Good morning, everyone.

Ran all post war last night. Our 2025 and our 2056 took turns pulling a set of 2400 passenger cars. John ran our B&M Beep on the floor. Was so tired, I went to bed at 8:30. Been going to bed early quite a bit since the pneumonia spell. No stamina. I think I need a Bahamavention!

John, if I was a millionaire, my wife would have found a way to spend it by now. So I'd really be an ex-millionaire!!!

Glad to see the Chief got his switch problems sorted out. I knew he would. The guy knows his stuff!

Still on cloud nine over the recent Lionel catalogs. Boy, a guy could go broke buying everything of interest! I'm half-willing to give it a go!

Laz, the only Corgi Batmobile I have left is a very near-mint first issue. All original. It is gorgeous!

I like the K-Line catalog I'm interested in the super streets and a lot of there figures and buildings I see they list a factory but no pic I'm hoping its the old plasticville factory. I made up a list lastnight of wants and (not a big one ) it came up to $341.87 so far of coarse thats - my discount at my LHS and plus tax. so it'll still be about $287.18. (our railroad club discount he gives us.) I've alread saved the initiation fee and first years dues.

Well gotta go talk to you all later

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 29 degrees. A few snow flurries this morning. Then going up to 34 and more snow flurries.

Today, I am driving to Cambridge to grocery shop. A nasty job. Gas prices have come down a little. Last one I saw was $1.99 a gallon. Would be nice to see it a dollar less than that. I don't think that will happen.

Later, I would like to run trains for awhile. Need a little relaxing and unwind from shopping.

Dining Car has rolled in from " points west ". Some one has had breakfast early. Now, it's my turn. Be back later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and snowy and cold again in SE Indiana with temps maybe reaching 30 today.  I worked on the lean-to doors last night and got the old latching posts off  (From  Ghostbusters...."We had the tools... and the talent....  It's Miller Time! " ).  I went to the Y to do the treadmill for 30 minutes.  My wife and I watched "Veronica Mars".  I will have to watch it again because there were some scenes that were so hilarious I was pratically ROTFLMAO, and I missed some of the dialogue.  No time for trains last night, but Lucas is working tonight so I have the back room to myself for a while.  I agree with Jefelectric in looking at the new catalogs, there is a lot of interesting stuff.  The new Alaska set and expansion pack are intriguing, and so is the Lincoln Log set.  It is good to see Lionel cross-marketing with other toy products.  The lighted 520s look good as well.  I like the Halloween set and handcar as well.  My wife is reserving judgment until she sees the hard copy.  It is good to hear so many of us are getting layouts down and running.  I better send the dining car to "Points East".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning from a cold and windy Chicago where I have yet to purchase Bears Super Bowl items from the street vendors whom you know always have the best stuff. Every day more interesting stuff appears. Hope both Jims (F and A) are feeling better today. Hope to rewire the Mt Seaman beacon and add another light to the Eagles Ridge Amusement Park tonight - then maybe try to set up the semaphore again closer to the edge of the layout.

Haven't got to the new CTT yet; too busy reading the last year's worth of Trains and Model Railroader I got out of the library.

I feel fine, Doug. Just been tired. I wake up every day at 4:30-5:00 am. Even the weekends, because the kids are up before the roosters and come looking for me to get them their orange juice. I let my wife sleep in as she doesn't get home till late. Besides, she needs her beauty sleep!!!

Morning all.  Doug M, the word is LAZY and getting OLDER, for Jimbo. Wink [;)]  Doug, show us some pictures of EAGLES Park.

Warming up fast.  Big bowl of grits this AM [I was starving].  Eating only one big meal a day and microwave popcorn for night snack.  Wife's Christmas baking made me gain some.

Got some outside projects to do today.  Still want to get "backboard" under and behind the "power center".  Cut holes with hole saw and install those flush binding posts Frankie gave me.  Then separate tracks and sidings.  Have a good one.

Hey Marty!
Was wonderin' where you've been!

Had a question for you in regards to the Polar Express Cruise Upgrade from ERR that you did... did you have to cut any pins or wires?  Did you have to solder any wire to any silicone board pins?

The reason I ask is I'm in the middle of an upgrade using the TAS EOB and I have to do a cut and two three solders, making this what I would call an irreversable modification... are the ERR upgrades reversable?

Thanks, and hope the NHL All-Star game is a success for you!

Good Night All.

Good morning,

Chuck, You may have to call in Buckeye to consult on this project, Sounds like it is getting compicated.

On the Lionel catalog, I haven't studied it in detail yet, but the Lackawanna flats with trailers look good as do some of the accessories in the K-line catalog.  None of the motive power turns me on at this point.  Don't really need anything, but that hasn't stopped me before. Smile [:)]  I already have some Atlas and Weaver engines coming this year on preorder.

Yesterday my wife came home from the office and announced "There is a big box here for you from Bob Thatcher".  By now she knows what that means.  Box contained 4 PRR composite gondolas and 2 70ton covered hoppers for Philadelphia Quartz, which I had preordered in September for January delivery.  Atlas generally nails their delivery dates pretty well.  Anyone have a suggestion for mid 50s gondola loads?  I don't like my cars running empty, no revenue in that. Smile [:)]

As usual I am sitting here typing instead of working on projects at the bench. Blush [:I]

I think the long awaited winter is here.  Cold and cloudy, more of the same with chance of snow for the rest of the week.

Morning all!

Worked my you know what off last night preparing for the carpet installation that is now taking place. Guess that is a lot better than dealing with CARPETBAGGERS!

Cold today - started in mid-30's and heading for high 40's maybe - sun might come out this afternoon and then it will make 50. First time for a real winter here this century I think.

Like the new Lionel catalog. Hope the real one arrives soon in the mail (I am a member of the Lionel RR's Club). One of you guys asked about joining - go to Lionel's web site and click on Lionel Railroader Club. The next page has the link for joining. Gets you the catalogs in the mail. I do not know if that loco they showed in the new catalog is available soon or was available in the distant past. I have not seen it offered and I have been a member for several years now.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

I'm not a member of the LRRC, not sure I find it all that beneficial to just get the cats in the mail... The Weaver, Williams, and Atlas-O clubs seem a bit better to me seeing that they either include a car, discount, or both if you join their clubs... I think Lionel needs to update their offerings! Smile [:)]  Also, the image on the LRRC info page hasn't changes in over 6 years... again they need to update the image if what they are showing isn't available... hmmm... another email to the folks at Lionel seems in order...

Feel free to correct me if I have the details concerning the LRRC incorrect!

lionroar - everything is relative. LRRC is $20 per year and MTH is $50 (and you get a car - $25 without the car). Either way you are paying $20-25 for catalogs and a newsletter.

Williams and the others are a bit better depending on what you want.

Brent.  Besides one metal tab and a couple of plastic tabs on the bracket that holds the original board there is nothing that will render the loco irreversably modified. The original board can have the wires soldered of with just a touch of the iron and if you want to reinstall it double faced tape will mount it back to the bracket that it was mounted to.

So yes there are some items that will make it non original but I could revert back to original board in less than an hour if that.  Of course you might have to use some new wire.  The instructions called for cutting in some spots and slicing where I chose to use the wire that would eliminate some splicing.

Lionroar88, not the adult movie thing, it is how you are supposed to eat crawfish.  First you eat the tail, then suck out the juices from the back of the head...that is where the cajun flavors are concentrated.  While some bad t-shirts could be made of this fact, it was just instruction for those who have not tried them.

Good afternoon.  Did not think I would be posting again as had a lot to do.  Met up with wife and son (he is 4) down in the lab.  They had to do some test on the poor kid and boy was he upset.  I am glad that I was able to break away and be there for him, but it sure does break a dad's heart to see the little ones in painSad [:(].  I think it will take me longer to get over it than him.  Wife stopped by a toy store and got him a cap pistol...everything is alright nowSigh [sigh].

I got the catalog for the "Backshop" series of videos, can anyone recommend which ones to get?  It is a shame that the format has one thing you would like, and the rest you have no need for.  Anyay, I am sure I will do some ordering and add to my library.

Hope to get the CTT in the next day or so, I am getting anxious.
