Don't age him prematurely, Kurt - they're Jim's kids. Wink [;)]I think they're also in the photo thread. Just fixed the Christmas tree lights - my solution when a string goes out: unplug the old, plug in the new!

CSX, way to stay on the diet Bow [bow] - I would love to see the Cincy-Power-sponsored display in Cinncinatti - I know that's a ways from Columbus though.

Evening All,

Busy, busy this weekend. Just catching up on the Pot.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Still working on Gamesroom lights. I have all the white 12V lights in and working on dimmers. Half the LED colour change lights are in. Hope to finish the last bit tomorrow evening if I get chance. A tin Lionel sign arrived today, should look great on the wallSmile [:)].

Afternoon!

Jumijo:  What's this??? The Jumijo finally published????  Congratulations!  Nice grandkids!  Laugh [(-D]

Brent:  Big thumbs up on the 1/8" plywood idea.  Completed over the weekend!  I got into a rush as I was on a counter for number of projects needed to complete Saturday.  I wasn't paying close enough attention to the grain, and the butt joint doesn't match as well as I would hope.

I hooked up the CW80 to the largest main line that runs the biggest power-sucking train. Works like a charm. I hear what sounds like a fan motor in it.. I took out the 2nd switch for each of the sidings on two main lines - I was stretching the 027 track too much - even with connectors, it was coming apart and that seems to be the cause of the intermittent running - though Thom still is moving 'jerkier' than I think is right.

Well times are getting hard for sure one neighbor lost her house and now AEP delivered a note to anothers house may be nothing but they are barely making a living.  We already have 2 empty houses on the street. read in the Columbus dispatch that a lot of Ohio's big cities are losing not just jobs but also people are leaving for lack of jobs and unstable incomes. I am thankfull that I have a job and owe nothing on house and autos just insurance and taxes as long as I make enough to cover that I am doing good.

Hopeing to get Shrek the Third DVD, An american flyer DVD and hopefully no clothes as I am am losing weight and have a ton of stuff that I got to big for that will shortly fit again I hope.

Any one know of any free train displays around columbus this year?

Morning all from a cloudy and cold N Texas. Started at 32 and might hit 40 today. Some rain maybe.

Busy weekend and no time to post or catch up. Got the tree up and all the indoor holiday decorations. He-who-is-14 was of no help this time except to get the boxes out of the attic.

Busy day today. Gotta run.

Morning.  Got up early.  Big bowl of GRITS.  Then did some train work.  HAd early model of a Dash 9 NS with TMCC and Sound but no cruise control.  Bad about rabbit starts and stops.  Wired the motors in series.  Wow.  Makes a big difference and yet keeps the top end speed fast enough to fly.  Off to Town Hall in few and then county Animal Control this afternoon.  Later

Good morning all,

It is cloudy, cold and rainy again in SE Indiana.  The weekend was interesting.  Saturday was wall to wall grandkids along with running trains at the museum.  The crowd at the museum was slow Saturday and started off slow Sunday, but it was picking up "steam" when I had to leave for Lucas' choir show.  The Christmas tree is up and decorated.  Ornaments are kind of thin on the tree as we will have five kids under the age of seven at our house for Christmas.  The Christmas letter is written as well, and our shopping is almost done.  I will be working on Christmas cards tonight.  Breakfast was the regular fare this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

An early good morning from a grey and cold Crystal Lake where I hope to work more on the layout today - between a little real work, I'd like to experiment with moving some of the town and other stops around a bit. Maybe begin to add windmill blades to the old lighthouse I found in Hobby Lobby - Thomas needs his mill. Then I want to hook up this CW80 which at least looks beautiful and see how it works.

I have to make a dentist appointment - it's been a lonng time.

Well, I had fun ripping up the layout a bit more than I anticipated but it all works. I swapped wires to the transformers so the weird Thomas horns seem to work too.

I now have one main line around the perimeter (22 by 11 ft) which has a reconfigured siding and goes through the long tunnel on Mt Seaman. Then the second main line follows the first but runs in front of Mt. Seaman and connects to the yard loop-around with its three stub sidings. And the new third main line now follows the second except for it goes around the yard and in a half-circle around the main town then has its own now-extending siding opposite the one for the 1st main line. I still have a long loop of prewar O track for the trolleys. The youngest is getting better at running Percy with his freight, Thomas with his coaches and James pulling the Express. They all usually go around once, then stop in the front of the layout to 'talk'.

Night all. I'll clean the pot.

Evening to all.

Not much train related happening here.  I did put up the tree, string the lights,  and cooked dinner while the Mrs. took a snooze.  We had pork and sauerkraut cooked in the crock pot with some potatoes.  We will get the rest of the ornaments out of the attic and put hem up later in the week.  Only working a half day tomorrow.  I have a dentist appt. in the afternoon and then we are meeting a college buddy for dinner.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Evening All,

We have a lite coat of ice from todays drizzle, not as bad as forecast. But could get more into the nite. 28 deg. 6pm news reported the usual accidents all over the place. main roads were ok if people would slow down. Aunt in Toledo say's they have ice on the trees and wires.

Brutus P&D carries a lot of DIY parts in O scale but I don't think anyone makes window frames that are large like factory windows. Thank you for remembering my aunt. It appears the remission time is over and we know the bottom line, as does she. She is getting smaller doses  of some type of chemo less than the first time, and who knows. I spoke with her today and she is in good spirits. No ice cream today, I screwed up somewhere.

 See ya later,,,,,Sir James

Cute, but yes, there are Barns left on Long Island !

In fact we live in a "rural postal zone", and a hamlet (Peconic), thats part of the most rural town on LI (Southold).

So rural, that we don't have city water, sewers, or even garbage collection. You either haul your garbage to the town dump, or pay a 3rd party service. Our water is well water, and good ol' septic tanks.

The good part being, besides the tranqulity, our property taxes are a fraction of what suburban LI pays.

CSXect, this software is getting to be the pits.  Hangs up, jump to main page and so on.  Why I post more on another forum.  Faster.

Ran trains.  Worked on MTH Conrail dummy I had put in smoke unit.  Was smoking too much so added two more bridge rectifiers.  Better now.  Got out some older NS diesels I had not run for a while.  Fun.

Later.

Strange things going on I went to type in my message and got dumped to the main webpageConfused [%-)]

I have figured out that I can have a loop of G 80" radius, a 72" Ogauge a 42" s gauge a standard HO curve also used for 0n30 and an 031 loop all on an eight by 16 table. have 3 loops running in that area on the floor Had an lionel/flyer mike w/ passenger cars, a lionel basic steamer an a lionel G Polar express set running at the same time lots of noise. Looks like the simplest plan is a go I am not in to switching at this time just want to stretch the legs(wheels) of my trains with out looking like a dog chasing its tail.

Good evening all,

It has been cloudy, rainy and cold in SE Indiana.  We had a fairly good turnout for the museum this weekend.  I am finally better with the cold.  We had pancakes and sausages on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

'Morning from a grey and cold Crystal Lake where I just got back from serving at church and am going to the basement to open another box 'o Thomas - we have Percy, James and the expansion set with Harold on the layout. The youngest and I are opening a box a day.

Dryer fires are pretty serious. I'm glad everything is OK at the Fifedom.

Chief, nice job with the layout for the little boy.

Fifedog, that dryer event is pretty scary!  Glad no damage to the house, easier to replace a dryer than a house or family!  I run the laundry at our house (I wash and dry and they all hang the clothes up, or at least they are supposed to) and always clean that lint screen on every load.

Sir James, very sorry to hear about your aunt, hope they can get her fixed up again?  My friend Jeff's wife just started chemo.  Seems like just a lot of illness going around now!  Earthquakes too!?  Prayers for all!

JIM, I too have to do the laundry.  Wife shrank all my polypropaline hunting underwear, and that was it been doing it ever since.  I think I was set up for that?
