Picked up a spool of 20 gauge spealer wire from Radio Shack on Monday. Sat down today and rewired my 282 Crane, put 4 feet on each terminal. Will go from crane through hole in bench work to a terminal strip and then from terminal strip to controller. Have the one piece of Gargraves S gauge rail 90 percent installed along 2 straights, 1 curve and 1 more straight. The trick will be to get the second track 4 1/2 inches away and getting it to curve like the other one.

Frcatured a rib on October 6, falling down a set of steps from the deck to the back yard. Following Thusday a sneeze caught me unprepared and I think the rib completely cracked so I am not getting as much done with the trains as I would like.

Hi John - cool info!  Wish I had one ordered, but I don't have any TMCC equipment yet.  Someday, maybe.  I'm sure Laz is excited!  Finally got some rain here today - bad fog to start the day and then rained on and off all day.  I need to mow the lawn one more time this year and then clean the mower and put some treated gas in it for the Winter.  Latest episode of New Yankee Workshop had an interesting shed project - not as big as 88's, but interesting.  He used some of that vinyl wood for outside trim and stuff.  Of course, Norm makes it look pretty easy!

88 - a lot of builders nail and glue the floor to the joists to cut down on squeeking floors!  Could you use a sawzall and a circular saw?  Set your depth (width of the flooring is prob 5/8 inch?) and cut the outline out, then go back with sawzall or your jigsaw and take it out in chunks?  You could maybe trim off the tops of the joist with the sawzall too?  I'm sure you know all this and have it done already, but just my My 2 cents [2c] Keep us posted!  I had to replace the flange for a toilet for the same reason but they set it in the floor at an angle and the toilet was literally rocking on the edge for about 3 years before I found out about it - nobody thought to say anything.  What a mess!  The seal was long gone, man.  Be careful and keep yourself clean after messing around with this stuff, esp under your nails and stuff.  I ended up in the hospital with an infection from changing that toilet/mess.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I'm right here.  Was at TCA openhouse today, where Jerry announced that Lionel would ship your Big Boy (along with everyone elses) to the Dealer on Friday of this week!  Legacy controller will not be shipped till December.

Demo's at York, Two a day.

Very interesting day.

Busy night here. I changed FIL's oil, did some chores around the house, made dinner, and played with the kids. Now I have a small window of time to myself after the kids went beddybye. I hope there is something good on tv.

I know that shot, Dennis. On game days, there used to be CSL trolleys jammed all the way up Addison. 'Course it was just as crowded on the South Side too. I've got to swing by the local HL. Mine usually just has a few sets and loads of Woodland Scenics stuff for the smaller scales. Used to carry a fair amount of K-Line. Had a good walk today.

A quick stop by.  Hope all is going well.  Chief, ya holdin' down the fort?  Keeping real busy lately with no time for trains or computin.

Doug Murphy, went by Hobby Lobby today, they have  a puzzle of Wrigley Field hosting the NY Giants vs Cubs.  The photo shows several trolleys lined up out front.  Thought you may like to get a look next time you are there.

Also, Hobby Lobby is carrying a bunch more "O" items, including Life Like and Cornerstone products.  With the 40% coupon, I picked up the rail yard set with switch tower, maint. shed, gate, track car and building for $27.00.

Well, gotta run.

Yep, Heaven on 7 is still there, Kurt. I'd be really broke if I partook of all the nice restaurants around here.

Off on a walk - think I'll meander all the way up to Victoria's Secret on Michigan Ave and back. Blush [:I] That's about two and a half miles.

Back from my walk. It's so nice out there, I took an extra long stroll today. I just got word that I do not have to pick my daughter up at school today. She got out at noon with a 1/2 day. So I will use the time to do more unuseful things.

Too bad I don't post on the other forum any longer. There's a guy looking for help cleaning and fixing the flaking on his post war tank car's decals.  I could have helped him. Oh well...

Don't know yet... after spending 1 hour and only getting a 1.5 x 1.5 foot area pulled up I gave up for the night.  The dehumidifier is working wonders though, the surface of the boards look dry as a bone this morning and it was still running, so I guess it is sucking the water out from inside the boards... hopefully that will make them more brittle and easier to remove when I get home tonight... I've been so frustrated by this portion of the project that I haven't taken pictures... Banged Head [banghead] I seriously thought about dropping an M-80 into the toilet room last night (that was when I decided I better stop Whistling [:-^])...

Jim

I first sanded down the roof with 800 grit w/d sandpaper, followed by MicroMark sanding cloths 2400 - 12000 grit. Then I polished it with Turtle Wax polishing compound. The end result was a very high gloss. In a week or 2 I'll wax it and that will be the final luster. I also painted the trunk lid, but didn't have time to sand that smooth last night. My wife is ecstatic with how much better the car looks. And when she's happy, I'm happy.

A lot of people swear by Preparation H for a tender hole, Jim. Laugh [(-D] Thumbs Up [tup]

Late Morning all from beautiful Southern Ohio

Sunny cool and beautiful out.  I am thankful to be off on such a nice day.  Despite homework and rain I got the two long sides formed up, squared leveled and braced for the garage floor concrete.  Hope to finish the end today.

Doing a little reconfiguring on the layout to put Gabe the Lamplighter on the table.  While under the table going to put the electromagnetic crane and maybe the second coaler and there is the baggage loader.  .  .  I need more room!!!!

May God bless

Brent, one of the trucks had a wheel issue if I remember correctly. I fixed it with a parts box spare. We have a big train show coming up next month. I need to stock up on spare trucks, etc.

Rain expected here tomorrow, Friday, and possibly into Saturday.

I'm dying to get started on that tender. It's going to be a challenge.

YUCK!  I would rather starve than eat grits... of course there is no nourishment in grits so I'd die even if I did eat them! LOL!

Wes - I'll gather a list and send it via email.

Jim - That tender looks awesome!  I still can't believe you didn't find anything wrong with the trucks... I swear they were messed up when I sent it... hopefully I didn't send my good one... Confused [%-)]

Chuck - yeah I know the walk would do me some good... get me out of this cubical and see some light and breathe fresh air (if I go the right way, the other way goes through the smoker zone which means there is no oxygen in the air).

They normally back down at that point as they know there wrong and I know the law about it.

RT, I believe that that is a misconception.  It obviously is good business practice, but I don't think there is ANY federal law to that affect.  You don't know what law it is or where it can be found do you?  Just asking? Confused [%-)]
