Good morning from New England.

Not much happening here today. We got some more rain yesterday and today is supposed to be perfect beach weather. We are headed to the club to sit by the pool after breakfast.

Rubber stamping my 2025 proved to be a bit of a chore. The dry transfer numbers the restorer used were under a coat of clear. So I ended up sanding and repainting the cab's sides. It came out gret. Can't even tell I did anything. The paint matched perfectly! Will rubber stamp with silver paint today.

Wish I could be there to watch the Chief playing badminton! Wonder if he wears little white shorts to play...

Hoping old Zeke pulls through. He's in God's hands.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and already muggy in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gotta call this gal who picked up Lassie in the middle of the night.  I wonder how far that dog got this time.  Saw him at the bottom of the street last night, called to him, he just looked at me as if to say, "Love ya, but I ain't done doin' what I wanna do yet", then he split.  Almost as bad as a teenager...almost.

Looks like the Chief is trying to appear more young and fit with his new exercise regimen for the Mayoral race.  I think he should include an action shot on his campaign literature.

Well, Lassie came home.  Yeah, after I went and picked his furry butt up.  Apparently he just walked in with a young couple when they got to their apartment at 1:43am, about a half mile from our house.  They were very nice. Said he came in and "just chilled" with them.

Helping the boy set up for his TOY/YARD sale this morning.  He's parting with a lot of his possessions because he'll be 13 in a few months...look out.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful, sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 86 today. The sky is clear and blue.

Zeke / Jenny...Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope he pulls out of it. You both are in our prayers.

Buckeye....Where are you ??  Catch a lot of fish ?

Today is going to be an outside day, mowing grass and enjoying the great weather. The rain has caused the grass to start growing again. Looks better green than brown. No time today for trains. Maybe tomorrow. I took some layout pictures, yesterday. Will post on SPF.

OK, here is the Dining car. Time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

I'm back from Northern Ontario and from my very quick read, Zeke has been very sick.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

Yes, I'm back from fishing in the great wild bush country of Ontario where our group of four boated 202 fish.  We only count those that we actually get in the boat.  We do not count nibbles or hook-offs like the Chief.

Speaking of the Chief, what is this I hear about him trying out for the Olympics in badminton?

A train stopped us at a crossing at the Soo.  Interestingly, all engines in that part of the world have snow plows.

Well I just sent one kid packing for a week. My oldest is off to the beach for a week with a friend’s family. We might make it over the mountain for the Altoona Rail Fest then the Horse Shoe Curve. Later in the day we are going to bike the Staple Bend Tunnel Trail. This time I will remember to bring a few flashlights.

I wonder if the wife will figure out that I really want to stop at a cool train shop in Altoona. Well she will figure it out when I stop in front of the store. The day will get to a high of 82 and will be sunny. The inside of that tunnel is looking better each minute.

I might try to run into John F but that would be by change since I’m not sure of the time he will be in town.

Welcome to the Crossroads of Commerce!  The boy is outside selling like crazy.  Lots of middle-aged fellers buying STAR WARS dolls (sorry) action figures...

CHIEF - Lassie would probably knawl off his right paw for a chunck of country ham.  And yes, he is an old farm dog.  Got him from a farmer who was raised in NC.   I have to call the dog with a southern draw to get his attention.  Send me your address and I'll FED-EX him to you...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Zeke - get well soon buddy...

JF - Wife came upstairs today to wake me up... she says, 'What's this about a truck that BEEPs?'  I'm like 'Truck that beeps?'  She says, 'Yes you got an email from John about a truck that beeps for $100.00'  I think I stopped laughing after 20 minutes, then I took her downstairs to show her the BEEP and the cabeese.  She got a chuckle too... Smile [:)]

Fife - If you fed Lassie country ham bones more often he wouldn't be able to fit through the door!  But I can see him waving the tail as he trotts off down the street... LOL!

Well a neighbor lady stopped by today with some brownies.  Nice lady, but she ends the conversation with 'Here's the names of me, my husband, and two boys, along with our phone number and address.  If you know anyone who has a dog and needs an invisible fence, we install them and can give them a good rate.  Also, my boys 10 and 12, are always looking for little jobs to do, like picking up sticks, so if you have anything for them to do just ask.'  I couldn't believe it... just met her and she's trying to drum up business and pawn her kids off on me!  And what's with picking up sticks?  I have a John Deere... I just run over anything under 1/2 an inch!  Over that and I haul it to the woods out back...

Looks like sir james is having a bought with 'Chief Syndrome'...

Buckeye - how many of those 202 were of eatin' size? Dinner [dinner]  Just finished having Talapia with my FiL, wife doesn't much care for fish and we were havin' a hankering for some, so she got to eat rice and asparagas while we enjoyed out fine dining! Smile [:)]

Hi ladies!

What a nice day we had here. After a BFB (Big Farm Breakfast) we headed out for a day of sun and for me, ogling young honeys in bikinis at the pool. Lots to look at today! I scored 3 phone numbers and a myspace address!

Got home, did a few chores, then rubber stamped my 2025 cab. I originally did it with ink, but discovered it came off with a wet paper towel. So I used silver paint instead. It looks completely authentic! I should write that teenage girl with the myspace address to tell her how nice it looks! So after I ran the 2025 for a while, I made a big roast beef dinner with carrots and potatos, gravy, green beans, salad,...had the inlaws over and we all enjoyed a great meal. Getting ready for a little desert and tea.

That's all for now. Big baptism and party tomorrow. Hoopy doo! Jury duty on Monday. "Get a rope"!

Good evening all,

It has been an interesting two days since I last posted.  I mowed half the yard and swept the house last night.  Stayed up too late watching a dumb movie, and finished up the rest of the housework this morning.  The older daughter was down here most of the day with her two kids.  I entertained the older of the  two grandkids most of the day.  Fortunately when they are two, you can play "chase" and not wear yourself out.  We had my dad over for lunch as well and I ran the standard gauge for him upstairs and we watched the IRL qualifying on the website.  Helio is on the pole and Manning is starting ninth.  Danica and Sarah are way in the back of the pack.  Scott Speed is starting 15th in the F-1 race tomorrow.  I will be in open wheel heaven tomorrow as the F-1 is on Fox at 1 PM and the IRL is on ABC at 3:30 PM (check local listings).  I washed two days of dishes tonight as the wife had been at Bloomington Friday.  Lucas spent the day at King's Island with some friends.  The newest Lego catalog came today and they have some awesome building kits that could be used on regular train layouts.  I may consider some for my standard gauge.  The dining car had bran muffins for breakfast this morning as it headed to "Points East".  I hope everyone (especially Zeke and Jenny) has a good day and welcome back, Buckeye.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Jenny, we will be sending some prayers up on this side of  the country as well.  We serve an awsome God who is still in the miracle business.  Zeke has been a blessing to us here and to this country.  While our prayers are for you too, it helps to have someone there with you.  Do you have family around?  One person I think would be good to talk with would be Charles' wife.  After the many years they spent together, you know she has had pleny of experience of going through tough times and there is no better teacher than experience.

God Bless you both.

Now for Fifedog,

give him a minute, he'll be finished!  Got a little Mississippi coon hound in him.

Was a tough day.  After kids were fed, we went to eye Dr., he checked all of us.....my eyes are the same, but suggests I wear special eye protection in doing any activities outside, or soldering under the layout to keep me in my current profession.  Following this, we headed up to Columbus as a dear friend of ours was diagnosed with cancer.  It was found in her abdomen and lungs, which pretty much closes the door on this.  Today she started Chemotherapy, but if it doesn't stop the progression in short order, you might as well not do it and let the last months of her life be as comfortable as possible without all the side effects of Chemo.  All in all, it was a tough time to see her like this.

Chief, let Pam win sometimes!  While it may be her new excersize routine, she still needs to think it is something she can excell in and enjoy.

Hope everyone has a great night and Sunday.  I will try to check in after moring Church.  we are bringing  breakfast for Sunday School, so a good time will be had by all.

Dennis
