Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is 38 degrees, Light rain. Going up to 48 today with a few light rain showers. Warming up. Snow is almost all gone.

Today, is a relaxing day. Have a few light chores to do, and then I plan on watching the NASCAR race on TV.  I took some pictures of the trains running on the new bridges and will post them later on the Sunday Photo Fun. Still have a lot of work to do with scenery. Need to paint some wood items to look like concrete.  Layout is getting big.

Dining Car has  arrived. No stops at " points west ". I'll send it back after breakfast. Late sleepers.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Chuck

Good morning from Gettysburg.  Currently it is 32 degrees. The forecasters are calling for a mixed bag of precip with snow, sleet, freezing rain and ice.  We are to get an inch or more of snow topped with up to a half an inch of ice.  Let's hope the prognisticators are wrong.

Take care,

Mitch

nick you and john may want to consider a shelf layout around the room about 6" - 7" (15 - 18 mm) down from the celing. I hope when I finally make my layout that I have one about 10" (25mm) from the celing to set up and run my standard gauge set.

Morning all not much happening today going over to the LHS to wire up some things for his layout while hes at a train show in baltimore. (nice having your own key lol)

light rain right now there calling for a rain/ice mix possible today nothin to really worry about as its going to be around 35 - 40 today so it'll melt right away.

Good Morning from Iowa,

The good news is we have electricity, the bad news is there are 150,000 homes without electricity.  Crews from other states are on there way to help out.  We have about 6" of new snow (after 1" of rain/ice) and will get about another 2" before the storm abates, the snow is extremely heavy and wet.  It is beautiful outside and I hope to take some pics after breakfast, I have never seen our trees like this.

Jon,

These were taken at Christmas 2004 after the ice hit.  We were without power for four days.  Over 250,000 home in Ohio were without power.

Do not know what kind of software this computer is running.  Bet it is 7.0  Hit the quote and uckeye's picture and last lines showed up.  Where not in the original download.  Also have to watch it.  Keep jumping to bold [I think that is CTT problem].  Can be typing and suddenly get blank page.  Click on the margin just above the screen displayed and get your post back.  ????

Off to store.  Suppose to get TStorms today.  If as slow as yesterday, will be earlier than plan.  If get busy, will stay until late.

Jon, glad you made it through with electricty.  Stay warm.

Waiting for big storm to hit got to go to store for milk and bread.  Don't know why but everyone does?  At least they don't say go to store and get milk and GRITS?

Great time at the ALLENTOWN show yesterday.  Pick up a WWII Priest Vehicle from BOB GELLER at GELLER TRAINS.  Nice detail om flat car with wood deck and chains.  Will post pick later?  And some pepole for town along with some lit billboards.  All and all lots o people with about 600+ tables seemed like a mini YORK.  Brother got a B unit for his FT set foe $60 from CHARLIE RO.  Buddy of mine picked up some lit cabooses and reading cars.  Had great time.   Then took all our wives out, they were shopping at MACEYs, to the TALLY HO resturante in Bethlehem.  Good food good drink and lots o laughter.  Got home at 9 PM ran trains for everyone for about 30 minutes, all had fun.

  Have a good one.

Rt, Thats a good idea, I saw a train room on a TM video with a round the ceiling loop. I am lucky as I am planning to build a gamesroom to contain a 16 x 8 foot layout.

Took the plunge today and Pre-ordered a Williams Scale NYC Hudson and madison cars. Can't afford a Lionel one and people only have good things to say about Williams Trains. Takes a leap of faith though as the nearest Williams dealer is 3000 miles awayBlindfold [X-)]

Have a good Sunday all

Nick 12 DMC - you won't be disappointed with Willams and they have a liftime warranty.

It's really snowing here.  Big flakes so it may be getting ready to turn to rain. Family was supposed to come to Celtic Music Show(Bonnie Rideout and Caledonia) at Gettysburg Majestic Theater today.  Theater has no refund policy and is not cancelling, but family is not driving 1.5 hours in snow and ice so there goes that $$$ down the drain.  No more winter shows at the Majestic for us....

Mitch--

I understand your frustration, the theatre where I work part time as a manager has the same policy.  Here's the typical situation: most touring show's "rent" the theatre, promote the show and receive all of the gate.  The theatre get's their money up front (rent) and concessions and provides the house staff for the show.  The cast is always in town and is probably staying within walking distance, that's why the show will always go on whether there's two people or 2735 in the audience.  If the show doesn't happen, the cast doesn't receive the gate.  It's a bad deal for the guest and it I'll bet it clearly says on the ticket, no refunds.  This is not a day you want to be the ticket office manager or the house manager, been there/done that.  I'm wondering if some day we will buy ticket insurance like cruise insurance.

On a brighter note I just finished plowing the driveway and it's beautiful outside.  Pic's later.

I wish the management would use the software that 'The Gauge uses'.  You can see all of the posts in a thread as you type your response.  Great for us old forgetful geezers.

Along with that memory problem, how about everyone who is coming to the "Lunch with the Chief" send me an email to let me know for shore.  I have started a list.  If your name isn't in your profile, please include that also.

Laz, Nice haul from Allentown.

The ugly weather has settled in here.  Still snowing, I hope it stays that way.
