My wife says : "We are all nuts ", but we're havin' fun.
MARTY,
Enjoy your weekend. No work this weekend, are you doing Super Bowl? Have fun at Kodiak Junction, hope there are no PILE UPS.
Morning all... Got home last evening. Slept late today and hope to convince myself to workout later. I've been missing quite a few because of work. Looking at the new Lionel catalog on line. Probably order those K-Line Pullman cars for my CC Hudson. Nothing jumping at me but I would like to get a Legacy engine so I'll take a close look at the heritage engines.
I think all in all they are a couple good catalogs.
I'm definitely running some trains tonight though. Take care all.
Jim,
It's more fun to chat with other people's wives online. Keeps life spicey!!
Modeling the Baltimore waterfront in HO scale
Hello all,
Cold and overcast. I'll need to fire up the kerosen heater in the garage today! My wife asked the other day if I would chat with her on line like we do here, and I said Will it be about trains???, I did not get any brownie points for that one.
Babies and little kids are so cute, the ages of puberty is when things get exciting!
Buckeye, be careful down there, if you get lost at the river I'll build a bonfire on the north side where I go catfishing, chicken livers and grits for bait.
Jim
Chief, looks great! We have some old Trident Missle silos just down the road a piece from here. They were really active when Mr. Kennedy had his tift with the Russians over a little island off the coast of Florida back in the early 60s.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Dennis
PS: I think I am going to order one each of the "It's a Boy/Girl" cars from the K-Line catalog and put my kids information on them I had wanted these back when they were first part of our family, but they were hard to come by for awhile.

Jim A- I sure will pre-order that new Tinplate Passenger set. Someone on another forum claims that the original can be had in prinstine condition for around " $400.00" Yeah right! I've got a Bridge in Brooklyn to sell him also. & some Swamp Land in Roseyville to sweeten the deal I don't get it. Here is a New Set with a Warranty, No dents, scratches, broken parts, warped castings & with new boxes to boot! The $629.00 is only a suggested retail price as many will be sold for less than that anyway & Gryzboski's in Scranton & The Trading Post in Cleveland sell New Lionel for less than MSRP. In mint Condition with all of its boxes & everything else it came with a original 246E Passenger Set would sell for much more than a reproduction ever would. I've seen the passenger cars for sale at Train Shows for $100.00 or more each & the scratches, rust,& dents are thrown in for free. The 262E Engines usually go for around $300.00 or more depending on condition. You Can get them for less. However they would have to be a basket case & by the time you buy all of the parts you would need to replace the broken, damaged,or missing parts & possibly re-paint the engine & tender., you could buy yourself a reproduction without all of the above issues. Take Care.
Hey Pottymouth, My missile is bigger than yours!
And that's a fact, Jack!!
Morning gang. My wife could not get over me visiting folks I had never met. "Aren't you worried about these folks?" "No Dear, they play with trains not chains."
Cold as a Yankee's tit [or is a witch's, what the difference] here this AM. High in the 30's!!!!
Guys, you have never really looked at my layout pictures. So I will move this to a spot and photo from a different angle. It was on the carpet layout too. This is what I did in the US Army in 68 and 69. I have an EXPERT Missileman's Badge.
Now Yanks, talk your junk.
Have a good one.
Doug,
My wife is the same way regarding this forum. She almost freaked the first time the Chief came for a visit. I had to explain to her that we are too old and dorky to do any serious trouble making!
Good morning from a frigid Chicago where I am hoping the workday is quiet. I screwed up something with wiring the semaphore - one of Lionel's 'new' ones - so the light works but not the arm. Oh well. I'll re-do it. Jim A, we got home from church in time to watch two helpings of The Office. My bride loves that show - probably because she's never worked in such an office. I have - and still do (can't wait for the latest diversity task force report to blame me for something) so sometimes find it painful to watch which the bride doesn't understand. Jim F, she also doesn't understand why I share with her goings-on highlighted in this thread - 'let me get this straight - you've never actually met these guys and you talk about toy trains all day' -- yep, they're still friends...
Welcome Jim H!

Keith,
You must be anticipating that new prewar celebration passenger set. If it was half the price, I'd be all over it!
I think he calls it his "mission cammand post", but I'm not sure. It reminds me or NORAD a little, but just not as big of a setup. He uses large LCD screens instread of projectors, so he can save some space. He usually keeps one screen on the Chief, one on the weather channel, and one on the Dosenberg at all times. I probably would too as all are pretty important.
Wes
Morning everyone,
It's colder out than a ....let's just say it's cold!
I'm taking a half day off work today to head to Ohio to see Buckeye and his wife and then we are off to the Blue Jackets/Sabres game. We are really looking forward to this visit. I hope when I'm at Buckeye's I get to see the control room where the F-15's are sent to Roseyville. I think there is even a satellite link to pictures of Chief's backyard. It also has a laser that vaporizes grits.
Have a good day.

There's probably a missile silo under the Rosyville watertower, I think the president has seen your posts on the new layout, and has stepped up protection. There's a lot of freight going through there.

The new Kline catalogue looks great! 'It's a Girl'; metal wheels and trucks, operating couplers $25?, that's a no brainer!
This really confuses the Christmas list I just made up..Lionel has a LOT of really great stuff!
I was perfectly content to find inexpensive good condition PW pieces, until I met you guys.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 16 degrees outside. No new snow. Going up to only 32 today. We are not suppose to get any more snow for the next two days. Looks good for trip North, tomorrow.
Today is a " keep warm " day. Have a few things to do around the house and then, later, will run trains. Still working on new section. That's bigger than I expected. Need a lot of room for two large bridges. Have to make a section for passenger station. Should come out good.
Well, the Dining Car has arrived. Looks like some folks " points west" have already eaten. Plenty left for breakfast. Be back later.
Y'all have a great Friday.

Morning guys(and Gals-want to include Lisa in this),
A little brisk this morning.. Took the trash out in my shorts, I don't think I want to be out there too long. I hope I will be getting one of the Watchman's Shanty(s) on the bay this morning. The guy has 6 and 2 others have bid on them also. I am glad that Lionel is selling them, but the bright yellow paint looks a bit loud. If I don't get one of these, I will get the Lionel job and paint it.
