John, You need an evacuation plan. Hire 10 people to draw you up a plan with graphics. Buy a big bus and pack up the trains. You may get a Tsunami from the quake. Tie up the boat and the camels.

Not much happening here.  Much cooler.  Got a little rain.  Watching WVU get thumped by USF. Not pretty.

Ps - John and Sir James, I think Chief snuck over and got all the cupcakes???  I also found some soft clay and a few bits of dried vegetation.  After careful analysis, I believe this is the claim found only on the sides of a few streets in a certain town in England and also some dried tea leaves????  Perhaps Chief and a certain English Gentleman coordinated a raid together!?!?

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning!

Miss Lisa:  Prayers for you to get better.  Glad the two of you are taking turns waiting on each other.  We both got sick with the flu once, and were at opposite ends of the couch flipping to see who would go out to get food!  We are a bit in the country, and can only get pizza delivered.

Sir James:  Sorry I couldn't wait either.  Cut grass too!  Say... didn't you mention a train show around you in the near future???

Brutus:  Thanks for getting the mower back as quickly as you did!  No one even noticed it was missing! Laugh [(-D]

Neighbor lady is trying to do an end around on the tractor parts.  I wouldn't let her pay for the parts so she is going to call to dealer for the price.  You all may be thinking I should be cutting her grass too...believe me I TRIED.

Mornin' boys.  Clear and 60's here in the Mid-Atlantic region today.  Good sleeping weather;wish I could sleep in...  Stopped over Michael's and purchased Mickey's barber shop, which will look nice on Baltimore Street in my town of Cumberland.  May have to find some barber chair figures to place inside it's front window at YORK.  Trying to track down a good stand in for the ol' EMBASSY Theatre.  I need to get cranking on the layout!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and foggy 47 degrees. Sun is out. Going up to 76 today, with sunshine all day.

Today, I will be busy around the house. A few jobs to do. Then, later, I will be cleaning up in the train room. Needs a good dusting. Trains need to be run and track cleaned. But, I will spend some time outside, as there are not too many nice days left. Leaves are really starting to turn colors.

Dining Car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Jim, You can see the Morris Minor under the cardboard Titfield Thunderbolt. Much better railway comedies are; Wil Hayes 'Oh Mr Porter'. And 'The Great St Trinians Train Robbery' both using real puffers.

Have a good one all of you and may those who are poorly, get better and those who aren't keep healthy.

While turfing out my surplus VCR tapes I found a USA film called 'Thomas and The Magic Railroad'. Yes I actually sat down and watched it through. I think I'm regressing. Caveman

Good morning from beautiful Ohio, where it is 49 degrees with a clear blue sky.   (Eat your heart out Roy.)

It is getting time for the best festival of all, the Circleville Pumpkin Show.  This is the 100th Anniversary of the great pumpkin show and it has withstood the test of time.  Circleville, another outstanding city in Ohio, is about 30 miles south of Columbus and was named after the circular Indian mound that was located, where the town now stands.  My great grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy lived just outside the "circle" in a log cabin in 1828.  The Shawnee Indians had aligned themselves with the British during the War of 1812, so it was somewhat peaceful.   Not liking the neighbors, the Eagles' (corrected based upon berating by the Chief) family, who lived about 500 miles away, my great grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy's grandpappy moved the family farther west in search of riches.  They didn't find any or they didn't leave me any.

The proud Mountaineers of West Virginia, my favorite eastern state, were defeated last night by some Florida junior college that spent a lot of money for a football team and set their academic requirements to: "Are you breathing?, then you are admitted."  Pathetic!  At least those Texans and Carolinians play fair.

The new job is keeping me very busy.  Fast paced and long hours.  Monday I have two roof inspections to take care of.  I am not afraid of heights since I have been crawling around on bridges all of my career at heights around 200 feet, but slippery roofs are not fun.  Did I ever tell you about walking across the beams of a bridge over I-80?

I'm really looking forward the the gathering of OTTS at the Berea Train Show.  Tom, we need a OTTS badge, hat or T-Shirt for our official outings.  Wes, I hope you are still planning to catch a ride with me on Saturday.

I hear the dinning car heading into the station.  Need to jump aboard and get some steak and eggs served on that fine blue china.

See ya down the tracks,

Good morning from a  sunny and warm Crystal Lake where it is supposed to be in the 80s all week - hurray for global warming! Suffered through the Cubs clinching the division at a local watering hole last evening. Missed out on an LMS Interurban by Ace Trains on eBay I stumbled across. CL South High School lost last night to a bad team. There goes their #3 ranking.

Glad to learn more about the Great State of Ohio this morning. Going to the Johnny Appleseed Festival a bit later - our town's fall fest. My suggestion about Oktoberfest down by the lake was unheeded. I like Laz's idea of a date!

Good Morning All (from not so sunny California)

We have an overcast day, apparently about a 3-4000 ft deep marine layer, probably no sun all day.

Wife called from Mall of America yesterday, found some Dept 56 stuff thought I might need for the layout.  Suggested otherwise.  They finally made it to Duluth area.  They are staying in a "cabin" which belongs to an uncle, about 1 hr from all the family.  Probably a good idea.  Anyway they arrived safe, probably be there for 2 weeks or so.  FIL won $1100 at a casino on the way, not to bad.

Today is laundry day, plumbing, and MAYBE some layout time.  Have to work tomorrow, UGH!

Everytime I go out to work on the layout, I decide I NEED to move a couple of engines.  Then next thing I know I've been playing with the trains for an hour or two.  Not making much progress.  I do have two areas that span a walkway, with 072 curve track.  Took some measurements and having a sheet metal shop making me a couple of supports.  Since its on a curve the and light weight track, the engines do need support.  Going to make this a couple of drop in sections.  He is making them out of 36 gauge, and I'm having him put a gusset along the bottom.  Should prevent any twisting.

Well off to the laundry.

Have a great day!

Hope everyone is feeling better!

Needless to say - Hope the Ohizians enjoy the show, and great news on the job Buckeye - glad you like it!

I think Im begining to have York withdrawel pains!

We just got back from dinner. I ate too much again. I'm now a whopping 20 pounds over my playing weight and getting bigger every day. My size 34 waist pants are now too tight, but I refuse to go up to a 36. So I need to eat a lot less and exercise a little more.

Can't decide if the PE Trainsounds tender sounds like a whistle or a diesel horn. Maybe we'll call it a whorn?

A quick scan of the OGR and MTJ forums shows nothing interesting, aside from the completely unitended laughs some of the regular posters provide me. Laugh [(-D]
