Let the IG's (Italian Greyhounds) into their new expanded run/paddock. As soon as they entered it, they looked like they had done something wrong. Such emotional little dogs, and very sweet.
Just finished puting up on the-bay my Atlas F9 (Bluebonnet), Atlas FM C-Liner (UP) and both Model Power FA-2's (Warbonnets). This will start my Intermountain F7 fund, unless I need to put the elsewhere. Weaning off diesels may prove similar to caffeine, eventually I fall back into needing some. Time will tell.
Hope everyone is having a nice evening.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I've been out running errands today. Got some bills paid this morning, went and saw my foot doctor (he's very happy with the progress I'm making) and I got a haircut. My father was comparing me to the Geico caveman. Then, I snuck off to Alexandria. While there I hit Hare's Art and Hobby, picked up an Athearn rtr Rail-box boxcar and a Digitrax DZ143PS decoder (He had ordered some for a customer and had gotten one too many), Hobby Lobby, picked up a Bachmann Silver Series UP (that's gonna change pretty quick) gondola, and Micheal's, I picked up two 0.50 oz bottles of powdered pigment (sunny yellow and white).

***Colby, let me Second what Dick said. Time flies by faster and faster every year. Enjoy the time you are in now.
Beautiful sunny day here, going to work outside some. This evening I'll take some pics of a few of my precious vintage diesels to sell on the-bay... Have to remind myself, doing so will lead to further upgrades...
Have a great day all.
Well, Zoe, since I see Dick got the TOTP honors away from JP, I'll have a cheeseburger and a root beer float, please!
Thanks!
JP, I hope you didn't get charged extra on your ticket for the trip back home because of all that loot you hauled back with you. Good haul, looks like!
CN Charlie, sounds like you're getting a little bit of spring up there. Good suntanning weather for you?
I'll get to my burger for now. Zoe, I might want an order of cheesey fries to go with this, since Dick's buying.
Blessings on your day before FRIDAY!!,

RYAN: Canadian Hemlock are real nice evergreens, and they can be used for a hedge also. Then can be trimmed to the height that you want, and they make a beautiful thick hedge. I use this hedge around three sides of my pool. The mulch is great for around all the plants, but it is getting expensive, $38 a yard this year, I can remember paying $23 a yard back about 8 years ago.
CNCHARLIE: A bit cold up there today I see........Summer is coming, just hold on, but Spring will be very short.
COLBY: 8 more weeks of school I see, well when I read your email, I thought to myself, here I am at 69 wishing I was back in school again, and here you are wishing your were out. Colby my dear friend, you won't believe us now, but trust me, the day will come when you WILL look back upon these years in school and really miss them and your friends in school. Don't rush life, it goes by fast enough.
Time to get back outside, oil is draining from tractor and the mower bed needs re-painting and the blades sharpened.
Later
Hey guys. I can't wait for school to get out!! 8 more weeks!
root beer float and what PC is having.

Nice haul there John! I did not know that Model Power made so many "Built Ups" these days, you got a lot of structures there for the layout now!
If you have ever had the uninvited Mr. Murphy come visit your layout when demonstrating it to friends or family I hope you can relate to my story, I just posted it in the General Discussion section here: http://cs.trains.com/forums/1429505/ShowPost.aspx
Hey Dick Canadian Hemlock mulch eh! I have a stand of Hemlock trees on the west side of my propery line. Not sure what specific species of Hemlock, but I love how they look, nice little pine cones too.
Oh, and since JP is buying today, I'll have the Thursday Blue Plate Special for lunch today.....
Chicken Fried Steak
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Green Beans with Almonds
Sweet Tea
Chocolate Lava Cake
Happy Eatin'!

Records are being broken all over the country thi morning for record low temps, and parts of the Rockies are getting 3 feet of snow. It is 44F here this morning under clear skies. Northern New England, way up near the Canadian border at Fort Kent, is flooded at the St. John's river. Too much snow then heavy rains and warm temps.
Canadian Hemlock mulch is arriving today, 6 yards, so I'll be a little busy spreading that around this morning, then I need to change the oil and do all the annual maintenance to the power equipment.
Locally, the P&W RR ( Providence and Worcester ) just announced that they will now be carrying automobiles on their lines in car carriers. They already carry Ethanol and coal which has been very profitable for the interstate business. They have some nice looking locomotives, I really like their paint scheme, and now many are coming out in models by the MRR mfgrs. Gee, I model the pre 1960 era, now what am I going to do???
LEE: I will have to try that track preservative. That is a great way to protect the tracks with summer humidity on the way.
J.P. : Nice shots of you guys at Fenway Park, and what a haul of MRR stuff!!! Thanks for supporting the MA local economy too!!! Of course you know you made Ed very sad, he is so far away from Fenway and the Red Sox. The only way he will get to see them is when they come to Texas to play the Ranger, and that is quite a drive north.

Now would that be from the world where the staples actually live, or from the world thats ruled by Staples thats just outside the orbit of Office Mart? They're two sister planets, but they're very different. I find those that are from the world ruled by Staples to be kind of impersonal, while the world where staples actually live is really quite a helpful place.
Cederstrand wrote:***Jeffrey, cool shot. Notice the UFO in the sky, just left of center?
***Lee, agreed! I'll be using Unitrack, and they have expansion sections (3" - 4 1/3") which would be ideal for connecting up two doors.
Good morning all,
Rob, I would recommend adding left hand turnouts to the outer track at the corners so if you add another door to make a L shaped layout you can just slide the new section up and join the two doors right at the turnout rather than cutting out sections of track later. If you added the turnouts to all 4 corners you would be very versatile if you moved the layout to another room.

***Lee/Paul, something more like this? I forgot to add one turnout in the upper right to perhaps lead to a second door. (Note, the added outside loop is for potentially running a Bigboy down the road)

Evening Gang: I'll have what Jeff had.
I went to the eye doctor this afternoon. Not good news. I'm 20/70 so time to get the cataracs taken care of. I have an appointment with a surgen Monday to get his opinion and set up a date for the opperation. I don't know if I'll have it done before we go to New Mexico the first of June or not. I'm alittle uneasy about the whole thing. I have trouble putting eye drops in my eyes.
Rob I like the second layout. I'd take out the double cross over and add a couple of single cross overs at each end of that line. The run around use would be good. The third layout is Ed's. He's pretty happy with it. You may want to get in contact with him.
After we got back from the eye doc I sat down and let the drops wear off abit, then went out to the shop and worked on installing some more light fixtures. I got one up and found out why HD no longer handles that make. They didn't make the cutouts in the end plates deep enough for the sockets. I changed that and will finish up tomorrow after I get a couple more fixtures. I'm using the inexpensive shop light fixtures. I also need to get a case of 40 watt floresent tubes. I always like to keep spares on hand.
Well I'll say Good Night All
Evening gang,
I found a wonderful new product and I've been experimenting with it for the past 3 weeks; "Rail-zip" it's a metal preservative that conducts electricity. I bought it at my LHS. It loosens old dirt and it prevents corrosion and new dirt. I applied it last night to an older AHM locomotive with dirty wheels and it runs like a champ. $5.39 for a 1oz bottle.
Rob, I like the middle layout, but maybe add turnouts in the corners so you can expand in almost any direction later.
Looks like Dick and John cleaned house.
Worked out in the yard today, no time for MRRing , but the weatherman is calling for rain all weekend so hopefully I can finish some of the projects I started.
Lee

How can you stick John with all that food
and while we're on that subject i'll have a otr cheese burger and a large coke please
cheers John
John's buying?
Chloe, hook me up with the Down East Feast!
and a.....
and hit John's credit card with that please! Thanks! Oh, and throw in a nice tip for yourself too!
Coffee in a SOUTHERN mug, please & thanks!
JP, nice pics and great haul.
CN Charlie, glad you found a good Vac. They are a power tool (of sorts) and having a real good one makes using it almost fun.
Good Evening Diners!
Hi Dick, I am alive and well but haven't done much RR stuff in the last few days. You certainly made out well at your LHS!
Weather here has been a lot better than expected with temps of 17C today. I've been trying to get some yard work done after work and so just flop in front of the telie when I get in. Not enough exercise so I don't seem to have the energy I should. In fact just got in now from pumping out the pond again. Soon time for Jeeves and Wooster.
I was on You Tube the other night as I like to listen to the music from my teenage days in Rainy River. Songs like Baby It's You by the Shirelles really bring back those times.
We did get a new vacuum over the week-end. We wound up with a Miele which certainly is a well made unit but it should be for the price. It's an exciting life I lead! No end of fun running it around the house. I call it the Mercedes Benz of vacuums-closest I'll get to owning one of those.
I've got a PK2 boxcar kit on the work bench but I haven't started it yet and it might end up being a summer project for rainy days.
Well time for my telie flop,
CN Charlie
JOHN: That is a nice haul!
I want the ribs and a Dr Pepper.
David Parks I am the terror that flaps in the night!
I'll have the steak and potato.
Sure! I see how it is. A person comes in ehre to share the photos of his expensive MRR purchase from last Friday, and what does he get for it? TOTP! That's what!
Well, eat up all!
Chloe - How about some Steak and crab legs, please? Thanks - just throw it on my tab since I'm buying this page and I'll take care of it tomorrow.
Take care!
Evening gang!
I'm uploading the photos to my photobucket account as we speak. Once I get them set there, I'll post them here.
Photo # 1 is of the 3 of us (g/f, her nephew, and I) on the tour of Fenway earlier in the day on the 24th
The rest are of the $500. MRR purchase on the 25th!
So gang, there you have it. Hope you enjoy them!
