Afternoon all,

It is beautiful in Southern Ohio.

Just got up after working all night.  Taking tonight off because going to Columbus Saturday for class then work night shift Saturday night, talk about messing with your sleep patterns.  13 more months to go till ordination, internship will be less time demanding.

Just ordered the concrete for the garage floor.  14 yards 6 bag mix with fiber, $83 a yd.  Man that could buy some nice trains.

Saw on ebay a tipple car set being sold by Stout auctions.  We’ll see if I’ve got deep enough pockets to get them, the garage addition has impinged on my train budget.

Jumijo- Kids are like germ incubators

Kurt- Thanks for the Sweetest day reminder, I can use the brownie points.

Wes- Its pop here, but toward Cincinnati it is soda, isn’t something you bake with???

Don- My bride drives her mom to Florida where her mom winters, and the travel schedule is similar, only more bathroom stops!

May God bless

Nick,

Further to my earlier post; I have found a UK/US transformer at Maplins, it's a fig.VR05 300VA auto-transformer which they assure me is up to the job. I have purchased one and DHL should deliver in a couple of days, total cost £34.99=$70.00. If it works? This could be the answer to all our PS problems (What's betting I've goofed??).

Lovely sunset over Stockport, dry and mild but frost forecast for tonight, may get to Chatsworth tomorrow-The Duke of Devonshires home. Now HE IS a real Sir. I don't like imposters!!! Change your handle James..........?

Good morning from a grey and warmish Chicago where I hope this will be a relatively easy day at work. Ran trolleys last night and contemplated on rearranging track like Wes to link two loops with a long bridge.  I heard Joey Bishop died yesterday - last of the Rat Pack. They deserve their own boxcar...  Good hunting to all the Yorkies!

You would think so, I think they typically average about 300 miles per day.  I have travelled with her parents once before, they get around to leaving a motel about 11, then stop to eat, then get gas, and your finally making progress about 1pm.  Then start looking for a place to stay around 5 or 6.  Drives me nuts!  So I don't go with them.  The train would be faster!!

Jim,

Try Amazon.com for DVDs etc. I've been amazed at what they can cunjure up, They even found several copies of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam for $18.00 and a copy of JCs Blood Sweat and Tears each of which I have sought for many years. ERNI's still got a frog.

The Great St Trinians Train Robbery has a Southern  region DEMU, a Hunslet 0-6-0T Austerity, a Wickham trolley and a Gandy Dancer among the acts.

Just taken a further 3 yr subscription to CTT, am looking at getting a cheap 230/115v transformer and am going to see if the Copper Canyon tank can run, not bothered about sound effects.

Morning all.  Did I miss reading WHEN the Big Boy is coming [I've been saying Santa will bring]?  Jimbo, the Ohizoians call it POP.  Tonic is a home med. [probably mostly alcohol].  Your Sox must have been into the tonic to win the game.  Got to go for now.  Get half price on big breakfast buffet downstairs.  Flooding in FL and we are drying up in NC.  8.9 inches of rain yesterday.  HEY!  Share. Wink [;)]  Some bad weather all over the country [including FL].  Later

layout...add to it a little if you must, but don't drastically alter the original looping.

Fifedog,

This is just one of the designs I have come up with.  I'm happy with everything on this one except that it only accepts O31 sized trains.  I basically took my old design and stretched it out around a 90 degree corner.  I don't have my sidings or scenery on here yet.  Really just a rough track plan.

And here is another.  I still keep my original layout, but also put in as many big radius loops as I can get in there.  I sacrifice space for scenery objects, but I can run some long trains and move them around.  I can also run two trains side by side, which I really like to see.

And probably the best of the bunch...so far...

Good morning all,

It is cooler with a mix of clouds and sun in SE Indiana with highs in the 60s.  I ran the 10E with the freight cars last night.  I forget sometimes how relaxing that is.  I finished reading a book about the battle of Monocracy Creek during the civil war.  It is interesting how close the south came to capturing Washington, D.C. in 1864.  I did weights and track at the YMCA.  Another busy weekend is on tap.  We have a wedding to go to on Saturday and a trip to Bloomington on Sunday.  There was the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Interesting...I was planning on trying the DPDT approach...but I have the 022's.. Let's compare notes after.

Morning!

Not much going on here....Bride is finally done in..80-90 hour work weeks are finally taking their toll...after about 5-months...I'll do a bacon wrapped fillets with corn on the cob, and roasted potatos for dinner, and try to get her in for a massage saturday, to get her away from the attention craving children for a few hours.  She can't do the hot tub....too soon after surgery.

Sir James:  Nov. 4 show is iffy...  MIL said she's comming to town that weekend.  Bride and I vowed to not ditch the other one with her.  She's a lot of work.  I'll see how the bride is feeling by then, and recalculate.  Still not out of the question.

Awaiting new (to me) Birney, and 2025!  I'm pretty excited about these two!

Reminder:  Sweetest Day is tomorrow the 20th.

Morning to All,

A fresh pot is brewing.  Getting ready to head to York.  I'll meet a buddy for breakfast at about 8:00 and then head to the Fairgrounds.  The meet opens at 9:00.  I only walked the Orange Hall yesterday.  It is the largest of the buildings.  Will probably start with Silver and Blue then make our way around to the Orange Hall.  Thursday is typically less crowded.  Today the halls will be elbow to elbow if it is anything like meets of the past.

Ran the B&O RDC for a while yesterday. Sweet little engine.  I think I am gong to go back and get the sound board for the Beep from the guy who sold me the RDC.  I wonder if they make a sond board for the RDC.  Will have to do some internet research as well as some shoe leather research.

Have a great day.

Morning all,

On night shift and hope you al are sleeping well.

I envy you guys going to York.  I can't imagine what it must be like.

Mel Congrats on getting published!  Welcome to the club!!!

Don-Things are fairly quiet.  I hope our buddies in York are behaving.

Well the garage addition project is now waiting on concrete.  Should pour concrete Monday or Tuesday.  That will hit my shifts just right where I can keep the pad wet for several days the help cure the concrete.  After that start my long stretch, the off 7 straight days.  Hope to get it framed up during that break.

Was looking at the layout figuring where to put Gabe and the crane.  I'm thinking move the water tower and put Gabe there, move the pond and put the crane there.  What do you think about if I would put a second 785 coaler next to the one that is there.  Would that look OK in you opinion?

Sleep well, may God bless

Sure not any activity here tonight.  Last post at 6:44 pm ?????  Guess because Chief's in Lousyana, (intended humor), all the Yorkies are either soaking their feet, or breaking open piggy banks.  That leaves the Ohizians....... only can figure if no one is mustering them, they can't think of much to talk about.

So that leaves us out here on the left coast.  A rather boring day, no reported earthquakes, tunnel fires, major truck accidents, dust storms, range and brush fires, nothing....  Just a quiet day in paradise.  Didn't even see any riots. Or, major crimes anywhere.  Work was even slow!  Geez, I wonder if this is all due to York ??  The other forums are even quiet.

Been studying how I'm going to wire up switches this weekend.  I am going to attempt hooking them up to the DCS AIU, and the remote button in parallel.  Have a total of 23 switches, 4 of them will be hooked together so they activate at the same time.  (2 sets or 2 each).  They accomodate transferring from track A to B.  Since I only have 1 AIU, which will accomodate 10 switches, will also connect 8 other switches to the AIU.  (Primary or mainline switches.)  These switches will also be wired so that pressing a button on the Control Panel will activate them.  (Bob Nielson had a great idea I plan on implementing, and that is mounting a stud or screw head in the control panel, and have a probe wired to ground.  Then simply touch the probe to the screw head and it activates.  However I don't have the necessary LEDs to install for monitoring switch position, and I'm not sure what control panel design I will be using.  Therefore,k will use the provide buttons for now.  Hopefully, will get a 2nd AIU for Christmas, leaving hints all over.  Like, "HEY !  Anybody want to know what I want for Christmas?"  Chris is getting the idea.

Ourclub is having an Open House this week-end, going to try and get down there on Sunday.  Need to get haircut, mow FIL's lawn, our lawn, and trip to LHS.  Busy day.

Going to stop with this rambling, but doubt that it matters much.... Nobody Is Out There Anyway !!

EVENING, just thought I'd say goodnite.

Brutus- I had time to take a good look at the BFOC today and I don't know,it seems like a lot $ for so little. Very nice detailing though. But like most things;if you like it. Thats my thing about the Hogwarts I always wanted a british style engine and this set would be nicer with upgrades but it's got to be priced for parents to buy. so there we are. We go with what is offered. Would an ice cream cone make you feel better? My treat.         nity-nite,,,,,,,,Sir James
