Anyone for Brunswick Stew? My mother used to talk of such things as blood pudding and Haggus, etc. Of course that was back during the war and who knows what folks will eat to sustain themselves under such circumstances. But unless we are surrounded and I have no other choice, nothing "Blood" will be on my plate, except perhaps the juices from a nice rare steak.
Anyway, FIL and his wife are leaving tonight. I will take them all out to dinner if the call allows me to do so. With the movie getting going, I am not sure I will have a whole lot of train time over the next few months anyway.
God Bless,
Dennis

Been there done that. Actually her Mom just got rid of her last horse, always had at least one on the property and as many as three. Also had a donkey for a while, that was the best riding animal for a kid, very tame and docile.
Here she is at the age of 5.

We got hammered...Really dark with thunder and lightning all around us. I think all this rain is starting to hamper our septic system. I heard gurgling last night.
Went to what is called Work Force Alliance here in Florida(job service program here in FL) and taking class for loss prevention at grocery stores with a company called Master's Security, already have a D license for security work. Also signed up on Handymanconnection.com for work, hopefullt something will turn up.
jefelectric, thanks for the good luck wishes on finding work, I may have a few leads.
Would love to go to the York PA meet but finances and wife's work schedual prevent it. York is only an hour or so from Reading, about 40 minutes from Lancaster if I stayed at Lancaster in a motel for the night.

Well, I spent the last forty-five minutes trying to get on the forum. I got here, and then it would let me read, but I had no way to post. I don't know if this is going to work. Finally figured out my firewall is blocking their cookie, but they should already have a cookie on my machine??
Spent a really nice couple of hours with Chief Eagles the other night. I didn't realize before that he used to live here back in his Nike-Herk days. It has changed a lot. What fire are you guys talking about? Lots are so small in Japan that it is against the law to let your house catch fire because it will spread to the neighbor's house.

First day it didnt rain in three days. Thank goodness starting to get a little cabin fever.

Didn't think of this but look at your tires and check the side walls. You might have a bad belt on one of them. You'll notice it looks like a line running from the tread to the rim. Might look some what of a welt. That would make you car shake.
And here is a first, the wife suggested we go to the train shop this weekend. She's pregnant so maybe it's the hormones

Philly, watch out! I bet she caught onto our old trick of buying something on the pricey side, then before she finds out about it, we buy her something nice or let her buy something nice for herself and it softens the blow. She probably bought that $500.00 shower curtain that she's been eyeing.
Buckeye, Hearing Mr. Wolf going to the home of that rascal Sherman is no suprise, He will probably take notes, make a reproduction of Sherman's house in 1/48th scale and then sue the Sherman estate for "stealing" his ideas.
Chief, you have to watch it with them pretty reporters. They will bat them eyes and the next thing, you find yourself answering any 'ol question. They may get you to divulge the plans for the next Grits raid or something.
Well, rest of family is in bed. Time to finish up with the CTT and get some rest. Still have two cases I may have to go and do.
That means I will NOT be going to Ohizo anytime soon. No rain. Send rain. Later

Hay Chieffie, Here is a picture just for you! My new MTH club car just came UPS today direct from Mike Wolf.
Pretty sharp, huh?
She's starting her 7th month so we found out it's a girl so it's kinda good. Now I have the reason to buy that girls train. Been looking at the Williams set can't afford a true Lionel. The littlie guy does'nt talk yet it's it kinda hard to say every train I bring home is the one he wanted. All he does is point and go "Woo-Woo"
I have been checking around the house and don't see anything new so it's kinda scarey that she made the suggestion of going to the train shop. Unless she's waiting till Sunday to pop it up about the new furniture the baby girl is gonna need.

88 - good luck on the car parts, hope it goes well.
Fifedog, I'll bet that Home Depot has the same clock tower again this year. They seem to have the same stuff from prior years at my store.
Tomorrow is the first day for school here. Laz, do you start again tomorrow? Anyway, went out today and also celebrated my daughter's birthday with our friends. I'm full of cookie cake and there are still about 5 pieces plus vanilla icecream, so you guys can all help yourselves and Happy Birthday for my daughter. You are all invited - John can let you in and be sure not to let Chewy eat the icecream!
RT - good luck, keep us posted man.
Chief - watching The Secret Life of Breakfast on TIVO. The question, what foods are American? Number 1 answer: GRITS. Also, Red Eye Gravy (with country ham) and buscuits and sweet potato pancakes. They skipped Johnny Cakes though.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Whew !! Lots going on since I went to work this afternoon !!
PhilaKnight : congratulations to new little one on the way !!
Jim F : tell the little one !! Consider the cookie cake GONE !!
Good to see Skyray back !! The Chief completed one mission, anyway !!
Kurt : I'm with Dennis & James on the meat & potatoes thing !!
Well, good night all !!

Found out where I was going wrong, MS has two download systems; Microsoft and Windows, do not use Windows Download Centre for XP or ERNI gets the colliwobbles. Get MS and it puts everything right. Sorry if I'm telling Granny how to suck eggs.
Haggus Dennis, I think you mean that well known Scottish delicacy HAGGIS, consists of sheep offal; heart lung, liver, kidney etc. with oats and spices enclosed in the sheeps stomach, served with neeps and tatties (boiled-mashed turnip and potatos). This is served up on New Years Eve and on Burns Night with great ceremony (Bagpipes) when the whole repulsive dish is piped into the gathering. Its only salvation to me is that vast quantities of single malt are to be consumed and the resulting stupor takes away the taste. This is me with Scottish family connections. Thank goodness none of them read this thread. I notice from the posts you guys eat a hell of a lot of sweet stuff, perhaps that's the reason you need big seats on th airoplanes, although there is a genetic tendency for the human frame to get larger (I wonder if given time we begin to get to the size of a Bronto) makes one think dosn't it?
Some swine donged my little car yesterday! Looks like another couple of hundred quid up the spout, I'll never get the Ashlar and Spen Valley RR running.
Going to the local hospital in the next hour to see Mr Baguenid about the vascular degeneration in my left leg, it's not too bad at present, I just feel the cold and have difficulty walking more than a mile or so. (Thinks; Stop moaning Fatty! At 68, your OK).
Big project running; putting all my audio and video on to disc, a job I've been putting off for far too long.
Time to shut up! been rambling on for long enough.
Have a nice day every one.
