Hi! It's the New England Wisecracker! Back from the Christening party where I had a lot to eat and a moderate amount to drink. Lot to look at there as well!

I loaded some photo software on my computer this morning and was able to successfully download a few photos, so now I will be posting images (of all kinds) more often. Like now. Here's a pic of my colon  :  Nice, huh?

No porblem, Chukc. Only trying to help!

Jury duty tomorrow. I'm bringing CTT and OGR to read. Last time I had to serve 3 days as jury foreman on an assult with a deadly weapon case. Speaking of assault with a dealy weapon, I think I'm going to a salt and pepper up a roast beef sandwich and pour myself a glass of milk to go with it. Maybe go see what's on the History Channel.

Hey, you guys are great! I might actually miss a few of you!

Good evening all,

It was hot in SE Indiana today with temps in the 90s.  Fortunately I spent most of the day inside watching the races.  Raikkonen won the f-1 race and Dixon made it three in a row at Watkins Glen.  Manning was 9th for AJ with Danica 11th and Sarah 16th.  I did a little tree trimming this evening.  There were bran muffins on the dining car this morning.  I am glad to hear Zeke is better.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Glad you had a good vacation Roy.  We did get the rain you drove through.  It started later in the evening and rained all night.  Made a nice night for me and the MRS.Wink [;)]  Kids slept like rocks and eventually we did too.  We had some rain showers several times this last week in the late afternoon.  Reminded me of my days in South Florida, rain each afternoon for a short while and then gone.

Had a good night church tonight.  Kids from middle and high school went on retreat and returned today.  They presented tonight and did a good job.  I was again running the light board as the guy who was scheduled was dealing with a kidney stone.....I would take the lights over a stone any day.

I read that the NJ governor signed one of the "feel good about yourself green laws" into law.  They are making folks cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2020....FOOLS.  At least one good part is that it shifts more emphasis on shipping and commuter by RAILS!  So, it looks like more railroading in NJ.

Anyway, spouted off enough.  Hope everyone has a great week ahead.  I am planning on getting the lawn done and some wiring done on the layout this week.  I have a meeting with the commissioner for the county regarding Fire/Ems merger, etc.  I have a bit of informed experience in this and hopefully we can get things rolling for better coverage.

God Bless,

Dennis

Late night for me today!

I must say I had a very tiring weekend.  Friday night I spent installing more lights and replacing switches and outlets.  Saturday, Susan and I spent painting the Master Bedroom (was very nice to spend time with her and actually get something done on the house), also replaced switches and outlets in the Master Bedroom and upstairs hallway.  Stopped at Lowes to pickup two more lights and more switches and outlets.  Installed the new light in the first floor hallway and in the stairway to the basement.  Today a friend stopped by to help install the new foyer light.  We had to build a 4ft by 10 ft platform to get to the light fixture.  He did 80% of the work because he got on the platform first and he is an Electrical Engineer, he 'fixed' the miss wired box and now everything looks and opperates correctly!  The platform is in the process of being dismantled and moved to the basement for pending train layout construction.  While we were working on the foyer light, Susan stripped a wallpaper border from the hall bathroom.  Once that was done she realized she wanted to repaint the whole room, change the light fixture, change the faucet (this is why I am up late - she found one on EBay that she likes - and I got out bid!), and change the towel bar and toilet paper holder.  So we stopped at Lowes and picked up the new light fixture and a wall sconce for the powder room (two more electrical projects when I thought I was finally done with them).

Well the second faucet ends in 22 minutes... wish me luck... I'm going back in!

Good morning from New England! It rained here last night (again). I could get used to it. Sunny days and rain at night.

Off to jury duty soon. Not looking forward to that. Hopefully I'll be home early and be able to putz around with my trains. I'm also painting a Tony Stewart race car model for a colleague at work. Maybe I'll get something done on that today as well.

Well, it's the All Star break. The Red Sox spent the weekend getting swept in Detroit. This year's game is in Frisco. One of the nicer ballparks made recently.

Only 5 more days until vacation. North Conway, here we come!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 64 degrees. Going up to a hot 94, today. Another day of hot, dry weather. Sun during the day and rain at night is good.

Today, I am taking the wife back to the Doctor, to have her stitches out and remove the big bandage. Hopefully she will get the OK to return to normal living. She seems to be improving every day.

No time for trains again. This will be a busy day. I have to set aside a day, this week, and do some train dusting.

Congratulations.... Jim... 4000 posts. Keep them coming. Big Smile [:D]

Dining car has arrived and is ready. Still on self-serve. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Good morning all,

I echo what Chuck said about the weather.  It was warm and muggy when I got out of the truck this morning.  I hope all goes well today with the stitches removal.  I was runnning late today and so I did not post before the dining car left for "Points East".  I sure hope he does not have "self-serve" much longer.  I hope everyone (especially Zeke and Jenny) has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning All

Got to run trains with the grandkids yesterday.  Had lots of fun.  Smoked one of the solenoids on the train crossing bell, should be easy enough to fix once I get the part.  Sawmill started dropping planks too soon and not running to the end of the track.  Turned out string had too much slack.  The only thing I can figure is I've used it more than the previous owner and as such, the string stretched.  A quick adjustment and back in business.

Chuck-Hope wife does OK

Jim & Laz-Congrats on the Huge number of posts!

May God bless

Morning all.    NO RAIN here,76 at 530am going to 95.  Mich has had rain and storms but all have missed us. I have seen rain in the west, north south, but not here. 4000 post wow thats a lot. Ran some MTH yesterday to check batteries still have two engines to go. I'm using BCR's as the batt.'s fail. But i have seen engine boards fry when they were but in. I've been told it has to do with the charging board,if the BCR works the first time it suppose to be ok. If not tough luck. Everyone stay cool.      Mi. Jim.

Morning all.  Hot and humid and NO rain. Disapprove [V]  I guess you could say, "What's new."

Now we are going to have prayers that is turns HOT and HUMID in North Conway after 5 days and stays that way for a week.  [see, no A/C where Jim is staying Laugh [(-D]].  Lets see, last year the "kids turned brown as berries", if I quote him right. Shock [:O]  Must be some strange New England berry.  Laugh [(-D]  Lets see.  We have blackberries, blueberries [called huckaberries in the south where they grow wild] and cranberries.  No brown berries.  Maybe those things that rabbits leave behind can be brown berries. Shock [:O] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Off to Raleigh for lunch with oldest daughter and then County Commissioner meeting most of the afternoon.

Hope all have a great week.  God bless all.

Good morning from a hot and humid Chicago where I am back from a few days off hosting my mom. It has been a week-long run of clear skies and high temps. We went on our annual visit on Saturday to Donley's Wild West Town - a throw-back to classic family-run amusements - complete with pony rides, riding the mini-train, panning for pyrite, shooting arrows, slingshots and airguns, and drinking sasparilla in the saloon. They had a neat kid-powered speeder ride where one spun a crank and raced over the rails. When I was growing up, our family used to camp in Lake Conway in NH - right next to North Conway - hope Jim A gets to ride the Conway Scenic Railroad.

Man it is another hot one today. I just hope all the corn I planted doesn't stop growing. Well I'm no longer between jobs I was wishing for more time this summer to spend time with the girls.

One good thing about getting another job is that I can do something stupid like buy a nice PRR E-8. Now I have to fins one.Approve [^] Someone like me really should not go train watching I find that I want every train i see on the real tracks. That darn Altoona Railfest anyways.

Hello everyone. I'll be the big 60 tomorrow - July 10th - that's what my wife bought me the Docksider for! I'm still over the moon about it, I've hauled loads up steep inclines with it, shunted with much better precision than my other locos and am generally pleased as Punch with the little blighter. Not so pleased about the big six oh though...as I said to my wife "I was never consulted about this aging business and had I known beforehand what was involved, I think I might have declined the opportunity!"

On the other hand I wouldnt have the three wonderful children who got me started with Lionel two Christmases ago and I wouldnt have four lovely grandchildren to play with nor my favorite niece Asherah who is the little girl I'm bringing up on her parents behalf (I'm retired) so they can both work and leave me a train mate to lay tracks on the floor with!

This IS a wonderful forum and I do enjoy the folks here, hopefully I'll get to meet a couple some day. Just putting in a quick plug for tomorrow as unfortunately all my few trusty long term mates live far, far away so tomorrow will be a rather subdued 'celebration' not the round objects to the wall beer blast I would rather have enjoyed if the opportunity arose.

Never mind, a nice cup of cocoa and early bed, I'm officially OLD now! Bummer.

Welcome home, Zeke - hang in there dude.  If you are reading a bible, I'd suggest the book of Job right now.  Seems you have had a ton of stuff going on in the past few months that we've known you.  You will see that God gave Job back double what he "lost".  Make an honest woman of Jenny.

Happy BDAY Thor!

Hi guys, took the day off and watching Independence Day with my son.  Daughter still wanted to go to the sitters, since there are a couple of other girls and today is library day.  Jaabat - congrats on the 4K - looking forwared to 401K!  Laz - he's got a home computer now, but if you really buckle down I'm sure you can beat him!  Brent, you are making me look REALLY bad, man!  Took me months to wire my basement and sounds like you redid your entire house in a week?!  Well, after a marathon day yesterday, my basement wiring is all done except connections to the load center and install lights and fan in bathroom.

No sooner got my drac car and Trainz emails that they just shipped my preordered Halloween Aquarium car Thumbs Up [tup]  Gonna go down and measure some space in the basement later.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
