages in Microsoft Front Page or another one I prefer which is a free download called HTML Kit. The blog section is powered by WordPress and is a custom blog that I use with a template as well. You can also join WordPress.org and create your own blog with them if you wish. I am in the process of trying to consolidate and move over the HTML portion of the PD site and put it all into the blog format, and this is still a work in progress.

Todd, you got that rite, no one to blame for sure!! At least she has a sense of humor about your cooking techniques. And your report on the price of beer at the local establishment has me a bit worried, but at least you got a show!!!  Laugh

Hey Robby and Todd, if you use the phrase "chicken b r e a s t" you might get to see them all! Spaced between the letters works just fine.....Smile,Wink, & Grin But chicken knockers just don't seem right, maybe chicken tata's....hummmm....

Hey Rob, thanks! And did you stock on the green paint yet for the soylent barn!

Joe, looks like a full class schedule there! What do you play in band? I forgot!!! old timers settin' in..Dunce

Barry....20 hoppers for $20! Wow!! Now that is a deal!!!! Thumbs Up

Flip, so sorry to hear about your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your cousin. Angel

So Jeff, what movies will you be watching today! We just watched Field of Dreams a few days ago on VHS, still in fairly good shape for old video tape. I heard Target has it in DVD for $5.00 now.

Called the doc about the fever and he says not to worry about it. It's a side effect of the anesthetic and to keep on taking my antibiotics as prescribed.

Morning Gang: Flip I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Please accept our condolences and forward them on to the rest of the family.

I'm in early. The Direct TV installer is here up grading the system for HD. Our set up stairs in the bedroom went out so we got a big screen set for the den and moved the set in the den up stairs. Our daughter called in and arranged the up grade. She said that it is going to be free. I told her that it had better be or it's on her.

Not much else going on. This morning is the first time in along time that I haven't been deep in chores already. I wanted to be here for the Direct TV guy.

Well he needs something so I'd better go.

You all take care.

 Afternoon everyone!

Flo, I'll have what Ryan had this morning (sounds good!) with a cup of dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug.

Drove over to Seneca Falls (the real one) and got my hair cut (actually, I had all of them cut...) and delivered some brochures for the upcoming Catholic Scout Retreat to the Scout office to be handed out at Roundtable tonight.  A Scouting friend dropped them off to me last Thursday and this is the first time I have had a chance to get them to the office.

Fairly nice day here in the Finger Lakes.  Currently 74°F with a high of 73°F.  Yep!  That's what weather.com says....Whistling  66% humidity and no wind.  Have some windows open and a couple of fans w**king to keep the house comfortable.  I'd put the air conditioners away for the season, but that would make a hot spell apear out of nowhere for the next month or so....

Hopefully I should get a few more panels done for the layout skirting before I have to head out for Deacons tonight.

Catch you all later!

Good evening everybody, Chloe? is my seat at the Rivet Counter still here? Or did somebody swipe it since I haven't been around much lately? Oh...there it is. Allrighty then....a double bacon cheeseburger with a plate of fries and a bucket of Coke please 'n thankyou.

Well, after looking through dozens of pages, I think I'm "up to speed" on everything that's been going on around here lately.

JEFF: Glad the surgery went well...now we'll see if you can behave yourself in the recovery...Whistling

SAWYER: I guess congratulations are in order, through the pain, on being single again. Hey, if she kicked you loose...you're probably better off. But, at the same time, I know all too well the pain that kinda situation can bring. I think it's safe to say we've all "been-there, done-that." I don't have a T-shirt for it though.

FLIP: Sorry to hear about your cousin... I can't imagine the pain you're going through. Your words of wisdom regarding our loved ones are so true...never hurts to reinforce our thoughts towards 'em.

TODD: Good to see the psychodillic wall paint going away...how many coats of Kilz did you need??? "One coat coverage" usually isn't, at least in my experience here in "the Rainbow House."

RAY, BARRY, RYAN, Der JOHN; good to see you guys.

ROBBY P: Haven't heard anything more on your wrist...hope it's settled down/not bugging you too badly these days.

JERRY: Glad they finally got your new chair OK'd. Hoveround was about the only sponser for the local RTN (Retro TV Network) channel for what seemed an eternity. I've got their ad jingle seared into my memory...

I saw where somebody was reciting the favorite sayings of wives: they sounded all too familiar.... A lady I used to be associated with had a different one: "How much do you love me??..." which 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the time was the preface to a "honey-do" task of some sort...usually involving much expenditure of a) money, b) physical labor, and/or c) BOTH. I should add she always asked it with her big green eyes sparkling, and a certain "I'm too sweet for my own good" smile. Devious...pure and simple.

Chloe? ya got anything stronger back behind the counter?????

W**k has kept me busy lately, part of why I haven't been in much other than quick visits to the take-out window. I'm finally getting to cover some sports again...that's how I started out in the newspaper world back at the first weekly. The school district I cover has a new football/track stadium. It is incredible...especially for a high school. The turf is some kinda astroturf stuff...wow. I want to cover my yard in it. Their home opener was last Friday, with fireworks following the game. I am even more impressed with the NIKON D-90. It got shots that just simply should NOT have worked!!!! THAT editor will be most pleased, I'm sure!Big Smile

You guys were talkin' tractors not long ago...I covered a tractor ride a Presbyterian Church put together two weeks ago...all vintage stuff. I think the newest one there was a mid-70's IH. Several vintage Oliver and Allis Chalmers machines also in attendance. I'll toss in my all-time favorite: the Farmall M.

I guess I've occupied the floor long enough, I know I missed mentioning several Diners, not deliberately, just too darn much going on in here to comment on everything.

ChrisEight Ball

Oh yeah, I was gonna ask, did anybody else (beside me) take advantage of Atlas' sale today??

We got some really bad thunderstorms today. The chance of rain was 40%. We got our 40% plus a couple hundred % belonging to somebody else. Now who's the smart alek who sent me THEIR rain!

Found out what the fever is all about. I have a sinus infection. Lovely. Just what I need right now. NOT!

Paul, you're gonna love that HD!  We switched to DirectTV and HD almost 2 years back and never regretted it.  (Xmas time seemed good for a new 42" flatscreen.

Really, given the investment in an HD TV, it's kind of a waste not to have the signal to get the best benefit out of it.

(When our son was home over the summer, he could play Blu-Ray disks in true 1080p resolution.  WOW!)
