I finally understand, it all makes perfect sence, NS does run some trains with only one engine because most of their fleet is over here in California doing UP and BNSF's job. Everytime I turn around BNSF has a NS in its lashup.
Maybe NS runs the whole nation:
NS in Montana:
And NS in Cali:

Yep, looks like the forum's foremost troll has a major bug up his caboose. Probably can't figure out why Jeff is so universally liked and he isn't.
Great photos everyone. I love the yard C&O Fan, and I'm also a sucker for night shots. Jktrains, does that Good Year sign have a fiber optic chaser around the perimeter?
Jeff, don't let the twerp get you down. Judging by the side-by-side photos, I think your old camera is actually capable of a better photo than the new one, but it's focused on the items in the background. I can clearly read the Plaster of Paris box, and the smokebox door on that junked Bachmann is unmistakable. Does that camera have a macro setting? If you could focus on the engines in the foreground, it should be sharper and less pixelated. I think we'd be able to read the signs above the stalls.

Now that is a great shot!
How big is my layout? It takes up most of an 8 by 14 room. The same room where my computer and kitchen are located.
Here's my track plan.
I tried getting this as clear as I could but you know how it is. The red writing top left is Fox Chemical.

selector wrote:Glenn, the blue links in the threads above work. I like your "stuff", particularly that major "D'Oh!" when the two locos meet.
Thats what I said when it happened. If I keep that up I will have a good video of out-takes.
I have two shots here, same subject, same lighting, same conditions. The only difference is that they were shot with different cameras. Both shots recieved the same editing.
First, from my old camera, an Aiptek Pencam.
And second, from my new camera, a Vivitar Mini Digital camera.
I'm sure you'll agree, the new one is much better. BTW, the plaster is painted gray, the new camera makes it white for some reason.
Okay, I don't think any of you know but I am presently in Hawaii on the big island for work. Today being Sunday, I was naughty and missed church and went up the coast to a train museum. That's right the big island did have trains at one time to haul sugar and passengers.
Here are some Photos:The last photo is the highway that was built over the trustle.
The museum is called the Laupahoehoe Train Museum. Sad for me it was closed though the sign said open on Sundays. I guess Laupahoehoe was the end of the line and the museum was where the station once stood. I'm not sure if I am totally correct, I would know more if the darn place would have been opened like it said it would be. Kind of neat to see that there were trains in Hawaii.
I've was rumaging through some old pictures and found some photos of my previous layout. It was called the Linus Ridge RR and filled most of a 2 car garage. I had all of the track in and had just started in earnest on the scenery when it came time to move...

Sorry for the poor picture quality, this was predigital days and I scanned it from an 3.5 x 5 print. It also did something funky with the color that I couldn't correct.
Cheers,

Jeff, you keep on keepin' on. I've seen crappy photos of great layouts, and great photos of crappy layouts. Some of your low angle shots are terrific, even if they're not publication quality.
I've got a nice expensive camera, but it can't get as low as yours, partly because I'm working in N scale.
Frankly, I'd rather see a few extra shots of you really enjoying your trains than hearing a pop-valve go off from someone who won't post their own work.
Some of your shots remind me of these shots I took one or two layouts ago...and two cameras ago...
Consider these my contribution to the garbage heap.

[Edit] There we go and a nice layout it is. Got to work on that CTC system though. You have to pick the second choice. "Direct Link", and copy and paste it here.
JK, I love that Sunoco sign too. That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for instead of those corny Model Power gas station signs. Please give us at least a summary of how you did it, especially the graphics.
Jon, nice pictures and modelling as usual. I'm still trying to get grass growing between the grades to look as good as yours.
Too many other nice pics to remember in between the interuptions to WPF this week. Thanks to everyoe who posted pics no matter who you are.
