Morning to All,

Brrrrr.  19 degrees outside, supposed to warm up over the weekend.  Hope it will melt the driveway and get rid of what came down after I finished with the snow blower.  Not enough to fire up the snowlower again, but enough to cover the pavement and make walking down to get the newspaper a dicey trek.  Good thing the driveway is not too steep.

Better get going.  Got to go to work and interview a young lady who is finishing p her student teaching. Then will leave work about 9:30 and head home to make the trip to Sight & Sound.

Take care,

Mitch

CSXect... I don't know how you do it!  How much have you lost so far?  I need to shed 10 lbs, and in all honesty all I really need to do is become more active, walk, workout, anything to get my stagnant body in action.  The master bathroom remodel helped shed 6 lbs, so I guess it helped there too.

BTW - Congrats on what you've accomplished so far!

Chief - Becareful my friend... Susan has an Uncle that is very overweight.  His doctors told him he has to lose 125lbs or he is going to die.  Last year when he came up for Susan's Mom's funeral was the first time I saw him, when we were down for Susan's Uncle Funeral (not the same guy) he looked to be a bit thinner, hopefully he can get it all off, nice fella.

Susan's going to be quite upset with me when she gets home tonight.  I was supposed to have the bathroom nearly complete, but I haven't worked on it. Wednesday we had the big snow and yesterday I put some garland up on the mantle, dusted the family room, moved the CD tower to the basement, and vacuumed - so maybe she won't be too mad! Confused [%-)] Have to stop at the LHS to pick up the rest of the track for the Christmas layout.  I don't think I'll have it ready for under the tree this year, so it will just stay in the trainroom till I'm ready to start the main layout.  Track I got isn't enough to get started on the main layout...

Good morning all,

It is cold again in SE Indiana.  Train show starts Saturday at historical society.  Got my standard gauge switches (210s) that I won off eBay.  My wife was not too impressed until I told her they were originally made in the 1920s or 30s.  I hope to test them out soon.  I went to bed early and got a good rest.  Just the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Greetings from beautiful Ohio, where it is 28 degrees and snowing.  I'm heading out to shovel the driveway and sidewalks.

Just returned from a road trip to Joplin, MO.

Chief, the used Ohio National Guard scarlet and gray uniforms, are heading your way.  BTW, I need several parking tickets fixed and could you as Mayor help me get my welfare checks increased so I have more money.  With all I did to help you get elected, it is the least you can do for me. Mornin' boys. For weather in the Mid-Atlantic region, see mitchieSign - Ditto [#ditto].

THIS JUST IN...

DATELINE - Fifedog's house somewhere in the MD burbs

Another "salvo" has been fired in the laundry wars.  Apparently one of the princesses had a short memory the night before, and again pulled out an obscene pile of towels, put it to the side, and proceeded to due their laundry.Banged Head [banghead]  So, while the father figure was outside venting his frustrations while shoveling the driveway, almost like the GRINCH, (narate like Boris Karloff if you will) he got a wonderful awful idea!  He dashed down the cellar, and went to the dryer, pulled out some select pieces of the princesses' attire.  Then out to the front lawn to finish his plot, he filled their hip-huggers, designer form-fitters, and frilly sling-shots.  And when he was done he looked in aw at his feat, for there were two snow princesses to greet the high-school bus near the street.

Just in case you were wondering, there was no return volley, for the father figure hid fifey's titey-whities.

All have a good day.

Buckeye... LOL! YEAH RIGHT! I was looking at those and then I got to thinking... DO I REALLY VALUE MY LIFE?.... Opted for the Ski Pants... especially after I asked her if she would like something like that and she said, 'Depends on what they look like' I took this to mean, 'Anything that makes me look like a dorky person... no' The skipants I ordered are actually kind of nice looking for women... I did order a pair of Thinsulate Lined Gore-Tex gloves.  They have the Thinsulate Fleece lining with Gore-Tex shell, you can put a hand warmer between the lining and shell to help keep your hands warm...

Morning Y'all!

For the weather, check Rich's post, same here.  I tried posting a few minutes ago, but this computor is giving me fits.  Anyway, Got lots to do this weekend.  I am on call, so hopefully they will leave me alone long enough to get some work done.  The honey do list is extensive.  Got to bale pine straw, rake old PS out of beds and replace with baled.  Then I have bushes to trim and trees to cut down.

I also have a few chores inside, so again, I hope they leave me alone so that I can take care of these items and get some trains in.  Getting ready for the inlaws to visit.  Anyway, I hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

Good Morning !

First, Happy Pearl Harbor Day!  Its hard to imagine the sacrifice our parents/relatives/friends mad during those trying times.  We are certainly blessed to have been born when we were!

Second, I want to thank everyone for all the comments regarding Chris.  Yep, I'm extremely proud of him.  Just wish we would have been blessed with more.

Rainy weekend coming up = train room work!  Got the phanthom Big Boy back, we had a brief celebration, and a couple of drinks,  I had "high balls".  Thought may have gotton the memory module with it, but didn't.  Now just waiting for the Legacy.

Tonight is "Bunco" night!  (12 women meet monthly and play this dice game).  So got everything "looking good" in the train room.  May go play pool tonight.  Did have a minor situation come about, the side rods on our 0-4-0 switcher came undone.  So need to see about getting that taken care of tonight.

CSXect - Your really doing great!  Lots of admiration your way.  Keep it up, no cheating!

Fife - Your REALLY going to get in a lot of trouble!  I can see it coming!  You'll loose the wifes support on this real soon, be careful!!  You may find your titey-whities sprayed with a strange powder or other uncomfortable substance!  Payback can be tough, once you loose the full support.  I cant imagine you could get very much snow in the frilley things and sling-shots. Laugh [(-D]

The morning national NEWS on NBC, just did a thing about the "pounding" the west coast is getting, 40 foot waves, mud slides, thousands or rescues.........  I sure don't know where they are getting the information!!  The local news announced 15 minutes ago the "worst" is over, approximately .5-1.5 inches in rain overnight.  No rescues, maximum 12 foot waves, everything normal.  Anyway the mudslides may not occur for as long as a week or even a month from now as the water seeps into the ground.

Chief - Now that the mayoral office has been achieved, what are the next political ambitions?  Or, is Roseyville going to be undergoing changes as a result the new management?

Thanks again for all the comments,  and hope everyone has a great day and wonderful weekend!!

Chief for President! There's still time to form a nominating committee in Illinois at least.

Good morning from a cold and grey Pearl Harbor Day in Crystal Lake, where I spent a delightful hour shoveling the driveway very early - a good workout. Just enough snow fell last night to slop things up - glad I'm not going to the office today. It got down to 0 degrees last eve - earliest 0 in years - so much for global warming. Last night after church services, the elders updated us a bit about our pastor transition - he's leaving at the end of the month.

I hope to work on the layout later - got some Christmas parties tonight for volunteers at church.

It was magic corn that made the reindeer fly. One of the last things the Winter Warlock had in his pockets.

Just completed cleaning the driveway, the walk to the house and about 600 feet of sidewalk of white powdery clean snow.  Wow!  What a great life we have here in Buckeyeland.  If I had time today, I would put the trains on the track outside and sit out there and drink some hot adult beverages.

fife - Most homeless people, as you will be in a couple hours, bring their own blankets to the shelter.  Laugh [(-D]

If we are going to nominate the Chief for President, we will need a Northerner to balance the ticket.  Someone that is sane would be a good starting point.  Someone that doesn't let fruits and nuts bother him.  Ah!! Doug, not the grump, sounds like the ideal candidate.  Of course, Laz is the Secretary of Defense and Doug Murphy will be the Secretary of Transportation, since he rides the train everyday to work.

Chief - I have completed my list of items that you need to do in the first 100 days for Roseyville:

  1. Pave the streets.
  2. Install running water.
  3. Enforce the one outhouse per family law.
  4. Enforce the one junk car on blocks per owner law.
  5. Ban the use of shotguns as a truck hood ornament.
  6. Increase the fine for missing the public spittoons.
  7. Buy the fire department a truck with ladders and hoses.
  8. Trade in the Ford Falcon Police car.
  9. Install electricity in City Hall.
  10. Remove the hog feeders from the city park.

You will be re-elected for sure.  Speaking of re-election, we need to get started on your next campaign.

Overnight low of 54, now 63 in Jacksonville, FL. Madge came home from an overnight sleep test and asked at 8:00 A.M. if she could buy a Christmas tree. Our first in 3 or 4 years as we are not usually in town after Christmas Day. After a half hour search of the disaster area-garage-found a tree stand but trunk of tree was too big too fit in the ring. An hour later with much trimming with an electric saw got the tree into the stand. Then another half hour to finagle it to make it stand up. Now in the house. Not where Madge wanted it but I think it will do. First set of exams were fine. Final grades: 8 A's, 1 B, 4 C's, 2 D's, 1 F, and 1 FN for quitting class without filing withdrawal form in time. Just hope Tuesday class and tomorrow's class do half as well. Trains still on back burner as my ambition has got up and went.

Buckeye - Ironic you came up with that list.  While I was looking at another forum, I thought of a solution to a repetitive problem we have out here, and an opportunity for the Chief.

If he would initiate a "Grits Exclusive Export Program" GEEPs, he could enhance the NC economy, improve the culinary base, and resolve the continuing California stability problems.  Since the Chief has such influence with the NS, they could export the grits out here.  We could cover the hillsides and desolate areas with them.  That would be an immediate resolution to the fire, and mudslide problems.  It would also add significant stabilization in the event of earthquakes.  The only downside would be the inevitable smell.  But, there arn't that many people out there anyway.  And the folks in 'Bakersfield, would feel right at home.

I am on a medically prescribed diet meaning to use the optifast weightloss shakes you have to be under the care of a doctor and a nutritionist. I eat no food which was hard at first but you kinda get full on 6 shakes aday and the 64oz of water per day, water is a key component to the diet it fills you up so you do not eat as much also the first few weeks of the diet for most men you can lose double digits as most of the weight is water for women it is a little harder to get the same results. Optifast is made by the same people who make Benifiber which you need to use on this diet to keep regular. I have tappered off to 1 or 2 pounds per week will have the offical weight on monday as that is when I check in. The great thing about this diet the doctor part is covered by most insurance company, you only pay out of pocket for the drinks.

As for how I do it, I got tired of not fitting into booths at resturants and checking chairs to see if they are sturdy enough to hold me, And then there is the problem of steeringwheel in my Trans Am resting on my gut. I had a major wakeup call when I became dieabetic, have been taken off of one dieabetic med so farBig Smile [:D]

Buckeye & Don....Just need to get Paula Dean in there (for the grits chef) and he's a slam dunk.

CSXect...Look at it this way...for every 100 lbs gone from the Trans Am, it's good for another tenth in quarter mile!!!  That would be good enough reason for me!!! (of course, I'm a sick individual anyhow, go fast or go home...Whistling [:-^]Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Good job on the weight loss.  You'll make it and feel better, too!!

Sounds like the voice of experience, I wonder if that is a pre-programmed statement.  Seems to be automatic at this time of the year.  My only issues are --- Don't buy me clothes, I will get my own, no candy, just flowers and jewelry.

Well tomarrow Saturday the 8th is a train show at Lausche Building Ohio State fairgrounds in columbus 9am -4pm

then on Sunday the 9th is the TTOS show at the Franklin County fairgrounds in hillard ohio 11am-4pm.

Have a lot of extra energy and no outlet for it.....I could tackel the hopper kit from redball I bought a few years ago.

Don't know if I will be at show on saturday as that is the shopping day to stock up on food(that I can not have) and other household supplies and the church is having a cookie walk different from cake walk...you walk around and see what cookies you want.....sounds more like a bake sale, they also have some stuff that was donated for a silent auction may check that out never know what you may find.
