Here's a little wake up call. Trentonizer, you have 14 posts.
7 Are ranting and whining at poor Jeff.
Come off it wouldya?
We're tired of it.
Terry,
Getting back to the subject at hand - layout photos - that's a great model of the Banker's Club. The whole town looks just like I remember it. Maybe your version is a little cleaner though. I had to wipe off the soot from the toilet seat before I could use it. OTOH, I got to watch a coal drag headed up by 6 SD-40's (this was about 20 years ago) so the view made it all worth it.
Now, just to irritate another poster here for multiple postings, here's a picture of Courthouse Square in Hillside:
This is my first WPF post. My 2 year old & I went railfanning in the basement.

Jeff,
I never said you should not post because your camera was cheap. I said that the pics you were posting were of poor quality. A cheap camera can still yield good pics and an expensive camera can yield poor results. Its learning how to use it and what its limitations are that lead to good results.
There have been defenders of yours who have said that they like your pics and that you should keep posting them. One said, to paraphrase, that it wasn't like you were posting the same pics a million times. The earlier post was to show that you were. Maybe if you weren't so busy trying to post every picture you have you would have realized you were posting duplicates. The other post was constructive feedback as to perhaps why you were getting por results.
I could post dozens of pics. I have taken probably 75-100 or more this weekend. But before I posted any of them I reviewed them and selected the ones I thought were worthy of posting. A lot of the pics I trashed. I took them experimenting with different camera settings to see what the results would be.
Sometimes, honesty hurts. I've already agreed that the way Tretonizer put things was out of line, but the main thrust of what he was saying needed to be said, maybe not in that way though. I guess the other question to you is, do you post pictures to get feedback on your modeling or do you post pictures as a way of validating yourself? This is a hobby in which you can spend a lifetime learning, but if nobody is willing to tell you that what you did is only so-so and that you can do better and instead you're only told everything is great, then you never learn and grow.

27 times he has replied to here so far. 27 out of 156! He is another point. I have about 50 pictures of my train layout and since it is WPF I just would like to know if I should post every damn picture of it that I have? And not in one shot but about after every three people reply then post another one and another and another. Gives us all the pictures in one reply. Once I figure out how to post pictures I will go to town too and no matter how my layout looks I would like to hear ONLY great replies ok? Thanks
P.S> Any guys ready to volunteer their $10 a person to get this guy a new camera? I havent heard replies about this yet. Where are all the "We are the world" supporters. LMAO A decent camera at Walmart 5 mp, a kodak or Polaroid on sale for only $89. Thats it so all you need is 10 guys to cover $10 a piece and Jeff will have a new camera then we can tackle his obbesive posting after that but its a start
First time I've ever seen WPF flame out!
Gettin there! (now back to the regular posting and flaming!)
JKtrains - My point exactly
I really didnt want to get a fight started but everyone has come at me disagreeing hard. You can actually see it? Seriously? You see how he keeps on posting and doing it over and over just to do it. I know this has to get annoying to other people but no one will admit it or even tell this guy the damn truth. Instead they are having a grand time telling me that my father has not kicked my *** or that I am a troll. So here is the kicker, To be honest whether good or bad = troll. Thats the deal? everyone would love me if I said "great Job Jeff, I love your photos you post over and over and over, theyre fantastic" But since I say that most of the pictures of garbage and his continual posting is garbage then I am a bad guy, AKA A s shole. I am a good guy and I give credit where it is due. Even Conrail guys pictures and layout so far actually look good. They are interested to see BUT if he posted the same similar pics in this same topic 15 times it would get boring and quite annoying too. I went to that other forum Atlas and took a look at Inrails layout and WHOA!! His work and layout is great not to mentin his pictures came out great. I can surely see good work. Im not the bad guy here I am just the guy who shares his opinion. Im not a trol or any other gay word like that
for gods sake........ some one better email the moderator and tell him to warm up his index finger for all the delete buttons he's gotta press first thing monday morning! i just dont know what to say!
anyway everyones pic look good! i dont mind seeing them as i dont have any to post yet.

Jeff, are trying to prove Trentonizer right? Haven't you already posted this pic in this very same thread? Check out Jeff's post dated 08-24-07 at 5:09 pm. It's the second pic in that post. Come on Jeff!! We've already seen it, if you're going to hijack the thread at least show new stuff and not the same old thing again and again. At least wait until next weekend to post duplicate pics!
To all the Jeff lovers out there I'll use this pic as an example. I don't dislike Jeff, I've never met him, never exchange emails with him so its not a personal attack since I don't know him personally, its a critic of the pic.
First, this same basic pic has been posted maybe a dozen times. Sure, sometimes the engines are different, but still the same pic over and over again.
Second, you can't read the paper signs above each loco. I'd sure like to, but because of the poor quality of the pic I can't. I can't even click on the photo to enlarge it because its as big as it gets.
Third, Jeff likes to talk about his homemade 'decals'. Well, even in this poor quality image I can see the yellow chevrons on the loco are not properly adhered to the nose. If that's his preferred method of homemade 'decals' - fine, but don't suggest they're comparable to inkjet decal making. You can tell them on every pic.
Fourth, was there a blizzard last night? All the white plaster in front of the locos are messing up the cheap camera's light meter. The white is way overexposed, which I would guess is the result of Jeff trying to adjust the photo's contrast so that the locos look alright. If the foreground area had been fininshed it would have eliminated this issue. And by the way, there was an earlier post that inquired if Jeff was modeling a winter scene because of the exposed plaster in another shot so I'm not the first to comment on the exposed plaster.
I could continue or I could pic one of Jeff's roughly 20 others posts in this thread.
Yes, the thread is called Weekend Photo Fun. It's no fun looking at basically the same poor quality pics 20 times over, each and every weekend. To those who think everything of Jeff's look great, then the emperor's new clothes are beautiful too. Remember, sometimes you cause more problems by not telling the truth.
Wow. Up to seven pages!
Now I know what a landfill is.
Regards,
Tom

I must say; your point was very clear! I kinda agree; although I must admit some of the photos aren't the best; for a $10 camera; they're as good as you can get! I especially like the one of the B/W steamer!
I do think we should just stop the arguement; it's geting us nowhere; and it's not a great first impression for new-comers!
Great photos everyone! I don't really have any new ones.......

I enjoy seeing just about any kind of picture, from layouts under construction to the super detailed layouts from guys who are also great photographers. I'm glad there are several forums to visit because each one tends to give me a different perspective than the other.Actually, my wife doesn't understand why I bother taking photos at all. I just pat her on the head and say "Honey, you just don't understand model railroading".

Actually in my world CNW bought UP and relocated the nose bells (except on SD40-2s) to the left side of the loco on the frame. Check my website for more info on the hobbies and model rr page.

I have to agree with conrail92 about your black & white photos: they really are neat.
If I can put my two cents in about our little troll problem is that I have a 6 megapixal camera that my wife paid a great deal for and my picture still come out crappy. It's hard when you don't have the right lighting or your scene isn't finish, but that isn't why were are here on this thread. We are here to post the fun we are having this weekend no matter where our layout is at in construction. I believe that when Jeffrey is all done with his layout, lighting and scenery, it will be special. But then again, who's layout is ever finished. Jeffrey keep showing us why Model railroading makes you happy. We thrive on that, and it rubs off.
