Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear 22 degrees. Looks like we may get some sun. Going up to 32 today, with maybe a few snow flurries.

Happy B-Day [bday] to RT

Today, is a few chores day and then work on trains. Need to do some dusting. All that sawdust is getting bad. Must clean up train room and start the new bridge section. Think I'll run trains too. New factory has little soft lights inside. Looks great at nite.

I see that the folks in the Carolinas are getting hit with some nasty weather. That's really a shame. Whistling [:-^]

Well, the Dining Car has arrived and still has some goodies left from the hungry " points west " people. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Reggie:  WOW what a beautiful little girl you've got!  She must take after her mother! Wink [;)]

RT: Happy B-Day [bday]  Those passenger cars... If it weren't for the house I would snatch 'em up quick as candy!  I've been looking for a complete set for some time... wife was supposed to get the new 7 car set for my birthday, but I was informed they aren't coming due to the house purchase! Sad [:(]

No updates on the house, we should know something definitive tomorrow... you should have heard the wife on the phone with the broker last night!  If I could have recorded the conversation and posted it you would have had a great laugh!  It took her about 20 minutes of straight talking (he didn't get a word in edgewise) to basically call him an incompetant tool!  LOL!  Guess we won't be going with that lender!  LOL!

Good morning all,

It is relatively warmer but will be snowier with temps in the 20s in SE Indiana.  My wife and I used a gft certificate and went out to eat last night while Lucas was at work.  I still went to the YMCA later, but I was stuffed.  I tried to post pictures last night, but my efforts were unsuccessful.  I may have to do some research on this matter.  Brwebster, my 8E is an original, but the 318E is a Lionel Classics.  Reggie, nice picture of the daughter!  Take care of her and try to enjoy this time now because they grow up so fast.  My daughters now have kids of their own!!!  I hope everyone has a good day and those facing the snow are extra safe.  "Points East", the dining car has left the station!  ETA, when you post on the "pot"!

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

About a 1/4" of sleet on the ground this morning when I went to get the paper from the box.  The road doesn't look bad though.  As of 7 a.m. the schools in our county are still open, the county east of us is closed.  We're now sending the "storm" north-east as a present for the Chief, it'll give him good reason to stay home and play with trains.

I go in at noon today and'll have the store to myself through the weekend.  The boss is out of town for a couple of days, car show in south GA.  With this weather it'll probably be a slow day.

Finished redoing a couple of heavyweights yesterday.  Luckily the paint matches the Lionels I yet have to reletter and if I can get the existing lettering off I can avoid stripping and repainting.

Good morning @ 7 a.m. Snowing furiously--but at 25,000 feet-----and evaporating [spitting]in our extremely dry air before it reaches ground.  Snowing 20 miles southwest of us and will commence here later than forecast [originally for 6 a.m.] just in time for all those delayed openings ---at 10 a.m.

Local TV News nuts are frentic and I am sure along with auto body shops praying for moist air, snow, ice and our normal epidemic of fender benders. Well, according to new [now]prediction, 1-3" of snow then 1/4" of ice later this afternoon. Now 30 degrees.

Having a bowl of my wife's sugar and fat-free cereal that looks and tastes like what we used to feed the livestock. Going for haircut if Barber hasn't hibernated then off to Cardiac Rehab if it hasn't canceled.

Got to quit procrasting and make decision whether to change my yard lead-in by eliminating it and ladder of lefthand 054 turnouts, then installing a Ross 4-way for longer, smoother transition and ability to easily move 8-drivered engines and articulateds into yard. Also will involve eliminating a 072 wye that will free up many scale acres of the layout. Much rail feeder desoldering and Tortoise turnout motor relocation involved. Strongest vote for making the change is more space for structures and against, is in favor of my arthritis and inevitable case of sore "trainneck" and "trainback".

Good morning from New England.

I had a surprise waiting for me when I walked into my office this morning. A new PC. I've been using a Mac and it has all my files, including all my internet bookmarks. No one told me the computers were going to be swapped, so I didn't prepare for it. Now I have no bookmarks! Let's see how I do using Explorer on the PC. I was using Firefox with great success on the Mac.

John and I went to pick up the new Lionel catalog last night. The store was closed!! It's been that kind of week. What can ya do?

Happy birthday, RT!! 52 is as good an age as any other. Happy B-Day [bday] Enjoy your day!!!

thanks for all the support and wisdom you guys gave, have given, and will give in the future. i really do appreciate. i am really tired right now as i might have had 8 hours of sleep since sunday. between my wife, daughter, and working out i know my daughter has gotten the most time. i had to oil the wife's body for her as she started complaining about her skin feeling tight. i actually got a little nausea/dizzy from sleep deprevation as i was working out today i had to quit 3/4's the way through it. i didnt even get to do my running and i feel bad about that, but tomorrow morning i'm going to make up for it and do 7 miles on an eliptical machine and also do an hour spin class which will be a total or close to 20miles in all in about 2 hours. but all in all i'm very happy and here's a picture of my beautiful baby girl NAIJAH pronounced NY-JAH

we are home and everybody is doing well.

my layout building progress is now officially on hold and i want beable to do any work until at least after the season and my little one gets a little older. so please bare with me and as soon as i get more work done i will post pics, but for now please bare with me. i will be checking in periodically to update my status and check up on you guys to see if you are behaving properly.

Well, looks like someone southwest of NC is sending lots of grits our way.  Latest NOAA update says we may get 3-4 inches of snow here next to the Virginia State line.  They've been layin on the brine solution since before daylight this morning and cancelled schools for tomorrow before it even started snowing in Tenn.

CHIEF - you may just miss this one but looks like Dewey and I will be socked in.  What the heck - LET IT SNOW....LET IT SNOW....LET IT SNOW!!!Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Happy B-Day [bday] RT!!!  Make some Snow-cream to go with your cake!

Just popped some of Orville's corn that is new to me, you shake Ranch seasoning on----ugh!---this batch goes to the crows. Need to stay with regular popcorn.

May get a little snow here in the Triad and freezing rain followed by a warm up to 32-33 degrees later tomorrow. Chief is down there in Rolesville/Raleigh where all that hot air comes out of the State Legislature so he will be warmer. Had planned to go to my high mountain place and pickup a couple engines but snow still on ground there. Anyway, tomorrow is not a good day to travel west. [taking down the high shelf layout there]

Mom was from NE Ohio, Dennison High School also New Comberstown and Urichsville where we used to have family reunions. She had 11 brothers and sisters so I have at least 150 first cousins still in the Buckeye state but they are moving to warmer climates as they reach retirement.

Used  to catch the N&W to Columbus from Madison, N.C. [where O gauger Lisa-n-NC lives] during the late 1930s and during WWII to visit my Grandma. Grandpa died during the 1918 flu epidemic. Grandma was a good cook [don't tell Chief but she cooked grits with poached eggs frequently. Several of my uncles were in WW I and got used to eating grits while at Southern military bases----I eat them once every 5 years whether I want to or not].

Snow!! Did someone say SNOW?  We are suppose to get some SNOHIO tomorrow morning and then turn to rain.  Do I care???  No, I might sleep through it. Angel [angel]  West of us, they are under winter storm warning.  At noon today they had already sprayed the Beltline's bridges.  By 5 PM today they had sprayed the highway in front of my house [main US route to Raleigh].  No watch it only rain. Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]  Wife hope it will snow.  She will stay home [not because she can't drive in it], watch Gone With The Wind and cook seafoam candy.  Microwave popcorn time.
