Wow...we've got a lotta scary lookin' dudes in here.  I just assumed all you guys looked a little like Wilford Brimley doing those oatmeal commercials he used to do...you know, the kindly old gent down the street who plays with trains, and all the kids like him (the parents think he may be a TAD weird, but not worrisome weird.)

I remember when I would walk into hobby shops, the other people in there, and the folks at the cash register, would not be very good at hiding their thoughts about me.  Something like how passengers on an airplane regard the guy coming down the aisle wearing a big black turban, a big scraggly beard, and carrying a bazooka.  (Yeah, and they let HIM through security without taking off his shoes, while they held a grandmother up by her ankles and shook her til she passed out.)

Now that I've gotten older and everything, no one notices me, even when I'm standing there with my Visa card held out, impatiently.

I'm monitoring 911. I'm a volunteer firefighter. If a call comes through for our area and I have enough gas and time, I go.

Hear, hear!!!!  A volunteer!!  I know there are are quite a few of us out there.  To the rarely acknowledged and never paid.  Always there, when anyone needs us!  The paid guys are great, but they have days off.  We work AND we respond 24-7, usually accepted rarely (around here) appreciated.

It's always fun seeing the pictures of everyone else.  I don't know about you, but after reading umpteen million posts by someone, I always tend to formulate a picture in my mind of what that person would look like.  It never ceases to amaze me at how wrong my perceptions can be.  Take this picture here.......Now I've even seen pics of Jeff before, but I've never really noted his wonderful metalic sheen that he has to his skin.  And standing here next to his sister.....well, you can see the family resemblance!  Smile,Wink, & Grin

Kinda look like a huminoid blob there Robby. Wink

Well, I've got a few ideas that I want to test with a few different colors of rust for creating rust patches, so I'll use some bits of left over pikestuff walls (I cut my multipurpose building down to 10 ft. high, so i've got soem material leftover) to test them out on. report on it when I'm through.

Ahh dinner time.  I will take two sloppy joes, chips, and a sweet tea.

Well I woke up this morning with a small sore throat.  OH GREAT!!!  I am fighting it slowly.  Nothing bad yet, just sore.

A dusting of snow just stopped.  The roads are covered, and thats about it with the snow.......for now.

Finally finished up "The Rock".  I think it turned out good.

I remember the "Bozo The Clown Show."  It was a great show.  They don't make them like that anymore.

Since we are showing what we look like, well here's a picture of me coming down the stairs.

Well everybody have a goodnight, and dream of TRAINS!!!!

Jeff, that Motorola hanging off the blinds, listening to the trains? Or you waiting for the Fuzz?

OK, you asked for it. I don't have a to many photos of me. People go through too many cameras! Laugh A picture of just me is a rarity especially without a hat!

It is nice to put a face with a name. Thanks Phillip.

I'm needed to go to the Casey's and get some sugar for the 7 layer salad. Homemade Lasagna tonight! I'll bring some in later tonight for a snack.

Got almost nothing done, but I cleaned the track. And the trains run waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better now. They actually move before losing power and stopping.

Expecting another amazing win tonight, so I'm out.

PC had a great idea.  Nice to see others, and remind some of us to, post pics.  I tried to get the other cat, Augustus, to stop for a pic.  Everytime I turn on the camera he runs away!

ps; I had to go to another pic post site.

Morning all:

I see that PC has requested photos of us.  Well, here's one of me taking some down-time and evidently being bored by something on TV, I suppose.  Certainly not "NCIS" , I LIKE that show!! Tongue

Actually, it's just an excuse to slap on another photo of Remington, my new "Wegie".  Looks like the perfect Feline companion, right?  Actually, he likes the arm of the couch because it's under a heating vent.

I've got the pics, the new n train, me, and the cat who is now sitting in my lap.  Still no response from photobucket.  Is there another site around?

Anyhoo, the Atlas Dash-8 runs great, even dcc ready.  I thought HO decoders were a challenge!  I couldn't find the MRC 2400 so..... I actually found in one of the  forty (unlabeled of course) odd train  boxes my original 'Aurora Postage Stamp' N-Scale controller.  After a CAREFUL inspection and voltage test, wired the track, plugged it in, moved the direction lever, turned the knob and!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lovely sound of a tiny whirring motor, a beautiful tiny Conrail Dash-8 slowly picking up speed, it's headlight shining brightly as it rolled around the 70x40 track laying on the living room floor.    Peace at last.....the three walthers grain cars from the attic are sitting nearby......truck mounted rapido couplers.  Time for some micro-train replacements I guess.  It's more than I've had in 8 years.

Hi Gang:

Eric this a place full of top class folks for sure. I'll put in a good word with the Boss for your folks.

I took Mary Ann to the doctor yesterday. Her lungs are clear but she still has the cough and fever. If she isn't better tomorrow morning I'll take her back. Her CT scane showed that the supposed anurisum was not. It was a shadow caused by her left kidney. That will have to be removed since it is holding a lot of fluid and isn't working anyway. Her right kidney may be alright and start working again once the left is removed.Anyway good news.

Thursday it was a high of 83f, yesterday it was 33f, and today is supposed to be in the 60s. No wounder folks are sick.

I finished the feeding so now it's back to the corral to get that finished. I'm filling in the low spots in the west side. Everytime I clean out it takes some of the dirt to so in time there are low spots the have to be filled in. Possibly later I can get to some Very Large scale model railroading.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Oh yeah, I remember what I was gonna say. A little while back there was a thread that talked about the mishaps with the hobby, or something like that. And I just, um , "came up with one" shall we say, today. When you're dressed for church and you have a bit if time to spare and you decide to add a bit of Grimy black (water based of course) to a structure. Don't choose that time to scrape the gunk off of the rim of the jar with a hobby knife. Be-Caaauuse, as you are being careful not to cut your hand with the X-Acto blade, you just may loose your grip on the bottle and where does it drop? Probably in your lap. Just a guess though.Whistling

Eric, beat it with a hammer and call it dirty names, always works for me (or maybe that's just working with cars...)  Well all I spent the morning sleeping in, kinda felt like a boring day for me.  Chloe, I'll have a RBF and a waffle please ma'am.  Think that I'm going to spend the day doing as much searching as I can for a "local" (anywhere within about 3 hours) hobby shop for me to be able to go to at some point in time so that I can actually see and hold some train stuff in my hands instead of staring at pictures online (although I'm probably going to be ordering 99% of the stuff online).  Well, my plate's here so I'll be shuffling over to a booth and see what comes by the window.

I tried logging into photobucket but it won't accept my info.  When I tried the "I forgot" it tells me it sent info to my email, except it hasn't......

I wonder about these sites sometimes.
