I keep coming back to how good that dirt road looks . How did you make it?
heres some of my favorite pics from the American Railroad Association Ghent - Belgium:
I don't know where this next one comes from, I had saved it to my computer a while ago, so if anyone recognizes the layout, help!!! lol
and heres a couple from my under-construction layout. Not too much to look at yet, haha. The first one was me testing out the basic arrangement of my 3% grade to see what I can pull up it. The 2nd shows the final track arrangement for this part of the layout. sheet-o-ply with #8 turnouts what? haha
and heres a little shot that I like to show off (can you guess why? hehe) of the diorama I'm building. Its since been partially scenicked, just haven't gotten any pictures yet
This has become my favorite thread by far, the pics posted here are undiscribable, unreal at times and I have to look twice at some of them to make sure that they are indeed scaled down scenes from real life.
I also like the idea that folks update their favorite scenes as they improve their layouts.
Here is an updated one of mine, as you can see I like military trains alot!
I had to do some track work (Right side of pic) and then it was done.
Happy Rails and keep these great pics comming!

Dude, your stuff ROCKS!!! You freakin' Europeans... you model our country better than we do!!! haha
Your stuff really reminds me of John Wright and his Federal Street proto87 layout, as well as this other fantastic European layout: The American Railroad Association Ghent - Belgium

gOT another one, sunset sets as a 1950 something ford flatbed crosses a crossing,
here we go again
Wow, this particular thread just keeps getting better and better!!
Here's a couple of new ones that I tend to like:
Rio Grande 2-10-2 #1408 on Deer Creek viaduct. As you can see, the scenery's not finished behind it.
My yard scene--Rio Grande 2-10-2 #1400 dumping its ashes. Seems Fred in the gondola is a little anxious to get them out of the ash-pit. Hey, Fred, those ashes are HOT, and that's a WOOD gondola, Doofus!

I've just picked up some of my favorite scene, those are mostly my N Scale's pix.

Whenever Walthers has anything on sale, I order it thru Glen and avoid shipping charges. Not only that, he knocks off a few extra dollars from the already lower price I'd have paid Walthers. Not sure how he's able to do that, but it certainly keeps me going back there!

I'm diggin' your chain link fence. Was it a kit? What is the mesh made of?
Like your scene. The overlap of train, hoist, train, fence, train, buildings gives it a sense of a lot of depth.

Hi,
This is one of my more recent favorites....
A scene from my LaSalette Free-mo module from the Canada Southern (CASO) club layout. Since dismanteling my Port Kelsey layout I haven't had much oppertunity to do much modeling, so this little module was a welcome project.
Rich Chrysler's NYC caboose sitting on the LaSalette module.
I will have the module set up with the rest of the CASO layout this weekend in St.Thomas at the former CASO train station if anyone is interested.
More shots on my CNJ Bronx Temrinal site.

Well, not to stray from the topic at hand too far...
Mine runs like a dream. It's got a die-cast metal body, so it's got plenty of chutzpah, and the external gear train is plenty flexible to make it around those tight curves on the Chaffee Branch.
Putting in a decoder is pretty straightforward, but you have to start with a DZ-125 or smaller. It fits up in the oil bunker, but there is some cutting away of material required.
Power is transfered to the wheels via an internal worm gear, very similar to a typical diesel model. The side cylinders do rotate, but it's strictly cosmetic. It's slow speed capability is excellent, and it has a very low top speed.
I know you do Lee, I've been meaning to ask you how do they run?
Are they actually powered thru the drivelines or by a hiden gearbox?
How was the decoder installation?
Kudos to Atlas for coming out with those for the N crowd.
Don't worry, gear-heads... I have a Shay and I'm not afraid to use it!!
yea! more powered boxcars !!!
Seriously, looks nice wm
