Stop what ever it is you are doing and post those 2343 photos! I'm dying to see them. Much better than you were expecting? Give us the low down. And step on it. Wink [;)]

On the subject of how we met our wives... I had bad experiences going both the old-fashioned way and the newfangled way. Two very intense relationships, both of which looked very promising, both blew up spectacularly (but before marriage, fortunately). Probably the biggest flaw in both was maturity. When we had problems, we'd never seen those problems before and didn't know how to correct them.  Everything that loomed overhead looked like the Enola Gay, even if it was nothing.

I met my wife the newfangled way, online. That worked really well, and a big part of it was because we knew a lot about each other even before we met in person. The other thing that helped was that we both tend to be very shy in person, so if we'd met in person we probably never would have had that first conversation. Meeting online helped because it pretty much eliminated the question in our minds about whether the other person was interested.

I never realized that Chief stuttered. Ashamed [*^_^*]

Any of you been by the Stout auction site lately ? They are unloading a bunch of pre & post war stuff, box lots it appears. But check out that AF salesmans set on the home page, it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and I'm not a big AF fan. I am going to follw that one to see what it will sell for. Cool [8D]

Hey speaking of marriage, yesterday I got home early (I dodged out of a training class) and was talking to my wife as she was showering. She stepped out of the shower, looked herself over in the mirror, and asked me if I thought she was fat. I paused a little too long and then replied, "well, you aren't Twiggy". She's latched onto that like a pitbull on a mailman ever since. Why do they ask if they don't want to hear the truth?!

Chief, looooooooooooooooooooooved that email!

See the software psoted me three times.  Could not get it to open at first.  Then reply screen came up so sloooooow.

Well, Town meeting all day unitl 3 PM.  Not going to work on soundboard.  Watering.  Inside/outside thermometer indicates 104 outside in the shade under the overhang on North side.  Greenhouse is 115 with all doors and windows open and fan going with shadecloth on.  All you do is walk out and you turn wet.  No need to get soaked and dusting cutting soundboard and then bring it in and let heat in house.  Start early tomorrow or maybe later tonight [got lights out there] as wife will be at Youngest [leaving after 8 PM tonight with her sisters].  Went to visit the new police station that is being leased until we can build new Town Hall.  Police Chief's office is going to be larger than mine!!!!  In fact, think everyone's will be larger than mine!!!  [really doesn't bother me]   OH NO, may have to go to NH in a couple of weeks. Disapprove [V]  Later.  Got stuck on 4 bars and would not move.  Closed it down and re-edited it.

Its a 103 F in the shade, in the backyard this afternoon.  Glad I finished my running around before noon today.

The internet around here was slow as mollasses on a winter morning today.  I guess another 50,000+ users in town doesn't help. UGA students moved back into Athens this week.Disapprove [V]

Chief- 115? Jeez that's not hotWink [;)] What was the humidity?

Just got back from getting a haircut. The guy was happy to see me wearing my Ferrari shirt. He's a full blooded Italian, so I can see why. He only wishes he can get me to like Italy's soccer team, but I'm going to stay German on that subject.

We had a little bit of rain here........but it still hasn't lowered the humidity.

Well, I'm off to play XBOX Live. Have a good evening everyone.

Notice the Jersey JEZZZ above. Laugh [(-D]  Guess what?  3 tenths of an inch of rain!!!!!  Suddenly storm made up over Roseyville.  Now one is rumbling just east of Town limits.  Going the wrong way.  This one died over Roseyville.  another one made up just east of us now.  Funny how they are not there and suddenly lightning and pouring.  Wife not going to Youngest's until early tomorrow AM.  Still calling for 100 degrees tomorrow.  Soundboard tomorrow.

Got home and found the BFoC on the porch!  Nice boxes and in the packaging it looks great!  Need to go turn off the sprinkler, but I brought up a circle of track and a transformer and I'll take some pics to post Sunday.  FiL coming tomorrow and so will leave up until he can run it too.  It's a little bigger than I expected, though still small compared to modern train equipment of course!

pant-pant-pant....  Just ran in from putting up the sprinkler - I forgot I turned set it out when I got home - I think it just ran for like 2.5 hours!  :(  Oh well, I'll make sure I set the timer next time!

88 - thanks for the email!  Hey, hope you got that roof up today.

Good luck RT and thanks for the update!

Laz - hope the muscle is getting better.

Marty - if you read this, I read on comingsoon that they cast a Russian guy as Pavel Chekov in the next Trek movie and they have also cast the young Spock.  Nimoy will also make an appearance as Spock, so I guess this movie will be a flashback?  Rumor is that Shatner will also appear and they are casting Sulu, Uhura, Kirk, Bones, Scotty, etc.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Top of the morning to Y'all!  Dark early in these parts and heading in to do a case.  Today is my son's first day of school....unfortunately, I have to miss it.  I think we will take him out for dinner to the place of his choice.  Tomorrow, we are heading to Hotlanta for the train show.  Will try to make it by Roger at Memory Station...if the family is up for it.  Then, to sister-in-law's for the night.  If anyone is going to the show, perhaps we will catch up.  I'm not too hard to spot as I will have my wife and two kids behind me.  The 2yo girl is Chinese born, now AMERICAN.  Anyway, I hope it is a good one.  May pick up a few things that won't have my bride yelling at me.

God Bless,

Dennis

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Going up to 84 today, with sunshine due. Got a lot of rain last evening. Big thunderstorm missed us.

Today, I have a few errands to run and shopping to do at the local store. Nothing major, but staples. Later, I plan on working in the train room on a few ideas I have. Kind of slow going on trains in the summer. Hope to spend some time outside before it gets too hot.

I heard that the politicians in Washington wanted to put a new Fed. tax on gasoline to help pay for the National bridge repairs. That was a stupid idea, as the price of gas is still way too high. They don't seem to hear the public. Or don't care.

Well, Dining car is here and well stocked. It is time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Chuck

Yesterday was furniture day at my house. A new sectional and some chairs arrived and my wife and I had to move the old stuff to the garage so that hopefully, the Salvation Army will come by and pick it up. Try getting a charity to pick up used furniture sometime. They only take like-new items! Poor people and those who help them are certainly getting picky about their free handouts! There's always the dump.

Well I got some of the roof on last night... got the supports in and put up 3 sheets of underlayment, climbed on the roof and cut that excess off... then put up 1 sheet on the far side... then realized I was missing a 2x6 facia board! Banged Head [banghead] So couldn't go any further... then just as I get off the ladder the sky gets dark and I mean DARK!  So I scramble to get everything inside and just as I close the garage door BOOM! a bolt hit somewhere close by and then the sky just opened up with one heck of a lot of water!

So the shed isn't completely water tight. Sad [:(]

I should have it locked up on Monday, and shingles on it on Tuesday, and be able to paint on Wednesday and Thursday.  I'll still make my goal of having it completed by the time Susan's Graduation party comes around next Saturday! Approve [^]Big Smile [:D]

----
Got to work today and my boss asks me if I want to move to a new contract.  Will have more responsibility, have people reporting to me, require me to wear a pager (again Sad [:(]), and possibly travel... I sent him an email asking some additional questions... not doing it if it doesn't include a nice raise and 1 more week vacation.

I also got a call about a new job yesterday... substantial pay raise... oh the fun!

Good morning all,

It is is hot and humid again in SE Indiana with temps and humidity in the 90s.  My wife and I went to the YMCA last night.  She went around the track and I did weights.  Spent the afternoon at work yesterday at a camp for kids with HIV or whose parents have HIV.  It is sad to see someone so young so affected by such a devastating illness.  The real downside is knowing there is no cure right now.  At least with Lucas' cancer, there was a cure.

On a lighter note, I am making an excursion into Reb terrritory Saturday night.  Although we won't venture far across the border, we will be far enough in to spread anti-GRITS devices.  Just the usual fare on the dining car.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys. 100% huma-di-di-ty here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Anyone notice anything different about me...?

88 - If you don't make it as an IT guy, you can always go into business for yourself building boathouses.  That thing is huge.  I hope you tried to save some of that scrap wood for the layout...  Good luck with getting everything ship-shape for the party.

dbaker48 - Brent already has a gorgeous finished train room down in his nice cool basement.  He just needs TIME to build something in it.

Grayson - Dude, I think it's time to stop letting your mom cut your bangs...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Still, no one noticed anything different about me today....?

-----> 1000 <-----

DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!

Ohhhhh thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

I just want to thank all the little people who made this possible.  It seems like only yesterday I was scrolling across the CTT forums, and entered the pot, just as Buckeye was calling the Chief a "potty-mouth".  Then, right there, I knew I had found a home...

...Annnnnnd, I'll have you all know this will not change me. Not one bit.

Sooooooooo, what do I get...?Dunce [D)]
