Good morning all,

It is sunny and cold in SE Indiana, but the temps are supposed to rise to the high 30s today.  Tmcc man, I have not played any indoor soccer yet, but I hope to be doing so soon.   I have been kicking the ball around when I go to the YMCA, but I have yet to get into any pickup games.  Regarding the F-15s in North Carolina, those are from the Indiana National Guard patroling the flight path for the Colts going down to Miami for the Super Bowl :-).  Time for the dining car to head for "Points East".  We have to keep our "spotter" well nourished so he can guide our planes over NC.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Got ya beat Laz... 5 degree according to the bimmer temp and the weather station in the kitchen!

Started the car this morning and it told me to go back inside and come back when it warms up!

Supposed to get to a high around 25 today, 45 tomorrow chance of flurries tomorrow night...

Finished the TAS EOB upgrade to the berk last night, put the engine on the track and it responded like I hadn't done a thing!  Lovely!  So I took the shell off (I know the railings are the antenae), and everything was responding like the TAS instructions, except the engine still took off like a rocket!  So I fiddled with it a bit and nothing worked, the TMCC didn't even respond to the codes the instructions said to enter, reset the engine to factory settings and tried again, same results.  After 2 hours I took the EOB upgrade out and am now back to a standard TMCC install... Well there is $109.00 out the door!Disapprove [V]Banged Head [banghead]

Oh well... maybe I'll have better luck with an ERR board.

Also I did some testing on the 0-8-0's sounds last night - I suspect I have a blown speaker.  I am going to call the LHS today and see if there is a way to test this or if I should just bring it in for warranty service...

Stopped by the LHS yesterday, still no Lionel or K-Line Catalogs. Sad [:(]  But I did pick up a few cars!  Bought a Lionel C&O Quad Hopper (scale so it looks nice behind the 0-8-0 but it is about the same size as the Berk! Smile [:)], MTH C&O woodsided hopper, will look nice behind the berk, a Patapsco River and something or other barrel car by Williams - talk about BRIGHT ORANGE need to wear Cool [8D] when it is out of the box.  And a scale MTH Western Maryland Boxcar, again will look nice behind the 0-8-0, also have a Chevy Double Door boxcar and a UP Double Door Boxcar so that should make a nice start to a scale consist for the 0-8-0.

Good morning from a frigid New England. The temp was 0 on the ride in to work today, but the windchill is -20! So what do I see as I pass a gas station today? Some idiot pumping gas in a t-shirt and shorts!

The wife was home last night, so not a lot of train running happened.  We watched This Old House and Gray's Anatomy. UGLY Betty was on but we didn't catch it. I'll bet I know someone who did . . .

F-15s over Roseyville? Must be looking for a new target area. I hope that new layout in Chief's attic can withstand a Stinger missile!

Doug M. - David's article was on scratchbuilding a switch stand/target. A five star piece!

Hope to pick up the Lionel and K-Line cats this weekend!!!!!!!

Off to find breakfast and trouble. Have a great day all!

Good morning from a verrrryyyyyyy cold area. It is only 8 degrees out right now. Not the kind of weather that I enjoy. I have my last exam today, and then comes the weekend for some long awaited rest time. I will be finished at 8:35, but will be home around 10:00 because everyone else has 2 exams and the buses come at around 9:45.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Just as I thought !!!  I got a coded message from Wright-Patterson, today and they wanted directions to Roseyville, NC. Seems that it's not on the map. They said they flew over some swamp areas, and saw a lot of junk cars and old bath tubs. I told them that they found it.

Hey Yanks in NJ and near there in PA. Wink [;)]

TRENTON, N.J. - New Jersey has warned squirrel hunters near a toxic waste dump about consuming the critters because they could be contaminated with lead.

It is the first time the state has cautioned Ringwood residents - many who are members of the Ramapough Mountain Indian tribe who hunt and fish in the area - about their squirrel intake, said Tom Slater, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Senior Services.

A lead-contaminated squirrel was found in the area two months ago, prompting the agency, along with the state Department of Environmental Protection, to send out letters advising that adults eat squirrel no more than twice a week and even less for children and pregnant women.

Lead, which is harmful in small amounts, can damage the nervous system, red blood cell production and the kidneys.

"We've known for a long time something was wrong here, we just didn't know what it was," resident Myrtle Van Dunk said.

Residents and many environmental activists believe the lead comes from toxic waste, including paint sludge, dumped in the area by the Ford Motor Co. during the 1960s and early 1970s, from its now-closed car manufacturing plant in Mahwah.

Ford is removing thousands of tons of waste from a 500-acre former mining property in the Ringwood area. The site was recently relisted on the federal Superfund list, a ranking of the country's worst environmental dump sites, after multiple cleanups failed to remove all the sludge.

Good evening,

I just got back from grocery shopping with my mom. Chief, are they sending the 20,000 (I think that's the number?) troops over? If so, I guess that the military is loading up tanks and other supplies to be shipped over. They are probably going to be loaded on planes at other location.

 Good evening everyone.

Congratulations Kurt!!! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Jim Fortner, You can get those lamps/jewels from Lionel parts dept.  Order extra as they have a habit of falling out.

Chief, It sure sounds like you should not lack for power on the layout.

We are going to a birthday party for our soon to be 4 year old granddaughter tomorrow evening.  Jean is making her a TRAIN cake.  I will post a picture, if I don't forget, when it is done.  BTW our local library now loans out Wilton cake pans, just like books.  She did a butterfly for another granddaughter a while back.

It is to be a real cold one tonight, may get to single digits.

Stay warm eveyone,

Evening all.  Busy day today too.  Went outside and filled around the holes drilled for conduit with mortar repair in a caulking tube.  Good stuff.  ITs mortar with something added.  Then got on ladder and batched some cracks in the mortar in this 67 year old house.  Wind got to really blowing and turned cold.  Came in for lunch at 1.  Got to trainroom at 2.  Rewired all the track sections.  Each loop and all the sidings are on the flush binding posts.  Each loops has its own PW ZW and the sidings combined on a PW ZW.  Switch power and accessories [all two I have going right now] are on a KW.

Are we at war?  I've got F15's constantly flying in what is commercial air space.  Been coming over for an hour or so now.   We have a military air corridor over Roslesville but ehse are flying slow in what the commercial airliners use.  HUMMM

Reggie and wife, good luck on that delivery.

Time to eat.
