88 - nice area, former B & O town.  I believe there's a pharmacy in the old station building.  Tough commute to B'more from there, yikes!  Appreciate the Beemer ride, but if I go I will be with another buddy of mine.  Thanks just the same.

fife,
No problem.

The commute to work isn't bad as I work on Security Blvd... large office building complex along 70... if you know where I mean?  Will only be 30 minutes or so, much better than the 1 hour commute I have now.

That wouldn't happen to be at social security?  Used to live down Mountain Rd. in Pasadena, neighbor worked at SSA.  Our daughter still lives in Elkridge.  We get up there at least once a year.

RE: layout for client.  Finally totally operational and debugged.  He's finally cleaning up the room, hanging pictures and for the first time left the engines on the layout when I left.  With a little instruction he's done a pretty good job of land scaping.  I still have a couple of buildings to finish designing and scratchbuiding but nothing to stop him from running trains other than self confidence.

Fighting this cold.  Got to get moving early tomrrow.  Geroge W coming to RDU and then north to ajoining county.  Close everything at airport [have to get rental car] down before he gets here and before he leaves.  They think that other folks don't count.  Seen this over and over.  We wish he would stay out of NC. Wish he would stay in DC.  Or better, send him back to Texas.  They love him.  Thought one time he might come through Roseyville.  If so, was going to tell the police chief to block the highway.  Let him through when he said he would give funds to do the by-pass [as its a US route]. Shock [:O]

Felt too bad to run trains.  Sat and slept while train DVDs were were on.  Fewels like pressure on my bre ast bone [d--n software will not let you type bre ast, putws in ****Disapprove [V]].  Wife wanted to know if it was heart.  Said no but could be pneumoina.  Just not coughing that much.

Later.

You need to stop & smell the Roses every now & then instead of planting them. So to speak, Congrats on the House Hunt Lionroar!  Reggie- A railroad job may be just the thing for you. That jsut might do it.  But if the wife caught me, I'd really be in worse shape. Dead [xx(]

Good evening,

Hope I can remember at least a little of what I just read on 3 pages.

MAP, I will work on that over the weekend and post.

88, Congrats on the new house.

Chief, Get some rest and let things ride a little.  Of course you will be off traveling again tomorrow, but try to take it a little easy.  That shot should help a little. Smile [:)]Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]Big Smile [:D]Whistling [:-^]

Found a package when I got home today.

A Lehigh & New England Beep from Jeff Trenholm at Mega-Steam.  He had a special run done of these.  It is pulling two diecast hoppers and a heavy MTH caboose.  Real nice slow speed operation.  I am going to add TMCC to it.

Reggie, They had someone on TV from Union Pacific a while back and they said they were going to be hiring for the next 10 years as a lot of their current employees will be retiring during that time.  Also will be adding addional people.

Reggie, you are the 2nd person I have heard of that used to play football professionaly. I used to work witha guy named Ron Carter said he played for the Detroit Lions. He was built like a football player as wide as he was tall but not fat. Not many get say they made it to the pros in sports. Good luck with finding a new carrer, I am looking for work myself perferably something part time permanet in the electronics field. I just finnished a B.S. Degree in technical management in June. You may want to try some more colledge as well. Online courses are great.

i graduated from the university of alabama in may of 2002. with a b.s. in human environmental sciences. took me four years year round to do so. i dont think i will be returning to school to pursue a masters. my thing is they say you dont have enough experience to get the job with a b.s.. so you go back to school and get a masters. you reapply for the same job in a few years and then they tell you you have to much experience. so you are in a win loose situation from the start. my thing is its not about what you know its who you know in this world. because there are people out there who dont even have degrees in the field they work in but get the job anyways because the mom/dad knows the owner of the company they are trying to work for. now do you think this is fair for the person who payed for school to get a degree and not get the job. i witnessed this with my older brother. but not all things are fair in life. as for i was released from the bengals for getting into a fight with a teammate. now i was released and they kept him to the end of the year. the reason they kept him is because he played for the head coach on another team and there was favoratism. which goes to say its about who you and not what you know.

Evening all from sunny and mild San Antonio, Texas - home of the ALAMO and birthplace (well one of them) of the Republic of Texas.

Chief - get better soon.

Not much to report - sitting in meetings all day. They did provide breakfast and lunch.

Reggie and CSXest - good luck on those job searches.

Mitch,
Sounds good... I think Fife bailed on us though! Wink [;)]

Fife should be receiving the TCA app today, as soon as I get it back from him can you either meet up or I could mail?  If mail, send me your address via the email link below.

- snow and ice are melting in Northern Maryland -
- no flooding concerns -
- it is nice because the wells at the new house are getting recharged -

Chief, I'm moving to Mt. Airy, MD, not Mt. Airy, NC.  Back when I graduated from college I had the opportunity to take a job at Wachovia in Winston-Salem, NC.  My fiance (soon to be wife, later ex-wife), refused to move so we ended up staying in Pittsburgh.  As they say, all things happen for a reason, but I still wish I had taken that job!

- 0-8-0 update -
Stopped by the LHS yesterday as I got a call that the 0-8-0 was 'done'.  Stopped in and the trainsounds sound a bit better, but they are by no means great.  So now I have a dilemma... do I leave the engine as is with crappy sounds, no TMCC, fan driven smoke, and wireless teather, or do I replace all the electronics, except the fan driven smoke, with ERR upgrades?  I would lose the wireless teather... Wonder if the Sound Commander would be a dropin replacement for the trainsounds board?  Paid $359.00 for this engine and I'm a bit miffed that Lionel put in crappy sounds... Disapprove [V]

Well I better sign in to school and do some work if I want to get this course off to a good start!

Morning all.  Would rest a while but got to go to airport before El Presidenta gets here or I'll be sitting in traffic for hours.  Feel like Censored [censored].  Slept pretty good.  Get to Myrtle Beach, setup and go to hotel room.  Tomorrow and Saturday are the big days.  Warm and foggy.  73 yesterday [tied record] and 70 today.  Turning cooler.  Have a good one.

Good morning from New England.

A little rain and snow headed this way today.

We ran a very long freight train last night pulled by our Williams 671 turbine. That engine pulled those cars like they weren't even there! What a brute!

Feel Better, Chief! And have a good trip.

Time for a cup of tea. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning all,

It is sunny with temps in the 30s today in SE Indiana.  My back is some better.  I stayed home yesterday and did not even get on the computer.  I will catch up on the posts I missed later.  I better send the dining car to "Points East" before they run out of food.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' CHIEF.  Don't kiss me today big guy.

88 - Congrats on the 13 x 18 layout with roof on top!  What side of the town are you on, Frederick or Carroll?  Can you catch a glimpse of CSX from your back door?  Are you near Twin Arch Road (possible modeling idea, go check it out).  Mount Airy Cold Storage (french fry packing plant) usually parks an old SW1 on their siding.  30 minute commute, not bad, but if there's a hiccup on 70 you'll feel the pain.  There is a backroad from Ellicott City west.  If you and the Misses like fancy eats, try BALDWIN's in Sykesville (just don't take a big appetite, take a tie).  I think Purkeys Trains is in that area as well.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a foggy 32 degrees. Snow has almost all melted. Going up to a warmer 46 today. Maybe rain later.

Today, I have a few things to do around the house, and then I will go down to the train room to spend a couple hours working on the layout. I would like to run trains and hook up some track for the bridges. I need to do some cleaning up of tools, also.

Chief....Have a safe trip and get rid of that cold.

Here it is....The Dining Car. Plenty left for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.
