Awsome stuff everyone! Yoshi; that lighting is awesome! You've certainly made progress!

Jeffrey; if you remove the spray bottle from the photo with the CR unit; it would look totally real!

UP2CSX; that night scene of the city looks great!

Great work everyone!

Now.. to dig up some photos that don't look too horrible.....

Here's my first try at doing some layout photos so be kind. Smile [:)]. This is mostly scenery. I'll post some trains later tonight.

Here's an Athearn GM&O RTR I detailed. This is the world's only clean GM&O locomotive that's not a builders photo. Approve [^] It's a good runner though.

Downtown overhead view during the day:

Same scene at night:

Heading out of town towards the highway overpass for a weekend of camping:

Central Street at night. If you look carefully, you'll see the current feature at the Drake Theater is "Dirty Harry". My kind of guy. Bow [bow]

Headlight on a CSX U33C lighting up Amanda's cut.

Thanks for looking.

Regards, Jim

Medic, lookin' great! Ain't it a nice feeling, seeing the railroad taking shape?

Okay, I spent about 10 hours on the railroad yesterday, and three or four times that over the course of the week, so I'd better have something to show for it.

Beginning work on a new hill in the back there. The insulation foam is in, and the ground foam coming. Unfortunately, I have to finish this hill before building my main yard, as once the yard is built this area will be virtually inaccessible. Sigh.

Not much in this one, but this is the beginnings of the Bellows Falls, VT tunnel. Those who have seen it will see a familiar scene beginning to take shape.

New retaining wall on US-5 just south of Bellows Falls. Another relatively simple project, but one that was overdue for many months now.

And now to the good stuff, I guess.

Yesterday was spent installing new lighting. The railroad is now lit by basically Fugate inspired lighting. In that shot, I had the work light on, so the effect wasn't very strong. I'll take another with that light off, with the essentially shadowbox effect. Thanks Joe!

With the new light

Above is my first every pure scratchbuild. It serves as a flour unloading bay for "Vermont's Best" Apple Pie Company.

And the latest locomotive fleet addition in a long time. The Union RR MP15DC, planned for B&M decaling, idles outside WM tower in Westminster Heights, VT. I haven't installed the handrails, details yet due to the decaling.

And two videos of the new locomotive with sound:

Hope you enjoyed the photos and videos.

I was in Michigan last weekend for the Nascar race.  We stayed in Kalamazoo because there wasn't anything closer to the track. Portage Michigan, which is like a mile away, has a shop called the Train Barn.  They sell primarily larger scale trains.  They had a few HO items to look at as well.  The main reason I went there was to see their 2,800 square foot layout.  It's O scale, but still cool to see.  The race got rained out, so this was the only highlight of the weekend.

Nice work!  Happy to hear you are truly underway.  Something scares me about that ski jump in the background of your first image, though.....
