Ray- I would suggest the kinda fuzzy side on the curtains and the plastic hooky things side to the wood because......., well....., I don't know. Just seems right to me. Or is it write, or wright, or rite.

Spent all night carve up chunks of foam for a hillside while watching Florida State-Miami. Took a while because the game was actually pretty good. Noticed my drill has a wobble it didnt have before. Not a bad bit, I guess the chuck must be offcenter after falling over some unknown time.
I feel like I wasted the weekend. Sat around watching football the whole time instead of anything else. Although today was cool and rainy so working out the garage wasn't too appealing.
Good Morning
We're going to be dull today with another 40% chance of rain and those t'underin'boomers again.
Have a small meeting to go to this morning--not really going into work until next week b/c all the work was pretty much done before I took off for vacation---I'lll be working mostly 25hr/wk yet until next month. Even the office staff are on semi-pseudo part time For now----
I'll be checking out a LHS later b/c apparently someone got some Saskatchewan Cylindrical hoppers in---and I need a barrel full!!
Chloe, I'll have a coffee to go please-----gotta run!!

Yesterday I hooked a Tsunami DCC decoder (88 sounds) into my Rivarossi “Bull Moose” 2-8-8-0. When I get home from work I’ll program it and fire it up. I installed a cheap DH123 decoder in it and it ran fine. I had a Vanderbilt tender for it; never again there is like ZERO room in those to stuff a decoder and speaker!.

Good mornin. I'll have the same as Jerry please. Thanks
Today I hope to get to finish the overhead or surge bin as Walthers calls it.I don't like the way it came out very much it seems the radius of the individual panels does not equal the circumfrance of the bin. About a half a section less so when assembled they will not make a smooth circle and when rings are stacked it is obvious they aren't. I ran into this with their grain bin but not as bad.
As I look at my office here I believe I need to clean it up. Or down. Hopefully I'll get to visit my little empire before work.
Have a Great Day!
So, this last weekend was NOT what I'd planned originally!Friday I rode the bike to work. It was a little nippy in the morning, but certainly managable. Lunch was nice, riding about half the time in the sunshine. The trip home......thats what I was waiting for! A beautiful ride through the Indiana countryside, with no timeframes, no cell phones. And then it started!Upon arriving home I was informed by the wife that I was to get in the van and take her about 40 miles away to pick up a free desk for our library. "It would help me with homeschooling", she said. OK, whatever.....I know what this REALLY means! For you unmarried or newly married types, let me translate: "I need you to go heave this huge heavy desk into our van, haul it home, take it out of the van and into the house, reassemble it, rearrange the entire library including the bookshelves loaded with books (read: REALLY HEAVY!!!!), and redo the computer area paying special attention to redo all of the wiring that has over the years turned into the largest fire hazard in Indiana history." (I love her, don't get me wrong......I've just learned to read between the lines over the years, thats all.)So there's my 3 day weekend, completely ruined, right? WRONG! That was just the tip of the iceburg! We (I) picked up the desk, then on the way back we're doing about 70mph down the hiway when the tie rod end on the passenger side decides that this is a good time to seperate into two parts. As the steering wheel tries to rip out of my hands, I glance around and notice that EVERYONE in this late rush hour traffic is moving quickly away from me! I can't help but think, "This is BAD!" I cross three lanes of now completely deserted hiway and come to rest in the break down lane to the left of the high speed lane. That was a nice cheap thrill! (Moral of the story........Bikes don't have tie rod ends, so ride a bike all the time and forget about it!)Forty five minutes later, the flat bed arrives and $180 later my van sits in front of my house again. A $25 part from Autozone the next morning and all day wrestling the mangled super rusted part off of the vehicle, and by evening I'm driving again. (Some "free" desk, huh?)I pulled a muscle fighting the wheel Friday night, then pulled a couple more Saturday trying to get the metal parts that had fused themselves together with rust to seperate, and I spent Sunday in bed recouping. Man I'm getting old!So, I wake up Monday morning to "Lets redo the library today!" Yeah, remember that? Thats what started this whole mess in the first place! But you know, I have a saying.........Happy Wife, Happy Life!Today, my wife is happy!(Now if you don't mind, i'm going to go take some more pain relievers!)
Good morning. Rain on and off today. Maybe the same tomorrow.
Went to the dentist this morning. Need to get a few teeth fixed. I have no insurance but the dentist will let me make payments (what I can spend). I'm just doing the bad teeth first, so I won't owe to much. I just haven't found a decent insurance company yet.
I will finish up a boxcar today, and maybe worok on the layout some.
Hope everybody has a good morning.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe how 'bout a raisin bran muffin with real butter along with my cup of dark roast coffee this morning? I'll go sit at the front booth and watch some switching out there.
As Barry has already mentioned, today is "dull". 71°F under cloudy skies, 75% humidity, and no wind. Just dull. I must have been sawing a bit of wood in my sleep as both cats kept waking me up last night.
I best be finishing up my coffee as I have lots to get done today. Most of it is stuff like sending out the materials for Deacons this Wednesday, mailing out some payments of bills..... Fun stuff for a dull day.
Anybody heard what was going on with Flip?
OK, need to get to w**k!

It's actually not bad, not bad at all.
Robby, the dentist huh? Hate that place! The Bible says we're not supposed to hate, but I'm just gonna have to ask forgiveness on that one!
PC...........I agree, but I hate going as well. He's kinda old fashioned. He has some old equipment, but he knows what he's talking about. The wife went to him her whole child life, and wanted to start to go back to him. I was a little worried when I noticed the old stuff, but he's very nice.
The dentist is one doc you can't really skip on.
A strong coffee in a SANTA FE mug, please & thanks.
***Lee, how about a sharing a pic of that Bull Moose pulling through some scenery?
***Philip, thanks for the "free desk" story..Sorry if I burst out laughing at your expense.
Still waiting on those LEDs to arrive so I can start finishing up some models. Started on a HO scale helicopter which the wife will turn into Life-Flight. There will be a helipad on her hospital. And as a tribute, she wants to display the name of a deceased family pilot on it. Her entire layout, including all the businesses will be named after relatives from both our families.
Have a good day y'all.
Rob
Well, the operation is over with, my foot is three times bigger than it was (bandages) and I'm feeling really good right now due to the fact the anesthetic hasn't completely worn off yet. Had to go by the pharmacy to get some hydrocodone (lortab) to take in case I have any pain. I don't look at getting much done today.

Rob, I'll get some movie footage and some still pictures together tonight. My layout is named after family members as well, it's kinda cool to see peoples face light up when they see something named after them.
Robby, how right you are!
Cederstrand***Philip, thanks for the "free desk" story..Sorry if I burst out laughing at your expense.
Shoot, I'm laughing about it now. Didn't seem so funny at the time!
And now I get to buy lunch!
Alright you chow hounds........LINE UP!
PC- "Happy wife, happy life" How true. Around here the second most terrifying thing that can be said is her saying, " what do you have going on (or planned) for (enter date here)." The MOST terrifying thing of course is " Honey, (smile) are you busy?"
Jeff- Glad the operation went well.
Anybody heard from Ulrich?
Jeff, I'm glad your foot came out ok, somtimes you need to just relax
I wonder how Sir Maddog's operation went.
Afternoon folks.
Turkey sandwich and some fresh fruit on the side for me! Thanks Chloe!
Watched Field of Dreams movie on our old VHS the other day, still one of my favorite movies. I can watch that one over and over again. Currently Ben's favorite movie.
First I want to express in the Diner what I have already stated to Garry and his family via email over the weekend how sorry we were to learn of their friend Diane passing. Know that she is in a better place now and away from any pain and suffering. Our thoughts, cares and prayers are will you always!
For the past week I have taken a few lessons from Robby's weathering mini-clinic that he thoughtfully gave to us in the Diner a few weeks ago (Another Hidden Golden Nugget) and started applying the techniques to six pieces of rolling stock, and have finished one. Hey Ray and Jim, yes I was in the order for many years. In fact my scouting experience was from Cubs, to Webelos, to Scouts (made it to Life) and then Explorers as a child. Then in my adult years I was an Explorer Adviser and then Cubmaster when my son entered first grade through his Webelos. After Katrina and the move to NC we never got back into the scouting tradition. Miss it too! And hey, Ray, thank you once again for all your contributions to Scouting, your Commissioner and Woodbadge staff experience are hard to find these days. Be Prepared and Do a Good Turn Daily! Still live by those every chance I can get!
Thanks for the cookies too Ray! And cute grand daughter and hope your knees are better now!
Nice pics Mike (Inch)!
Wow PC, glad you and the wife were not seriously hurt with the tie rod episode! You are right about that, when momma is happy, the family is happy!
Nice pics Barry!
Robby, love the CCR and the NW brand boxcars!
Congratulations Sam! Both on the marriage and for the NJT job too!
LSWrr: I picked up an HP that will print on 19” x 44” paper. Now all I need to do is find that size paper for the machine.
I didn't know they made them that big. You should be able to print up a good one with that.
Yeah, that is a nice size printer for sure!
Happy Anniversary Todd and Brenda!
Flip, prayers and thoughts for you and yours!
Todd, the best steak is always the once grilled at home! Guess it depends on the location, but between Lone Star and Texas Roadkill (hehehe), they both have their good and bad moments.
Hope you heal up the foot now Jeff! Rest it well!
Sorry if I missed anyone!
Thoughts and prayers for those in need, sickness, recovery and bed rest!

Afternoon folks!
Zoe, a couple of those cookies I brought in if there are any left and a RBF. I'll be at the Rivet Counter.
I have gotten most of the "stuff" done that I had to get done today..... Got the agenda out to the Deacons, found out who our new "youth" Deacons are so I can invite them to the meeting (one is a young man who I mentored when he was joining the church a few years ago), drove up to Canandaigua to buy cloth for the skirting for the layout, and did some shopping at a couple other places since I was driving past them saving me another trip in that direction for a while. At Joanne's Fabric I got waited on by a young lady who evidently just started working there. I tried my best to be on my best behavior..... Every time I asked a dumb question about cloth, she had to call another clerk over to answer it. I finally told her what the cloth was for, and she asked me if I had any grandkids. Of course I told about my granddaughters, and she wanted to know if they like Thomas? Seems she has 2 sons who are very much into Thomas the Train, and her whole family just went to a train museum a couple weekends ago and had a lot of fun.
Got to the checkout counter and got the cloth and the thread rung up and the clerk says that will be $402.......... Stopped me dead in my tracks! I said, ".....Uh.......what?......Huh?" and gave her a holy ***** look. The register rang up 77+ yards of fabric instead of 7+ yards of fabric. We both decided that the 2nd. amount of about $40 was a bit better!!!
Jeffrey, glad the surgery went well and prayers for a quick and uneventful recovery!!!
SilverSpikeRay, thank you once again for all your contributions to Scouting, your Commissioner and Woodbadge staff experience are hard to find these days. Be Prepared and Do a Good Turn Daily! Still live by those every chance I can get!
You are most welcome! It is something that I do very much enjoy! I had a member of my Troop Committee years ago who was also the father of one of my Eagle Scouts who always made it to the Eagle Board of Review. His standard speech he gave to each candidate was that even though he never made Eagle (life) when ever he had to make a difficult decision in life, he would always ponder it for a while and then think of the Scout Law. He would look at the Scout and then say, "It always made the decision much easier!" I have done the same thing myself and can attest to the value of it. As a Scoutmaster, any time I had to work with a Scout who was not doing what he should, I would have them recite the Scout Law. When they came to the one that applied to the situation, I would have him stop and we would talk about it. It was very effective as almost always the Scout figured it out himself and changed the behavior. Pretty good set of ethical standards for living.
OK, best get back to finishing up some projects. Later!
TMarshAround here the second most terrifying thing that can be said is her saying, " what do you have going on (or planned) for (enter date here)." The MOST terrifying thing of course is " Honey, (smile) are you busy?"
It's kind of a "Now & Later" thing, huh?
Well, I am now a free man again, lol. My girlfriend just broke up with me. I'm tired of relationships though, just gonna stay single for a bit and chillax. And also focus on my model railroad, lol.

Ryan.......Your car looks good. The one thing you might wanna do next time is to......Maybe make the door area a bit darker. Like around the handle, hinges, etc. That will bring the door out more. I also like your website. How did you go about getting it started?
Sawyer.....Women . It got to the point with me and women, I would just hangout with them. Go to the movies, out to eat, etc....Kinda keep it as friends. Until I was ready to date again.
I think dinner is getting ready (stuffed chicken ***, four cheese rice). I will pop back in later.
Afternoon all, some cookies and milk please, WHAT Ray ate the last? Oh well he did make them.
Just stopped in to check on what's happened. You can't get too far behind around here.
Ryan- Thanks and you're absolutely correct. Lonestar does have it's moments and it swings both ways. Only problem with cooking steaks at home is I've no one to blame! I have picked up a couple of tips from you pros though, I've learned that if it gets a bit....., ahem, burnt, I just say it has a lovely "caramelization" (hehe) (hey who threw that) Brenda's getting wise though and she says to others "now that he's got the caramelization down, I wish he'd move on."
I've always said never judge a restaurant by the one in Springfield.
Ray- You on your best behavior? Oh that poor girl! That reminds me of the $15 for two beers I paid at the Texas Roadhouse last eve. I didn't look at the change and as we where waiting for our table Brenda asked me how much they were. I looked at the change and said " hm, I gave her a twenty and she gave me 5 ones back. I gave her a one and yup that leaves $4. I expected a Shiner Bock to be a bit more but that's ridiculous. They returned the money and it was supposed to be only $7.50 for both. I was nice because the cute young girl at the bar was busty, er, I mean busy.
All this talk of Scouting, I must say I only made it through Webelos and never continued to Boy Scouts. Kinda wish I did. I still try and do a good turn every chance I get. Does that count. I also led an Explorer group on Mechanics for a couple years. They weren't into it just some place to go.
PC- Yeah, If it ain't now.......It's later.
Oops (giggle) Robbie used the "B" word. (he he). Try using knockers. (hehe)
Plate piled high with tacos. please & thanks.
***Ryan, nice work there.
***Jeffrey, good you made it through the butcher's shop surgery ok. Hope you don't have any pain from it tonight.
I started painting on some el-cheapo barn outbuildings for the wife. I think they will look fine, especially considering they started out as bright red plastic snap-together kits. Also pin-striped her Diner, quite poorly I might add. Good thing her eyes aren't any better than mine.
Wife is bringing her folks out to the farm for a couple nights. I expect to get plenty done in both the studio, train room, and around the farm while they're here.
Cederstrand***Jeffrey, good you made it through the butcher's shop surgery ok. Hope you don't have any pain from it tonight.
Evening all. Chloe, I'll take a bacon cheeseburger and a RBF, thanks.
Sorry I haven't been in in a while; I've been busy with school starting up and such. And now that I'm a Sophomore, I'VE STARTED DRIVER'S ED! MUAH HA HA HA! Speaking of classes, I guess I'll post my schedule:HomeroomChemistry Honors (Period 1)Band (Period 2)Theology 2 (Period 3)Drivers Ed/Gym/Writing/Gym (Period 4)Lunch (A lunch, Period 5)English 2 Honors (Period 56)Algebra 2 Honors (Period 6)US History 1 (Period 7)Spanish 2 (Period 8)
