Well, while watching Emperor Of The North & running trains & computing on the computer, I looked over on the layout, and what did I see going by my new signal bridge ? !! The two Superheroes making their rounds !!
Thanks, John
Buckeye - gosh - six track pins! - that's double what she suggested last year!
I anxiously await my copy of MS VISTA which was included in the price of the new laptop I bought for my business in Dec. I have to use it as the new laptop came with MS XP Media Center Edition and XP MCE (unlike XP Home) will not allow connection of MS Outlook into a corporate MS Outlook Exchange server. From what I have seen - VISTA offers nothing but a new user experience (read that pain in netheregions) and no option to have a "classic" view.
Good to see some of our newer posters like Lisa signing in on the 'Pot regularly.
Regards, Roy

She suggested that six track pins would be appropriate or an unlighted lockon. See ya down the tracks,

BUCKEYE maybe a six pack wins instead of pins? Always good for your birthday.

Good morning from Dallas where it is 33 degrees, sleeting and snowing. Supposed to get to 42-45 today - so no accumulation if the weatherpersons are to be believed.
Good news from the foundation engineer - it is within 0.2 inches of where it was over 10 years ago. The recent moisture lifted the rear of the house back to where it was previously. The bad news is the two trees in the front yard are affecting the center of the house (previous not-to-bright owners planted them within 10 feet of the house) and need to be taken out. Looks like it will be a busy spring here.
Have a great day all!
Stay warm, Doug!!

Well, that's when my new Atlas steamer should be coming !! The race is on, Buddy !!
With Lionel and MTH seems to be the case all the time.
Morning all,
I have a question here, but will post a new thread about. I am interested in getting the Greenberg's guide to repair modern era lionel trains. I know this has been out of print for awhile but if anyone has an extra copy they want to sell.... I am game. Perhaps we can convince Kalmbach to publish it again.
Thanks,
Dennis

Jim : yes & I thought I ran across a site for those once & I think they're made by Mabucci . Now I can't find them !! I thought you had a different type motor !!
jaabat wrote: csxt30 wrote: Jim : you got work to do on your starter set !! Yeah. I did run it for a long while the other night and noticed that the motor was hot, which is unusual for this locomotive. It usually runs very cool. I think I might have had it pulling too much, but it never balked. Last night when I ran it, it started running slower and slower. I'll try cleaning it up. There was a lot of leaking smoke fluid along the bottom. If that doesn't fix it, I'll buy a new motor and test my new soldering skills.Jim

Hope it's just something simple, maybe clean & lube or how about brushes ? Chief will probably know just what it needs ! I don't think you need a whole new motor !! Anyway, hope you get er' goin' !!

Good Morning Everyone !! Was out earlier shoveling & cleaning the car off from the about 6 inches or so of snow that fell last night. That was fun !!
Chuck : send the dining car Nawth !!
Hope everyone has a nice day !!
Ours is back up to 2.19 in Delaware, OH. It never got below 1.94 lat week.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It's a cold morning. 14 degrees. Going up to 28 today, with cloudy skies. No call for snow, but more tomorrow.
Today, I am going to Cambridge, to do the grocery shopping. It has to be done. No fun job. Gas dropped to $1.89 a gallon. That's good news. I hope it keeps dropping.
Got a lot of work done on the layout, yesterday. All I have to do is run permanent wires to the back room. Ran a train thru the tracks to check clearances. All looks ok. More work tomorrow.
Dining Car arrived from " points west ". Ready for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
I take it that other trains run fine on that track? I'm just making sure that it isn't a dirty track, or overly dirty contact points on the train.
Good morning all,
It is cold and cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the teens again. Suppose to get more snow tonight (hopefully after I get home). I went to the dentist after work and no cavities again. Congrats to Reggie and his wife on the new little girl. Glad to hear everyone is ok. Good luck with the football career. If Indy still had their indoor team, I would go see you play. I went to the YMCA again, and watched "Veronica Mars". The episode was good, but the previews were really interesting. I got a lot done at work yesterday (finished a big project), and I slept well (for once ) last night. I got some more good news yesterday in that one of the family's favorite drivers, Sarah Fisher, got an Indy ride for this year. My dad saw her set a track record in Winchester a few years ago and thought she had potential back then. I hope everyone has a good day. Almost forgot to send the dining car to "Points East".
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hi GIZ,
17 and about 1.5 inches of snow. First inch + of the season, to get more on Friday?
All have a good one.
Good morning, everyone.
Another nice day here in New England. Seasonably cold, but each day brings us closer to spring.
Some great news and some not so good news last night. The great news - Mr. Brown dropped off a box full of hopper cars last night. The boys went nuts! "Let's run a coal train, Dad"!! Wow!!
I also got to watch several of Jim Barrett's Back Shop videos. They can become addictive in short order! Very well done. Again, wow!
The not so good news - our starter set 4-4-2, our first Lionel seems to have a problem. It's been pulling a 5 car passenger train the last few days with no trouble. Last night it was slowing down noticibly at 15 volts. The little sucker was smokes like an MTH too! This loco is special to me because it was the one that got me interested in toy trains 2 years ago.
Late night here tonight.

John, Thanks for undertaking this monumental task. I am not sure we can repay you for your efforts, but we will raise a pint in your honor!
PS.
Congratulations to Reggie and spouse + .

Manchester is to get a Las-Vegas style casino (the first in the UK), not sure it's a good thing. But as the saying goes "a fool and his money are easily parted". It should bring some work to the area.
Nick, I hope to be at the Ilkley show and given a fair wind and a following sea, sink a couple of pints of Taylors Landlord among good company. The West Riding of Yorkshire was where I spent the first forty-odd years of my life, so it'll be a sort of home-coming.
LIONEL! Where are you?
Congratulations Reggie, looking forward to the pictures !!!

As they say, there is no such thing as a dumb question, SO......I am really curious....
HOW MANY HOURS DOES IT TAKE AN ELECTRICIAN TO PLUG IN A COFFEE POT???
BTW, Good Luck at the Museum, I'm sure you will enjoy the day.
